There was a late Sunday after Jazz test and we got an reservation an hour. I normally don't like to dine in. They accommodated us wonderfully with a beautiful table in the back dining area. My friends she started with a French 75 and I got a GINGER JULEP- Four Roses, ginger syrup, ginger beer, mint. Both were well made and tasty. She ordered the Shrimp Stuffed Gulf Oysters bread crumbs, ravigote, parmesan. Being Celiac I tried the Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp & Grits roasted jalapeño cheese grits andouille & green onion sausage after last year enjoying Luke's raw oysters and scallops. This dish was a different take on Shrimp and grits that was a delight in each bite. Luke has great service in rooms with high ceilings making for a very comfortable ambiance surrounded by a beautiful bar and interesting furniture. An excellent meal again by Luke.
Our waitress was amazing! So personable, nice, and checked in. Drinks were orders. It was good. Actually came cause we got in late from the airport and it was near our hotel and no wait. Idk if its any good but many people in the surrounding tables had burgers. They looked huge! I think it would but shareable. I dont eat oysters but my table said they were really good. They got bbq oyster i think the flavor was. I got the duck breast it was decently, roast chicken was good, bake Jalapeños grit were okay ( expecting more Jalapeños and cheese with spice). Drinks i had seersucker and it was good. After traveling it was nice to be able to stop, have no wait, and get a meal for the night
Good food, but a little out of temp and that's because I ordered it through room service. The steak frites was cooked perfectly and the fries were nice and seasoned well. The bread I got which was a new Orleans staple was supposed to be warm as it was advertised that way but it was cold and hard. The aioli was good. The burger was good and cooked medium. The bacon was nice and thick. The fries were seasoned well. The breakfast was not good. The French toast was horrible, fruit was warm and flavorless, the biscuit was cold and hard, and the eggs were not seasoned well. Not sure how they messed breakfast up, but I would stay away. They also delivered an already opened coke bottle with my room service, but quickly fixed it when I called to tell them. Overall, I would probably just get the burger and steak frites maybe eating there will give me hotter food
First meal ever in New Orleans and it stared w a bang. The dinner started with a crawfish and corn chowder that was exceptional. I also found out that crawfish are not as big as what I thought were closer to the size of shrimp. A generous bowl that I shared and it was really a great start to the meal. For my meal, I had to char broiled swordfish that came with vegetables cooked to perfection. I always like my vegetables cooked a little on the soft side and that's what exactly what I got. It also came with grapefruit which you don't expect with a dinner, but it was very nice. My only thought was that the swordfish could've been cooked a little less. It was closer to being well than raw, but that might've been the function of doing it on the grill. My wife had the Crawfish and Cavatelli Etouffee which was perfect. It had plenty of sauce and crawfish cooked to perfection. She loved it and I also thought the same. For dessert we tried the Strawberry Gateau Breton which was wonderful. It was a cake w strawberries and pistachios on top. Along with it came a small shot of homemade ice cream. We shared this and it was a wonderful end to the meal. Paul was our waiter and had all the answers for our questions. He constantly back at our table checking to make sure everything was perfect. This was a cozy layout with a mix of larger and small tables offering a nice dinner for any occasion. Leaving a 4 because I would have enjoyed the swordfish if it was cooked less
We came during happy hour, so naturally oysters were at the top of our order and they did not disappoint. The oysters were amazing. They were huge, incredibly fresh, and honestly some of the best we had during our time in New Orleans. We also tried seafood etouffee along with gumbo. The gumbo was decent, nothing particularly memorable, but the seafood etouffee really stood out. The cheese grits that came with it added so much flavor and richness and ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. Since this was our first meal in NOLA, it set a great tone for the rest of the trip. The atmosphere felt lively yet comfortable, service was smooth, and overall we really enjoyed ourselves. A solid spot to start your New Orleans food journey, especially if you're coming for happy hour oysters.
This restaurant was very good. The service was fast and attentive. We shared the brussels sprouts which were phenomenal. I had the shrimp & grits. I felt that the portion was small (4 medium sized shrimp) and a small portion of grits, but it tasted good. My husband had Cavatelli with Lamb ragu which he loved. For dessert we shared the Graham cracker cake, which was AWFUL. The menu description said: warm fudge, honeycomb ice cream, toasted marshmallow. There was no fudge on it, the ice cream was hard and tasted old and the cake was dry. It was terrible, do not recommend it. Other than the dessert, we enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere was nice.
A recommendation from a local always leads to great discoveries! Luke is on the St Charles streetcar route which makes it very accessible. We went for lunch & at the suggestion of the wait staff, we selected shareables to sample their specialties & items that were unique to us. The dining hall is quite relaxed & stylish with white linens. Each of the dishes we chose were very tasty & flavorful. The fried oyster salad was a 1st for us & it was surprisingly delicious! We should have brought attention to the flatbread though. It seemed stale. We picked off the salmon & beets & that was good. This is a restaurant worth revisiting when we return someday.
Everything was great, the food, the drinks, the service and the ambiance! We ordered the Escargot and Bone Marrow withroasted garlic, fine herbs, toasted baguette, Steak Frites grilled hanger steak, brown butter béarnaise, Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp & Grits roasted jalapeño cheese grits, andouille & green onion sausage, Herb Roasted Chicken with sweet potato cornbread, braised collard greens, parmesan, and the Gulf Oysters. Everything was great. It didn't disappoint. We found another favorite restaurant!
The customer service was great, the food was good. Like I said in all my food post for New Orleans, you can literally walk down any single street and turn into any restaurant and find some amazing food. This restaurant was very unique. They have these really cool boars head mounted to the wall. I asked the waitress if that was Luke. She said it wasn't. The food here is very good, I went with this pork dish, quite good, the gumbo was phenomenal. That was probably my favorite along with the dessert. Are waitresses from the United Kingdom. I joke with her a bit regarding the Bland food that she came from now she's in the epicenter for some of the most amazing season food in the world. The customer service was great, she had a great attitude, and the food came out promptly. This is a very unique restaurant serving up some amazing dishes. Easy five star review.
I attended a group dinner at Luke, and enjoyed a nice meal. We had a semi-large party and were sat near the entrance of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and continued to check on us throughout the night. For my main course, I ordered the fried oyster salad. As a side, I added the cheese grits. Both were really good and made well. I hadn't had true southern cheese grits in years, and this one took the cake. Overall, I hadn't a good experience at Luke and I appreciate the service we received.

