We had an out-of-town friend who is moving to Sequim, so went with him to the Double Eagle. My wife and he both had the blackened salmon. Both said it was mild and one of the best cooked salmons they ever had. I had the chicken marsala, and it too was wonderful. What really added to our dining experience was our waitperson, Peobe. She was excellent, very personable, and went out of her way to assist us. So all in all we rated our meal and the service as A+. The only downside was that it took nearly an hour for our meal to be brought to our table from the time we first sat down. But after tasting, all was forgiven. read more

Quite a drive, but nice setting in the middle of nowhere. Looks like a private club. Multiple restaurants from which to choose. I ate at a smaller more casual space with a bar on one side. Very nice staff, all seemed to be high schoolers. Loud due bad acoustics. The sound with everyone talking was unbearable. I couldn't have held a conversation. All locals. They stare like you're from the moon then turn away. But the staff was so friendly. Ordered crab cakes appetizer and a 8 oz sirloin, both plates enough for two people to share. Crab cakes, steak, mashed potatoes, salad, asparagus, in that order. Huge portions. I wanted to finish it all but couldn't. Tried a mocktail that was a sugar bomb. They kindly removed it from my tab. Overall, I was very impressed and this was a nice way to splurge on my birthday. Funny side note, a group of mature women were having a dinner in a private room. One, the matriarch of the group, kept walking through to be noticed and announce that she was having guests in the special area. Very nice and simple looking. She might hold a protest at the library over books or something. I love talking to locals. We left at the same time. As I walked to my car, I stopped to take pictures of the beautiful totem poles and lit ponds. I was was holding my box of leftovers and plastic silverware in one hand and camera in the other, and stepped back so the ladies could cross the bridge. I simply said let me get out of your way and something about the beautiful bridge. The matriarch marched right up to me and said - did you steal that silverware from the restaurant!? I said obviously not, it is just fancy plastic - but not probably sold at Walmart. Mam, you have no idea who you are talking to. This is long-winded. The restaurant is good and has a small town country club feel. Surmising 97% were retired residents. I spent $87 for two solid menu items. Actually, about the same as I'd pay in Seattle. Sequim is a good town to pass through and not spend the night. Skip this place unless you're visiting with your realtor and moving to town. Happy birthday to me. read more

Service was nice. I ordered the TOFU COCONUT CURRY | 24 Tofu in a rich coconut curry with roasted bell peppers, eggplant, spinach, basil, and lemongrass. Served over a bed of coconut rice.. It did not have any of the greens or vegetables on it. It was tofu, curry sauce and rice with 2 very small pieces of asparagus. This is the only vegan item on the menu. The food was tasty and same menu as stymies (more casual dining next door) The surf & turf was tasty, albeit seemed to be missing the blackened seasoning on the prawns. the $12 price over the normal ribeye price for the 3 prawns, seemed a little steep, but i don't follow such prices normally. I'm not use to having my steaks pre-sliced, since i was a child, but a nice touch. The drinks were interesting, not quite as expected. I ordered a cosmo with cointreau & tasted like they used triple-sec (to me, the taste difference between sugar & saccharine, but it could just be me). This is the third time in about two years my husband and I have had dinner here. First, I'll say that each time, the service has been excellent. The first time, the food was 10/10, the second maybe 7/10, last night, my chicken Marsala was 3/10 because it was sickly sweet and everything on the plate tasted like the sauce. My husband's steak was fine but a bit overcooked, he said he'd give his meal 6/10. Not sure what's changed in the kitchen, but something seems to have. Im sure we'll be back eventually in the hopes the downward spiral of the food reverses course. read more

When the food is good, it is really good. I recommend the pork chop and the halibut. Other menu items are good but not great. Double Eagle Steak and Seafood is a great place to kill time as the service is sloooooow. The setting is nice the menu is steak and seafood. While the food was ok it wasn't compelling enough to make us return given the vanishing wait staff. You would think that the owners would want patrons to return but no emphasis on service and just so so food means there is no compelling reason to visit. If you are playing golf and want to get dinner afterword, Double Eagle is OK, otherwise it's not worth the drive. read more

