First thing I noticed was an employee literally washing the trash cans by the entrance. That same person didn't stop cleaning and prepping tables the entire time. Our waitress was so awesome! She was very personable and professional. The food came out hot and well plated. The pancakes are huge and literally are the best we've ever tried. We could only eat one they were so big. My meal was the country 3 egg omelette with sausage gravy and potatoes. I opted for sour dough bread and a side of crispy bacon which was not greasy and cooked perfectly. You get three strips. The establishment is extremely clean and a few minutes from the Hershey Road Rv campground we stayed at. They cut breakfast off at 11am which we found out the previous day. I'd like to come back for dinner at some point. This place is a must try. read more

So I haven't been here since this place used to be a small little breakfast place back in like 2010. WOW what a glow up! It looks incredible in here. New signage, local vendor items for sale, great lighting. It gives fancier dining with a laid back feel. The waitress we had was on top of things! She was very nice and kind. The speed of service was incredible for a Friday Night. As far as the food, we got the baked haddock which was cooked well with good seasoning and flavor! The sweet potato fries were crisp and cooked right. The chicken cordon Bleu was interesting....there was a very strong rosemary taste to it. It almost overpowered the taste of the chicken, ham and Swiss. It was good for a few bites, but the rosemary definitely became overpowering. I also got fries and corn nuggets which were delicious! The desserts was the star of the show! Reese's Peanut Butter Explosion! Just incredible, definitely get a dessert here. All in all, we will be back. It's been years since I've stopped in year. I will be coming back more often as there is a lot on the menu I'd like to try! Especially breakfast. For this visit, we did not have to wait for a table at 12:30pm on a Saturday. Wait time for food was not too long. The roll that came with the entree was good but just a simple potato roll. Pulled pork dinner is a nice size portion of meat but small sides. I thought the pork would not be saucy since it did not indicate there would be bbq on it. Burger was decent and cooked how we like. First some of the wins: Beautiful and clean interior with a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It was such a nice ambiance with the glass carafes of ice water and glass goblets adding just enough ritzy feel without being stuffy. The prices were reasonable and average for a family friendly atmosphere. The vanilla cappuccino was served hot and was quite delicious! It hit the spot on a gloomy evening. The pierogis were well cooked, flavorful, and delicious. The corn fritters were hot and crispy on the outside and filled with sweet cream corn- again, delicious. The turkey dinner entree was very good and the mashed potatoes were given a thumbs up. Our waitress and the staff were kind and professional. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Areas needing improvement: Someone needs to learn how to cook chicken properly. The grilled chicken entree came out so dry and overcooked that I couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. I sent it back and they did replace it. The second plate was still overcooked and super dry to the point it was a turn off and I figured it wasn't worth the hassle to send it back again so I focused on the other food instead. (Didn't eat or or take it home- it was that bad.) My daughter's breaded chicken sandwich was just as bad dry wise and the bun was burnt . She didn't eat it either but took it to give to someone else. I was slightly disappointed to learn the lobster roll on the featured photo (which led me to trek the hour drive with the family) did not exist on the menu. Final Thoughts- Despite the chicken issues (I highly recommend NOT ordering chicken here) we voted that it was worth the hour drive and would give it another try. Next time we would love to try the desserts because they looked so amazing! We will NOT be getting chicken there again though. read more

