The sandwiches are expensive but once you eat the food you know why. The freshness and care they take putting them together shows their love of providing an amazing product. It's just a small little dining area so be prepared to wait for a spot or take it to go, either way you are about to enjoy properly the best sandwich in New Orleans.

Quick service where you take a number when you walk through the door. This can get a little confusing but, you order at the second counter past the first counter. I ordered The Polly which is labelled under Hot Sandwiches. Of course, it had to be on focaccia. Idc what you say. It went on focaccia for $2 extra. A sandwich is incomplete without chips so naturally I picked up a bag of cracked pepper chips. The wait was about 5-10 mins. During my wait, I enjoyed the retro-esque decor and design of the interior scape. It's intimate and cozy aka smaller sit down area with 5 to 6 tables. The Polly per website: Grilled chicken, smoked gouda, bacon, Calabrian chili hot honey, arugula in Calabrian vinaigrette Absolutely stellar. Chicken was tender, juicy and seasoned well. The smoked Gouda definitely elevated the experience. Also, the bitter arugula was able to cut through the spiciness of the hot honey. Definitely a local favorite. Total with tip: $24

Check out the menu. The counter will call your number and you give your name and order. Then proceed to the register where you pay and pick a drink if you desire. They'll call out your name when it's ready. Kind and patient staff! I was definitely a little anxious not knowing how it worked but they were nice to me limited indoor seating but lots of seating outside out back! My sandwich was sooooo good. Today's special had Italian sausage from Gonzo's Smokehouse (if you ever see that Gonzo's is part of a special anywhere, ORDER IT. YOULL THANK ME I PROMISE). I'm pretty sure I was making noises that made other customers uncomfortable but I don't even care. It was that good.

Went to Francolini's for a Friday lunch. I've been following them on Instagram for a while and their specials looked so good! We walked in, took a number and looked at the menu and specials posted. We were soon called to the spot where you place your order and I got the Cardini special and my SO got the Roxy special so we could split. The sandwiches didn't take very long and they were delicious! The Cardini was my favorite - crispy chicken cutlets, pancetta, garlic and pepper aioli, and basically Caesar salad on sesame seed bread. It was perfection! The Roxy comes with juicy meatballs, ricotta, lemon zest, basil and melted mozzarella. It's an adult meatball sub, and I'm here for it. Both of the sandwiches were quite large and filling. It's pricey but well worth it for the quality you get.
I have only been here once but I can't wait to go back. They put time and effort into these yummy sandwich creations. It's a quality sandwich shop. Service great and food on point.
This is my favorite sandwich place ever. If you come to New Orleans with me during the day, go ahead and assume we're coming here and/or St. Pizza. It's the vibes. It's the flavors that they put together. It's the people that work here that actually want to be here. Get the Gaga on focaccia. Get anything with their pimento cheese on it. Get the pimento cheese to go. Always get the special, it doesn't matter what the special is - you're going to be like holy shit this is amazing. Dammit now I want Francolinis
I've been stalking Francolini's for quite some time now. I think I've liked almost every post they've shared on their IG. Interestingly, I went there twice to buy gift cards without actually purchasing a sandwich. The workers were always so friendly! Finally the day has come, I decided to buy a sandwich, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Uncle John...WOW! The crumbled hot Italian sausage had a wonderful flavor, you can taste the Italian seasoning, complemented by the sautéed bell peppers and onions. And that provolone cheese pull!!? YUM! Let's not forget the seeded sub that held everything together perfectly. Only regret I have is that I wish I had added extra jalapeños. Definitely recommend
Definitely an institution! Lots of recs from locals to try this place and it didn't disappoint. Was nervous it'd be super busy so ordered online and picked up in store. We tried 2 sandwiches and they were both incredible! There are such creative options and many drinks to choose from as well. Staff are super friendly. Extra seating on patio in the back. Will be back!

This place is everything you want in a Italian sub shop. The smell of break consumes you as you walk in and you grab ticket like an old school deli. I got two sandwiches the gaga and the Raphael. I can't even tell you which one was better because they both slapped my taste buds all over the place. The gaga had so much flavor and the aioli they make is currently making my mouth water. The Raphael taste like you left you grandmas house and you are very Italian lol. The pasta salad is a perfect appetizer and 44 bucks for two sandwiches +chips + pasta salad + a drink ! This place is a steal
We were craving sandwiches and found this place by accident! Walk in, take a ticket and order when your ticket has been called. We waited about 10 minutes. I ordered The Italian (added red hot peppers), and my husband ordered The Raphael. They give your bread choices: seeded, unseeded or focaccia. Both sandwiches were really good a filled with lots of meats, cheese and all the fixings! Add the vinaigrette and it's as delicious as it is filling. The peppers add a nice sweet kick. I was only able to eat half of mine and took the other half home. They also sell bags of chips, all kinds of sodas, seltzers and teas, pasta salads and desserts. We shared a bag of Maui sweet onion chips and one of Batterina's chocolate chip cookie cheesecakes! The overall vibe is casual. The staff is friendly and they are working very hard - all of them! I saw two cashiers and about 4-5 people making the sandwiches. Tip them well! Would definitely be back.

