The Monday special with red beans and either fried or baked chicken is excellent. I have had both types of chicken. The fried chicken is well seasoned. I decided to try the baked chicken expecting something bland. I was so wrong. It was so good. I did not feel like I was missing out by not having fried chicken instead. The restaurant's tables are well-spaced and they appear to be following all COVID-19 precautions. Several patrons appeared to be regulars. That's always a good sign. The breakfast menu included a variety of combo plates, omelettes and sandwiches. My friend and I both got the breakfast special combo plate. It was $5 or so for 2 eggs cooked to order, choice of grits or hash brown, choice of bacon or sausage, and toast. The eggs we ordered over medium and they were cooked PERFECTLY. That's hard to do, y'all. Bacon was crispy, toast was well-buttered. I had grits with an add-on of American cheese. I wish they had a little butter and salt in them. Also they have free coffee! I know breakfast might not be the sexiest meal to review, but these were standards done solidly well! If you need a hot, yummy breakfast on the Westbank, I recommend Sweet Sadie's! read more

I wonder why it has such good reviews. I'm from California and this place looks like a dump compared to any restaurant in California I've been to. They also had a rude woman at the counter. They close at 3 and half of their menu is breakfast food. One would assume they serve breakfast until they close. That should be specified on the menu. I love Sweet Sadie's. Breakfast option for me is the Shrimp and Grits. Nice kicker to my morning. Monday - Red beans or White beans were really creamy and by far the best beans I've had to date. Comes with a side salad and corn bread. Tuesday - Rice with Roast. Not so bad , could be a bit more seasoned. Your choice of veggies. Friday - is the best day to go! The bell peppers are out of this world. Made with all crabmeat to ground beef. Shrimp pasta is tasty and the stuffed fish is to die for! read more

This place was not what I expected! My husband and I had been trying to eat here for a long time, but kept missing the hours. Finally got a shot at it my last day in NOLA. I had a cheese and shrimp omelette which was tasty, with a fried pork chop on the side. The pork chop was great! Not over cooked at all. My mom had pancakes and she enjoyed them as well. Plenty of free black coffee was available, which was a godsend at the point in the week. Be aware, Sadie's food is served on to go plates, which was fine, and the portacool will blow you away if you don't pay attention to where you sit. This place is fantastic! Formerly Jerry's, Sweet Sadie's offers breakfast and lunch. They are open from 6am - 3pm. They have generous breakfast platters starting at $2.99, breakfast sandwiches, burgers and sandwiches, salads, and daily lunch specials. The staff is amazingly friendly (for this area). Even though I was very disappointed to see Jerry's close, Sweet Sadie's will certainly fill the void. read more

This place was exactly as advertised! Good food at a good price. I was on the west bank for business this morning, and had some time to kill, so why not breakfast? After reading the reviews, and checking my options, I chose the mom and pop style place, and I was not disappointed. Don't let the setting put you off, it's in an industrial area, but that's a plus. It's good home cooked style food at an exceptional price. I got the breakfast platter, 2 eggs, bacon, grits and a biscuit. With coffee, for 4 bucks. Get that at McDonald's! The food wasn't gourmet, but I didn't expect that. It was however, very tasty, well prepared and elegant in its simplicity. Did I mention the coffee was free? A pleasant experience with the staff, you can tell they are taking their venture seriously. The place was clean and tidy. I will come again when business brings me to the area. read more

Being from the Westbank & the fact that little places like this are my FAV. to patronize, I couldn't believe i just found Sweet Sadies!! I have just moved into the area and went out to get lunch, I stopped by and got one of 2 lunch specials of the day. The choices were the Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes and gravy or Lasagna with choice of side and I chose corn & side salad. I would have taken a photo but i didn't think about it before i dived into it. It was delish!! I have to say, Mrs. Sadies is my second favorite Westbank Lasagna and my #1 favorite from a non-italian restaurant. Next time on a Wednesday I will probably give the Salisbury steaks a try bc they looked so good too! Being sooo close to Mrs. Sadies is going to be dangerous!!! Good thing she closes early!! This restaurant is a little gem in Harvey. Just like eating at your family's home. Their plate lunches are so good. One is better than the other. On Thursday they have fried or broiled chicken with smothered cabbage over rice candied yams and cornbread. On Fridays stuffed bell pepper with baked Mac, peas and potato salad. The food was amazing! Awesome place to eat. Ordered a steak plate with a seafood potato. We was given a complimentary cocktail, second one was $4. I had Tito's vodka on the rocks (my fave ). The atmosphere was down home and welcoming. Me and my friend walked out to enjoy the music being played near the grill. When my order was ready it was brought out to me. Great service. . As for the food.... Superb! (I like that word) unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the food because I had already started smashing it, but I will post next time, because I am definitely going back! The steak was huge and well done as I requested and seasoned well. The potato was covered in shrimp and crawfish tails in a delicious cheese sauce OMG!!! And it came with a grill shrimp salad, that I wasn't expecting but was super happy it came lol I mean it was a great experience with great food and great people! Great place for lunch. They have breakfast as well but I go for the weekly lunch specials. For under $10 you'll be very satisfied with their soul food. I really really love the roasted chicken but extremely upset about not having the roasted chicken on FRIDAYS lol.
