I would normally consider this a really over-priced dining experience, but since it is an airport location they get a 'free pass'. My sandwich was delicious, and (to me) the perfect amount of 'kick'. I finished every bite. Where this restaurant stumbles is with service. I must assume they realize they are not building a repeat/loyalty base so standard hospitality standards are not front of mind. I encourage them to be careful with that plan. I still can easily recommend a visit here if at MSY.

If you're passing through the airport, this is a must-visit. The red beans and rice are incredibly flavorful. Overall the menu is reasonably priced, especially considering normal terminal prices. Despite how very busy it was, Julie was still attentive. To top it all off, the bread pudding was exactly what I've been looking for--the perfect comfort food before a flight.

I sat at the bar. As a solo traveler that's usually my seat of choice. Service was excellent. I have eaten here before and really enjoyed my meal. Think I had a cup of gumbo and a shrimp or an oyster sandwich previously. This time, after being in New Orleans for 10 days, I was hungry but didn't feel like having anything battered and fried in a poboy. So I opted for the cochon sandwich. WOW! really delicious. What made it a standout was the pickled red onions and the kale slaw. What a difference this lovely combination of tangy veggies made to an otherwise ordinary poboy. Fries were great too. It's still kind of a heavy meal, so you might want to go for gumbo and a salad before a flight...but if you are looking for something more substantial and tasty, give this a shot.

Having traveled to a lot of airports throughout the U.S., I would definitely give Leah's Kitchen a 3.5-4-star rating. Sure, it's not the same as eating at many of the wonderful restaurants in the heart of NOLA, but there were a number of positives during our experience there. The restaurant is located right after TSA screening and was really busy, but we managed to grab a table pretty quickly. They really didn't have enough servers, but our server was polite and efficient even though she was managing a lot of tables. It did take a while to get our order in and our food, but our server did her best and kept us updated throughout. We got pretty large cups of refreshing cold water without ice, and the unsweetened ice tea was brewed pretty strong which was good. I went with the shrimp po'boy which included a decent amount of plump, tender fried shrimp that were seasoned pretty well on top of a crusty roll that was dressed with shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes and some pickles. Mayo came on the side which was a little inconvenient for a dressed po'boy, but allowed you to put as much as you wanted. We got a big bottle of Crystal's hot sauce that helped a lot flavor-wise. The accompanying fries were hot and creamy inside. All in all, a good experience for an airport restaurant and a nice food send off as we headed home after visiting NOLA.

As I mentioned in the airport review, I was at the airport way longer than I expected. My flight was delayed multiple times so I got to know all the shops in the airport and got a couple of meals in. For lunch I decided to stop into Leah's Kitchen. The staff were super friendly. I got seated in no time in the area I requested and it wasn't a problem. They brought me water quickly and I had a look through the menu. After seeing they had fried chicken, I decided to look up if it was good and saw some alright reviews. I settled on the fried chicken. It wasn't too long but I got my fried chicken and it looked decent. Portion size was nice, fries looked generic. I had a few bites and I think I was spoiled in NO with some of the really good fried chicken. It was decent here but nowhere as nice as what I had during my trip. I think for an airport you can do a lot worse for food! I wouldn't have an issue ordering this again. At no point did I feel rushed or left unattended. They let me enjoy my meal while I waited out my long delays throughout the day.

Was a little worried coming here after some of the recent 1 star reviews. Service: It didn't take long for the hostess to seat me. My server was Jose and he was very polite. Water never ran empty for me, and he was knowledgeable on the menu. From door to table to food was approximately 30 minutes in total. Food: I ultimately settled on the shrimp po'boy w/ substitution of red beans and rice instead of the French fries. With previous reviews talking about the food being bland again I was not knowing what to expect. The food was NOT bland. It was great portions for the price, and filling. Ambiance: mostly heard the hustle and bustle of people walking to their terminals, the music inside the restaurant was low and the staff were in and out of the kitchen moving plates to tables. I recommend anyone come here, I don't know if there has been a change in staff or what changed but from what I read with the 1 star reviews simply was not the case for my experience. Cost: ~$21

I always forget how good the food randomly is here.

The flavor here always blows my mind. Some of my favorite flavors in NOLA. This place is empty every time we come in, the hostess is a hoot but the service is always, distracted by something else. But the food comes quickly

How in the world could anyone give this place less than 5 stars ? Jose the bartender super nice. Gumbo - damn. Lots of sausage shrimp and chicken. Fried chicken. Omg. So good and hot and fresh. I've been to Dookeyz. This is a great extension. And totally worth it

Meh. Stopped in here for breakfast before our flight home. Coffee was horrendous. The shrimp and grits was okay. Six gulf shrimp smothered in a Cajun red sauce on a bed of grits.

OK it's in an airport. For an airport Leah's Kitchen is sooooo much better than you should expect to eat here. Truth is they could hold their own against any restaurant in New Orleans that serves this traditional/classic type of menu. My gumbo was very good. But my sides of greens and red beans are why I had to leave this review. This isn't fancy food--it's just wicked gooooood. And tho they are priced like sides, these are meal-size portions. If you aren't familiar with NOLA-style braised greens, or red beans & rice (and sausage of course), this is as good an introduction as you're going to get. As to the rest, our servers were lovely, and the space is pleasant and fine for people-watching. If you're at MSY and hungry, you can't do better than Leah's.

