    Roasted garlic cloves!
    Alexis C.

This just is definitively the best Greek salad in the city. It's got tomatoes, capers, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, banana peppers, onions, hearts of palm, roasted garlic, green peppers, cucumbers and feta. I add the grilled chicken for protein, doesn't even need dressing! And the mixed greens are always crisp and never limp or starting to turn. I'm not a huge salad girlie (see my other reviews) but when I'm trying to eat lighter I still want lots of flavor and to feel full and this salad always does the job! I've been ordering it delivery, so can't comment on the ambiance but it's prepared quickly and with a good mix of all the goodies. Great for swimsuit season!

I can't believe I never wrote a review of this gem of a restaurant. The setting, Memorial Day Weekend: Girl's Trip. First and foremost, get the pillowy soft French bread with their amazing chilled albeit spicy soft butter accompaniment. Truly the highlight of our meal. We happened upon this place after exploring outside of NOLA near the university. School was out and everything was quiet... and ungodly hot. We were relieved to find a place that was open, cool, and offered spritzers. As we rehydrated and enjoyed the AMAZING free bread appetizer, I ordered the crawfish pita with feta. It was fresh, crunchy, and delicious. I loved everything about this quaint cafe. Go for a visit and I'm sure you'll feel the same way. Bon appetite!

I love this place so much. Always amazing food and fantastic service. The courtyard is gorgeous and the interior is cozy. I will always stop here for lunch or dinner.

I was looking forward to the stuffed shrimp, until I saw shrimp and crayfish were imported. The eggplant cake was good. The redfish was overcooked and tasted burnt.

stopped here for a solo lunch and it was amazing! the vibes in here are really nice. it reminded me of a european style cafe. i ordered a greek salad and the 4 cheese ravioli. both were absolutely delicious and the portions were really generous - i packed up both to have for leftovers later. they unfortunately don't have espresso but did offer coffee and dessert after my meal, but i was stuffed! i would love to return and try a drink and dessert. a really nice neighborhood cafe that i would definitely frequent if i lived here long term.

Chicken Lemon Pasta Dinner- this image does not do it justice. Had this two days in a row. That's how good it was

Highly recommend this restaurant. I had come from out of town and good dining was key for me. I was shocked how good the food and service was. The sign had "Cafe" on it but should had been more like Italian Bistro. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food and service is as good or even better than some other fancy restaurant restaurants in the city. They offered coffee, decent but a nice Lavazza expresso latte or cappuccino would had been be nice as an option here. Crossing fingers they could consider for when we return to visit.

Food has gotten better, menu gotten smaller, and service is better. Still issues with the card fees, but this place is improving and a nice spot for a quick dinner.

Charming little space with excellent service and food. I ordered fried oysters on a bed of grilled romaine. Could take or leave the romaine but oysters and Caesar dressing delish. Friend had a very nice salmon salad. They bring warm bread to table in a brown paper bag. Iced tea attractively served with lemon and mint sprig and frequently refreshed.

Was eating near Loyola University because we were seeing a play there. Found the only non-dive on the college strip, where it seems professors and a few fancy sorority girls dine (though not together). Surprisingly good food. Oysters Almandine: Perfectly fried oysters so it's crunchy on the outside, with a good amount of batter, and soft on the inside. No funky fishy smell either. But that creamy almandine sauce, wow! That really jazzed up those oysters and made them addictive. Maple Street Crawfish Pasta: A very generous amount of crawfish tails. Like super meaty. With a good amount of diced bell peppers and onions in a subtle butter sauce. Reminded me a little of shrimp scampi, but with a Louisiana twist. Pork Chop: Thick and meaty, tasted quite porky. A subtle sauce, which pairs well. Some random veggies. It was fun, but the crawfish pasta was a better choice. White Chocolate Bread Pudding: Warm. Gooey. Saucy. This was just the perfect way to cap off a meal. Though once the sauce was gone, the dense steamed pudding remaining wasn't as tasty.

