We went for a special birthday dinner! The service was impeccable as it is at all link restaurants! The food was incredible and spaced out well !! Totally worth it !!

Delicious and fresh, in a neighborhood we hadn't visited. Loved the small plates and their pasta dish. It was a nice lighter meal which is a good balance in New Orleans. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor and environment was really hip and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Truly top tier food experience! We were lucky enough to snag a four top on a Monday for lunch before flying out. The fried oysters and fried green tomatoes with shrimp were absolutely delectable. For mains, we split the Louisiana Jumbo Shrimp with Butter Beans and tomato confit. The bread basket was perfect to sop up that unctuous sauce left in the bottom of the bowl. After a meal like that, we couldn't pass up the dessert. We opted for the Banana Brown Butter tart with fresh whipped cream that blew our doors off. Sooooo delicious. The only downside was my extremely lackluster Bloody Mary. The bartender needs to spend some time with the bartender at Acme Oyster to learn how to make a better Bloody. Overall, a fantastic send off from the Crescent City.

Amazing food and outstanding service. This place deserves a Michelin Star. Omg. Luckily we skipped lunch before going. We had the arugula salad (amazing - literally do not pass up the opportunity to try it), gumbo, and small plates: the spaghetti with the egg, the short Rio and Louisiana shrimp. The service was attentive, classy yet relaxed and high end but never pretentious or presumptuous. We ended with the Louisiana Shrimp and the server brought us over extra bread for dipping because she knew how amazing the sauce was and also knew it was exactly what we wanted.

Sister dinner on a Saturday night for 3! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We found space at the bar and settled in nicely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was booming![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Entrées took a long while to come out GM offered to takeoff our drinks from the bill as well as offered dessert. I'm glad we stopped here rather than venturing out to Pêche.

Went here last night with a friend for the first time and it was incredible! I loved it. Sarah and Destiny were great waitresses, they were a lot of fun and great recommendations. My friend and I split the cornmeal oysters, which were incredible. He had the housemaid pasta which was made in a delicious creamy sauce topped with a fried egg and guianciale (I think that's what it's called?) it was like a strip of bacon. I had the hard broccoli side, and then they made me an off menu vegetarian dish, which was delicious. They made some type of hazelnut hummus, topped it with some sweet soy sauce, and some chard, broccoli, orange, and some other vegetable, which I wasn't sure what it was, but it was very tasty. We had the fried Blueberry hand pies with the olive oil, ice cream for dessert. They were incredible! So good that I forgot to even take a picture lol. I can see why this place was Michelin recommended! Can't wait to come back!

Herbsaint is by far my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Everything is just executed to such a high level. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food is amazing, the service is awesome & the restaurant has a really nice intimate but jovial atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I stopped by Herbsaint on a Wednesday afternoon. Reservations were a bit tough to grab last-minute, so I ended up with an 8pm slot. Located in the CBD area, parking could be a bit hard. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance inside the restaurant was really nice. It had a more intimate vibe, but was loud & full enough that it still felt casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was really great. Our waiters (yes two) were very attentive & did a great job. We got a lot of stuff from the menu. The gumbo, the beef short ribs, and the banana brown butter tart were by FAR the best. That gumbo was some of the best I've had - it was so flavorful and had such nice depth. It was rich, but not too much & I thought the chicken + andouille had a nice flavor. The short ribs likewise were also very flavorful and so tender. The tart was phenomenal as well. It had such a well executed flavor & felt beautifully balanced with the ice cream. We also got the grilled lamb kofta & the muscovy duck leg confit. Both of these were still delicious, but weren't the stars of the show. Drinks were good here too. But nothing will stand out more than that gumbo short rib and tart. I'd happily go back here.

So one of my guilty pleasures is stopping into Herbsaint after dinner elsewhere for dessert. Don't get me wrong, Herbsaint has an excellent dinner menu that has never steered me wrong, but this review is about their dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Herbsaint is a charming, white tablecloth restaurant and you'll need a reservation because a table seems to always be in demand.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually get the banana brown butter tart, as I've been hooked on it since they opened. This particular dessert was on the sweeter side. However, my friends wanted to try the Fried Apple Hand Pies which stole the show on this visit. The hand pies were expertly prepared and were balanced nicely with cookie butter ice cream. Herbsaint will always be my place when I am craving a guilty indulgence.

I'm giving this one start based upon the food. Everything else was nice. Service was excellent, everyone was pleasant and wait time for food was pretty short, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambience was simple but very cozy, faces the street car super cute, super New Orleans.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food though.....the crudo was really good I prefer my fish sliced a little more thin but overall decent. I also had the Jumbo Shrimp entree. Absolutely trash. I'm trying to figure out if they paid for the Michelin Star. The shrimp was over cooked so I sent it back. The shrimp were still rubbery and then I thought to myself this gotta be frozen shrimp. To top it off the butter beans were not cooked long enough and just way too tomato. I get it's a tomato based dish but it's too much it's over powering the entire dish. I'm not opposed to coming back and trying something else but this is not Michelin Star worthy that's for damn sure.

This was our 1st visit to Donald Link's Herbsaint. We have had the pleasure of dining & quite a few of his other establishments so we're excited to add this one to our history. We dropped in @ 9pm without a reservation as we were looking for a bite after seeing a show & were greeted with a smile & offered either a indoors our outside seating option & we choose the sidewalk offering. The service team was overall friendly & attentive & did not rush us even though we were done of the last diners of the night. The meal was great & the entrees were some of the best of our whole trip to NOLA.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Upbeat ambiance and attentive service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was delicious and well portioned. Lots of vegetarian options as well. House made spaghetti did not disappoint. Desserts were fabulous, don't skip!

