When the wife and I were looking for a light lunch we happened upon Heritage Eats. We were not entire sure what to expect, but we figured we would give it a shot nonetheless. And I am happy we did. Upon entering, you find yourself in a typical fast casual restaurant. However, this one, unlike most, serves you alchohol if you do desire. There is an outdoor patio where you can enjoy your meal and drinks if you choose. Which is very fitting for the beautiful weather in Napa. As for the food, well there is plenty to choose from. The menu is made up of an eclectic mix of cuisines from around the world. You can get anything from tex-mex to korean. I got the Texas steak bowl with basmati rice. While my wife got the Caribbean jerk chicken. Both had excellent flavor in-line with what the name suggest. As a bonus, we got some of their delicious waffle fries in the side. This place was SO delicious. When we came in we were overwhelmed by the choices. We got the Thai waffle fries - SO yummy. I also got the pork belly baos - super good though fair warning you have to put them together yourself! I wasn't expecting that, thought they'd be pre stuffed. All good though cause they did taste amazing. They also have thai tea and taro milk tea. And giant sizes. My husband was soo excited, he was panicking cause he couldn't figure out what to get. If we lived closer we'd come here so often. They have all these different sauces and really fun dishes. I will totally come back. All of the flavors we had were super powerful and addicting. I would highly recommend coming here and trying it. It also looks like you can customize quite a bit. Yesterday, 08/28 I ordered via Yelp, however when I got there to pick up my food, one of the employees told me "our f'ing system is down, what did you order?" I understand he was upset however it didn't sit well with me on how he spoke to me due to his frustration. I showed him my order confirmation, he yelled it over to the girl making the food, however since he yelled, she asked to confirm something and he again, was super rude to her. The whole experience made me super uncomfortable. I don't know if I'll be coming back. To the owners, def recommend talking to your employees on how to handle stressful situations. I've been meaning to try this place out for years. I finally did and in a week's time, I've come back twice! I definitely recommend their Pork Belly Bao. Get a side of the gojuchang sauce because it's so good. And don't forget the crinkle fries! It's so crunchy. I was offered to dip it in the Boom sauce today and that was a good call! The men who work there were super friendly and welcoming. The only thing that was "meh" were the drinks. I tried matcha and viet coffee and they were both watery and the price was pretty high for what it is. Heritage Eats, located in a strip mall, is a unique dining experience with casual counter service. You can pick from any one of their menu items or customize your own, and they even let you have samples of any of their meats! On my visit, I got the falafel in a chewy, buttery pita bread--the falafel balls were fresh, crispy, and aromatic, though I wouldn't say this was the best falafel I've had. There was definitely a fusion aspect to the dish, as it was topped with pico de gallo! Next, I tried a sandwich with the Jamaican Jerk chicken, which had an amazing spice to it--the meat was tender as well, though I thought there was a little bit too much sauce. I also had a custom salad of greens, cabbage, corn, and pico de gallo, along with their meaty cowboy steak and the amazing lemongrass pork! Wow, both the lemongrass pork and carnitas meat are super flavorful and tender. I got the Banh mi. I just ate the veggie and meat because they were so good. I will make it a bowl next time. The name itself is deceiving. I honestly did not know what I was getting into. At first I was hesitant to walk in, but had a glance at their menu through the glass window. I've noticed Asian dishes that seemed a bit strange. That alone grabbed my interest. Ordered both the Banh Mi Dutch Crunch and Jamaican Bao. Threw in a side of fries just for first timer sake. Yelp check in got me a free drink. If you like food with a kick, it is a must try. Good stuff! For me personally, portions are huge. I love this fusion joint. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Heritage Eats is one of my favorites places to go for take out or delivery. I ordered my usual Falafel Wrap as normal via Uber Eats. Then to my surprise I received a bowl. I then called thinking they had gotten it wrong. However, they immediately gave me the manager who asked, "How can we make this right?" I then realized that I was the one who ordered incorrectly. Even with that, they were willing to remake it to my specifications. It was one of the best experiences, even though it was my own fault. You cannot go wrong with anything here. We ordered Banh Mi Dutch Crunch, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Vietnamese Coffee, and dirty Waffle Fries. Make sure to ORDER the FRIES! They were so crunchy and all the flavors were put so well together it was really yummy. