I arrived with some friends for brunch and was seated immediately upon arrival. The cafe didn't jump out at me as it seemed like any other cafe but the hostess was very friendly and kind. We were all able to order drinks and immediately after offered to order our meal. I asked for the breaded zucchini fries and my wife asked for the veggie sandwich. I didn't try it but it looked and smelled amazing. It had mushrooms, broccoli and peppers; all on a hoagie roll. My drink of choice today was a black coffee. Not too exciting as I wasn't really hungry that day but rather hanging out with friends. The restaurant was small and quaint and the waitress was cordial. The asparagus was dang near inedible because of it being an end after saying something and only taking one bite they removed my soup which was good soup btw but charged me the $16 for the sandwich. The only table available was right by the front door-which meant every time someone went or out, we got a blast of cold air. The staff was friendly and professional. The pizza was delicious...red sauce, yummy til the last bite. That was my appetizer...a slice of homemade Italian delight. The server could not have been more pleasant and helpful since this was my first visit. The entrée was scrumptious... Beef tenderloin tips with onions, peppers, and mushrooms and a side of sweet potato fries. I went at a perfect time between 2:30 PM and 3 PM. They weren't busy at all. They took their time preparing my food and I was not rushed eating it because there was nobody waiting for a table. It was a perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon. It's a cute little café with lots of parking in the front and about 12 tables inside. The restroom is very clean and just as delightful as the atmosphere and the food at a café off the beaten path in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. I would definitely return to try some new items on the menu. Amazing Burger, well cooked mushrooms, THICK, juicy patty, and all around a great meal! The bottom bun was a bit soggy due to the juice from the patty and mushrooms, but since it's so thick you have to eat it with a fork anyway, so you can just discard that part. After traveling from Buffalo with the family to visit Herschey, and eating nothing but chain restaurant food for a day and a half, I was desperate for REAL food. This definitely fit the bill. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff members who seemed happy to be working here, seated immediately, and served quickly. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and really sweet to my kids. The cafe is small and intimate inside, very nice but casual and inviting to a couple of bedraggled and sunburned parents with two overexcited children. Our meals were all fantastic - refresh salmon, barbecue chicken with a Caesar salad, kids french bread pizza, and homestyle kids' mac and cheese. We cleaned our plates. As the restaurant was a little past closing with only a couple of other patrons remaining, we didn't stay for dessert, but I was a little sad about that when I saw dessert being served to the next table. I feel like I've been to 99% of the restaurants in Hummelstown, Hershey, Palmyra... but for whatever reason had never come here. Super glad that changed last night! Big portions. Onion rings were tasty, the garlic bread was yummy and came with both marinara and alfredo sauce to dip it in, and the quesadilla was surprisingly delicious. We definitely ordered too much food, so by the time the calzone came out we were already full, and brought 95% of it home to the kids. Enjoyed it so much, that we ordered takeout for lunch today. We passed Lisa's Cafe on a Saturday we were thrifting in the area. By looking at the full parking lot at breakfast we were certain we'd want to hit them up on our way back through. It was about 11:30 when we stopped for lunch, although we were really craving breakfast. While I was disappointed to learn breakfast isn't available all day (darn!) we were promptly greeted and seated. The hostess was very friendly and although a little cluttered (in a good way) the whole vibe was very homey. Our server was equally friendly and patient with us as we struggled to make our lunch selections. Ultimately hubby had a burger and I a Rachel. Both were cooked well and of large portion size. I was craving a little more crunch from the homemade slaw on my sandwich but it wasn't bad. I also had a side of their Italian pasta salad which contained raw broccoli. I, personally would have preferred zucchini in lieu of the broccoli but it was still very good. We shared a piece of their homemade peanut butter pie for dessert. It was huge and the perfect size for sharing. Did I mention it was delicious/!? Overall we were very happy and full when we left and thought this place had alot of charm and was exceptionally clean. At check out we were given a token for spending $20 which is their form of loyalty. Refer to the picture for loyalty perks. They also have a discount for ordering online. Lisa's Cafe is a little gem and we'd love to hit them up for breakfast sometime if we're ever in the area again. 