Been here 3 times so far. Twice for breakfast and one for lunch. Service is a bit slow even when you're one of the few people in the restaurant. If you are hungry at breakfast, just do the buffet because you'll wait a while to get your food if you order something. Wait staff is kind of unprofessional. They seem disorderly. Also the 2nd time we went for breakfast, this older woman who was working there was just complaining the whole time about how her son is a freeloader and how all of gen z is awful (as we, a gen z married couple tried to enjoy our breakfast...) We mostly go here for breakfast so my review is based off of their early morning/breakfast options. Stopped here on the recommendation of our neighbor after we moved into our house and so happy we did! They have a pretty basic breakfast menu ranging from omelets to pancakes to breakfast sandwiches. We've never left disappointed or hungry. Portions are large and delicious. Husband and my father in law frequently meet here for breakfast as its half way between Hershey and Etown. The interior is very comfy and decor changes with the seasons making it feel very homey and welcoming. Restrooms are clean and bright. Took away a star as the last time we were there we felt rushed to eat and go so they could turn tables quicker. It was a Friday and the restaurant wasn't overly crowded so I'm not sure if they're under staffed or maybe we just had a nervous server. We had breakfast at this establishment this morning. The food was excellent. The corn beef and cabbage with 2 eggs of your choice on top was well portioned flavor wise. Not too salty, as sometimes this dish commonly can be at most restaurants. In addition, they know how to make toast and not just warm bread. A pet peeve of mine, you ask for toast (changes color) but receive warm, a little stiff bread. Not so here, thank-you. The special baked oatmeal was blueberry. It was very good, moist and served with warm milk. I would have liked to have a little honey or brown sugar (not much) to sweeten it gently. The food has always been pleasing when patronizing this establishment. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 due to our server. She was adequate but not good or great. We were seated promptly by the hostess. She gave us water and menus. The hostess even poured our first glass of water (Very personable). Our server came over to offer coffee and said she would be back for our order. She returned promptly to ask if we were ready to order. I asked what flavor was the Quiche special, she stated vegetarian and then I had to ask the baked oatmeal as well, blueberry. We ordered. While waiting for meals to be prepared our server did return once to offer coffee refill. Someone was seated at the table next to us, their server approached them for their drink order and let them know the specials without being asked. I did hear there was a 2nd Quiche special we weren't told about perhaps our server didn't know. Our food was served she left quickly and never returned to see how our food was or if we needed anything. My companion would have liked hot sauce for his eggs and I after tasting the baked oatmeal would have liked a little honey or brown sugar. I was done before my companion she came over to take my dishes away and we did not ask for the hot sauce at that point because my companion was almost finished. We waited a little while to receive our check. Our server flop it down on table and walked away. We were going to hand her our credit card right away because we could see how this was going. She never returned to take the payment. I asked the server waiting on the table next to us if she would take it. However, she said she would let our server know. Not sure why she couldn't take it maybe house policy. Then we thought things were looking up because our server took the order for the table on the other side of us and when finish walked away. Deflated, because we were here much longer to pay than it took to receive our food. Now, I know it was starting to get super busy and it appeared our server had more tables than the others. My family owns a restaurant. I used to help out and if you cannot check on your table to ask how their food is or take their payment you are too busy. We got up went to a hostess to ask if they could take our money because our server was too busy. Here is the kicker, our server was standing there speaking with the other hostess she turn her head and I am pretty sure she heard what I said but even if she didn't she walked by us went into the kitchen. She didn't apologize, "Sorry I didn't get back to you" or "Thanks for stopping in." My companion always tips the servers $10.00 for breakfast because he knows you don't make much for that meal. But, he didn't do that this morning she received 1/2 that amount and that was still more than 20% of our bill. To the server I will say, you are there to sell your employers product (food). You don't need to do twice as many tables as the other servers to make more tips. The more you tell your customers (specials, menu items, describe it, say what's in it) and pay attention to them the better tip you will receive. QUALITY, not quantity. If you don't believe this advice, try it sometime you will reap the benefits of it. We will return because we believe this establishment is the best breakfast in the area. read more

I will have to say I totally expected to get a look when my co-worker and I walked in 30 mins to closing but it was just the opposite. The service was great from start to finish. The hostess was nice and welcoming. Our server was really cheerful and helpful. She didn't rush us, just let us enjoy our dinner and dessert. I also appreciated she didn't force the bill on us even through by the time we finished it was after closing. The food came out quick and the portion sizes was just right. I wasn't sure what the spinach and hot bacon dressing was but I wasn't mad at it. I was different but good. The spinach dip is something I would order again. The entrees were both good, I can't remember the name of the fish my coworker got but he enjoyed it. He was shocked it was chopped up. Then we finished with funnel fries!! Loved!! It's too bad the Hershey Bistro is over two hours away from where we live, because we would make this place a rotational regular for our weekend lunches! Our aunt and uncle live a stone's throw from the area, and they recommended we all give this restaurant a try during our most recent visit. This place is brandy-new and clean. Nicely decorated and cozy. My husband, uncle, and I ordered the babyback ribs, and our aunt opted for the gyro burger on rye. I should mention that our aunt has a dairy intolerance, and the waitstaff did a fantastic job of researching which dishes had potentially hidden dairy in them. She was able to find items that tickled her fancy without incident. Awesomeness! My husband makes the best ribs on the planet, therefore, I never order them when we're out. I was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness and thickness of their ribs. Falling-off-the-bone indeed! You can order them wet or dry and they provide you with several additional sauces, ranging from sweet to spicy. Rib orders come with a choice of two sides (plenty of options choose from, ranging from macaroni and cheese down to a garden salad), and you can also add-on side dishes ala carte if you so desire. They serve table syrup with their sweet potato fries and corn fritters (interesting), yet the flavor combination worked. This place is great. Stopped in last night after a show at the Giant Center. Didn't know anything about it but it looked nice so we gave it a try. So happy we did. Our waitress, who's name I wish I could add but didn't get, was SO friendly and attentive. Just a genuine, kind woman. Our food was delicious. We have come here a few times and never had an issue! Food and service was always great but this time so disappointing! Food and service took way too long for breakfast on a weekday. The most infuriating part was how much we were charged and how terrible the food was. I have no problem paying more money for excellent food but that was not the case. Sausage and cheese omlet used pizza sausage (or that's what it looked like) nasty!! Scrapple was mostly cornmeal and not crispy at all. No one came over to refill coffee like they normally would. Just overall bad experience! Gave a 3 instead of a 1 because we had great food and service other times we visited. Definitely a bad day for them when we visited. You can definitely tell and see they are understaffed. read more