The Luke was honestly one of the best restaurants we went to while in New Orleans. It was attached to the Hilton hotel. I mean seriously the different shrimp dishes, to the omelette was unreal. My wife said it was the best omelette she's ever had. The ambiance was great and for the price of this place it's super fair. Not only that but the kind of service you get here is unmatched. Especially Lanicka who was our server for both of the days we were there. Fantastic breakfast experience. Lastly, I now fully know what chicken and waffles can taste like. I now understand the appeal. read more

Service - perfection. Food - We ordered a selection of items, including the Leidenhimer loaf, Flammenkuchen, gumbo, parm potatoes, shrimp and grits, and the pork schnitzel. The loaf was okay, the flammenkuchen was really delicious and rich, the gumbo was cold and tasted fishy (the staff removed this from our bill) the pork schnitzel was the best I've ever had, pa potatoes were heavenly, and the shrimp and grits will haunt my dreams forever. We came during happy hour, so naturally oysters were at the top of our order and they did not disappoint. The oysters were amazing. Bartender was giddy and never made the drinks and after 10 mins realized it and sent over a guy to make them. The racket from the silverware rolling was super obnoxious. Pics of both are included. Gumbo is mid at best. There are much better options in this town. read more
Upon arriving in New Orleans, my wife and I strolled over to Luke for their Happy Hour menu and dinner. It was happy hour, so my wife ordered the Seersucker, and I ordered a Black Velvet. The Black Velvet was amazing, I highly recommend it to any chocolate/coffee lovers. We had to order the oysters appetisers because they looked so good. We got the fried oysters and 6 raw oysters off their Happy Hour menu, which is an incredible deal. They were fantastic, and highly recommend getting them to start. My wife noticed the couple next to us received their shrimp and grits, which looked amazing. The couple said they are regulars and always go to Luke's for their shrimp and grits. So that settled it, my wife ordered shrimp and grits, and I got the pork schnitzel. The shrimp and grits did not disappoint, my wife loved them. The schnitzel was ginormous! It was more than one human could possibly eat at a sitting, so it was a very good value. By the time we finished all these, we had no room for the desserts (which looked fantastic by what I saw on tables next to us). read more
This is the place to go for New Orleans oysters! There are so many types to choose from and all are tasty. We had barbeque oysters which were tasty. We happened to dine here the weekend of Halloween and were privileged to meet a group of witches! That added to the fun of our evening. The noise level was pretty high for me. Unfortunately, it was hard to hold a conversation. The service was prompt and the waiter was just as courteous. He put up with our many orders. read more

