From the minute we walked in we felt so welcome. Everyone was friendly and our server, Daniela, was awesome! She called us "baby" and I'm here for all of that! The restaurant is colorful and happy inside which was so nice and comfortable. Our coffee cups were never empty. Food was delicious! I had the fried catfish with eggs and grits and my fiancé had the fried crawfish breakfast. Biscuits were wonderful and the Aebelskivers (pancake fried dough) they have were incredible!! Highly recommended! Yes we ordered too much food and we were not mad about it! We left so happy we made it to Toast for breakfast and absolutely agree with my friend that said it's a must when you are in the area!

The food here is great every single time. Even though it's served from hot tables, everything is super fresh because they are busting out plates left and right. The line moves really quickly and everyone working there is very nice. I've tried something different every visit. From the variations of the Baby Back to the Biscuit Boat and the Back in Town Burrito, it's all been delicious. Also, the potatoes are so good! I usually take pictures of my food, but for some reason, I can never get a shot here because I eat it way too quick. This is definitely a top-tier spot in Gretna!

So far we have tried the Berry Sausage Frenchie, the Biscuit Boat w/ Catfish, Biscuit Boat w/ Chicken Tenders, French Toast meal w/ eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 chicken tenders. Berry Sausage Frenchie - 6/10 I wasn't as impressed with the Berry Sausage Frenchie as I was hoping for. It was still good, but the flavors just kind of blended together to one, so wasn't bad just wasn't great. Filling though, it is huge. Can only eat half for a breakfast (if that). Biscuit Boat w/ Catfish - 8/10 Biscuit Boat w/Tenders - 7/10 My boyfriend has gotten the biscuit boat both times once with catfish and once with tenders, he says he prefers it with catfish as the sauce is complimented best with the catfish. However, he says he wouldn't get it a third time, it tastes delicious, just too rich for an early breakfast. Maybe better eaten closer to lunch time. Grits - 10/10 As expected, best grits I've had from a restaurant. Perfectly seasoned. French Toast w/ eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 chicken tenders - 9/10 This was my favorite! Chicken tender, bacon, egg, and grits all in one bite was truly mind blowing, an explosion of flavors in one bite. The chicken tenders are so good with it. And as expected eggs were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Bacon may have been overcooked, was crispy just a little tough, but not really a big deal. Bacon is bacon! French toast tasted also amazing paired with a bite of a tender, such good flavors. French toast alone - 6/10 The french toast itself is cooked just fine, but I'm not a fan of the bread they use for it, like a canes toast with sesame seeds. I just don't prefer it, but it's still just fine! Didn't find it was too flavorful is all. But maybe that's just me. It certainly looks delightful!

You have to wait in line to order/pay so depending on how difficult the group(s)/people(s) orders are ahead of you, will dictate how fast this process will go. The place is much bigger than I initially expected. There are 2 floors with seating. It would be hard to accommodate a large party but there's plenty of seating. I live the old 80's/90's theme and decor. Such a great throwback. We ordered 2 drip coffees (you get them in a to-go cups but you can get free refills), and the Grand Slam McMuffin. Both were great. Wish the sandwiches were bigger for the price you pay. $11.50 for a breakfast sandwich is pretty steep, but it's the price you pay considering everything is homemade. I would also like to point out that there is a discrepancy on the price of adding an egg. The menu says it's $2 more but we were charged $2.50. They should really update their menu or be upfront about it. Overall a great place to have a great breakfast. * Please note that you're not allowed to have someone save a table while another waits in line to order. You must order first before being allowed to take a table.

The drink was $7.14 which isn't too bad, but the taste is great. It's very refreshing and not heavy at all. I came on a Sunday morning and the inside was a little busy, so I decided to sit outside. They have maybe 4 tables outside with music playing so it was quite nice. One more thing -- i really like the cup lid. Sometimes you'll go to a place and the lid makes it really hard to get an even stir/shake but with their lid it's so easy as you just plug the top with a finger and shake. Small detail but it's something I appreciated. The matcha coconut water is a must try!

Dough Nguyener's Bakery -- 4…read more Dough Nguyener's really introduced me and my son to the flavors of ube and pandan... and I still can't believe I went my whole life without them. Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.

She provided great service and awesome recommendations from drinks, apps and eats! Her personality was very pleasant and sweet. She was attentive but not overwhelming at all. Both Aurry and Joel contributed to the overall experience making it great. The FOOD was a HIT. Everything ordered was presented beautifully and delicious!!! The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

The chicken sandwich itself was really good and honestly ended up being the star of my meal. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and the sandwich was filling enough that I was perfectly fine eating it on its own. Unfortunately, my mac & cheese was cold in the middle, so I sent it back and swapped it for the hash browns. The hash browns weren't really my favorite either, so at that point I just accepted that the chicken sandwich and I were going to ride this thing out together. My husband, on the other hand, is a TRUE breakfast person, so this was much more his territory. He ordered a steak breakfast bowl topped with eggs. He enjoyed it overall, but felt like it could've used a little more seasoning. He ended up asking for some aioli on the side, which helped give it the extra flavor he was looking for. Now the chicken and waffles? THAT was the fun part. The presentation was adorable, with the chicken served alongside the waffle cone-style presentation, and naturally I ended up eating most of his chicken. The chicken was really good, and even though I'm not a huge waffle person, I tried some of the waffle too and enjoyed what I had. It was definitely the more memorable dish at the table. I also really liked the atmosphere. It's cute, bright, and feels made for brunch, so aesthetically they understood the assignment. Overall, there were some execution issues with my sides, especially being served mac & cheese that was cold in the center, but the chicken dishes were good enough that I still enjoyed the experience. My husband enjoyed his breakfast overall, and I'd come back and give them another shot. Next time, though, I'm sticking with the chicken because clearly that's where they had me.

Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. It's always nice to find a place that offers a little something different instead of the usual tourist fare. I went with the Shrimp Carbonara, and the portion size was impressive. The dish was loaded with large, juicy shrimp and packed with flavor. It was one of those meals that looks great when it arrives and somehow tastes even better once you dig in. The service was quick, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly, which was appreciated after a day of exploring. My only minor critique--and this is purely personal preference--would be that I would have preferred the shrimp tails removed. It certainly didn't take away from the meal, though. In fact, it led to one of the funniest moments of the trip when I squeezed a tail to remove it and accidentally launched it across the table toward one of my buddies. Thankfully, my aim was terrible, but the table got a good laugh out of it. Great food, generous portions, fast service, and a fun atmosphere. We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice.
