Halibut and fried Oysters
Cyndi C.

Speeding past for years, this lil roadside circular-shaped blue diner is worth a stop! Full wait service diner. They have both indoor and outdoor seating for summer days. Inside the diner section is cute old school booths and a counter seating the other seating is larger tables for groups. The menu is extensive breakfast options and lunch dinner burgers and lots of fried seafood options. The halibut fish and steak fries are on point! Loved the light mayo/vinegar style homemade slaw as well as the excellent homemade tarter sause, with lil pickles and perfectly done. They have s beer cooler now where you can choose from a variety of bottled beers to go with your lunch. We definitely will be back for the oyster combo platters and fish that is done perfectly, not greasy, fish is still moist under that crunch, yum!

Bacon cheeseburger with steak fries

We stopped at this place on our way to lake crescent. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a side of steak fries and grilled chicken sandwich with side salad. The burger was cooked fine and my wife loved her chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and the lettuce and tomatoes on both our dishes were very fresh. I personally hate steak fries but this place served good ones. They were crispy and not too thick. The ambience is just like any other diner and I loved it. Not pretentious at all. However, the silverware could be much much cleaner.

The service here was really great, the staff was polite and friendly and fast. The food is pretty good! Kind of pricy as far as diner food, but tasty and I left full. The ambiance is casual.

Pretty average diner food. Not bad, not great, but it gets at the job done. We've been a few times and it's consistently solid.

Typical diner. No frills. Average breakfast. Can't really go wrong. The toast and sausage were surprisingly tasty.

I quickly identified this as the most likely place in Port Angeles to sate our hunger and thirst! We were not disappointed!. The Main Street is humble but all-American. We arrived at 5:30 and we were quickly seated in a comfortable, tall banquette. Our server was Miranda and she was a total pro. She was knowledgeable, efficient, perky and knew her business like the pro she is. The menu is real deal Gastro-pub, there are plenty of craft cocktails to satisfy any taste. The double vodka rocks was $12, the special was any burger for $15. I had the Mrs Newton burger with Brie and raspberry jam with smashed patties. SO GOOD! The chowder was excellent the tataki small plate was outstanding! We got the chocolate thing for dessert. We had a great evening!

The burgers were too greasy and mine was way undercooked for what I asked for (medium). My stomach didn't feel great after eating it. The fries were decent, but are a separate add on to the burger. Friend said Fish and chips were standard fare, but the chowder was a little bit on the thin side. The food is definitely pricey, but portions are decent.

Brussels sprouts are ubiquitous these days, known for…read moretheir hearty health benefits and delicious taste, but this restaurant truly did them right. They were perfectly fried with a crunchy exterior, all heightened by a lovely drizzle of honey. 5/5 Fried Chicken Sandwich - This sandwich was a monstrosity! If I were Sasquatch, I'd still be full after eating this. They practically put two fillets into one sandwich. The breading was flavorful, and the chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. I definitely appreciated the generous portion size. 4/5 Ahi Tuna - Deliciously fresh and simple. The tuna was lightly seared and served sashimi-style with a perfect rare interior. Being so close to the ocean makes you appreciate how fresh seafood can taste, and they deliver that here. It's lightly dressed with soy sauce and citrus to bring out the natural flavor of the fish. 5/5 Service & Atmosphere - The service was great, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter knew the daily specials by heart; he was quick yet succinct in explaining what the restaurant specializes in. I really enjoyed this place!

The bartenders are true mixologist and even have non/ alcoholic cocktails and 25 specialty bitters (dry jan anyone?) I enjoy all their appetizers every thing from, seared ahi tuna, bacon wrapped dates (you get 4 per order), crispy brussel sprouts are crack, they are so good. (balsamic vinegar goodness) Menu is somewhat small but they have a great Chicken sandwich that is perfection in crunch, best batter Ive had (since Oak in Seattle. I think it originally was the sister to Spruce but changed owners.?) The other star dish is pork schnitzel, tasty all around and I love the capers, the red cabbage side, it's not too big, so you can finish the meal. (which is perfect as I don't think it would carry well to reheat due to gravy) I can't forget to compliment the service. Our waiter checked on us often, gave suggestions when we asked, water always was refilled which we appreciated so much. Service is lost nowadays but not here! So come here for a small plate and specialty cocktails or craft beer night or a full meal. The only underwhelming item was the side of fries that come with the sandwich was meh, but they do have decorated ones you can order as side that might be more tasty.

It's pricey here but eh, what isn't over in this area? Also, at 11.3 ABV, maybe don't have three. The clam chowder is the best I've had yet, and that tops even where I'm spending my summer. Sorry not sorry. Ordered the crab cake platter with wasabi aioli as well and it did not disappoint. Reminds me of grand-moms house. So good! Let's talk about service. Not one, but two servers taking care of lil ole me. Both so friendly. They allowed me to enjoy my beer and when I said I wanted to take my time, they honored that without rushing food or service. The ambiance is pretty casual, family friendly, and right on "the strip" so you can walk off those delicious calories you indulged in. I will be back and will be bringing a crew with me next time. Hook & Line Pub delivers fresh seafood deliciousness and a casual environment that is welcoming, friendly, and ultimately satisfying.

Whenever I travel to coastal cities, I'm always on the lookout for good fish tacos, and these were definitely delicious. Since they were about $25 for two tacos, it was definitely a "one and done" for me. Seafood Basket: 4/5 This is your typical fried seafood basket, including halibut, cod, and shrimp. All the seafood was fresh. I enjoyed the shrimp; they were bouncy, but not rubbery like frozen shrimp. The cod was flaky and plump. The halibut was the same cut as the fish tacos--denser and packed with flavor. I really liked this dish, but after a couple of bites, the heavy fried food definitely got to me. It'd be better if they served this with a side of coleslaw or vegetables to balance out the entire meal.