Come here for happy Hour. It's inside the Hilton Building. You can use your Hilton voucher at Luke's if you are staying there. Butter was very salty. The good thing is there are more varieties on the oysters. I think you can get better deals in the French quarter. The tuna tartar is not something to write home about. We went in during happy hour and the raw oysters and trout dip was so yummy! The trout in the dip didn't have a fishy taste and I loved the Brightsides oyster the best! The service from our waitress was also wonderful and she gave such detailed and funny descriptions of each types of oyster! read more
Our go to place for fried oyster happy hour when in town for the Fried Chicken Festival. I feel like the employees say, " Here come those fried oyster addicts!" And we don't mind one bit. Delicious and that ranch is drinkable! Drink specials don't hurt either. For something healthy we enjoyed seafood gumbo and fresh corn bisque. Just adore this place! read more

We started by sitting in the back section with Kate, Tristin and Curtis as our server team. We were sent an order of Gumbo to try. Chunks of beef, shrimp, okra and rice in a lightly spicy rouix. Very nicely made. warm loaf of bread followed which was great for dipping in the Gumbo. Extra charge which always disturbs me. My wife had the beet salad with goat cheese which she loved! Sweet and tasty. Next came the main dishes, My wife ordered BBQ Gulf oysters, and I ordered the schnitzel as i could not resist. The Grits were just spicy enough and the trout was tasty not over seasoned. kitchen view in the background. The oysters were delicious and perfectly flavored and cooked. Unfortunately my meal took longer to come out of the kitchen and after everyone was done the schnitzel came out. Over 10 min later I finally got it, The flavor and crunch was perfectly done and the schpatzle and mushrooms had good flavor not like grandma's but good. After a few bites I realized there is a lite kick of spice on the backend. I liked it but others did not. For dessert We went with a bread pudding. Topped with Vanilla ice cream and a warm Bourbon sauce. it was very tasty. Made up for the late meal. read more

Luke came highly recommended by our Uber driver for oysters and quality drinks. Happy Hour is daily from 3-6pm and is the way to go. Drinks and oysters are half price. I can't say enough good things about Luke's. We sat up at the bar and sampled the Gulf dozen oysters, fried oysters, and the smoked trout dip with crackers. Everything was fresh and delicious. The drinks were normally $14-15 but during HH they are half off. These are handcrafted cocktails with top shelf liquors. The French 75 was good but my favorite was the Black Velvet (if you please). It was made with walnut liqueur, creme de cacao, and espresso. Luke is located in the Central business district near Canal Street. It's walkable to the French Quarter and worthy of a visit. It seemed to be more locals than tourists that find their way here but that was just fine with us. Service was fast and efficient and the food and drinks top-notch! read more
Visited Luke while in New Orleans. The atmosphere was clean, bright, and slightly business-leaning, and the service was inconsistent -- good at times, but it missed the mark on others. Tried a few dishes, starting with fresh oysters -- we ordered two rounds, and at happy hour pricing they were a great value. The Ragout of Braised Lamb with Cavatelli was very good and comforting, though I would have preferred small chunks of lamb instead of shredded meat for more texture. The Steak Frites was just okay and didn't quite justify the price point. Overall, worth checking out once, but not a spot I'd rush back to. Saluti read more