4 stars because this is the kind of place that is screaming to have breakfast served all day; at least on weekends. I hope not to sound biased, but the story goes like this. I've wanted to be a chef my entire life basically, and Lisa's was my first taste of a kitchen. Started dishwashing at 15 and Lisa being the awesome person she is gave me a shot on the line on my 16th birthday. She gave me a true taste of what it takes to cook even before my culinary training and to this day I look back to moments we shared in that kitchen. Lisas cafe is something special, one might call it a hidden gem but it's grown into a local delicacy. Haven't had one since that equalled Lisa's Cafe reuben. Today's visit I switched up to the breakfast menu. I went with scrambled eggs and home fries, both were excellent. My breakfast also included 2 pieces of french toast. I always get my home fries extra crispy with onions. Perfect. My French toast was really good. I asked for a cup of coffee, only needed 1 cup. Wow! Talk about a big cup. No refills needed. The first time we dined outside, couldn't pass up the beautiful weather. Today we ate inside. Our waitress knew the menu and recommended the most popular, but she explained everything was going to be good. The decor was so colorful and cute. The four of us cleaned our plates! My mom and I always search for cafes. She is a lighter eater so their menu's tend to suit her better. Also, they usually offer a better drink selection. And that is how we found Lisa's; another of the many restaurants along the stretch of road between my home and Walmart -and one of the best. For those who don't know, Lisa's Cafe is known for their Reubens (among other things). Let me support that point: they have great Reubens. Great in size, great in flavor, on great bread; yeah, they're pretty great. So are the waffle fries that you can get when you order one. As are the sweet potato fries. We also tried their stuffed french toast and grilled sticky bun. Two more winners they have to offer. I imagine the rest of their menu upholds this standard. I know cranberry chicken salad and apple crescents do. Now, both times I have been here I ate outdoors; the weather was just that nice. But I still had to go inside to pay, and that made me want to eat indoors. Its such a cool looking cafe. It's decorated in a way that pops, but is modest -though it does seem to get crowded. Another thing noticed and admired were the table caddies. Why? Because the little baskets, neat in design, are humbly altered to match each season: colored napkins, festive garnish and so on. My new favorite breakfast place in Palmyra! Found it by chance driving by and I am glad that I stopped. The Decor, atmosphere, and most importantly, the food make you feel like your at home. Coffee is great as well, which is my make or break for a good breakfast place - the food had got to be good but the coffee seals the deal! Also, I would like to offer kudos to Lisa's on their grits. As a guy from South Carolina, I am pretty critical of any place serving grits but they have their grits game on point! I had the Corned Beef Benedict, which Is worth a repeat order. When I travel I like to visit local restaurants and get the local color. Lisa's was on the Red Roof Inn preferred list so I tried it and SO GLAD I did! When I arrived the parking lot was full, so I parked on the street. Always a good sign that the place is hopping! I walked into a comfortable, casual American style cafe and it was wonderful (see picture). The waitress was attentive and friendly explaining some specials and reocmmendations. I ordered grilled shrimp pasta primivera and it was very special, flavorful, just enough spice and well presented. I loved the music playlist - Garden Party, Stairway to Heaven, it was pleasant in the background not overwhelming the conversation. I wrapped with a piece of lemon meringue pie which was also delicious. The prices were reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend you stop for a visit if you are visiting Hershey, PA. read more

Lisa's Cafe is a great little restaurant. This was my first time here. I purchased a Groupon which lead me to check it out. This would be a cute venue for a bridal shower or baby shower. Not sure they do that though. I hade chicken cordon blue, corn fritters and grilled asparagus. My only complaint was the asparagus were a little mushy. Lisa's is a favorite local spot of my family and friends. I have eaten a number of meals there over the years and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. With the pandemic going on, I have ordered curbside pickup from them multiple times. Their website has an option to order select menu items online, and I really enjoy the efficiency of this. One of my favorite go-to foods on the menu are their Stromboli dishes. While meat is great, my favorite has been the vegetable Stromboli, which is filled with sliced tomato, onion, mushroom, broccoli, spinach, etc. The large boli could easily feed a family of three or four, and they taste awesome. Tonight, I also ordered crab macaroni and cheese. Also very good. I think Lisa's is offering limited seating outside and/or inside, but I cannot speak on that experience outside of my going there pre-pandemic (service inside was always top notch). This level of service has carried over to curbside pickup, with staff bringing food to your car and while wearing a mask - this is much appreciated. All of my exchanges with staff in the parking lot have been pleasant. Given all that I feel 100 percent comfortable in recommending Lisa's Cafe to both locals and out-of-towners. Hopefully, they will open up again for breakfast, as that was also one of their strengths. read more

Driving through Hershey and looking for a good place for lunch and we stumbled into Lisa's based on positive reviews here. They were so well deserved. Crab bisque was excellent! I had a Portobello Rachel - yep! Like a Reuben (they offer a portobello option for that, too) with coleslaw and just enough cheese for flavor without being overwhelming. Hubs had a veggie Stromboli.