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken can be spicy so be prepared! It tasted really tender and delicious though. Because it is Napa and has significant high ratings, I was expecting a lot, but I think it was overall not justified. Came in to pick up and was missing two items. Gave them a chance to greet me, but I had to greet first on 2/3 encounters, but the third employee was very friendly. Pork bao bun was pretty good. The bun itself could've been more fresh. Nice blend and compliment with the veggies and pork itself was great. Waffle fries and churros were bomb! Would order again. I was underwhelmed by the banh mi sandwich. Of course it wasn't your expected Vietnamese flavor, but it was still somewhat plain despite good ingredients. Also, it was on the smaller side with the price of Napa. I got an horchata and had a long hair in it. Got another one without issue. But, something didn't agree with me 2 hours later, which I am assuming is the horchata. A lactose problem may have been likely, but I have had dairy without issue in the past. I was missing a creamy tomato soup I ordered. Got refund no problem. With the inconveniences, no hassle but somewhat passive customer service, higher prices, and mostly underwhelmed on food, had to put a little below average for this visit. read more

I honestly didn't know what to expect, but the food here was pretty good! Ngl, I saw the menu and thought it was a bit of a scattered mess... Initially I thought that by taking on so many different ethnic entrees, surely they'd butcher their presentations and end up with some bland, inauthentic flavors as opposed to going to authentic restaurants for a single heritage? I was wrong, I really wasn't disappointed and everything came out tasting soooooo delicious! I ordered their Texas Beef bowl with their basmati yellow rice. Everything came out so good and the flavors just blended together. Super flavorful, fresh, and yummy! My bf ordered their Papa K Burger and enjoyed it, the fries were so fresh and crispy and well-seasoned. We also both ordered a large 32 oz Vietnamese coffee with added brown sugar boba, as we were both exhausted and could use the pick-me-up. The reason for the star reduction is that they definitely seemed a bit overpriced!! For our 2 meals and 2 drinks, we spent like $51! (Agh, don't remember the exact individual prices as they didn't give a receipt and it was charged to my bf's card) The 2 drinks alone already cost us like.. $20, which was honestly insane! Like I think 1 large Vietnamese coffee already cost about $9. I'm not sure if there was an extra charge for boba or what. Yikes. Pretty expensive for such a casual lunch, in my opinion. I unknowingly walked in before they were open today and was greeted with a friendly welcome and they offered to go ahead and serve me for my takeout bowl. Already above and beyond. They were super friendly and the menu is a little bit of everything. I love their Thai pork bowl. I wish we had a Heritage Eats up in Yountville but this is more than worth the 10 minute drive. I ALMOST stopped at Heritage Eats a few months ago and I'm not sure why I didn't end up going in, but I'm glad I ended up doing it this weekend! Maybe I thought they would be pricey or I was unaware of what was on the menu, but after examining their menu on Yelp, I decided I'd have to stop on in for their eclectic mix of Caribbean-Indian-Tex Mex inspired food. Not sure why I didn't just head in the first time, because Heritage Eats ROCKS. I'm a big fan of any menu that tries a few different styles and pulls them off. Did I want a Jamaican Jerk Bao? A chicken tikka masala wrap? Maybe some steak tacos? Or maybe I wanted to customize something along any of those lines in a bowl or sandwich? The great thing about Heritage Eats is they not only have a great spread of ingredients and flavors, but you can make anything you'd like out of those ingredients in a variety of bases, ranging from bowls to sandwiches to tacos to wraps and more. Sides are on the more limited side, but I ordered waffle fries which ended up being delicious and perfectly fried. Hot and crispy! There's a limited number of beer on tap, but a decent amount of bottled beers and wines for a place of this size. I also got $2 off for checking in on Yelp. Score! I ended up with the shrimp tacos, which were as photogenic as they were tasty. Excellently spiced, with decent portions of shrimp, and some killer