Very good atmosphere and awesome staff. We arrived about an hour until they closed and they never showed any type of rush or irritation about our presence. They took our order and even treated the three parties of people to arrive after us like we had all the time in the world. The food was good and the staff was on the ball. We had a very good experience while dining at Hi-Way 101. Friendly staff, good food and a relaxed atmosphere. What else can you ask for and all within an hour before closing time. I was passing by on my way to Olympic National park and we decided to make a quick stop here for brunch. This is like any other diner you would encounter in a small town. Food: The country benedict was great, loved the gravy. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was good too, the tater tots that came with it were amazing, super crispy. The Nutella strawberry waffle was another favorite. Service: The waitress was a bit confused. She missed a few things on our order and didn't remember to get them even the second time around. Got there mid day, placed seemed very inviting and cute. Sat down ordered our food, my friend watched her au jus get out in the window. We waited an additional 30 minutes for our meal. I ordered a club with potato salad, my daughter and her friend ordered burgers with fries. My daughter and her friends burgers were pink, my daughter's more so almost raw. My club was deli meat with kraft singles put on it. And they put my cold food on a hot plate! My friend with the au jus did not have buns toasted or cheese put on it. They comped us one burger and my friends au jus and the bill was still 60.00. Such a disappointment this was supposed to be my daughter's birthday meal. Never again! read more

They have some of the nicest waiters and customer service I have ever seen on the Peninsula. For a casual dining place, the retro 50s style gives off a cool 'Americana' ambiance you won't find at most places. I will admit that some of their dishes, including pasta, are mediocre in taste. However, there are some dishes that are simply a cut above the rest. Their club sandwich is a must-try, their burgers and onion rings are packed with flavor, the steak fries are a crispy delight, their milkshakes are a sweet treat, and their smoked rib special, available only on Fridays or Saturdays, is a culinary masterpiece that's worth planning your visit around. Everyone I've seen who waits tables and cooks there appears to be very hard-working and tries to keep customers happy. The very friendly staff makes it all the more worth it. The food prices are also fairly reasonable, so I don't think you'll break the bank eating here. If you're looking for a nice, relaxed casual dining experience with an oldies atmosphere, then I would recommend 101 Diner for a nice night out with friends or family. This restaurant is one of my favorite places in the world. We live in Southern California (20 hours away!) and we visit my grandparents here a couple times a year. Every time we are in town, we try to come at least once (twice when we come). Such a fun atmosphere! Our family favorites are chicken and waffles, the crab sandwich, the Big Bopper, and the world famous Peggy Sue. The servers are so friendly and patient with the kids! The decor is so immersive and it really feels like a small town Americana diner (in a good way)! They have so much cool vintage decor! The first time I went, I saw that they sold shirts and I knew immediately I needed one of those! For my birthday, I wanted to go out to eat and this diner was 100% my first choice!! The diner gives you all the retro, 50s vibes. This place reminds me of a Ruby's diner in terms of ambiance and their dinner menu. They do serve breakfast all day which is pretty neat! The service was great and because I am GF the selection was very limited, I got the steak to play it safe and it was alright (you come here for burgers and fried food). My husband and father in law got their omelettes for dinner and claimed they were some of the best omelettes they have ever had. This place seems to have constant traffic but we got seated right away and our food came out at a reasonable time. read more

Cute little dinner at the heart of Sequim. The portions are huge (bigger than Denny's/IHOP) but the taste are not any different. The omelette ( Kitchen Sink) comes with a choice of toast, biscuit or cornbread. The biscuits and the cornbread are very good...try them! The Jerry's mess is a huge serving of harsh browns with 2 eggs and ham. Will come back again, if I'm ever in this town again(coz I love a good breakfast). read more

So I was so excited to go there I've had like three people recommend this place so I really high expectations and maybe that's my bad so I went in and I ordered myself the Duke of York, which is the patty melt. It comes out and it is raw in the middle, not medium raw I mean straight up raw then the waitress had the nerve to argue with me that is supposed to be raw. It was not edible. Finally they agreed to make me a new one last time I checked a patty melt was supposed to have melted with cheese and toasted. I got two piece of un toasted rye bread, some grilled onions and a burger so freaking disappointed and on top of it my husband got biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits were still raw too. He didn't take his back cause it was at least his was edible and he wouldn't die. If he ate it unlike me who could've literally die. If I ate what they served me oh, and also we didn't get the milk till the very very end and they charged us four bucks for it and we had to go and get it ourselves. read more

Disappointing experience. This was our 4th time visiting this restaurant and we were excited to bring our guest to experience the diner. It was a mistake. Staff were not friendly nor attentive. My husband never got his toast. The waitress never returned to check on our table. The pop was flat and no attempt made to change the CO2. Just took it off the check. Our other visits had been fantastic, but after the way we were treated today, it is highly unlikely we will return. In the end, we were embarrassed to have taken our guest there. read more

Cooked to perfection, flavorful, and the homemade tomato bisque soup was very good. There was a nice homemade roll, not a package Parkerhouse but nice light croissant shaped roll that was also quite good! Baked potato and the veg also good too. Diner is super clean, bathroom clean etc! They were closing as we left and everyone cleaning up the diner. We are fussy re eatery cleanliness and food quality! Flew into town last week and my parents took me to dinner at this cute diner. I had a Vanilla Coke (soda fountain style), a cup of clam chowder and a House salad. The salad was yummy with house made blue cheese. The chowder had amazing flavors, just needed to be thinned out a little. The staff was super nice. read more

