When you walk in know what you'd like to order because you place your order first and pay before you are seated. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were not prepared so we ordered the first two items and sat,then they have a menu you can scan and order from your table. We ordered their house buttermilk pancake with maple syrup this was delicous and fluffy,chicken parm was amazing,saucy and cheesy and the zucchini that comes with was so good and lastly we ordered Benny's benedict with bacon and this was ok. Best hash without me telling I'm very picky about my hashbrown. I like it crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My first time to a place I won't give my picky preference but maybe next time. This place did it but mixed - only it was tossed so I get crunchy and soft with each mouthful. I had the corn and scallion omelette w no cheese. Good. While the restaurant does a great job with presentation and using social media to get us in the actual taste was a massive letdown. The Pancakes: Had a bizarre, off-putting flavor that tasted shockingly like fermented beer. The Burger: Was completely overpowered by salt, making it hard to even finish. Delicious food, reasonable prices, and wonderful service. We came in for their prime rib dinner since our whole family loves prime rib and their specials on Sundays are a huge steal! Comes with a side salad and baked potato. Our prime rib came out cooked perfectly and was soaked in Au jus sauce which we appreciate so much since we usually would have to ask for extra on the side at other restaurants. We were excited for this place and saw a long line outside. As I stood in line I looked up Yelp reviews and had second thoughts. I consulted with my friends but a lady in line in front of us said she was a regular and enjoyed the eggs Benedict so we decided to stay and try it. The line is long because you order at the front and then you sit down. There's a good amount of indoor seating and they also offer outside shaded seating. The vibes inside are definitely old school diner/someone's house. They also have a section of games and activities you can borrow to entertain the kids. After you are seated, the service is non existent. We had to waive down a server running around for a few things. They also forgot to deliver our cinnamon bun and it was cold when we received it. So that was a let down. Benny's Benedict (one order with sausage and one order with bacon) 3/5: they serve them on these huge plates and the hasbrown portion already seemed like it was subpar as is. The hollandaise sauce was more on the tangy side. The sausage had good seasoning and was thick. The Farmer Breakfast 4/5: Same as above. We really enjoyed the sausage patties. Fresh Corn + Scallion Omelet 3/5: Wished the scallion had been mixed into the omelet instead of being a topping. Loaded Baked Idaho Potato 4/5: I ordered it without chives but they ended up including them so it ruined the overall experience for me but this was probably my favorite thing we ordered. It was LOADED and the thick crispy bacon elevated it. Big Apple "XL" Cinnamon Bun 3/5: We really loved the apple included in this, but couldn't get past the fact it was cold because it had been sitting on the kitchen window. I was hoping for great French toast, but it was a huge let down. It had a stange sour taste to it and no it was not from the sour dough. Also, it was very dry. Went 2 times in one day since there were so many items on the menu that looked delicious! We love an all day breakfast! It was quite busy (as we went on a Saturday), but they have both indoor and outdoor seating so we didn't worry too much about figuring out where to sit. Drinks ordered: Carrot Juice (large): it was delicious, but I thought it would be more as it was the large size. I think the fact that the glass wasn't full made it seem like a lot less. Cold brew: a classic and not too watered down nor acidic Lemonade: it wasn't bad but I would rather get more carrot juice instead Food ordered: Big Apple XL Cinnamon Bun: I am obsessed with this and have not stopped thinking about this since I last had it! The Farmer Breakfast: a smaller version of the big morning (without the pancake) but this was perfect as I basically inhaled the cinnamon bun myself. My bestie and I decided to have a breakfast date here after seeing an IG reel that put George and Kin on our radar. We purposely came early on a Saturday morning, and I'm glad we did because within 15-20 minutes of arriving, a line had already formed outside. One thing to know is that you order first before being seated, which likely contributes to the wait. There seems to be a decent amount of seating inside, along with a similar amount of outdoor seating, which would probably be lovely on a beautiful morning. I ordered the Farmer's Breakfast with poached eggs and bacon, and since my bestie wanted a pancake, it just made sense to order the Big Morning. Unfortunately, the poached eggs were a miss for both of us. It wasn't until we broke into the yolks that we realized the eggs hadn't been blotted after poaching, leaving a pool of water underneath. As fellow egg lovers, watching that rich yolk mix with water and lose all its magic was a little