Surprisingly great guacamole and elotes. The Birria tacos were lacking a little flavor and the consommé did not help because it was a little bland as well. Actually had to sprinkle a little salt inside the tacos. Not bad, just not what I hoped after the wonderfully spicy elotes and chips and guac. They could not accommodate a party of 12 on a Saturday night at 8:45. They said they would seat us, then they did not.

A group of 15 of us went out for an after training wind down. Chose this place because some locals said it was fun and laid-back. Rather than getting dinners, the group ordered a variety of appetizers (and drinks). We shared the appetizers. They were so filling that they left no room for dinner. But that kind of was the plan. Here's our appetizer list. Chips and salsa, plus guacamole, bacon, wrapped jalapeños, Mexican street corn, quesadillas, and oh wait, there's more, blackened chicken fingers. From the fresh and salty/pepper chips to the salsa, guacamole, and everything else, the group overall was satisfied. My favorite were the blackened chicken fingers. A twist on chicken, but different good. If the weather was nicer, we would've gone out on the deck and enjoyed the water view. Next time. read more

I didn't expect to like it here as much as I did. They have their own private parking lot. The ambiance is just as awesome overlooking the river as Docksides and Duke's, but there's not as much outdoor seating. Our server was kind, attentive, and quick. The nachos were awesome and filled us up so much we didn't have room for our entree. The food was so flavorful, and we were able to get 2 additional dinners out of them. A quick hop across the bridge from Harrisburg, Willies has a large bar with TVs and food and a big enough menu to get everyone everything they need. Good place to watch a game or just be out and about with friends. Big fan of the pastas and sandwiches. read more

