Great service, excellent food, and beautiful indoor/outdoor seating! The farm vegetables were picked fresh that day from Stanley Ranch -- every single one was crisp, flavorful, and outstanding. The Wagyu burger was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this spot!

This review is long overdue, but my best friends and sister surprised me with a day at Stanly Ranch for my birthday and it could not have been more perfect. Food 5/5 (so fresh and tasty, felt clean and healthy!) Service 5/5 (everyone is like, so nice?!) Atmosphere 5/5 (I mean ranch style with modern cowboy vibes, does it get better?) But the real star of the show was our waitress Cruz! (I hope I'm spelling her name right). My sister surprised me with her pregnancy announcement and Cruz helped make it so special by being so discreet and handing me a little box as if it were from the restauraunt. She was an absolute sweetheart from the moment we sat down. Thank you for making our time here so memorable Cruz! This was the absolute perfect meal before our horseback riding festivities! Please don't skip the sundae, it's a MUST!

Always good. Love the outdoor patio. Service is always wonderful. The fresh ingredients and ambiance make everything taste better. Will always order the crispy rice and vegetable platter. Desserts are wonderful and worth saving room for.

My friend and I came here on a beautiful day, and the patio dining was unmatched. Overlooking the grounds of the Stanly Ranch Resort, the Bear restaurant served up the perfect ambiance for a casual yet elegant brunch. Service was friendly and generally attentive. The pace was perfect where we never felt rushed. I am unsure about their day-to-day menu, as on this Saturday all that is offered our brunch menu items. We opted to share the prosciutto toast and the smoked salmon benedict. My friend also ordered a mocktail. Everything is presented beautifully, however, I wouldn't say that it is at the top of my list of brunch spots for flavors. The food was all a little bit saltier and more tart than I would prefer. Nothing we ordered would be something I would choose again. Separately, we were celebrating my birthday, and a nice card and the tiniest of ice cream scoop was presented at the end. You may want to capture some outdoor photos after your meal although there aren't a lot of varying photo spots around the property as everything is pretty similar from every angle that you stand. However, you can still get some decent landscape shots of the property especially on a beautiful sunny day.

My husband and I stayed at Stanly Ranch for my birthday/easter weekend and decided to try Bear! We had our dog with us so we sat outside. It was a beautiful view of the property from our seats. The food was sooo good! The Kampachi was very refreshing especially paired with the crispy rice. The sourdough bread was made in house and is also something you need to try. For entrees, we had scallops and quail and those dishes were delicious. Pro tip: if there are no reservations online, you can ask the front desk if you're staying at the hotel and they can potentially find a table for you! Also don't skip on the sourdough bread, crispy rice, and kampachi. It's a great starter for the table.

I had high expectations for Bear at Stanley Ranch. While the brunch was great, the dinner really fell flat for us. The menu leans heavily into Asian fusion, and the execution felt a little forced. The crispy rice came highly recommended, but it was honestly nothing memorable. We also ordered the highly recommended peppercorn short rib, which was $100 for two people. Portion-wise it was plenty of food, but the ssam-style presentation felt unnecessary and didn't really elevate the dish. At that price point, I expected something a bit more cohesive and refined. The remainder of the meal (salad and small dishes) were fine, with the tartare with sunchoke being the highlight. I appreciated the fresh local produce used, but would have loved if the menu highlighted what actually came from the Stanley Ranch gardens that day. The biggest issue was that the Asian influence didn't feel particularly authentic or intentional. It might work better if the kitchen either brought in a chef with a stronger background in those flavors or simply leaned more into what California cuisine already does well.

I was so excited to have finally tried Bear at Stanly Ranch and what better time than to celebrate than for our daughter's first birthday and 10 years wedding anniversary! I found Bear online and immediately fell in love with the aesthetics, its warm wooden textures and modern style- I just love the interior/exterior of this restaurant! Good vibes all around, indeed! Driving up to the restaurant, you feel like you're deep in a secluded area of Napa but in reality you are well within Napa's city limit. This illusion of escaping the busy hustle and bustle life is exactly the feeling you'll get if you visit Stanly Ranch. Bear's menu is nothing short of organic and fresh, which are the two worlds that come to mind. Their items are fresh, vibrant and out right gorgeous (peep my pictures!) ;)

Outstanding service from start to finish. While this restaurant is part of a resort, the food is genuinely impressive and that's not something you typically find in a hotel-style setting. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the dishes felt thoughtful and unique, and the drinks were crafted with real purpose (and a few delightful surprises) including in house made chicken broth. What really stood out was the communication between the staff -- seamless, attentive, and professional without ever feeling overbearing. Everything flowed effortlessly. If you're nearby, I strongly recommend stopping in. Elevated, tapas-style dining done right.