Herbsaint brings French-inspired finesse to the heart of New Orleans. The dishes are consistently flavorful-- especially the duck confit, which is a personal favorite. The gumbo leans toward the standard "restaurant gumbo" profile, but it's still a solid offering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cozy ambiance pairs beautifully w| a well-curated cocktail and wine menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Special shoutout to Emily, the sommelier, whose wine knowledge is truly impressive. Service is always gracious, and the streetcar views add a charming touch. I've enjoyed every visit and wholeheartedly recommend it.

Are reservations needed on a Saturday evening?

I would say strongly recommended! I am sure they have walk-ins, but just like in many other similar places, a reservation will ensure you get seated close to the time you want, and not whenever a table is available.

    Is there a dress code?

    No. Casual is good.

She was a bit chatty but still nice. The menu wasn't extensive at all. The waitress did a good job at selling many of the menu options. I initially had the chicken with carrots and brussel sprouts. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and flavored well. The chicken however was very dry. When the waitress asked how it was, I told her how dry it was and she immediately bright me something else, which was the fish and chips. The fish was hot, crispy, and cooked to perfection. It was tender, however it lacked flavor and seasoning. I asked for hot sauce but never received it. I finally decided to ask for a to go box to take the remaining piece home. The chips "fries" were great. They were freshly cut real potato fries. They were hot and seasoned well. My significant other had the shrimp and grits which he thoroughly enjoyed. As an appetizer we had the salad. Seemed simple and basic enough but was actually very good. I'm unsure of the dressing it was tossed in but it was just enough and well flavored. We skipped on dessert. We considered the cookie plate but since nobody could tell us what kind of cookies they were, so we decided to pass. The best part about our dining experience was the ambiance. The music was nice and the decor was vibrant and swanky . I also had a mocktail flavored with pineapple, jalapeno, lime, mint, and cilantro. It was refreshing. I'm glad we had a chance to check it out before closing but I can honestly say there was no "WOW" factor and likely I wouldn't have been in a hurry to come back.

Pam asked how I'd like it cooked and suggested it to be cooked at medium rare. I couldn't do that since I'm barely starting to get used to my steaks being cooked at medium, but it was still absolutely delicious. The sauce that was glazed on top, as well as the seasoning of the steak killed it!! The salmon was also delicious. Very flavorful. The stuffed potatoes were ok, we liked their side of fries more than that. Drinks were tasty and refreshing. Worth the price. We also got dessert, a chocolate cake and apple pie. My wife ordered a steak Frites well well done and half of her portion slices were medium rare. We started with deviled eggs those were tasty I can recommend that and the shrimp cocktail was good enough. The crab salad was bland it needed something else to liven up the flavor a spoon luck of mayo maybe some pepper or salt. Pepper and salt and all the condiments are on the table which I've never a fan of it. The fine dining restaurants think it means they fancy but this food wasn't fancy the place was nice. The Service needs to be retrained. We ate here because we were seeing the old-fashioned Magic show at Eliza Jane next-door and if you wanna come in for some apps or maybe try or the other entrées I didn't find anything. I really wanted to try because I'm not a big fan of French food I guess I should've tried the duck. There may be some good food here, but I won't be back till to find out we were both underwhelmed. Hopefully they fix the problems if somebody else gives a better review, but I cannot. We both agree the french fries were good. Ambience is pretty good with their remodeling so the bathroom was like a 5 to 10 minute wait it's only one person at a time and women kept using the men's room because it's only. So I had to wait two times for women to come out. Single serve bathrooms definitely are not adequate, but they're doing the best they can during remodeling.

HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE from the service to the wait and even down to the food. If you want to write…read morea book on how not to run a restaurant, start your thesis here. Trying to make a reservation here is like breaking into Fort Knox, nobody answers the phone and when we finally did get a res two weeks out, they MOVED the res ONE HOUR before we were set to arrive. When we arrived the place actually looked very nice and the hostess was helpful in getting us seated, and those were the last moments of happiness we would experience over the next 2 hours. We ordered bottomless mimosas for around 6/10 people in our party. Every single time our bottle of champagne ran out we had to either ask for more or get up and walk over to the bar to request it. When we finally did order our food we were pretty excited, but little did we know we would have enough time to walk down to the morning parades and catch some beads before it would actually come out. From ordering to when our food arrived was a total of 1.5 HOURS. We were 5 minutes away from just walking out. You would think "wow, this food took so long to arrive! It must be good!" WRONG. They spent the hour and a half making our food to turn our order of french toast into a two sided coin, one side normal looking, the other black as coal. Ahh, who needs the hour and a half long wait for their french toast when you can have the duck and waffles, right? And then they brought us a plate of one waffle and a single duck leg for $30. At this point we started looking around for cameras because we thought we were being pranked. Not a single person in our 10 person party (and that's a lot of chances) found this place even remotely close to mediocre. Others had their chicken sandwiches arrive cold, salads arrive bad, and come on how do you mess a salad up? The worst part was seeing a couple get up and walk out from the wait and realizing we were the poor bastards that stayed. It's a shame because the spot itself looks nice, but I guess if you paint s**t pink, it's still s**t. Don't come here.
