What a hidden gem!! I grew up in the area and never knew about this amazing cafe. We popped in for lunch a few days after Christmas. The restaurant is in a strip mall just a few blocks from Veterans BLVD. You order at the counter and they call you up when the food is ready. There is a great choice of soups, sandwiches, salads, and DESSERT! I had the half chicken salad and corn crab soup. It was delicious! My brother had the Greek chicken wrap and it was yummy too. The peanut butter cookie was the perfect ending! It took me 49 years to find this gem but I'll be back often! read more

I've probably eaten here 50 times by now. Always good food quality and friendly staff. I usually come for breakfast. But when I come for lunch I get salad and they make their own salad dressing which is delicious. I overheard one of the staff discussing how they don't use chemically treated decaf coffee. The place has some really nice salads, desserts, and coffee. They also have long hours which is good if you want any of those 3 items since most bakeries and coffee shops all close well before 7pm. There is a second location on N. Hullen, which I have not been to yet, that does close early at 3pm. Desserts - They have gigantic turtles here! They also have one of the best key lime pies in the area, and I also enjoyed their creme brulet. Coffee - is creamy and delicous, they must have a double espresso machine to get it so silky creamy Salads - my go to is the avacado. I do have one gripe about it though. I wish the grilled chicken on it was not some shaved, cold cut sliced style chicken. I wish it was nice warm, rotisserie chunk style chicken. Other than that, it is one of the best salads, especially since my beloved Cafe Fresca closed taking the worlds greatest avacado with house dressing with them. I really like this neighborhood gem. It is my go-to spot for coffee in the mornings when time allows. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. My favorites on the menu are: the breakfast biscuit in the AM, Chicken salad on pita with sprouts for lunch, and the cheesecake is my favorite for dessert. It's a pretty busy place, but the ambiance is really laid back for the amount of business happening around you. Stop in there and try one of my favorites that I listed. This lady came to the table and got the one I had and said she needed to take that one....who does that? So, now I have a problem with Caffe Caffee. That's so unprofessional. UPDATE: I am still sitting at Caffe! Caffe! working on my computer. The previously mentioned coffee issue has been resolved. As with many things in life, it turned out to be a simple miscommunication. The lady and I spoke about it and discovered that there was no ill intent involved. Overall, the situation was resolved with professionalism and compassion - demonstratrating a prime example of strong customer service and great integrity. I'll definitely be returning. read more

I got the shrimp salad sandwich on the spinach wrap and it was great. You can tell the shrimp wasn't just boiled, it was well seasoned and it wasnt too heavy on the mayo. Since we didn't actually dine-in, I'm not comfortable discussing the interior ambience, but will talk about the coffee and food. I got a small vanilla latte, and was very satisfied with the result. Just the right sweetness and coffee levels for me in a vanilla latte, and not too hot to burn my tongue first sip, but warm enough to last me the next 20. The croissant and cream cheese, though, was underwhelming, with the croissant not being as warm as I would've liked, and a lack of crispness and flakiness I desired means I unfortunately cannot recommend that specific dish. read more

I really wanted to love this place. It's a local gem. My first time ordering today and I'm just not super impressed. First, I placed a curbside pick-up order (the only option available). I followed directions and parked in a curbside pick-up spot when I arrived. I waited for a few minutes longer than my designated pick-up time, bc I completely understand places or busy and short-staffed. After a little bit, I called to make sure I was in the correct spot, etc. to which I was told I was, and that they usually try to watch for customers to pull-up but they miss them sometimes. Ok fine, no big deal. But then I asked how long my food was sitting, and she said it's not sitting and it would be brought out once it was done. Not even a minute later, my food is brought to me, so clearly it had been sitting. I get home (I live about 2 minutes away) and what I was worried about happening did. My food had indeed been sitting there. My soup was cold. Food: I ordered the Brazilian Shrimp soup and oh my lawd it was amazing. As I said, it was cold bc it has been sitting, but whatever, I just re-heated it and it was actually really good. Seriously, I'd go back for just the soup. I also ordered the Caesar chicken wrap (half pictured below)... I had bitten into the other half before this review. It was eh. I ordered and paid extra for Swiss cheese to be added - I didn't see/taste that. Also, the dressing was not on the wrap. It was served on the side. I wish the menu would have mentioned this, because this kinda ruined it. I had to dip it (which made it fall apart) or pour it across before each bite. So the chicken and inside of the wrap was not covered in the dressing. Kinda defeats the point of a chicken Caesar wrap. ‍ the dressing is amazing though, so maybe next time I'll just get the salad itself. Then, the random orange slices that the wrap was served on top of? I've never seen this before. I love oranges but a - that wasn't mentioned in the description on the menu and b - the part of my wrap that was sitting on the oranges now had a not so pleasant orange taste to it. Like I said, I wanted to love this place. People rave about it and there has to be a reason. I'll give it another try (seriously, the soup!), but definitely not for pick-up. read more

I think that Caffe Caffe (both locations) has the best soups in the city. My favorite is the Brazilian Shrimp. It's rich and creamy, with a hint of coconut, and It's always served piping hot with a few garlic crostini strips. As far as their sandwiches go, my favorite is by far the shrimp remoulade. It's offered as a wrap on the menu, but there's never a problem if I want it on wheat toast. Then there are the salads. The avocado salad is delicious. It's full of good things - Gorgonzola, fresh, ripe avocados, red onion, walnuts, orange slices and it's served with a mango vinaigrette. It's a very large salad, and I always manage to clean my plate. If you have a sweet tooth, please give their desserts a try. They have everything from petit fours to cookies to amazing cakes to eclairs. It's a great spot to have lunch with your girlfriends. The noise level isn't crazy loud, but it's not super quiet, so you can feel comfortable speaking above a whisper and laughing out loud. My only minus for Caffe Caffe is the parking. They share their lot with a couple other businesses, so it fills up at lunch time. You can alleviate the parking problem by going a little early or a little late. read more

We've been here before, and this visit was more of the same general goodness. I had an egg salad sandwich with bacon and it was a good amount of salad on the whole grain bread. Very tasty. the BLT of course is always good. We purchased a Choc-o-lot cake to go and ate it at home at our leisure for the next 4 days. It is not a super sweet cake, but great with a cup of milk or coffee. The only down side was the Iced Cappuccino. In my opinion...........not great. Everyone has an opinion. Food is good. Desserts are even better. I have been going to this cafe for over 20 years, but am only rating it a 3 because I have never felt as though the employees were really all that friendly. I always chalked it off to them just being super busy - until my last visit when I was truly mortified by the way I heard a long time employee speak to someone across the counter. I love this location. The salads and sandwiches are fresh and tasty with great combinations. Most recently I tried the shrimp salad and it was so good. Baked goods here are tempting and they always have angel food cake, a favorite of mine. They have extensive coffee and tea options and always have an optioned if an iced herbal tea that I enjoy. This location is less crowded than the other, although the food is the same. Everything is homemade and service is efficient despite being frequently busy. A great lunch spot always! read more
