I got the gumbo and wasn't the biggest fan of it. The service was above average. The place was busy, lots of folks sitting in enjoying what Cajun Seafood has to offer which is a massive menu of seafood. I also got the shrimp po boy on a bun, the cheapest option. I packed this bad boy with lots of hot sauce and it was the best item I ordered from Cajun Seafood. I'd def come back and try something other than the gumbo but the po boy hit the spot.
I never had a bad meal. Never had a bad bag or anything. Never had a bad box of anything. Never had a bad bite of ANYTHING! If you like flavor, seasoning and spice, this is your spot! I always get turkey necks, snow crab, corn, potatoes and eggs. Service is consistent and quick. This location is always clean and the restrooms are attended to. (Only posted my bags this time because I was ready to eat maybe I'll post more later!)

Rating: 9.5/10 A staple! This is my favorite location and it's the perfect spot under the bridge off Claiborne. Food: It's early in the season so the crawfish were a bit small. The flavor is soooooooo good! Also tried their fried rice, it reminded me instantly of the kind from STL. Price: Crawfish were going for $8.99 a lb.

At the time I visited, there was a guy who was manging and cleaning the area. He took great are of us and made sure we had napkins and trays. Just an FYI, Cajun Seafood is outside of the tourist areas.

Service was standard because they are use to volumes of people coming in and out. Food was surprisingly good , I say that because you see it sitting out and misjudge the taste but I tell you I got the crab legs that was in that bucket and they were still way too remove and so much flavor and I got a side of fried rice and some garlic sauce " which I heard you could get it for free before they got brand new" I didn't even leave when I ordered my food I ate it all there at the restaurant and I felt like a pig but a satisfied one. The ambiance isn't loving but food great.

Nestled in the heart of a neighborhood, this spot offers fresh seafood and hot, made-to-order dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed the soft-shell crabs, which were perfectly seasoned and fried, along with the shrimp fried rice. I also grabbed a praline for dessert. Prices are very reasonable, and we opted to dine in. I'll definitely be a loyal repeat customer--this is officially a new tradition for my NOLA trips.

I honestly have the crawfish boil here It's seasoned well and the prices are great! 6.99 lbs for crawfish boil is a steal! 4/20/26 Went back 4/22/26 and crawfish was $5.99lbs Ate 6lbs all by myself! Delishhhhh! Ordered crawfish pie, paid $4xx and they totally forgot To pack it wahhh! Was to lazy to go back so blah! When I asked a the coworker when I went back 2 days later they said nothing they can do cause I left the store already:-( whateveas! They still have bomb crawfish! Fried Chicken and red bean rice is fire! Reminds me of those mom and pops gas station chickens yum! $7.99 can't beat that price! 5/5 Service 3/5 Place is huge and pretty clean.
Ok listen. This place doesn't get talked about when coming to get food in New Orleans. Found this spot on the way out and couldn't believe I didn't know about it before. Giant turkey necks, boiled crabs of all sizes, Chinese food, fried seafood platters, fried turkey wings, crawfish by the lb, and even Pig feet. I got some turkey necks with eggs and it was seasoned perfectly. Mad I was leaving and didn't get more. There are a few tables to sit but this is more like a grab and go place. The line was constantly long but constantly moving. This is now on my list everytime I come to town.

This place has the best crawfish I've ever had, even my mom ate 10 pounds by herself! We ordered 12 pounds of crawfish and all of it was perfectly hot, spicy, and seasoned. The service was also amazingly fast as there was a guy who gave all of us plastic gloves, cardboard boxes, plates, utensils, and paper towels. He definitely deserved a tip. The ambience of this place is casual, it's similar to a food court with tvs displaying the menu. The price for the crawfish was reasonable unlike some other restaurants near it. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this location. The 1.2k reviews don't lie.
I wish we had found this place sooner because we absolutely would have eaten here more than once. We were looking for local seafood, specifically blue crab. We ended up going all over the place until we ended up here. The selection here was fantastic. The pricing was super reasonable. And everything was absolutely delicious. Couldn't recommend this option more. Definitely not a fancy restaurant, but that isn't what we were looking for. Casual, delicious, with local options.

No frills in here. You come for the food and that's it. I was towards the end of crawfish season so not the best quality butttt the way they made it - that spice no sauce is exactly what I was looking for and hard to find at that time. Definitely would go back. I was nervous eating the potato looks like it been in there for 4 days so I'll stick to just the crawfish. read more

THE FIRST STOP EVERY TIME I TOUCH DOWN! This is a buffet style setup as well as fried foods made to order. They have inside seating and depending on the time you go, expect a line. I was there at 10am on a Friday rising to assure I didn't have to wait and I could get my Mardi Gras Festivities started! No matter what you order, get a pineapple big shot to go along with it! You won't be disappointed! The crawfish was yummy and seasoned really well, as always! The corn is spicy and I love it! The crab was an offering but the seagulls loved it! Make sure you stop here and get whatever you have the taste for because you won't regret it! read more
Sunday funday in NOLA and shall I say more? We stopped by this seafood eatery on Sunday because we heard great things about the gumbo and crab legs. When we arrived, the streets were booming, sidewalks littered with people, music and culture. When we arrived there was a security guard outside only allow 2-3 ppl inside. Not sure if this is typical protocol but it was hot and we stood outside for about 30-40 mins waiting to enter. Once we got inside, the store was completely dark, when we asked staff about the lights and how we couldn't see the menu, one member shrugged her shoulders and said "power outage". Based on demeanor, I can tell it's happened before and not a big deal. We were told it was out for 3 hours and caused some worry because of health codes, refrigeration, heating and dealing with seafood, that's an issue. With all that considered, We ordered gumbo, crab legs, ooey gooey cake, and boudin balls. The crab legs were the star of the show as they were flavored and good. The gumbo was burnt. The roux taste like we got the scrapings from the bottom of the pot, but the burnt gumbo was no good at all. The boudin was not as crispy as I would like and filling was quite bland. The cake was just that, an under cooked strawberry cake with no distinctive Flavors of strawberry at all. Not sure if this was an off day, but it didn't live up to the hype. read more