Leah's Kitchen in the New Orleans airport was a pleasant surprise before our flight out. We were craving one last bite of NOLA flavor, and this definitely delivered. The red beans and rice were tasty, and the sausage was spicy, savory, and cooked just right--flavor in every bite. We also got the shrimp po' boy, which came with a side of fries. The shrimp po' boy held up great even as a to-go meal--we ate it on the plane and still loved it. Honestly, for airport food, this was some of the best we've had. It felt like a proper send-off instead of sad airport snacks. The interior is unexpectedly charming for a terminal restaurant. There's a really pretty mural along the wall that makes the place feel rooted in local pride. We also loved the whimsical touch of pans cascading down from the ceiling--it's playful and memorable. The staff were friendly and moved quickly, which is always appreciated when you're trying to catch a flight. The portion sizes were generous and everything was fresh. The seasoning on both the beans and the shrimp had that classic NOLA kick. We kept comparing it to meals we had in the city and it definitely held its own. Leah's Kitchen felt like a last delicious hug from New Orleans. We'd absolutely stop here again if we're flying through MSY.

Pretty quick service considering there were only 2 people working the bar and the FOH. Impressive indeed Food came out quick and hot Was a bit put off by the reviews on yelp before, but glad we decided to try it. Ordered the fried chicken and chicken salad Fried chicken was fried well, not too heavy on the seasoning which was good to give our tastebuds a bit of a break Chicken salad was pretty standard, no complaints A safe choice restaurant for dinner prior to a flight, but if you have more time to eat before the airport, I suggest you to do it

    Blackened shrimp remoulade
    Vicki N.

The very best airport food and the prices were not exorbitant. There was a long line to get in this restaurant and it moved slowly. But once I was in and seated, everything went well. My server Cherian was very attentive and helpful. She brought my drink pretty quickly. I ordered the creole queens crown. Umm this is very strong and also it taste delicious. There is one note in it that I can't quite pin point but whatever it is, Yum! I didn't know what a remoulade was but this mentioned it had blue cheese and I am a blue cheese fanatic. It came out and it's pretty much a salad but it taste good, loved the fried green tomatoes. I will say I wasn't the hugest fan of the peach cobbler, I like a more firm crust, this was a bit mushy., but all in all my meal was great here. I recommend it.

I was arriving from Houston on a short trip and had been on the road for several hours and I decided to stop on my way in. It wasn't very crowded so parking was no problem. I was immediately seated and given a menu. I decided on fried catfish which cam with a small corn on the cob, some French bread and additionally coleslaw and potato salad. I had a Moscow mule type drink while I waited. My meal came out nice and hot and I immediately knew I couldn't eat all of this. The fish was crispy and the cold slaw was creamy . The service was excellent and my server even recommended a few dishes before I ordered but I had made up my mind before I sat down. Definitely a place for good seafood and there is a seafood market next door.

We were recommended to try Harbor seafood & oyster bar for oysters and softshell crabs, so I made…read morereservations for a party of 4, and they were ready with plenty of seats when we arrived. Pros: the food was fantastic! Softshell crabs were a bit on the small side, but it's understandably the end of the season. We loved that the batter was good so you could really appreciate them without the batter being overpowering. Their oyster sampler and chargrilled oysters were fantastic. The "crawfish" (large boiled shrimp instead because it's off season) bloody Mary was fantastic. Food came out quickly and portions were awesome. Cons: service needed work (yes, I brought it up while I was there, and the manager seemed very, very confused). Our waitress was very sweet, and checked on us often, but messed up our order several times. She accidentally duplicated one order, but different wait staff (& the young manager? who even splashed soup on one of our diners) brought the food to the table. I mentioned the error the moment they placed the food down. Despite explaining the error, the manager seemed super confused, and asked a couple of times what was wrong, before going to ask the waitress in front of us and pointing at the order paper. She seemed stressed, so we told her we'd keep the incorrect order (seafood platter instead of softshell platter) to not inconvenience her, but mentioned that we'd at least like them to correct one of the sides we really wanted to try (we'd ordered side salad & hush puppies, they gave us potato salad & harbor potatoes). I asked the manager if he could swap the incorrect side for the correct side. He seemed out of it and very confused and asked if we wanted him to take the whole order away, I said no, we just wanted the hush puppies side we originally ordered. He walked away, then came back and asked if we wanted a side of hush puppies and we said yes? (Because we had ordered a meal with hush puppies as our side). He said he'd bring us a side of hush puppies. Waitress comes over and apologizes and says the confusion was that she wrote "hp" for harbor potatoes AND hush puppies (doesn't explain how she mixed up a softshell crab platter with a seafood platter and a salad with ranch for potato salad). When I got the check, she charged us for the incorrect order AND added a side of hush puppies. I didn't ask them to correct the entire incorrect meal, but I asked why they charged us extra for the side they got wrong. The waitress said it's because we kept the incorrect side (I had asked the manager to swap them out, he didn't). She says she'll ask him about it, and I hear them arguing loudly in the back. She comes out upset and says he won't remove it, so she guesses she'll just have to pay for them herself. Just disappointed in how management handled a common food industry error and how they treated the waitress. I'm not sure if anything else was going on that night, but I'm happy to chat with more senior management since I couldn't find an email on their website.

This is an extremely casual place, that is both a seafood market and restaurant. I chose to lunch in. The service is friendly and familiar. I felt just as welcomed as the regulars. The menu is full of tempting selections, but knew a few things I wanted. I started off with a cup of seafood gumbo. After the first bite, I regretted not getting a bowl! Next time! It was rich and flavorful, and was clearly not rushed. Next, I also tried the chicken and andouille gumbo. Also excellent, but just slightly shy of the seafood version. The main portion of the meal was what I came for: the crawfish boil. I asked for spicy, and was informed there was only "just right," and they were correct. Initially, I was surprised that the dish came out warm, but not hot, but that, too, was just right. Oh, and the price! Usually, when you see "market price," you expect to lighten your wallet a bit, but in this case, that meant $5.99 for pound. It's crawfish season, I'm told, but still....