Very disappointing. I went there for a birthday not long ago, and the service was very sluggish. We waited for our food for over an hour, and when it arrived, it was very mediocre. My mom was trying to eat vegetarian and requested one of their vegetable specials without dairy. -a sautéed bell pepper dish with onions. When the main dish arrived, it came with a dairy-rich sauce anyway. The outer layer of the roasted bell pepper was also overdone. Upon hearing about my mom's dissatisfaction with the main course, the chefs and servers did little to accommodate her dietary restrictions. To top off the disappointment, the servers asked if our birthday guest would like dessert. He said yes, and they brought him a small chocolate mousse in a glass with a single candle and said, "Happy Birthday, and oh...by the way, here's your bill for the dessert, too." No song. No special delivery. That's right. No complimentary dessert for the birthday boy! Every upscale restaurant should offer a complimentary dessert ON THE HOUSE to any customer celebrating their birthday. Avoid this restaurant at all cost for any birthday occasion! Nice place. The cocktails were okay. Went there for a birthday dinner and were hoping to get scallops but they were out. The birthday day wanted prime rib but there was none so we just had some appetizers and drinks. The chowder was tasty (4.5 stars) and same with the raw oysters. The prawn and crab cocktail was great. We also had a side salad that was good. The property is nice. The waitress and host were two very young people and I didn't get their names but they were both wonderful. Overall i would rate 3.5 with 3 being good and 4 being great. Employees get 5 stars and appetizers gets 4.5 stars. Food selection gets 2.5 and and drinks get a 3. Also, we're from out of town and didn't realize this place was 10 miles from the casino. We thought it was on the property and we were staying at the casino. read more

The food here is great but the service has been horrible for years. Whether in the bar or restaurant, you'll be waiting an average of 40 minutes for your food. And if you go to the bar, don't wait for staff to come to you. You have to go to them to make a connection. With this being said, we continue to return because the food is so good! It's unfortunate that they continue to have difficulty maintaining a properly staffed kitchen or attentive bar staff. read more

We went their first weekend after reopening, which is important to note. Overall was a good experience! My dad got the rib eye and it was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The side green beans were a little generic and boring, but good enough. The garlic mashed potatoes came out on the cold side of room temperature and didn't have much garlic flavor, but the temp may have been because we requested them on a separate plate. My sister got the french dip and thought the meat and au jus were good. Again, nothing to write home about, but no problems either! I got the chipotle chicken pasta and thought it was pretty good. Not as flavorful as I was hoping for but still tasted good, the chicken was perfectly cooked and very moist, and the toast points had good flavor and were perfectly toasted (in my opinion--I like a light toast). It was a nice portion size and I really appreciate that the chicken comes with it automatically. Most places will charge you the same price for just pasta and then make adding meat an extra charge so that's a huge plus. Overall, nothing spectacular, but nothing bad to say either. Our server was great and we were regularly checked in on and had our waters refilled. There was a slight delay in getting water in the beginning, but we chalked that up to the chaos of reopening. Also, because it was their first weekend reopened, they gave us complimentary champagne which was pretty good. The wine list looked like an extensive selection, although the server mentioned that they hadn't received new wine lists since reopening so she wasn't positive on the accuracy of the bottles available. Went here for dinner with friends and was sorely disappointed. Service was slow, my guess kitchen staff was overwhelmed/understaffed. Menu had been shrunk down from what was advertised on their website. Waited over an hour for dinner. Waitress was not very attentive either. Some tables have a view of the golf course, our table had a view of the parking lot. Had to wait fifteen minutes until we were seated when there was only two of us. After being seated, we waited ten minutes until someone came to take our drink order. The waitress was apologetic and sweet, saying she wasn't told we were there. She ended up bringing me the wrong beer, when I pointed it out, she gave us the wrong beer for free, which was nice. Food is mediocre and overpriced. If I pay $18 for a fish dinner, I expect it to be really good, not so-so. If you sell so-so fish, you should charge less. The salmon dish was nothing spectacular. My halibut fish and chips was very good though. Although still pricey. Overall, I just wasn't impressed and was hoping that they would deliver. read more