salsa. I requested their habanero pineapple sauce to go with it. I love both of those flavors and it was the hottest thing on the menu. I was a fan! Next time, I'll probably request more. If I had any complaints, it's that it's quite hard to narrow down what you want to get. Outside of the type of cuisine, it's near impossible to decide what kind of carb to use as the vehicle for the meal or whether to go carb-less and get a bowl. I agree with some of the other reviews on that not what it used to be. also, for the price they could give a little more food! It was our first time here and was offered samples and given the "run down" on the menu or how to customize your meal. I ordered the Thai baos and let me just say how impressed I was with my food. The bun was very airy, fluffy and held its shape when filled with the yummy goodness of pork, daikon, carrot and cilantro dressing! Of course nothing was left to eat. I literally inhaled all the deliciousness it had! My hubby ordered a custom wrap with jerk chicken and coconut turmeric rice. It paired well. I probably can eat an entire bowl of the rice alone. The wrap looked like a burrito to be quite honest, but that didn't bother him or me. Took a couple bites and though my baos were better, his meal was just as tasty. As a side we got waffle fries. But that is the end of the similarity. I sampled Cowboy Steak. It's on the sweet sides. More like Asian cowboy? Lol. Caribbean Jerk Chicken is delicious. The spices really kick my taste bud. They keep warning me about the spice level. But, I came from Indonesia. I ate those Thai chilies just like that. The server asked me to try first to see if I can handle the heat. Of course..... I ordered the jerk chicken bao with waffle fries and my guy had the shrimp tacos. I was excited because I thought I remembered the baos are hand made in-house so I was hoping for something really special. The jerk chicken with the pineapple habanero sauce delivered on heat for sure and certainly was delicious with a good balance of sweet and heat. Unfortunately that is where the praise stops for this dish. It was so soggy I couldn't even pick it up - we ate there! Flavor overall didn't make up for the sandwich fail and it felt messy and heavy with not enough flavor to balance the fail in execution. If I go back I'd never order it again. The waffle fries were fresh, hot and super crispy so those were delicious. Maybe we could have asked but there was no option beside ketchup for a dip. The shrimp tacos tasted good but honestly it was nothing special and I was disappointed. If you're ever in the Napa Valley, whether you live there or just passing through, then make sure you stop for lunch or dinner to eat at this unique and special restaurant. It's definitely a gem! My review is based on the following items I've had in the past and recently. TACOS The Carnitas Pork and Spicy Jerk Chicken tacos are delicious and probably my favorites items from the menu (currently). All of the ingredients are fresh and complement each other perfectly for taste. The meat is on point! It's juicy, seasoned well, and not dry. You get three packed tacos with slaw, pico de gallo, cilantro, corn, and either habanero or lima crema sauce. ProTip: Ask for extra sauce. SANDWICHES The Banh Mi is a delicious sandwich. I love the lemongrass pork but I didn't like the dutch crunch bread. They also wrap the sandwich in tin foil and the juices from the pork made the bread soggy super fast. It fell apart and made the experience of eating a banh mi more of a hassle. I eventually used my fork to eat the meat. Honestly, I was a little disappointed. HOUSEMADE BAO What can I say? The bao buns are amazing! You can't go wrong with either one. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken Bao was packed with so much flavor. The Lemongrass Pork is just as delicious. However, I did notice the bao buns are a lot smaller now. You also have to fix the bao buns yourself now. DIRTY FRIES The Spicy Marley fries are so good! If you love fries packed with cheese, meat, and all the fixin's, then definitely order a side of fries. I have to caution that these fries should be shared with someone else because they literally can feed like a family of four. SIDES O.M.G! Can you save life-changing? These sweet chili Brussel sprouts are on another level. Just order them and thank me later. Falafel and hummus are also amazing here. I've never had such warm and soft falafel before. And the hummus is also very tasting...just all-around good food. PRICE Heritage Eats is not cheap. But the quality is worth it! Good luck on your world travels through food at Heritage Eats. The dessert machine was broken at the time, it would've been nice to cap the meal off with a treat even though the food was a treat in and of itself.