The ambiance was mid at best. Great dj, but once his set was done they just never put music back on for the remainder of the night. Was looking forward to Sunday brunch after having a nice dinner there a month ago. Service was slow and not attentive to detail. But the biggest disappointment was the quality of the food. Overdone potatoes that were cold, eggs overdone and actually crunchy and pancakes so overdone they were hard to even cut and pretty much inedible. Second attempts to correct problems were not much better and bacon, toast and clean silverware never did appear. Bill was adjusted for 2 out of 5 orders but there was no real acknowledgement that food should never have even been served as it was and no apology for the significant delays all around. Came here for a weekday lunch with several of my coworkers. Restaurant wasn't super busy, but it took a manager coming over to ask if we'd been helped yet to get someone to take a drink order. 4 of us ordered the Fiesta Salad, which is supposed to come with certain items per the menu. Every single salad was wrong and mine consisted largely of hugely cut, barely cooked, slimy onions. When the server was told that a) the salads were all wrong and b) he'd overcharged us for them (lunch v dinner price), he apologized but did absolutely nothing to make it right. Before leaving, we waited for approximately 15 minutes for him to come back with a box and checks, which he never did. We ended up having to take our checks up front to pay, despite being the only table in the entire interior of the restaurant at that point. Basically every single thing was wrong, the service was terrible, and I will never understand why they play sad country music at a Mexican(ish) restaurant. Smh how did you get that from an additional bowl of guacamole?? I've not been a fan of one of the group's other restaurants for many years, but a family member who was visiting wanted to eat at TW on the river so I gave it a try.  I'm glad I did, because we had a fun and tasty dining experience.  There was a group of 6 of us and we were fortunate to be seated at an outside table overlooking the river.  Service was very prompt and friendly.  The portions of food were very large and we ended up taking togo boxes home! We started with the elote fries, which were good and the fries were cooked perfectly! We sampled the grilled Mahi tacos and Carne Asada tacos with rice and beans, Chicken stax bowl, and the southwest cheeseburger. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. On 4/26/26 at 5pm we went inside to get a table at Tequila Willie's. This blonde waitress came over to our table and was all over my boyfriend asking him if he had any questions pertaining to the menu. When I asked her about the drink menu and a specific drink she acted like she had an issue with me. I told her I wanted something orange but she brings me a strawberry drink to the table instead. When I told her this was not the drink I wanted or ordered she told me I had to pay for it anyhow. At this time I told her that I didn't want that drink and I wasn't going to pay for it. I then directly let her know I would like to speak to the manager. This waitress states I need to speak to her directly and moves towards me at my table seat. I tell her 3 times I want to talk to the manager but she still keeps stating I need to talk to her. At this time I have to go get the manager myself. The manager and I speak and he tells me I don't need to pay for the drink and that she was incorrect. He never apologizes for the way she spoke to me or anything. My boyfriend and I decide to leave since this waitress is still yelling at me from a distance in front of everyone. Then when my boyfriend and I decided to walk out of this establishment the same waitress is letting my boyfriend know she wants to call the police on me. We started dinner with Chips & Salsa. Which are made fresh the salsa has a distinct lime cilantro taste very good. For dinner I ordered the Jalapeño Burger 1/2 Lb of Black Angus Burger topped with hand breaded Jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, onion straws, lettuce & their bistro sauce on a fresh baked roll I mistakenly ordered a side of fries wow they were huge hot and fresh. This Burger is huge and delicious it's not spicy but it has a great flavor. My wife had the Blackened Shrimp Stax Bowl Spanish Rice, Smoked black beans, Corn, Willies Salsa, fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, fresh avocado,cotija cheese & Lime Crema makes for a large dinner. McKayla our server went above and beyond considering they were a bit busy but she had no problems keeping up and checking up on us! Very pleasant and very efficient! She was an 11 on the 1-10 scale. Parking was easy to pull into. You can park in front. There is additional parking across from restaurant. When I walked in, dining area was spacious. The set up looked like it had three parts to it. One area looked like it could hold larger parties of people. I liked the rustic look. I was ready to converse and eat good food with my husband. Happy and comfortable. My nachos delicious with white cheese sauce and steak. The cilantro really gave it a good taste. Margarita was on point! The price of my meal was a fair price. Service was good. Went here on a summer Saturday evening and was disappointed. The server took us outdoors to the dock and our table was covered in bugs so we requested to sit inside. The restaurant was clean and well-themed--however, the food and drinks left something to be desired. The Mexican food was fine (a step down from Plaza Azteca), however the churro sundae was not good. The churro was stale and the Icecream tasted freezer burnt. The margaritas were sweeter/more saturated in flavoring than usual. I'm telling you nothing but the honest truth. I'm a big guy, so you know I can give you an honest review. Service: The service was beyond amazing. I can tell you that food came out fast. The servers were very polite and super friendly. Food: I had ordered the blackened shrimp tacos with rice and beans. The WORST shrimp tacos I've ever had they were extremely over seasoned, it's like they tossed 20 different seasonings all over the shrimp and still had no flavor. The rice was cold and hard. And the beans tasted like they were from a can. My daughter had the wings they were extremely cold toast with lettuce. She ordered barbecue but they didn't mention that it's spicy barbecue. Definitely not Mexican, so don't you dare say let's get Mexican because this is not it!!! On the other hand dockside willies is good. Had a great dinner last night, sitting out on the deck enjoying the warm weather and the view with friends. Our server had her hands full with all the tables outside but she stopped by often and checked on us. Once we ordered we sat and chatted over our drinks waiting for our meals. A few minutes later we heard a clatter and saw that one of the staff had dropped a tray of food. Turns out it was ours and the server came over to let us know it was going to be a while longer to re-cook our order. I asked for chips and salsa to tide us over and she brought it out right away. That held us over as we continued to chat until our meals arrived. I had ordered the salmon tacos with flour tortillas. The salmon was rare, as I had requested, and the whole taco was juicy and flavorful. With a side of rice and beans I was a happy camper. Wound up taking taco #2 home because they were so filling. First time here since it opened...first time was awesome. Food and drinks were good, this time however, not so good. Our server was nice, beer came pretty quick and cold. We were there today around 1:30, not crazy busy but getting there. We both ordered a chicken sandwich....normally I don't eat meat but i figured I'd try one of their sandwiches. Hubby had the nacho chicken sandwich and I had the south of the border chicken sandwich. I was going to cut mine in half and take half home....for the life of me, I could not cut that chicken!!! It was so damn tough. My husband's was the same way! I am guessing they were under cooked. We forced ourselves to eat them because we hate to waste food. When the server finally came around, my husband told him about the chicken and offered us a comp dessert, had I known my husband was going to do that, I would have saved more of the chicken for the chef to see how hard it was to cut and eat. The server said he would let them know. I'm sure we will visit again but....maybe the sandwich with all the goodies without the chicken! Oh well, hope everyone has better chicken to enjoy! read more

