Café Malou's true stars are their baked egg dishes! They opened about two months ago and are connected to Octavia Bookstore, which makes it an even cuter stop! The French press was divine, and everything we ordered tasted fresh... the grits, the eggs, the bacon... even the sourdough bread was perfect (from Bellegarde Bakery). Flavor definitely delivered here. It's such a lovely spot to pop in for a quick breakfast or brunch, and the brown butter chocolate chip cookie did not disappoint either. I would honestly come back again. Super cute space, kind and welcoming staff, and just a really great experience all around!

Chill morning, I'm here very early and beating the rush

Delicious food, great service, peaceful atmosphere. Their orange cardamom iced coffee is very tasty. I love their croissants and the Croque Me Somethin Mister is to die for.

Our food was really good. New little breakfast/lunch cafe that we were refered to after a long shopping walk on Magazine St. I had grits carbonara and the mister had a Cobb. Ambience is LOUD!!!! Service was good

Not even close to the requested crispy bacon.

Disappointed to have another subpar experience here. I had high hopes for the breakfast sandwich, but the bacon wasn't even close to the extra-crispiness I requested, and the eggs had a dense, spongy texture. It's a shame because I really wanted this to be my new go-to spot. I'm giving two stars only because the bread was actually good and the customer service for my takeout order was great, but the food itself just isn't hitting the mark.

Cajun country breakfast and salmon toast.

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The menu has many choices. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with side arugula salad. The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.

There is no reason not to come here and make this place popular. I don't think many people know about it. I have been about three times and there are maybe 2 or 3 other people inside. YOU NEED TO CHECK THEM OUT! They have regular coffee too. But they do not have a huge food list, it is mainly beignets - which are delicious and they make fun shapes out them to be festive - like stars for example. But who needs food, when you have alcohol coffee?! The staff are always kind and helpful. If you want to change anything up, they are more than happy to. And they make the presentation just beautiful as well. It is a great place for pre gaming prior to a meal or post gaming after a meal. They are connected to 4141 and it can be a little confusing trying to find the entrance. The bathrooms are clean, there is a fun two seater table that has like a pac man game or something similar, and there are some leather chairs and couches to sit on. This place is great and you know I will be back!

If you have time for just one coffee shop in New Orleans while strolling through the Garden…read moreDistrict or Uptown, make it this one. The coffee house is the perfect match of New Orleans aesthetics and flavors. Starting with the architecture, it's housed in one of the many ornate double shotgun homes that line Magazine street. It leans into the historic aesthetic, with chandeliers, brick fireplaces, deep colors, and lots of hard wood, appearing like a quiet study or library. Be forewarned, this place can get rather busy, mostly with students studying and working. I found everyone to be respectful of the quietness of the space. On a visit at 2:00pm every interior table was full (approximately 25 tables). Hot Tip: There is a door leading to the back that states "espresso garden". We landed there, where there were 6 additional seating tables outside in a very nice space. The coffee offerings were excellent and curated. Respectful to New Orleans they use chicory in their coffee ; I am happy to have this familiar flavor but some may find it strong or bitter. I got the Tiramisu Cold Brew and the cream cut the bitterness significantly. I also ordered a savory pastry (the shroom boom) which had a crispy, flaky crust and tasted fresh. There are other coffee shops in the area; most feel very standard or corporate and don't have the richness that this location offers.

I had an awesome time sitting outside - they had both a front patio and a small seating area in the back of the shop. The furniture was pretty nice and comfortable. The interior had a great vibe too - I loved the overall layout and decoration. The coffee was pretty good. It was a little bit expensive, but it was pretty darn good. I got a cappuccino, it had nice rich flavor without being too intense. Service was good, it took a little bit to get our coffee, but was happy to sit outside while we waited. It was a little busy when I went, but not too bad for a weekend. Definitely would recommend & will be back

While you're here, I'd say that the cafe au lait is also worth trying. I noticed that the lines tend to be longer in the morning but there was little to no wait at night time. Service is mixed--some workers are really friendly while others seem rushed and are a bit harsher. It is a casual spot and you can pretty much grab any open table to be seated. One thing to note is that it is cash only. Overall, I'd highly recommend this location of cafe du monde!

This place was phenomenal!…read more For reference, my only experience with beignets before this was at Disneyland, and everyone told me I had to try Café du Monde. I was a little confused when I first walked up, as there isn't a place to order. You simply sit at an empty table and a server comes to take your order. The beignets were warm, crispy, and covered in powdered sugar. It's hard to explain what they even tasted like because they were just that incredible. I ended up getting them again the next day--I genuinely want to make another trip out here just to have them again. Be aware that it's in a heavily tourist-filled area, but besides that, I loved this spot and will definitely be back the next time I'm in New Orleans!
