This place had reservations available last minute on a Saturday night in the French quarter during jazz fest so we went. And it was such a pleasant surprise! It's tiny but efficient with sweet smiley wait staff and a straightforward "accessible" French menu. Bonus: full bar! We ordered Negronis while waiting (not very long) for our starter salad (so fresh and dressed just right), steak fritte and grilled salmon. The steak was ribeye cooked to perfection and came with a light flavorful au jus; shoestring fries were excellent. The salmon and mashies went down smoove. The kitchen was closing but they made us a banana crepe anyway and we also ordered the chocolate mousse cake that was insanely delicious. My only criticism was that the espresso and tea was delivered and drunk before dessert was served. We loved it so much I dreamed about it all night and returned for dinner again the next night. We felt so lucky to find this place before it gets discovered and is no longer easy to get a rezzy. Btw second night we had a monte cristo and croque madame, and once again we were very impressed. The proprietress came around to all tables and was so welcoming. We will definitely be back next time we hit NOLA (and won't be surprised if they've moved to a bigger location by then)! read more

We visited Izzat yesterday for breakfast and it was an absolute standout. I had the banana and cream crepe, which was perfectly made and genuinely one of the best I've had. Ava's oats were delicious and comforting, and Lee's avocado on toast alongside a banana and Nutella crepe was just as impressive. Every dish was spot on -- fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. The service was equally excellent -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. It really made the whole experience even better. What makes Izzat even more of a gem is how it compares to other nearby spots. Just up the road, there was a huge queue outside Ruby Slipper, but honestly, you're far better off heading straight to Izzat. No waiting around, and the food is on another level. We actually tried Ruby Slipper the next day (even with a booking), and it was a completely different experience -- long delays, we weren't seated, and the hostess was quite rude. A stark contrast. We enjoyed Izzat so much that we've already booked to go back for dinner, which says everything. If you're in New Orleans and want a fantastic breakfast without the hassle, Izzat is the place to go. If you're craving the best French dip sandwich, you gotta come here! Izzat is a cute and cozy little bistro decorated with blue and white. The decor reminded me of France, and the menu had great French highlight dishes. When we entered, the servers were super attentive and sweet. We got seated in no time, and all our food came out quickly. We started with some hot lattes and then split the French dip and the house salad. The French dip was SO GOOD! The bread was crisp and buttery with a good char, and the steak was super tender and flavorful with the au jus. There was a good amount of cheese and onion in the sandwich too. The shoestring fries were addictive and crunchy. The salad was a good complement dish with the heavy foods. The salad was super refreshing and a big portion. We had such a wonderful experience at Izzat! Our server, Eliz, was incredibly kind and attentive. She recommended the Croque Madame, and it did not disappoint--absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the sandwiches were packed with flavor. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict, which he loved, and we also tried the crêpe--it was amazing and so unique compared to other crêpes we've had before. The owner greeted us with a warm smile and was so genuinely nice, which made the experience feel even more welcoming. On top of that, they also offer a military discount, which we truly appreciate. The atmosphere gave me beautiful French morning vibes--relaxed, cozy, and full of charm. This is hands down my new favorite crêpe shop. They're a new spot and an absolute must-try! We came here for our last meal of our New Orleans trip--a French restaurant with over 600 Google reviews and a perfect 5-star rating. Whenever I visit a French restaurant, I always want to order a fish dish, so I chose the Fish Meunière, and it was absolutely wonderful. The onion soup and even the salad dressing were excellent as well. The French dip had perfectly moist bread, and the filling was, of course, flawless. To finish, the crème brûlée was perfect--the thickness of the caramelized sugar layer and the jelly-like set of the custard were cooked to absolute perfection. If you're ever in New Orleans, you'd have to come try Izzat! Just one street over Canal, they recently open this place a couple of months ago and we had a pleasure to dine with them for brunch! We got the French Onion Sandwich, French Omelet, and Banana & Creame Crepe! Everything was amazing! The Omelet was so soft and fluffy The French Onion Sandwich was very flavorful, the chef really balance the flavors very well, nothing overpowering the other! The Banana & Creame Crepe was to die for, very delicious and light! The staff is amazing as well! This is in a sense, family owned and everyone was so friendly! I had an incredible experience at Izzat New Orleans Cafe. This French-inspired spot is absolutely beautiful and clearly run with a lot of pride. I ordered the French Dip, and it was delicious; the housemade au jus was a highlight. I finished with a top-notch Illy cappuccino and their homemade creme brûlée, which was excellent. The service was super attentive and friendly. I had a chance to speak with the owner, who is very nice and easy to talk to; you can really tell how much she cares about the quality of the cafe. The staff were so sweet, accommodating, and attentive. The food was stellar!!! I ordered the mussels because I knew how much my wife loves them and she demanded we cancel our reservation at a well known steak house tonight so we can go back again for dinner. The cafe is at 407 Iberville, just a stone's throw away from Canal Place near the heart of the French Quarter. The sourdough bread is exquisite and locally sourced. Pricing is extremely affordable compared to other local options while the quality is 5-star level. The chefs are classically trained and you can taste it in the food! Let me tell you something. This french dip is other-worldly good. It's not a normal sandwich. Other sandwiches would be lucky to be a crumb falling from the plate of this french dip. The bread was surprisingly soft, melty and flavorful; the roast beef was tender and perfect.....I could go on. As a 49 year old it's hard to say what is the "best sandwich" I've ever had, so I'll just say that I've NEVER had a better one!! PS- the salad with HOMEMADE balsamic vinaigrette is, not surprisingly, other-worldly good as well!!!! Fun street-side atmosphere, and the server was super-attentive and personable. We had such a wonderful experience at Izzat New Orleans! We went for dinner and loved it so much that we came back for breakfast the next morning! The service was some of the friendliest and most amazing we've had--everyone made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The French onion soup was absolutely the best, the Bloody Mary was perfect, and the crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending to dinner. For breakfast, the Farmers Fold omelette was delicious and the café mocha was amazing. Everything was outstanding, and we will definitely be back again before we head home. In a town filled with great food, does it tell you something when we had breakfast *and* dinner at Izzat? Yes, it's *that* good. We were delighted when we found no line out front (although, maybe this review will change that?) when we arrived for breakfast (same for dinner). We were seated immediately, and enjoyed attentive service the entire time, while having a splendid meal (both times). Everything was delicious, especially the French Onion Soup! Me and a friend came here for a quick brunch, and we sat in the outside seating since the weather was nice. Our server was very sweet and the food was great! Not sure where they source their bread from, but it was SO yummy (especially the sourdough). The flavors of everything we tasted were simple, but tastefully paired. Not to throw shade at other brunch spots in the city... but the prices were so fair here, and the food quality surpassed most of the more popular spots I've eaten at. read more

I had the ham and cheese crêpe that came served with a side salad and honestly with all the fried food that you can get in New Orleans, this place's ambiance was spot on. Izzat provides wonderful, friendly service and great food. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating. We were staying at a nearby hotel and IZZAT became our go-to place for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed their sandwiches, the spinach and artichoke crepe, the french toast and a creme brulee. All were wonderful. The espresso as well as pinot noir and chardonnay wines were also very good.