Great experience with Rebecca at brunch serving us celebrating our anniversary and I'm glad we chose this place as it was close to our hotel. The property is amazingly beautiful and the food is excellent. Food isn't as good as the Bay Area at this price point though but service made up for it. Everyone was amazing but Rebecca was really good. Even after the service she was very friendly when we ran into her outside and we felt genuine kindness. She got huge splashes of champagne (more like a pour) which was generously on the house for celebration and she helped us take nice photos for remembrance. Loved the cocktail as it was well balanced like she promised and the lavender didn't overpower. Wife likes the oysters which she never does because It's never fresh enough as she's comparing to straight from the water but she really liked these. The chips were house made and unique flavors with large purple potatoes taste almost like fried seaweed. The main courses were lesser than the beginning of the meal but we still enjoyed our time. The veggie menu Egg Benedict was boring and bland and could have been way better. Wish I choose something else but many other options. The focaccia in the tomato dish was good but not ecstatically so like I've had in the past. The sourdough ice cream was fancy but not as good as I thought it would be. It was still excellent but I was hoping for sourdough bread flavors. It was more cheesecake-like which was nice.

Farm vegetables, sourdough, miyagi oysters, half chicken

This is such an amazing and cute restaurant! Our favorites of the evening were absolutely the farm vegetables and the half chicken. For vegetable lovers, the farm vegetables are a must-order. They were complemented so well with the miso dip. The half chicken was surprisingly tender, and the sauce was flavorful and almost addicting. The only major drawback was an issue with server hygiene. I observed the server at the host stand use her finger to scrape food from between her teeth twice, immediately before leading us to our table and handing us the menus. This was quite off-putting and definitely impacted the start of the experience.

Stumbled on this place as we were just arriving to the area-and glad we did. It's part of the bougie Auberge property that houses residences, the beautiful hotel, and the fabulous Stanly Ranch grounds. Super cute ambiance and decorated well for fall. Told them it was my birthday and they included a little birthday card. Drinks: Enjoyed their Petunia, a pineapple, lemon, and Whistlepig 6 year bourbon. A heavy-hitter but a easy to drink. Starters: The Miyagi oysters are a smaller West Coast oyster, similar to Kumamotos, which I enjoyed. People rave about the crispy rice with nuoc cham, and for good reason. Topped with fresh herbs, a flavor bomb sauce, and that crunchy exterior-def a must try. Mains: The Pesto Cavatelli with chantrelles and pepitas was a satisfying pasta dish, while the Sea Bass was a nice, light entree, coupled with the broccolini. All in all a great experience and would return.

Wow! This is a relatively new farm-to-table restaurant nestled in Stanly Ranch, that appears to be a new home development with several shops. Gavel, a nice coffee store, was our first stop. We talked with the on-premise farmer about his work with herbs and vegetables and complimented him on probably the best broccolini we have tasted. The fresh vegetable medley was excellently served in a wood cork bowl with a nice dip. There were vegetables we have never seen like a Cucamelon which looked like a half-inch watermelon and had a cucumber taste. They actually grow this summer delicacy on the property. The apple-nut-Apple pancake was a nice brunch addition. And then there was the side bowl of mixed berries The service was great. They have a nice patio that we didn't try. This is a definite must try for us. We will be back for dinner.

