Vyoone's is a great spot for dinner with friends or special occasions. It's a charming restaurant which catches your attention as you walk through the lights into the beautiful courtyard. The main dining room is quaint and charming as well. Service here is consistently excellent. Now to the food, lol! I had the Poisson Et Pates which was phenomenal, and quite a generous portion. The redfish with lemon beurre blanc sauce was cooked perfectly and the crawfish stuffing was the perfect accompaniment. My friend had the Coteletes D'argneau Grillees and said their lamp chops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. However, they were dismayed that the menu stated it would come with vegetables in addition to mashed potatoes and it was missing the vegetables. Ok let me say this.... this place is amazing. From the cosy at home feel with the owner chatting it up and serving you like you a cousin from out of town visiting for the first time, to the impeccable food that provided a serious party of flavor in my mouth, to the cutest pass through a lit up alley with draped lights that lead you into wonderland of enchantment. I'm not exaggerating at all. I was not expecting the opening on the other side of the alley of lights. The whole environment was inviting and comforting all at once. The food, let's get into that. I'm currently on lent and fasting off meat and alcohol so we tried the escargot and as I type this I'm wondering if I should have eaten that. It does slug on the earth! I may need to repent for that slip up. They were served on a bone and the chef carved the marrow out and created a delectable sauce. The scallops were baked in something amazing, I'm pretty sure I could look back at the menu and tell you in what it was baked but I'll leave that to you. What I will say is that when, not if k go back I will order two orders of the scallop appetizers. My entree was redfish on a bed of pasta with spinach and tomatoes. The whole time my taste buds were screaming this should be blackened because I like blackened, so I asked the owner and she said that some of her regulars get it blackened, so the next time I go I'm getting it blackened because I'm going to be a regular. That's not all since I'm not drinking alcohol we had mocktails. I had a peach cinnamon gig and the second time around I asked that ginger beer be added and boom, that was off the chain! So much so, the owner liked it too. I said name it Dr Moctail. If you go, ask Vyoone about the drink. All in all celebrating my homie was great! Came here for the first time recently and it was a good experience! I loved how quaint and tucked away it felt from the busy warehouse district! The entry way is so great and a nice spot for a photo opp! I'm a local and this spot had been on my list for a while! We started with the crab cake app and the scallops. We brought our own wine and the corkage fee is 25 for anyone who is wondering!! Our wine paired great with the steak and BBQ shrimp. We also ordered the lamb chops which were pretty good! We finished with white chocolate bread pudding for dessert! The food was good but not the main star. It was almost great but lacked flavor a bit. For the price point I expected a bit more flavor considering it's "cajun flavor meets fine dining" if you will. The service was really great! This is a cozy and charming French spot in the Warehouse District, convenient for visiting conventioneers like myself. The restaurant has a smallish dining room and bar, a lovely outdoor courtyard and, I believe, private dining rooms upstairs overlooking the courtyard. The entrance is via a cute walkway past the dining room. Vyoone is the (female) owner/founder's first name. The cuisine is French with some Creole and Afro touches. Longtime waiter Spence assisted greatly in choosing what to order. I started with the crabcakes and French onion soup, both were pretty classic presentations done very well. My entree was the Duck a l'Orange, a confit duck leg and thigh served over a mushroom bread pudding and asparagus with an orange-ginger sauce. Again, tasty and classic. The peach upside down cake was a nice finish. There is a sizable cocktail and wine list, but I had a mocktail instead. The courtyard was a very pleasant dining location. Spence was great, the staff who actually brough the food less so, saying nary a word. Overall a pleasant meal within walking distance from my hotel. read more

Vyoone's is definitely a must try in the Warehouse District. Not only is the space full of New Orleans charm with a gorgeous courtyard with string lights strewn throughout. There's two levels to the restaurant and the entire space can be rented out for events. Vyoone's has hosted weddings, birthday parties, corporate events and more. The food is beyond delicious as the menu is inspired by French and Afro-creole recipes from the owner's mother's kitchen. My favorite items include the famous French onion soup, the crab cakes and crawfish beignets. The desserts are also the absolute best- my favorite is the bread pudding and then the peach cake. The service is A-1, the owner is onsite frequently and is always checking in with guests. It's so lovely to have such a personal touch. I can't wait to go back for more of the menu. read more

