I was on the hunt for a good irish coffee. Since the Irish House closed on saint Charles, no one sells them locally. Well, I found it! An authentic irish coffee in Kenner! We walked in and loved the interior decor. There are a bunch of crafty things for sale such as crochet blankets and candles. The cafe wasnt busy when we went. It was close closing time around 2pm. We ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich, waffles, irish coffee and a bloody mary. The irish coffe was the star for me. It was so good. Everything was tasty. Both the waitress and owner were there and were very friendly. It is located across from the super walmart and since covid, the hours vary. It's been there for over 20 years and I just tried it out. The chicken salad on croissant is good, but does need some seasoning. The traditional breakfast was also good, although the bacon may have been microwave bacon? I'm not sure though. A very chill and relaxing place for the locals to have breakfast/brunch or simply to hang out. There was a table of old ladies playing mahjong when we visited, so I'm sure they won't mind if you decided to spend the whole morning there just to hang out. The staff was super friendly, always with a smile on her face too. However, we did have to reorder a couple times due to their lack of ingredients in the kitchen, and had to wait a little while for our food. I if could give them more stars I would! We wanted to snag a southern brunch before going home and this one knocked it out of the park. It's a small little café with a nice quaint decorum. The dishes were packed with flavor and the iced coffee had the *good* ice. You all know exactly what I mean about the ice, it's not quite chips or shavings but MAN it makes the difference. There were only 3 people working I think it's a local family. They seemed nice but I mean with all the pandemic restrictions, I think they could have used a break. It was only about 15 minutes from the airport so I would suggest HIGHLY for the travels of the world, to go out of their way to stop in here. I wanted to buy this beautiful quilt on the wall but it was pricey! They have all kinds of little things to buy food and whatnots. I do enjoy a place a little off the beaten trail. We enjoyed it here! Had breakfast here & then went for a second visit with my aunt and uncle when they visited. Owner and staff very nice! What a great little place. Breakfast we had to order banana fritters to check them out! They were good. Reminded me more of a "flapjack" or crepe, because it was thin, but so good! I had the croissant with tavern ham, egg & cheese and they served it with their homemade mini brownie, which was also yummy! My husband has a cheese omelet, which was ok. He said the biscuit and sausage was ok, but most likely not ordered that again. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it here. Across from Walmart Supercenter in a small shopping center, the easy parking is the best outdoor appeal in this area. Indoors offers muffins and drinks to go, spacious seating and a small area of coffee mugs and candles for sale. My first instinct was to order the banana fritters, a favorite for this cafe. Unfortunately, they were out Disappointed, I ordered cheese grits and a ham and cheese omelette instead. I enjoyed the grits but expected the ham to be diced not deli ham. Super late review but in late June I attended this cafe on my way back to Texas from NOLA. I wanted something quick to eat. Came in, the place is a homey little thing. Got seated with a party of 5. The service is pretty slow, mostly because most (if not all) staff are elderly. But I'm patient. Although it took 1.5 hours for my whole visit, that I wanted to be a third of the time because we ordered simple things and wanted to eat as fast as we can, it would be ableist to rush someone in a different generation than me. But the wait time versus eating time was about 4:1. But the food was also pretty sad. The french toast was small and not very much different than something you could make at home. My partner ordered chocolate chip pancakes, which were just pancakes with chocolate chips on top instead of put in the batter(???). My friend's burger tasted like it was previously just frozen and put onto the stove. The coffee was entirely too sweet. But at least their chicken salad croissant was alright. I thought the croissant was nice but nothing to write home about. They little sides are also nothing different from pretzels you'd get from a box at a dive bar. I would skip this place if you're not from around NOLA, because you probably have eaten much better. But if you're from around there and like simple food and have a lot of time on your hands, then this review most likely doesn't pertain to your demographic. read more

We arrived at 11:50 and ordered drinks and food by 12:05. We sat there until 1:05PM and NEVER GOT OUR FOOD! They kept refilling our drinks and saying our food was "coming soon". Our first time here. We have seen this place numerous times, driving to and fro. Its situated in.a strip plaza. If you go fast enough, you'll miss it. The interior is cozy enough to feel relaxed. They have art on the walls, that can be purchased. Afghans on display for sell also. The day we went in, it was pretty cold inside. Maybe, because it was still early and the heating system hasn't caught up yet? At any rate, we were the only ones there. Server came and took our orders. It seemed to take awhile to get our coffee. Great southern breakfast! The breakfast special sandwich with sausage is one of the best breakfast croissant sandwich I've ever had.

We have been on the hunt for different places since we moved to Destrehan a year ago. We moved from Harahan and there were more places to eat just on hickory then the entire Destrehan area. My son and I enjoyed a breakfast here last weekend. Let me first say. I loved the mismatched coffee mugs. It kinda felt like grandma's house. The omelet was fluffy, fresh and not a speck of brown on it. It was cooked very well. The prices were reasonable. About the same as other breakfast places. I plan on taking the entire family this Saturday. So glad I found a nice, quite and local place to get something to eat. read more