Cute 50s themed diner. Theme wise I'd want the staff dressed as they would back in the day and I'd add a jukebox or the little play from your table music boxes. Going 50s means malts! The vanilla malt was perfect. The foods on the menus all had cute names. I ordered "The Big Bopper" and my friend did some "California Dreamin'" burger fare. The Big Bopper was a chicken sandwich with bacon... lettuce, tomato, and pickles sat on the side to suit my taste. I don't eat pickles but I can tell you there were 3 or 4 and they looked very fresh, the rest went on my sandwich and I can tell you: Whoever was doing the cookin' in the kitch'n knows how to cook! This place was way above par for a diner. My chicken breast was super moist, my tomato bright red, and my lettuce fresh without any limp despite the 3-digit weather happening just outside. And as for my friend's California Dreamin'? She couldn't stop raving about it. We left the Hi-Way 101 Diner talking about the food. If only all restaurants left us feeling this way! Her burger was broiled to perfection and tasted fresh and delicious. We ordered salads on the side and they had many other sides to choose from tater tots, sweet potato fries... a generous list. The place is so popular that they even have punch cards! Punch cards, can you believe it? The place is lively but the service does not suffer for it. This place is reasonable. I give it 2 stars alone just for the style/ambiance. It really has that 50's diner look. All that's missing is the costumes and dress and a working jukebox. We stopped here after going to the Olympic Game Farm and just wanted some diner style food. I'll pretty much go anywhere that has breakfast as I can eat breakfast at almost any time of day. It's just comfort food to me, or so it seems. My fried ordered a French dip sandwich with fries. It doesn't come with Swiss cheese. The Swiss cheese costs extra but it is served au jus though so it still is a classic French dip. I ordered pancakes, eggs, and hash browns. The pancakes were perfectly cooked and golden brown with no burnt edges. The were like silver dollar pancakes, so they were small and easy to just toss back with minimal cutting. The eggs also were scrambled to perfection and had a buttery taste, which I was all about. The hash browns were all right but a little disappointing. I really haven't met a hash brown I actually like, but yet I still order them every time. Maybe they'll grow on me one day. There were several other items on the menu that were vegetarian friendly or that could be made sans meat, so that was good to be able to have a selection. Granted it is still diner food though so most of it's deep fried or what you'd expect for quality in a diner setting. They just make it really good in here though! read more

Great atmosphere. It fits the 50's vibe perfectly. Staff were attentive, in great spirits and helpful. It was so hard to figure out if we wanted lunch or breakfast, both looked so good. We went with lunch. I got a Ruben. It was very good, and how it was made the whole thing was melted together into a wonderful sandwich. My wife got the Philly cheesesteak, and she said it was very good. She also got a milkshake, which was total old school and yummy. My only criticism, was my latte was not great. They were full of water it seemed with undercooked whites. We sent them back and it affected the rest of our meal. Hash browns were inconsistent, hers were cooked well and crispy, mine almost raw. Alright place to cool down after a long day looking at lavender farms. Our server was so nice and made everything a breeze cuz we are some picky people haha. The food came in really big portions which is something any customer will appreciate. Taste wasn't half bad. I ordered the pork chops and a cup of clam chowder. The menu isn't lying when it recommends the clam chowder. It really is good. Prices seemed a little steep considering where we were at. WARNING!!!!! EVEN IF YOU DON'T EAT ANY OF YOUR MEAL BECAUSE IT WAS NOT EDIBLE, THEY WON'T REFUND YOU! My husband and I went in for dinner and got an appetizer sampler which was great! We loved it! Then we ordered our burgers. That's where things went south. We got the Louie Louie burger and upon arrival, the buns were stale and the fried onions on it were stale and had NO flavor so we had to peel them off of our burger, which also took 90% of our cheese with it. I took ONE bite of my burger, chewed it, and spit it out because it was so gross! The server came over after my husband had eaten half his burger (his was also gross but he hadn't eaten all day so he choked it down as he didn't want to wait for a food remake either and we wanted to get home asap) and asked if everything was okay and then we told her our issues with the food and she asked if we wanted it remade. I told her no thank you, and that we would just like a refund on the burger because I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for food and that I'd like to get home (and who knew if it was gonna be any better?!). Then she offered us a free dessert and I again, declined. I don't want dessert for dinner or a $6 replacement for my $15 burger. So I asked if I was going to get a refund and she said no and that THEIR POLICY is that IF WE OFFER TO REMAKE IT OR OFFER A FREE DESSERT, WE CAN'T REFUND YOU. That's right. Even if your food is SO inedible that you SPIT OUT the first bite, you still get to pay for it because they offered a dessert and offered to remake your nasty meal with the same stuff they made the first nasty meal with. This policy is also not stated ANYWHERE or told to you before ordering. The fries were also undercooked. I wish I had taken a picture of my FULL plate but they were rather quick to "get this out of my way". They also said they'd call the cops on me if I didn't pay for the food I didn't eat. They do not care about their customers at all and obviously know their food is SO BAD, they refuse to refund for it. read more

I ordered the open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. The beef was thin sliced which I loved. The mash was red potatoes. Which is rare. Loved it. It was really good comfort food. Highly recommend for old fashioned American food in a nostalgic setting. The staff was also very accommodating. Loved the nostalgic feeling of this old time diner. I had the vegi-sandwich, which was fresh and delicious and the clam chowder was very creamy and tastey! We went during Sunday lunch rush hour and watched as the cooks Cranked out plate after plate of food (we were sitting at the counter) but sadly watched as the food sat there for way too long under the heat lamp. I think this is a time management issue with the waitresses. They needed runners to bring the food quickly to the tables. The waitresses seemed discombobulated.