wowowow! Just wow! So good had me coming back for a second time and potentially another in the near future before my trip ends soon! Came here w my girls the first time bc I hadn't ate yet for a late lunch and the oysters were fresh and the vibes immaculate. The happy hour is a must here, half off cocktails and great bites to pair with said drinks! Bone marrow and escargot, smoked trout dip, and chefs gulf dozen were great shareables with friends. fried gulf oysters were delicious as well. Side of Parmesan red potatoes were a generous portion of garlicky smashed potatoes. Gumbo must've been good bc I only got a spoon in before it was devoured lol the ragout lamb dish had a cool pasta shape now added to my tried pasta list but not my personal fave due to the heavy tomatoness as well as green tomatoes but the lamb was tender and cooked beautifully. They also do split dishes which is a great option for those trying to share or divide and conquer more items on the menu. Not to the restaurants fault, but a customer couple sitting right of us must have had a bit too much to drink that day. The manager and staff came up to us to check up on us and apologize and even comped us a bread pudding that was so delicious I only have the photo of the empty bowl. Warm pudding topped w vanilla ice cream and hot caramel esque sauce and warm toasted pecans. Loved our experience at Luke!! Came here for the Oyster Happy Hour, but left so satisfied with all our other food as well. The oysters were fresh and delicious; and all the other dishes were cooked perfectly and so flavorful. I couldn't stop eating. You have to get Brendan's Bread Pudding to end your night because it was so decadent and the candied pecans were a treat. Service was fantastic and friendly. The interior is nicely decorated and great as a date spot; it reminds me some brasseries in France. All in all, one of our favorite dining moments in New Orleans. Highly recommend. read more
I absolutely loved my visit here for happy hour! The service is outstanding and so friendly, and the overall ambience is classy while being welcoming. We ordered raw and fried oysters which were fresh and delicious, as well as gumbo (rich and deep broth), trout dip (super crispy crackers with lots of fish), and broccolini (refreshing and crunchy while still being well cooked). We were quickly seated and our server came by to take our order without too long of a wait. We ordered the southern breakfast, classic style. The eggs were abit overcooked/didn't taste fresh and the bacon was extremely dry. For $24 the meal was abit disappointing. It was too loud., The food was okay, nothing too special but it filled a hole. I tried the fish dish and it was a bit bland for my taste. The service was decent though, friendly enough. I probably wouldn't rush back, but it wasn't a terrible experience. Maybe I'll try something different next time if I'm in the area again. read more

I've been here once while on vacation, so this review is based on one visit. That being said, the service was great and the staff were quite personable. For the food, I ordered the fried chicken with red beans and rice, and the bone marrow appetizer. The fried chicken was very good and the portion size was large. I wasn't as big of a fan of the bone marrow; it wasn't bad, it just felt like it wasn't very flavorful. Based on this one experience, I'd recommend read more

I walked by this place the last few times I've been in NOLA and it's always busy. Now I know why! We enjoyed the appetizers - especially the smoked scallops and Brussels Sprouts. The entrees were terrific. I enjoyed the crawfish pasta etouffee and my coworker said the swordfish was great. We were served by a pair of waiters who were great. The atmosphere is lively. Are there any menu choices with less spice, or are they willing / able to tone down the spice on menu items like shrimp & grits or jambalaya? I love the way spicey food tastes but don't have the stomach for it any longer.

Are the breakfast shrimp and grits different than the dinner shrimp and grits? It's called something different. If they are different, which is better?

Is parking available?
We walked since it was so close to where we were staying. It's attached to a hotel so I'm fairly sure they have parking. Not free, I am guessing. I would just Uber if it were me.

Hi Denise, we absolutely do still offer our Shrimp and Grits! There may have been some confusion because they are listed on the menu as Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp "En Cocotte."
Are cocktails included in your happy hour menu?

Para dos puede solamente ir como 15 minuto antes de las hora que quieres comer. Perro para estar seguro es mejor llamar y reservar una mesa. También al las tres de las tardes ata las seis ellos tienen Happy hora y los tragos son medio precio.