A large group of us went for dinner last evening, & most of us had the delicious prime rib dinner special. Just loved it, & will order it again in the future. My only confusion was that when ordering a "fully loaded" baked potato, all that was on it was plenty of butter, & found one little piece of chive on it. I thought there was more to a fully loaded potato, & one guest had mashed potatoes that appeared to be very fully loaded, possibly cheesy. That was more what I had in mind. Next time I'll just order the mashed potatoes, since I expected more to be added to the baked potato. It was yummy none the less, was simply surprised. We have visited the Double Eagle restaurant for a few special occasions. Last night we decided to go there to celebrate my birthday. At first we were a little surprised that the side plates were all mismatched, which seemed odd for a nice restaurant. Then we received what had to have been day old bread. It was crumbling and powdery. I ordered the Top Sirloin Mushroom Ravioli, which is one of my favorite dishes, my husband ordered the Rockfish, and my daughter ordered the Chicken Parmesan. I will start by saying the Chicken Parmesan was pretty good. The Rockfish was smothered in veggies including mushrooms that tasted like they had been soaked for days in wine. Luckily, he ordered it with Risotto, which was very good. My meal, however, left quite a bit to be desired. First of all, when it arrived it didn't look very good with a giant chunk of blue cheese sitting in the corner of the plate, instead of being sprinkled over the dish. Then I took a bite of the meat. I haven't had that bad a cut of meat from a nice restaurant ever. Following that, I took a bite of what I thought was ravioli, but ended up being a mushy ball of flour from the sauce not being mixed properly. I sent the dish back. Then I received a second dish, when everyone in my party was finishing up their meal. This steak was even worse. One entire piece of it was nothing but gristle. It was awful. But, since everyone was done, we just packed up and went home. I am incredibly disappointed in the quality of this meal. We were seated quickly, but sat at our table for a good 15 minutes before flagging someone down who appeared totally flummoxed to find to customers waiting for a server. We went here for our Anniversary dinner with our 2 year old twins in part because we didn't make reservations anywhere else on a Saturday and they had availability. I am SO glad they did! We were very pleasantly surprised with both the service and the food. The girls loved their fish and chips and pasta alfredo as did we. I got the clam linguini and there were plenty of clams and a nice light sauce. My husband got the octopus salad and the fish tacos and he was happy with both. I will say the creme brulee was to thick, maybe to many eggs or cooked to long but forgivable. We came for the Tuesday night special: prime rib dinner for $13. The service was exceptional and the dinner was unsurpassed. Could not have asked for anything better. My experience at Double Eagle was amazing. The nicer side of this restaurant is a lot more quiet and intimate. The waiter was very accommodating and knew the menu thoroughly. This was the worst experience ever. We had a reservation at 6pm for a birthday dinner for my husband. He is a chef & had been talking about trying this place ever since they opened so I got the family together & surprised him. What a mistake. The restaurant's assistant food & beverage manager at 2pm "i have a lot of reservations at 6 o'clock. In order for you to get the service that I'd like you to have, I'd like to see if we could move your reservation to 6:30." Well okay I guess, I want a good experience. We get there, they seat us with menus & water. The table next to us was another reservation that came in 10mins after us. They get seated with bread & butter. There seemed to be 3-4 people working each table. We had to ask 2 people before we got our bread & butter another 10mins later. We had to ask for kids menus. They are kid friendly: coloring menus & crayons, highchairs & boosters, kids menus. French onion soup, delicious. Pulled pork nachos: flavorless, half the chips were soggy other half burnt. Scallops: overcooked & rubbery. Fish n chips: ok. Ragyu (sp?) steak: delicious but mashed potato side rubbery & veggies bad. Our son got kids pasta: it was swimming in what appeared to be a stick of butter with a few shreds of cheese on top. He ate about a third of it but I think it was too rich because he threw up when he got to the car. I got the chicken pappardelle: horrible, basically noodles in an olive oil soup. It was challenging to return it & order something else since no one came to our table after we got our food. It was like they were avoiding us? They were at the table next to us all the time! After waving a worker over, everyone is done eating already & I haven't had dinner yet. She asks what we need, we say our server. Same lady comes back 6 minutes later, not wanting to wait any longer I give her the dish to take back & tell her I want to order something else. She takes the dish & says the waitress will come take my order...10mins later I get to order a filet. This took about 20 mins to cook so during this time I take my baby to the bathroom for a diaper change...Kid friendly but no changing tables? That's a big no no in my book. So I change her on bench in the waiting area. I get back to the table & my food isn't out yet. The waitress (I think, too many people working even though we barely got anyone to our table) comes to let me know my filet is supposed to be well done & it will take a while so I ask her to pack it Togo. She asks the rest of the table if they need boxes but walks away before given an answer so I yell after her what we'd like boxed. She takes the food & ten minutes passes....without the boxed food coming back. At this point, 2 HOURS IN, we all want to go home, the restaurant is not worth it, I'm hungry, kids are getting cranky. I stand at the bottom of the employee area, clearly pissed, staring at 2 of the chatting workers that look at me & walk away. A worker & our waitress look at me as they walk right past me, brushing up against my shoulder, ignore me & go clean a table. I continue to stand there & watch the manager come out of the kitchen part way, look at me & then actually turn around & go back into the kitchen. Then another worker comes down so I stop him "does anybody work out table or do you not want us to pay?" He goes "uhhh...what do you mean?" I said "well we haven't see anybody at our table most of our meal, someone took my kids food 10mins ago to box it & we haven't seen it yet." He says he'll get our waitress. She comes down silently with the $180 bill in hand & my son's noodles so I ask to talk to the manager. Meanwhile the reservation right next to us appears to be getting good service, they have 3 workers in & out of their table every 5mins. Out comes a birthday dessert for them with a candle. Now, when we came in we asked them if there is anything they can or will do for a birthday if we get dessert, their answer "we don't do anything for birthdays or special occasions." Imagine my anger when the table next to us gets something while my husband sits over here with the worst service of a lifetime. Manager finally comes out & before he gives us a chance to say anything he says "I'm really sorry about everything, the meal is on me." I explained how disappointed we were. My husband reminded him of his call & asked what he had said "I said in order for you to get the service you deserved..." "& did we get that?" "No..." He genuinely seemed upset but that won't change my husband's ruined birthday dinner. We won't be back. I really expected more from a nice restaurant like this & being owned by the casino. The restaurant in the actual casino has way better service & food. Oh, & my filet to go? Well it sounded good but the horseradish Parmesan crusted filet somehow managed to have no flavor. There are very few good restaurants in the Sequim area. The Double Eagle Steak and Seafood was a pleasant surprise. A group of us went there for dinner New Year's Eve day,everyone was pleased with the their dinners and the delicious appetizers, could not have picked a better place. Also, Stymie"s Bar and Grill is in the same building, my husband and several other people meet there every Monday morning for breakfast, he says the breakfasts are always good, except for the biscuits and gravy which are better at the casino, which owns both restaurants. read more