heartbreaking. The bacon, however, was fantastic. Thick-cut, flavorful, and cooked with a great texture. Definitely the star of the plate. The sausage patties didn't look particularly appetizing, and my bestie only ate about a third, which told me everything I needed to know. The house-made bread gave me that familiar Vallejo spot vibe -- IYKYK. But this wasn't bad, but it also wasn't memorable enough for me to finish, and that's saying something because I love bread. The pancake with bananas and candied walnuts were thicker than your usual pancakes. Not overly thick, but not overly fluffy. My bestie seemed to enjoy it, which is probably a better endorsement than anything I can say. Looking through the rest of the menu, nothing really jumped out that would make us rush back for lunch or dinner. Napa has no shortage of great places to eat, so this may not make it into our regular rotation. That said, give it a try for yourself. It seems like they're going for a modern diner experience, but unfortunately, the overall execution just wasn't there during my visit. The service was one of the biggest disappointments. We often had to flag someone down whenever we needed something, and there were very few check-ins throughout the meal. What surprised me even more was that some of the staff didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu. As a chef, that's something I take seriously. If guests have questions about the food, the staff should be able to confidently explain what they're serving. As for the food, most of the dishes were pretty mediocre. Nothing was particularly bad, but very little stood out or made me want to come back for it. The one exception was the French toast it was easily the best thing we ordered and the only dish that really impressed me. Overall, there is a lot of room for improvement, both in service and in the kitchen. Napa is a competitive food destination, and guests have high expectations. They open at 8am and we got there about 20 after 8 and the line was out the door, probably cause it's new but the wait was about 20 minutes to place order, this is one of those order first and sit down after places. Ordered the chocolate chip pancakes, banana walnut pancakes and the kids breakfast. I underestimated how fluffy these pancakes would be, my fault I didn't notice the picture on the menu advertising them cause they were big! I will say though that the chocolate chip pancakes have an up charge of $2 and they had about ten chocolate chips on them (no chocolate chips inside) so that was disappointing. The banana walnut pancakes were good but the caramelized walnuts did have a bit of a burnt caramel taste. The kids breakfast was good, my son shared some of his food with me and the eggs wee fluffy and hash brown was perfectly crispy. I had chunks of iceberg lettuce (one piece from the core of the iceberg) with some diced tomatoes, bacon (added so much flavor), avocado and blue cheese crumbles. I came by George + Kin's Diner during the soft opening and was welcomed warmly by everyone I met there. The ambiance is super cozy, homey and comforting, and I loved the decorations and small touches like the order numbers being photos of the family. I ordered the smashburger - an amazing deal at only $8.50, and added on the tallow fries for $4. The smashburger was larger than I expected, the lettuce and tomato super fresh, the patty so juicy and the sauce super flavorful - some sort of garlicky sauce that tied it all together perfectly! The tallow fries came in a much larger than expected serving, and are a perfect light crisp with soft fluffy insides. For dessert I got the tart cherry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream - I was honestly stuffed by the time this came out but I loved the nice tart bite of the cherries with the creamy ice cream (which also was perfect for dipping my last few fries into). George + Kin's Diner is an amazing addition to the neighborhood, and I'll definitely be back to try the french toast, pancakes and other super tempting comforting diner classics! read more

This place has been on our hit list since they opened and finally had the opportunity to check it out for breakfast today. My overall rating for this establishment is a solid 4. Food rating: 3.5- We ordered the Curry Udon, Benny's Benedict, and the Pancakes. The Udon was flavorful and the chew on the noodle was perfect, but I felt that it needed a protein. The Benedict was good, but nothing memorable. Where the food fell flat was with their pancakes. I could taste the baking powder and it left a salty metallic aftertaste. The batter could've use some sugar. The pancakes come across more like a biscuit rather than a pancake. Service: 4.5 out of 5.-The waitstaff consistently checked in with us to make sure everything was to our liking. My only complaint is that I asked for cream for my cold brew and the waitress must have forgotten about me. The bartender politely brought some to our table. Ambiance: 4.5 out of 5. The establishment is cute. It reminds me of a small town cozy diner or a dining room of a bed and breakfast. The restaurant and patio are clean. My only complaint here is that the restroom didn't have a toilet bowl cover dispenser .
