I love this place so much. Always amazing food and fantastic service. The courtyard is gorgeous and the interior is cozy. I will always stop here for lunch or dinner.

I was looking forward to the stuffed shrimp, until I saw shrimp and crayfish were imported. The eggplant cake was good. The redfish was overcooked and tasted burnt.

stopped here for a solo lunch and it was amazing! the vibes in here are really nice. it reminded me of a european style cafe. i ordered a greek salad and the 4 cheese ravioli. both were absolutely delicious and the portions were really generous - i packed up both to have for leftovers later. they unfortunately don't have espresso but did offer coffee and dessert after my meal, but i was stuffed! i would love to return and try a drink and dessert. a really nice neighborhood cafe that i would definitely frequent if i lived here long term.

Chicken Lemon Pasta Dinner- this image does not do it justice. Had this two days in a row. That's how good it was

Highly recommend this restaurant. I had come from out of town and good dining was key for me. I was shocked how good the food and service was. The sign had "Cafe" on it but should had been more like Italian Bistro. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food and service is as good or even better than some other fancy restaurant restaurants in the city. They offered coffee, decent but a nice Lavazza expresso latte or cappuccino would had been be nice as an option here. Crossing fingers they could consider for when we return to visit.

Food has gotten better, menu gotten smaller, and service is better. Still issues with the card fees, but this place is improving and a nice spot for a quick dinner.

Charming little space with excellent service and food. I ordered fried oysters on a bed of grilled romaine. Could take or leave the romaine but oysters and Caesar dressing delish. Friend had a very nice salmon salad. They bring warm bread to table in a brown paper bag. Iced tea attractively served with lemon and mint sprig and frequently refreshed.

Was eating near Loyola University because we were seeing a play there. Found the only non-dive on the college strip, where it seems professors and a few fancy sorority girls dine (though not together). Surprisingly good food. Oysters Almandine: Perfectly fried oysters so it's crunchy on the outside, with a good amount of batter, and soft on the inside. No funky fishy smell either. But that creamy almandine sauce, wow! That really jazzed up those oysters and made them addictive. Maple Street Crawfish Pasta: A very generous amount of crawfish tails. Like super meaty. With a good amount of diced bell peppers and onions in a subtle butter sauce. Reminded me a little of shrimp scampi, but with a Louisiana twist. Pork Chop: Thick and meaty, tasted quite porky. A subtle sauce, which pairs well. Some random veggies. It was fun, but the crawfish pasta was a better choice. White Chocolate Bread Pudding: Warm. Gooey. Saucy. This was just the perfect way to cap off a meal. Though once the sauce was gone, the dense steamed pudding remaining wasn't as tasty.

Another great neighborhood place for dinner just off Carrollton Avenue. A comfy conversion of house into cafe, you can set on two levels inside or in the side outdoor patio. Whatever you choose you can count on GREAT service, even with my huge party of nine. Can't say enough about the service--attentive, knowledgeable, considerate. Wow! Another wow for the food. Fav apps include the stuffed shrimp pastry, oysters almondine (perfectly fried) and the eggplant cake. Small but solid wine list--competitive prices too. Love the shrimp ziad--light, tasty and filling. A bunch in the group loved the pompano special. Everyone was pleased with entrees. The key lime pie and tiramisu are worth it--a must.

This is a solidly consistent place to grab some good food. I rotate in here probably once every two years or so, as it usually isn't at the top of my list of places to go with all the other great options in the area, but I've brought a few out of town folks here when other places were super crowded and it has always been easy to access. The service has always been pleasant and the interior space is much nicer than you might think from just driving past and looking at the exterior. I've rarely had anything that disappointed me here outside the burger but I've also never had anything that excited me either so this place is definitely a solid three star A-Ok in my book with potential to reach higher. Charming place. There is also an outside sitting available. Parking can be challenging, but hey.. this area is super popular. And if you don't mind walking - you can park on a side street. Our server wasn't very attentive though. She came to us asking if we were ready to order food or dessert without giving us much time to look at a menu. We'd ask for a minute to think and she'd disappear. Every time we had to wave to get her attention. But on the other hand, the restaurant was pretty full at a lunch time. But food was delicious. I'd come back if I lived in New Orleans.

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.

This bread, crackling crust and airy, sour-sweet, Is more than sustenance; it is a prayer For all who gather, breaking bread to greet The morning light, and taste the love baked there; A grace that rises softly through the air. We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed. In a city famous for memorable dining, this meal still managed to feel special -- equal parts elegant, welcoming, and unmistakably New Orleans.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

We started with the chicken wings with honey barbecue sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. Next were the bacon wrapped shrimp and these were one of my favorite items of the night. The hot honey sauce was so good and the presentation made them even better. The cheese pull and sauce dripping down really sealed the deal for me. Easily a 10/10. The brussels sprouts completely surprised me because they were SO good. They were topped with pecans, cranberries, pepper jelly, and parmesan cheese, and all of the toppings worked so well together to elevate the flavor of the brussels sprouts. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I've been back just for those alone. 10/10. I also tried the Bayou Mac & Cheese which was creamy, flavorful, and cooked well. My only complaint is that it was topped with tomatoes, which wasn't listed on the menu, so I would've asked for it without them, but no big deal. We also had the Cajun Pasta which was good as well. Everything came out hot & Overall, the service was excellent, everything we had was really enjoyable, and the experience matched the aesthetic of the restaurant. I'd definitely return.

Service was friendly and efficient and Taylor took excellent care of us. General Manager Josie dropped by our table to share info on Lumora and her visit was appreciated. There is a full bar and a wide selection of specialty cocktails. Today I had a Blood Orange Mezcal Margarita and my wife had an Ex-Presso Martini. Both were great! I highly recommend the Mezcal spice served up on the Margarita's rim in place of the standard salt. We then enjoyed the Zydeco Eggroll appetizer, which the pepper jelly garnish made truly memorable. I then followed with the Buffalo Chicken Pinsa and my wife had the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pinsa. Both were excellent; hot, pleasantly spicy, and generously portioned. We took home a lot of food. Although we had no room for dessert, several on the menu looked quite sumptuous. In short, Lumora Kitchen and Bar is highly recommended! It's a great spot for lunch, happy hour drinks, or a special date night. We will return.