These sandwiches are the absolute best. Every taste bud is used with the flavors. There is sometimes a long line, but it goes pretty quickly. The space is very limited to eat there, so sometimes it's easier to just take it to go. Also, these sandwiches are giant. I usually eat one half for lunch and one half for dinner later. It's holds up well in the fridge for a few hours. Pro Tip: Upgrade your bread to the ciabatta! read more

I've been drooling looking at their sandwiches on social media for a while and I finally did it in person. It's very classic deli. You pull a number when you get in, they call you, then you put in your order. They are fast, efficient, and nice. We got two specials so we could trade sandwich halves. Went with the cardini and the Roxy. The cardini was a delicious crispy crunchy chicken cutlet rave. The Roxy was a creamy cheesy meatball extravaganza. I will be back to decide what types of parties the other sandwiches are. read more

After hearing several raving reviews, I had to try Francolini's this summer! I'm so glad that I did. The atmosphere is very authentically New Jersey Deli, with a streamline ordering process and friendly faces throughout! The options are plentiful, and I even saw some good looking vegetarian options as well. We didn't stay to eat, but our sandwiches travelled really well! The bread stayed crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, and the quality of the produce, meats, and cheeses made the sandwich that much more delightful. Definitely worth a try! read more
neither i nor anyone i know has ever had a bad sandwich from francolini's. i've had the flea and the mezzanotte and both have been amazing. i love that they can make any sandwich on the menu vegetarian. if i lived here long enough, i'm sure i'd go through the whole menu. really cute variety of stuff they sell in the freezer too! read more
there's literally not a bad sandwich at this place!! every sandwich is drop dead gorgeous and delicious!! i sub every sandwich i get with focaccia bread whenever possible and it's that good!! the portbella sandwich did not disappoint!! i was not expecting such big and juicy mushrooms!! i wish i could come here everyday and have unlimited money to get their sandwiches read more
The best sandwich ever and it's a limited time only menu . Black Forest bacon and creole tomatoes! The big surprise for me was how tasty the shredded lettuce mixed with the pesto and vinaigrette was. I saved one half for later and the bread wasn't soggy at all. There's plenty of street parking but inside seating is limited. I work nearby so I just come in for pick up. read more

The stories about the long lines at Francolini's Italian Deli have become legend. And for good reason. The sandwiches they put out are spectacular. Today, we Ubered over and stood in line. The store is neat and clean, the hard-working Staff are the epitome of hustle, and the restroom very clean. There is limited dining space inside, and a larger, very nice patio area outside, with cafe tables. The table had Betty Whites ($15.29) on Focaccia, which is such a large sandwich, my better half and I easily shared one. So Flavorful! The 7-inch sub rolls come fresh from the Ralph Brennan Bakery, using a house-recipe. The Focaccia bread is house made. Earlier this week, we ordered from Francolini's via UberEats, which I have found very fast, reasonable, and reliable. So I highly recommend Francolini's Italian Deli, with the CAVEATS that you check their website for scheduled hours and closures, and their Instagram page for any updates. Order ahead if you can. Parking is tight if you go direct, so take someone who can run in to the store for you while you drive around the block. Really delicious hearty sandwiches Jersey style. Loaded with meat and cheese and other goodies. Lots of choices. Only thing I didn't care for is pesto aioli on sandwich. I asked if I could either have mayo or oil and they didn't have. How can you not have those items in a sandwich shop? So I went around all day with garlic breath which I hate. Next time I'll order without, or with plain pesto, but not crazy about that either. That's DEFINITELY not Jersey style! read more

Very good sandwiches. Great combination of flavors and ingredients. I got the alfie which was super good on gluten free bread. They ask if it is an allergy or preference so good for that. The shop can get very busy and hard to find a table but super worth it to just sit there and enjoy your pleasant sandwich. read more

I am not joking when I say this sandwich is probably the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. I probably think about it once a day. The menu has so many great options and the cashier was so willing to help with any question. They also have Dirty South chips!!! I will definitely be back again. read more

We went during a busy Sunday lunch rush and the staff were all very friendly and worked efficiently. Once we ordered it wasn't a long wait at all. We were able to snag a table and had leftovers for the next day. I think Francolini's has become my top sandwich spot in New Orleans! read more
