We did not get pictures on this stop, we were too excited to eat after our day in the park and on the road. We stopped here because we wanted something quick and we thought the burgers would be the star of the show, but honestly they were kind of mid, instead it was the cheese curds that were the best! This is a drive thru only restaurant, and the service wasn't great but they were super busy...so I attribute it to that.

An absolute gem!! My family and I stopped here after a nice hike at hurricane ridge and man did Frugals hit the spot! We each grabbed a burger and fries with a milkshake, and it was epic! It was a classic and fresh burger - you could tell it was great quality. The milkshakes and fries were bangers and we couldn't get enough! Don't be spooked by the long lines in the drive through, the service moves pretty quickly and they're super friendly as well. The ambiance was that of a classic burger diner joint from way back when, so it was giving nostalgia vibes! Overall, a banger - I want to go back!

Cheese curds $4

It's not frugal per se, burgers with $6-7 each is pricey. There's no dining in, all drive through, the lines were long but they moved fast. We had bacon cheeseburger $6.80, mushroom swiss burger $6.50 and cheese curds $4, the portions were decent except the cheese curds which was tiny pack. The beef patties were a bit dry but overall it tasted good.

Frugal burger is always a must when passing through Port Angeles. It is a drive thru, no indoor seating. They have great shakes and fries too!

Everything you want a burger to be! The fries and milkshakes were perfection. Not too sweet but perfectly complimentary to the meal. For under $30, two people can have a fantastic dinner; and take it to the scenic sit spot of your choice since this joint is DINE IN ONLY. Eat here you won't be disappointed!

1/4 Lb . Bacon Cheese Burger with Tomatoes

Drive-thru only! It's meant to be a convenience but since we were staying at the hotel right next door, it ended up being an inconvenience to have to drive over. There are two lines and they both move very fast so if you see cars spilling out of the driveway, don't worry because you'll get to ordering soon enough. Because we had an order of 12 burgers, we had everything ready before the window. The cashier took our orders with no complaint but when he read it back, it was in a different order and I have no idea if he got everything. In the end, we weren't missing any burgers but a couple had some wrong modifications. They label each of the burger wrappers with the type of burger and modifications and it took us a minute to figure out what was what. The standard burger order comes with ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, onions, and pickles. You can remove some of them or even add tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, onions, etc. for a small price. I'm a little disappointed that tomatoes aren't part of the standard but the extra cost is pretty minimal. A combo order also comes with fries, drink, and fry sauce (which was forgotten). The burger itself was a little underwhelming. I didn't think the patty was juicy or flavorful enough. The fries had the same texture as McDonald's, a little soft and crispy at the same time but lacking salt. Despite the underwhelming food, the convenience and price outweigh it all and I can see how Frugals can be a first choice when you're on the go or just want to pick something up fast.

We kept seeing a line out to the street so we had to try it, and did not disappoint. We got just the basic chicken burger and beef burger combos. The sauce they had on both burgers was great! They didn't look great, but tasted great. Very similar to McDonald's fries, not very seasoned but fresh. Fast service!

Cheese curds

This was one of the only places open past 9:30pm. It's drive through only with 2 lanes for cars, so the wait can take a little bit. I got the cheese curds for $3.5 while my friends got burgers for ~$5-7. The cheese curds were cheap but tasty little crispy pockets of cheese. They're slightly salty and I wish that they came with a sauce. Meanwhile, my friends said that their burgers had too mayo, but we're good for a late night drive through.

Do they offer lettuce wrapped burgers for gluten sensitivity?

I don't think they do, but there are better places in town that can.

I quickly identified this as the most likely place in Port Angeles to sate our hunger and thirst! We were not disappointed!. The Main Street is humble but all-American. We arrived at 5:30 and we were quickly seated in a comfortable, tall banquette. Our server was Miranda and she was a total pro. She was knowledgeable, efficient, perky and knew her business like the pro she is. The menu is real deal Gastro-pub, there are plenty of craft cocktails to satisfy any taste. The double vodka rocks was $12, the special was any burger for $15. I had the Mrs Newton burger with Brie and raspberry jam with smashed patties. SO GOOD! The chowder was excellent the tataki small plate was outstanding! We got the chocolate thing for dessert. We had a great evening!

The burgers were too greasy and mine was way undercooked for what I asked for (medium). My stomach didn't feel great after eating it. The fries were decent, but are a separate add on to the burger. They were perfectly fried with a crunchy exterior, all heightened by a lovely drizzle of honey. 5/5 Fried Chicken Sandwich - This sandwich was a monstrosity! If I were Sasquatch, I'd still be full after eating this. They practically put two fillets into one sandwich. The breading was flavorful, and the chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. I definitely appreciated the generous portion size. 4/5 Ahi Tuna - Deliciously fresh and simple. The tuna was lightly seared and served sashimi-style with a perfect rare interior. Being so close to the ocean makes you appreciate how fresh seafood can taste, and they deliver that here. It's lightly dressed with soy sauce and citrus to bring out the natural flavor of the fish. 5/5 Service & Atmosphere - The service was great, and we were seated quickly. Our waiter knew the daily specials by heart; he was quick yet succinct in explaining what the restaurant specializes in. I really enjoyed this place!

The bartenders are true mixologist and even have non/ alcoholic cocktails and 25 specialty bitters (dry jan anyone?) I enjoy all their appetizers every thing from, seared ahi tuna, bacon wrapped dates (you get 4 per order), crispy brussel sprouts are crack, they are so good. (balsamic vinegar goodness) Menu is somewhat small but they have a great Chicken sandwich that is perfection in crunch, best batter Ive had (since Oak in Seattle. I think it originally was the sister to Spruce but changed owners.?) The other star dish is pork schnitzel, tasty all around and I love the capers, the red cabbage side, it's not too big, so you can finish the meal. (which is perfect as I don't think it would carry well to reheat due to gravy) I can't forget to compliment the service. Our waiter checked on us often, gave suggestions when we asked, water always was refilled which we appreciated so much. Service is lost nowadays but not here! So come here for a small plate and specialty cocktails or craft beer night or a full meal. The only underwhelming item was the side of fries that come with the sandwich was meh, but they do have decorated ones you can order as side that might be more tasty.

It's pricey here but eh, what isn't over in this area? Also, at 11.3 ABV, maybe don't have three. The clam chowder is the best I've had yet, and that tops even where I'm spending my summer. Sorry not sorry. Ordered the crab cake platter with wasabi aioli as well and it did not disappoint. Reminds me of grand-moms house. So good! Let's talk about service. Not one, but two servers taking care of lil ole me. Both so friendly. They allowed me to enjoy my beer and when I said I wanted to take my time, they honored that without rushing food or service. The ambiance is pretty casual, family friendly, and right on "the strip" so you can walk off those delicious calories you indulged in. I will be back and will be bringing a crew with me next time. Whenever I travel to coastal cities, I'm always on the lookout for good fish tacos, and these were definitely delicious. Since they were about $25 for two tacos, it was definitely a "one and done" for me. Seafood Basket: 4/5 This is your typical fried seafood basket, including halibut, cod, and shrimp. All the seafood was fresh. I enjoyed the shrimp; they were bouncy, but not rubbery like frozen shrimp. The cod was flaky and plump. The halibut was the same cut as the fish tacos--denser and packed with flavor. I really liked this dish, but after a couple of bites, the heavy fried food definitely got to me. It'd be better if they served this with a side of coleslaw or vegetables to balance out the entire meal.