As you might expect the decor is upscale, modern farmhouse for a restaurant called Farm. It's beautiful with modern metal light figures, light color pallets, and large windows. And even though we reserved an indoor table, they accommodated our last minute desire to switch to outdoor seating. Major bonus points for sufficient heating for your outdoor diners, even at the end of May. The service at Farm was excellent. I just want to give a major shout out to Farm for completely accommodating my lactose intolerance. This allowed me to enjoy the dining experience without worry. For drinks they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne as we were celebrating a special occasion. This was a nice way to start the meal. After, I ordered a lemon drop and husband went with his typical old fashioned. Both were very good. Next, they gave us some amuse bouches to start the meal, with a special one for me to accommodate my dairy issue. Love, love it when restaurants do this. I think this especially notable for restaurants not offering a prixe fixe menu. The food was incredible. To start we had the focaccia, which was so, so good. I was also very hungry so I had more than I would have liked before I even got my entree. Oops, but I also have no regrets. For my entree, I really wanted the crab stuffed cod, but this could not be done without dairy so I opted for the eye of ribeye entree. This dish was incredible. The beef was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I don't know what the veggies on the side were exactly, but they were mind-blowingly good. I wish I could make veggies at home taste this good. I firmly believe that it speaks volumes when a restaurant puts as much effort into the sides as it does to its mains. My husband ordered the pizza as his main. He finished it all, but thought the pizza sauce tasted a little unusual, but couldn't put his finger on exactly why. For dessert I had strawberry sorbet, and my husband had the chocolate ice cream. The portions were very generous with three scoops each. I didn't think we would finish them, but they were so good we did. To conclude the meal, they gave us little pate de fruit candies, and cookies to take home with us, including a dairy free one specially for me. This type of experience is on par with Michelin level dining. We had such a fabulous meal here and overall amazing experience with the level of service at the Carneros property that even though we weren't staying as guests, we decided that we will stay at Carneros and will dine again at Farm when we visit again next year.

That and the fact that they have never been to Napa/Sonoma Area in their 36 years in America, meant that my brother and I had to plan a trip. My brother selected Mustards Grill. It was along the way to our reservation to Beringer and continently along St. Helena Highway. Despite hearing about Mustards being a staple within the Yountville area, it was so my first time trying it too. We had a reservation for 4 and after getting taken care of by the courteous host and being welcomed by our waitress, we were left with waters and the menu. To get the most of the experience, my brother thought we should all share several items. We shared their famous Pork Chops, Duck Confit, Ribs and Cornbread, Squash Risotto, and a side of Green Beans. We were offered fresh bread and butter prior to the arrival of our entrees and shortly after enjoying the soft pillowy bread, we were ready for more. My parents, being Cantonese and coming from the restaurant background, really care about having fresh and quality ingredients and letting the flavors shine - not letting sauces dictate the dish. Despite it being American fare, they quite enjoyed each dish and went back for additional helpings after giving a small initial taste of each item. Our visit to Mustards Grill ended up being a joyous meal where my parents got more exposure to the wonders of quality American cuisine as well as marked a good start to the day we were spending in wine county.

We arrived about 30 minutes late, but the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. We were seated right away and greeted warmly, which immediately made the experience feel relaxed despite us running behind. The one thing I knew I had to try here was their famous buttermilk fried chicken. Although I probably should have checked the menu more carefully beforehand, I was a little surprised to find out that Ad Hoc offers a fixed $69 menu, and everyone seated has to participate. I was even more surprised to learn that the famous fried chicken is actually an add-on to the set menu. The whole thing kind of felt like Hermès, where you have to buy all the other restaurant offerings first just to get access to the thing you really came for--the chicken. Lol. Regardless, we went with the set menu and added one order of the fried chicken, which was more than enough to share among four people. It ended up being a great lunch before a full afternoon of wine tastings. The meal started with crudités, and the vegetables were beautifully presented and very fresh. The dip leaned more like a hummus-ranch sauce, which was lighter and not as thick as I personally prefer, so this course was probably my least favorite. Still, it was a nice, refreshing way to start the meal. The main course was pork, which I initially wasn't too excited about because I was still mentally waiting for the chicken. But honestly, it was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked to literal perfection. It ended up being one of the best pork dishes I've ever had, and I would happily order it again. The fried chicken was, of course, amazing. The batter and skin were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, while the inside was juicy, moist, and cooked beautifully. It's genuinely impressive how they manage to make fried chicken taste this perfect and consistent. Dessert was peach cobbler, and even though I'm not usually much of a dessert person, I really enjoyed it. It was warm, comforting, and a sweet way to end the meal. Overall, Ad Hoc was such a fun and satisfying way to start our Napa weekend. While the fixed menu setup and chicken add-on were a little unexpected, the quality of the food made the experience worth it. The pork was a surprise standout, the chicken lived up to the hype, and the service was warm from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxed but elevated Napa meal--especially if you're going for that famous fried chicken.