Cajuns is always on the list when visiting NOLA. Being that I went to college in New Orleans Cajuns was our go to during those collegiate years. The food is always great, boiled seafood or fried it's all good. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for some fresh seafood. read more

Hidden gem of NOLA if you love seafood. Reasonably priced and there are often specials. We got a pound of crawfish for $6.99! Huge boiled shrimp with heads on were $9.99. Everything was so fresh and perfectly spiced. Parking can be tough, but park across the street under the bridge. read more

Service was amazing! I had a lot of questions and they had the patience and time to answer with a line full of people. Very clean also. Very good, boiled, seafood, and mushrooms, I did not care for the pig feet. It tasted very swine-y if that makes sense, like it had been cooked inside of beans all day. Maybe it needed some vinegar. I was in New Orleans last week for a girls trip, and Cajun's was close to the house we rented. A few locals recommended it, so we decided to check it out but honestly, I was very disappointed. I ordered the soft shell crab po' boy, and it was a mess. They did not do a good job deshelling the crab--underneath the batter were full-on shells that I had to eat around. On top of that, it felt like it was mostly batter with barely any crab. The po' boy was just okay at best. I also ordered the gumbo... and that was not gumbo. Once I found out the place was Asian owned, it started to make more sense. It just didn't taste authentic. The gumbo had one shrimp (yes, one), mostly chicken, no sausage, and a crab leg that was the spiky kind you couldn't even crack open. Easily the WORST gumbo I've ever had in my life... if you would even call it that. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because of the crawfish pie. Though really, it should be called a crawfish patty. It's made with the same dough used in Jamaican patties and stuffed with crawfish. That was actually decent and the one bright spot in my meal. I wouldn't go back, and I definitely don't recommend this place unless you're just going there specifically for crawfish or Chinese food. For anything else it's a hard pass. read more

I always stop here when I visit back home. You can grab dungeoness, snow, or blue crabs, shrimp, turkey necks, eggs, etc in boil seasoning ready to take or sit and eat. There's Chinese food, po'boys, and other items on this menu. I brought some spicy garlic butter home with me. yay!!! read more

I walked here from Jackson square- not really that far so I suggest you run to this place because it was super good. I know my boils and the crawfish, turkey necks, corn and blue crabs were spiced perfectly. Possibly one of the freshest crabs I've had in the French quarter. read more

A friend recommended Cajun's to me, saying it's the best spot in New Orleans for boiled seafood--and let me tell you, she wasn't lying! My last two visits were absolute must-stops, and I made sure to go. There's always a line, so be prepared to wait, but trust me, it's worth it. Both times, I got 4 pounds of crawfish, boiled pig's feet, and turkey neck, Turkey necks about as long as your arm. No joke, Along with fried rice, garlic butter, and mushrooms. Every bite was delicious! Price can add up quickly as I spend close to $100 every visit but let me tell you its worth it. I came to Cajun Seafood after being recommended it by some locals in the area! When I arrived, the line went out the door, and I knew from the smell that this place would hit the spot. We had to wait about 15 minutes to order and another 20 minutes to get our food, since there were so many customers. The crawfish itself is really tasty with a deep creole flavor, and the gumbo also had a good richness and warmth. I definitely underestimated how much food they give you, they give you a bunch! The dining experience leaves a lot the imagination. DO NOT walk to this place. Uber, drive or public transportation. There are tables to sit and eat but this isn't a "wait on you" restaurant. But depending on where you are staying I might take it to go. The food is good. Good portions. Fries are solid, nothing to write home about. The soft shell fried crab-Good! Fried oysters-Good! Before departing New Orleans today, I searched online for a good crawfish place with noodle soup. Found a new Asian fusion spot in town but their prices were straight up offensive--like running your dog over offensive ($17 won ton soup WTF?!), so I decided to go back to Cajun Seafood for the second time this weekend. Tried yakimein soup for the first time. Their combo option with shrimp, chicken, and beef hit the spot for this lady's hangover. Crawfish was ringing up at $16.99lb so I only got a half pound along with a half pound of head on shrimp. Hubby got the fried oyster poboy and said it was one of the best he's ever had. Stop on by if you're hankering for some good food. Your wallet, and belly, will thank you! read more

They will be out of season So they probly will not have any but you can always try
Do the boil bags come with some type of seasoning/sauce?
No additional seasoning outside of how the meal was cooked but the food is well seasoned in advance.
Does crawfish still fresh and in season? How was the frozen cf?
It's in season from March to June. They will keep some frozen ones in stock, but I don't find it to be as good.