Another great neighborhood place for dinner just off Carrollton Avenue. A comfy conversion of house into cafe, you can set on two levels inside or in the side outdoor patio. Whatever you choose you can count on GREAT service, even with my huge party of nine. Can't say enough about the service--attentive, knowledgeable, considerate. Wow! Another wow for the food. Fav apps include the stuffed shrimp pastry, oysters almondine (perfectly fried) and the eggplant cake. Small but solid wine list--competitive prices too. Love the shrimp ziad--light, tasty and filling. A bunch in the group loved the pompano special. Everyone was pleased with entrees. The key lime pie and tiramisu are worth it--a must.

The Vintage - New Orleans, LA…read more The Vintage on Magazine Street was our very first food stop in New Orleans, and it turned out to be a great way for my wife and me to start our trip. From the moment we walked in, I really liked the atmosphere. The place has a cool, relaxed New Orleans vibe with a little bit of an upscale café feel without being overly fancy. It's the kind of spot where you can come in, sit down, enjoy some good food and drinks, and just take your time. Of course, we couldn't come to New Orleans and not start things off with beignets! We decided to go with the Fancy Beignet Flight, which gave us a chance to try several different flavors. We got the raspberry, s'mores, and Chantilly. They came out looking almost too good to eat, covered in powdered sugar with all the different fillings and toppings. Almost... because we definitely ate them! They were warm, sweet, messy in the best possible way, and a fun introduction to our New Orleans food adventure. For my meal, I ordered the Italian Panini with the truffle Parmesan fries. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese, and flavor. Looking at that cross-section, they definitely weren't being stingy with the fillings! The bread was toasted nicely, and everything worked well together. The truffle fries were another highlight. They had plenty of seasoning and Parmesan and paired perfectly with the sandwich. I also grabbed a small iced mocha, which went really well with the food and especially the beignets. One thing I really enjoyed about The Vintage was the atmosphere. The interior has a lot of character, from the marble tables and vintage-style flooring to the bar and pastry display. It feels like a place that belongs on Magazine Street. It was comfortable enough that we didn't feel rushed and could just enjoy being in New Orleans together. The service was good during our visit, and everything came together for a really enjoyable first meal in the city. Our bill came to around $48 after tax and tip for the two of us, and considering we had a sandwich, upgraded fries, drinks, and the beignet flight, I thought it was a good experience for the money. Most importantly, this place gave my wife and me a great start to our New Orleans trip. When your first stop includes a loaded Italian panini, truffle Parmesan fries, iced coffee, and a whole flight of beignets, you know the trip is starting off right! Definitely a place I would visit again. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great first taste of New Orleans. 5 stars from us!

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

We arrived at 5:40pm and told them 7 people and were told about 40 minutes so we sat at the bar and grabbed a few drinks, waited about 40 minutes are were seated.. perfect timing. Now this is where things start to fall apart.. we sat and waited about 5 minutes for someone to show up and take drink orders and I thought should put in appetizers just in case it takes them awhile to return. A few drinks stumbled out and then appetizers came and the a few minutes later more of the drinks.. weird. Finally we ordered our entrees and while waiting finished our appetizers and then no one came and cleared the table, water was empty, drinks were low appetizer plates and appetizers vessels still on table. And wait for it... here come the entrees.. and they are placing them around an already full table.. was there no dishwashers so they didn't want to take plates back to be washed??? I put about 4 plates where my entree should have gone and they pushed the entree plate next to it and I had to ask them o remove the other plates. I feel like this is too long already.. the food? Tasted odd like it had an odd flavor I ordered the Truffle Butter Steak and it was about the size of my hand and cut in strips with onions rings on top and a small bowl of fries... for $35.00. My stunning wife orders the Shrimp fried rice and she was not impressed I tasted it and it was mushy with small shrimp. Oh I liked the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer that is the reason for the two stars. Bill came and I paid for seven of us and looked the bill and it was $381.00 with drinks no one told me the gratuity was one there already and stupid me did not look and gave them another $80.00 on top of the $60.00 on the bill yep $140.00 for horrible service.. and okay food. If you all read my reviews I honestly try to be fair and hope people have off days.. I am regretting having spent nearly $500.00 on this night