I went to this restaurant last night, where I had a delicious salad with a champagne vinaigrette, followed by the best crabcakes I have ever had aside from the ones on the Maryland coast many years ago. The crabcakes were filled with mild, delicate, and delicious crab coated with a thin layer of perfectly browned, homemade Panko and a lovely creole sauce, which I washed down with a fragrant glass of Burgundian Chablis. The French Onion Soup is probably the best I've had...just perfect. The crawfish beignets lacked flavor. Our entrees were very disappointing. We also got the scallops and it was great as well. Also the entrance is beautiful! I would have given it a 5 stars except for our waiter. We came here with a couple friends during COOLinary, hoping to have a good dinner with the prefixed meal. It happened to be the weekend of white linen night, which is right around the corner from them, and they had decided to not do the COOLinary menu that night for the event. It was a little disappointing but we understood why and that it was partly a lack of planning on our part. The server was very kind and went to check with the kitchen to see what could be done, and thankfully they allowed us to have one of the two entrees meant for the prefixed menu. We thought it was gonna be a good dinner from there but it felt like the food let us down every step of the way until the dessert. The French onion soup was too salty and I only ate half of it. The beef Wellington appetizer had the pastry undercooked and the beef over cooked. I think this was our biggest disappointment because we were looking forward to it the most. The filet was standard, it was cooked properly. It didn't disappoint but also didn't blow us away. The white chocolate bread pudding was the best part of our meal. It wasn't overly sweet or rich, it was just right! Overall, we weren't very happy with this place for the quality of food. The service was good and tried to be as accommodating as they could, which we really appreciated. So three stars for service and location. I don't think we'll return here anytime soon. read more

A nice bartender at Pat O'Brien's recommended to go to Vyoone's so we had to add it to our trip. I first came here in 2021 and ordered the award winning French Onion Soup. It was my first time trying the dish and it was so delicious and perfect. We made a second trip to NOLA and we made sure to add Vyoone's to our list again. However, this time, the soup tasted different and too salty. It was a little disappointing compared to the first time but it was still good. The servers are very friendly and welcoming. Great service and quaint French experience. We were greeted and seated by the Owner, Yvonne, she was welcoming and served as our primary server for this birthday dinner. Located outside of the hustle and bustle of The French Quarter and is in the Central Business District which means parking was still at a premium. We lucked up and found a parking space about a block away. We arrived a tad late for our reservation, but was assured that we would still have a memorable experience. We ordered the soup du jour which was a gumbo. It was tasty, but in a city that is known for its gumbo, I would recommend you leave that dish to the locals. We also ordered the crab cakes and salmon crevettes, this was Yvonne's version of smoked salmon with capers, dill herbed cream cheese served with toasted baguette. The crab cakes, served as an order or 2 was the best appetizer hands down. The other two while plated nicely were a bit bland. For our entrees, we both ordered the grilled fish with andouille sausage stuffing served over top of house made noodles, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes finished with a lemon butter Blanc Sauce. The dish was seasoned nicely, Presented beautifully but request a little extra sauce when ordering the dish versus once you have already began eating the dish. We ordered dessert to go because we were already full. We ordered bread pudding and a Chocolate Cake. There is a small outdoor courtyard that allows for outdoor dining. read more

Found ourselves a group of 6 and no plan for dinner. We happened in Vyoone's and I'm thrilled we did. A long hallway of hanging lights (think Christmas) greets the walk into the dining room. I believe it is Ms Vyoone who greets you at the front and sees you to a cool vibe, comfortable, this is what I think when I think Nola kind of room. The servers truly seem they are thrilled you are there. The bar is in sight of the tables and they are having fun too. The gumbo and French onion soups are a must. We were hoping to be sat as a walk in t nearby Merils but the wait was going to be a couple hours and we were not interested in waiting that long so we walked down the block and nearly right next door saw the lovely Vyoone's through the window and it looked like they had availability. We we graciously seated and an incredibly unexpected but truly enjoyable dining experience unfolded. The ambiance i see fantastic. You ca comfortably talk to your friends with isn't always possible in the cacophony of many established NOLA landmark restaurants.