The salmon sandwich was fine but the chowder was lumps of sludge. Disgusting that it didn't look fresh. We didn't eat it. They charge you $3.85 to place a to go order. From the front desk until we got the check, the experience was a disappointment. It was our frist time on the "fine dining" side. The hostess was not welcoming, in fact we had to wait for her. The menu looked great but our meals were less than satisfactory. No bread even though we had plates for same. Salad was forgotten so it arrived after our entree. The daily special was blackened halibut and it did not taste fresh and was very dry. Roasted veggies were excellent. The first wine I tried tasted like it came from a bottle that had been open for a few days so I had to ask for a different choice. We give this restaurant 5 stars for service, wait time and the food. We also were recommended to have dinner here by the same cottages as the 2 star review below. We, however, had a great meal. The Caesar Salad had lots of parmesan cheese and the croutons were made with the right bread and had the perfect crunch. The clam chowder was real good, not "lumps of sludge" like the review below. If one gets take out food from a sit down restaurant, one is asking for trouble. The rice pilaf was made with wild rice, mushrooms, almonds and onion, wonderful. We also had Dungeness Crab Louis and scallops, all real good. For dessert we had chocolate mousse, very chocolatey! The young men servers were very charming and attentive. Lovely to see the snowy mountains peeking out from the clouds in the distance and the green golf course nearby. Extra nice that it was only 5 minutes from our cottages.
