    Gluten Free

My friend brought me here for brunch. I wanted potatoes but they do not serve any. My friend ordered a chicken salad and it was big!! I ordered eggs and sausage and a cinnamon roll. The hibiscus tea was served nicely and it was good. They have a lot of gluten free bakery choices. It's a small place but service was good and parking was easy.

This is the cutest little down home breakfast spot on the Westbank with the sweetest waitstaff. The line seemed long when I entered, but I placed my order within 5 minutes and was sipping on my delicious orange spice tea. The breakfast burrito was packed with potatoes, avocado, onions, chorizo and eggs. Try it for yourself, it won't disappoint! I'll be back soon and be sure to leave some room for some of those yummy treats!

The ambiance and decor is charming. The staff is welcoming and the food is delicious. I had the breakfast burrito with a fruit cup. I love a tasty breakfast taco or burrito and this one was so good, I came back the next day to have another one. Chorizo, potato, egg and avocado give this burrito a spicy and flavorful punch. The potatoes are cooked to perfection and it big enough to eat half now and save half for later. I got my first one to go on my lunch break and came back in the morning for another one and sat on the couch on the left. The staff helped me transform the living room style table into a dinner table (it pops up)!! I haven't bought their baked treats yet they had samples our and the coffee cake was moist and just the right amount of sweet! I am Looking forward to returning!!

Returned to my favorite little coffee shop in New Orleans. As expected it didn't disappoint in any way. Such a beautiful display of yummy eats. Plenty of order off the menu. Different egg casseroles, grits, pastries, sandwiches, etc. Menu doesn't really lack a thing. This is definitely a local spot. I just love this place. Was able to see MJ again, met CeCe and did not unfortunately get the name of the other amazing lady. First day was busy, but staff don't rush they strike up a conversation with everyone. The lemon pound cake square was delicious. I just love this cute and cozy spot.

Locally owned, locally ran. Very mom & pop diner feel- small restaurant team is extremely attentive and hardworking. You can tell they really care about your dining experience! Plentiful gluten free bakery options (6 pc assorted pastry box is $18). Really especially enjoyed the fresh Sourdough bread!

Great spot for breakfast on the Bestbank; there was parking on the side of building and it was not crowded. They get extra points because they "speak" when one walks in. One orders at the counter and your food is brought to your table. Service was quick. We ordered the hen house breakfast, the hen house stack, strawberry lemonade, and an orange juice. Their pancakes had an almond flavoring and the sourdough was great. They also sell lunch and many other gluten free baked goods. The employee told me that they shut down the restaurant during king cake season so that they can focus strictly on that. She says that they won the award for the best king cakes... I guess I will have to try one!

Quaint, adorable restaurant in my favorite part of Gretna, but... The menu was impressive, but the food was not. The bread on the grilled cheese was hard and too thick for the small amount of cheese provided. The pancakes were lackluster. They weren't cooked all the way through and the batter tasted as if it was missing a key ingredient. The latte was also off. I wanted this to be a good experience. The service staff was pleasant and the restaurant was very welcoming.

The nicest staff is at this chill, super casual restaurant. Totally gluten free baked goods every day. Pots of hot tea, fancy lemonades are wonderful. But most of all, the chorizo breakfast burrito is the bomb. It's hard to get anything else here now that I've had it.

I heard about the Hen House through my neighborhood group. It had opened up earlier this year and is affiliated with one of my favorite brunch places, Toast. Both good reasons to visit! I came here on a day off from work since their hours are from 8am to 2pm on most days. There are definitely coffee shop vibes when you walk in. The space is a decent size with booths on one side and tables in the middle and on the other side. You order in the front where there is display of all of their gluten free bakery goods and a menu. The menu isn't exclusively GF but there is the option to make your order GF. I chose to try the Breakfast Burrito with a Cauliflower soup as the side and a coffee. Once you place the order you take a number and find yourself a seat where they will bring the food to you. My Breakfast Burrito was very good! All of my favorite things in it: eggs, potatoes, and chorizo. Chorizo always has a great flavor! The avocado pieces were a bit big as was the cheese slice which I ended up picking some out. I really should have just asked to have no cheese since I'm not a big cheese lover. Drinks: The coffee wasn't my favorite. I usually like my coffee black, but ended up adding some cream. Service: Very good- everyone was very friendly! Parking: Street Parking.

Everything was disrespectfully delicious. Every bite had us questioning our life choices in the best way. By the end of the meal, we were all sleepy and completely defeated by how good the food was. The staff was on point, courteous, and polite. Our food came out hot, fast, and perfectly plated with consistency that never misses. My only small complaint is that the sweet potato habanero sauce isn't as thick as it used to be. I'm a little annoyed about that, but it still tastes exactly the same Cochon Butcher remains one of those must visit New Orleans spots that never disappoints. We ordered the black-eyed pea chili and the muffuletta, and the sandwich completely stole the show. The bread was perfectly soft, and you can really taste the difference in quality with their in-house meats. The olive salad tied the whole thing together, complementing the rich, savory flavors perfectly. That being said, the space gets extremely crowded on busy days. It's tight enough that you'll likely have people bumping into your chair or brushing past you while you eat and walk through the dining room. The biggest downside was the service at the counter. The line to the cashiers was very disorganized. Instead of calling the next person in line, one cashier was pulling people up at random, which made the ordering process frustrating. Overall, the food is fantastic, but be prepared for chaotic crowds and a messy ordering system during peak hours.

However, I know wait times can be out the door so plan accordingly. We were dropped off by Uber, but in terms of parking, it's mainly street parking. Overall, the shop is pretty small. They have a handful of tables outside and more seating inside but it's not huge -- hence the longer lines. It's also quite eclectic with serving on plastic McDonald's plates and the music that was playing. We ordered: The ham sandwich, wedge salad, and a delicious pickle cocktail The ham sandwich had excellent flavor! I wish it had a but more ham on it, but overall the flavor was 10/10! The wedge salad had too much salad dressing. I LOVE blue cheese and blue cheese salad dressing but the lettuce to dressing ratio was off. Could have used less as I felt so much went to waste. The thick cut bacon on the salad was the exact salty touch it needed and the fresh dill was such a fresh touch. The pickle cocktail was delicious! I wish I would have ordered another one! It was slightly sweet, but also salty... SO good! Overall, I would highly recommend Turkey and the Wolf and totally stop by again if I were visiting New Orleans in the future.

The ordering experience was a bit gruff and rough around the edges, but from then on, everything went right. First, you can hang out in the bar area at Erin Rose (I swear the crowd was friendlier than they looked) and eat there if there's space. I highly recommend their Paradise Peach, which seems to be from a local brewery. The bright, peach flavor of the lager does well to wash down the sandwich in the summer heat. I went with an order of the Braised Beef Debris Poboy and this is hands down not just the best Poboy I've ever had in my life, but the best beef or steak any sandwich I've ever had in my life! I wolfed it down so quickly and have to say the pickled green bean and banana peppers with that spike of horseradish sauce really sent this Poboy soaring! The braised beef was absolutely perfect and tender, amazingly so! I can get a bit picky about beef because I hate it when it's tough or gristly or has too much fatty parts that won't melt down, but I didn't have a problem with any of that. I'm no butcher, but seemed like they used a good part of the beef of what's already a fairly quality cow (Louisiana Wagyu Beef I recall reading) or maybe it was the whole braising process, but I wish I could have this for days! I'm going to be sad going back to Houston and not being able to eat this, but hopefully it'll still be around and just as amazing next time I'm back in town.