Terrible is the only word to describe this place. When they first opened the place was good, sadly not anymore. Ordered a steak medium rare, served well done. My wife ordered chicken fajitas, how can you mess that up? Easy enough apparently, way over seasoned and the chicken was as dry as cardboard with the same consistency. Sat at the bar for Friday for happy hour. During happy hour they have half off drinks and also some cheap eats off their bar bites menu. Staff was attentive, though some better than others. Vibe is fun- some seats outside and through the windows you can see the river. Margaritas were delicious and on point- right amount of tequila. Food quality was high and fresh with large portions. Highly recommend both the fajitas and stax bowls. Will be back to try some apps off the bar bites menu for happy hour! I do wish their website had the bar bites menu and the drinks menu. I could only find their beer and wine list. I was able to find last year's bar bites menu on their fb- appears to be about the same, but I'm not sure if the prices went up. Only annoying part was a young child with her tablet sound up so high we could hear it at the bar even over the music. I would not have wanted to be the couple trying to enjoy their evening that were seated right next to them. Overall, definitely a place to check out for happy hour or lunch/dinner! read more

In general the food quality was average. (my quesadillas were soggy from oils and too many onions so they fell a part easily and were somewhat mushy). French fries not too crispy, just cooked at point where they were done. Veggie side was rather good but again slightly too much oil. Strawberry margarita was perfect. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the previous reviews. Fortunately, we took the risk and tried it. We liked it. We swung in on the impromptu decision to give it a try. We were seated immediately. Service was fabulous (and I 100% credit our server for a pleasant experience). This is kind of mod-TexMex. Definitely not Mexican. If you want that, head to Harrisburg and order some tripe tacos. This is TexMex with a trendy twist. We started with the bacon wrapped jalapenos for $14. There were 10 of them divided between 2 skewers. Stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, fried, and served with a spicy sauce. I would (seriously) come here just to order a single serving of that just for me as my meal. We also had the smoked pork belly tacos ($16). They were super flavorful and came with rice and beans. The beans had a strong cumin flavor and were really good. I will definitely return. Even if just for the jalapenos. I'm seriously craving them as I write this. If they were closer, I'd order them, pick them up, and eat them on the way home. :) read more

Meals: Quesadilla Al Pastor (pork) Very Large. Nice presentation. Pork was about a 6/10. Needed a little more spice. But overall it was not bad for a Dockside Willie's extension. South of the Border Chicken Sandwich: The chicken breast was cooked nicely. Toppings were good. Good mix of avocado, cheese, and other toppings. 7/10 Mahi Tacos Good flavor. Fish was cooked nicely and not fishy. Overall a decent taco. Beans were a little dry but had some flavor. Same with the rice. 7/10 Kids meals: Chicken Fingers and Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Chicken fingers were huge and flavorful. Grilled chicken sandwich for the kids was same size as adults but no topping. Asked for bbq sauce. Fries were about a 6.5/10 Good service. Expo food runner brought meals. Were all hot and nicely presented. Server was there every step of the way with a smile. Overall, it's Dockside Willie's with some tacos and other southwestern food. The decor and atmosphere are really neat. The service however, not so much. Young man took drink order and it took forever to bring drinks. I observed him sitting with co-workers chit chatting, playing on phone. I ordered the mesquite steak salad. The steak was WAY over done. Like chewing leather. Server never came back to check in. No drink refills, no "how are things," nothing. He finally came and took the dirty dishes long after we finished eating. Then asks if we want more to drink. My friend ask about dessert...he had to bring a menu for her to look. There's like 6 things...he couldn't just say what they were? Was here before and it was really good...this time awful. While visiting Harrisburg PA on Columbus Day, we stopped at Tequila Willie's. Very ornate design and great parking. The restaurant was clean and friendly. However, I ordered a hamburger with veggies (red pepper and avocado) It was gross. My companion had a fried meal and it was fine. The cook put soggy sliced red peppers in the sandwich. The waitress pointed out they should have been grilled! But, she charged me full price and did not offer to replace the sandwich. Great place to have a drink, but, I would never eat there again and feel jipped in my wallet. I still left the waitress a tip. The problem was not her service. read more

I was very disappointed being there. I went on Friday this past week for the first time with 3 others. First there was no hostess for 5+ minutes when we walked in. I guess there's a reason it wasn't busy. When we were sat, the server came to help us immediately and took our drink orders but when they came back with our drinks only half of us were ready to order. We gave our order and we assumed she'd come back in a few minutes to get the rest of our orders in but she didn't come back until our food was already done (25 minutes later). Then we decided to not get anymore food since it wouldn't be ready until half of us already finished our meal. After that we weren't helped until bringing back with our checks. Make no effort to bring drink refills, utensils, or napkins. We had to flag them down and the server was irritated we were interrupting her from talking with her coworkers for past the 20 minutes. And when we were able to get her attention to ask from napkins she came and left as fast as she could. We weren't able to ask for anything else so we had to flag her down again for refills. We could see our server sitting at a booth out of earshot talking with all her coworkers not doing anything to help any of her other tables either.
