We went there without any expectations because our original place we really wanted to try out ran out of crawfish. Being from the west coast, I have never heard of Viet-cajun before so we decided to give it a try. It was phenomenal! The best seafood boil seasoning I've had, and it's not an exaggeration. The Viet-cajun seasoning was on the spicier side though. It had me sweating and glad that there was a wall of refrigerated drinks next to me. We were told that at this store, there is no choice for spice level, only at the Kenner location. Overall, a pleasant surprise! Great service, delicious food!
Literally been passing here for years and never went! The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was clean as well. The options were endless lol I didn't know where to start. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. I would definitely go back! There's was only one dish that was just "okay" and that was the garlic noodles. Other than that no complaints!
We ordered the softshell crab platter and the seafood platter with a side of etouffee. The softshell crab was over fried and for the seafood platter, the catfish was the only thing I enjoyed. Nothing special about the etouffee. The service was great. I didn't like it that we didn't get an itemize receipt. We basically paid what we were told the bill is after we finished our food.
I was craving a po boy the whole week so I decided to try Big EZ Seafood again since it's been a while & it's close to my workplace. The service was good and quick. The inside was your standard seafood place, but still clean and had a good amount of seating available. I got their 6 inch Shrimp Po Boy (with tax = $10.43). The po boy was pretty good! It's your standard shrimp po boy, but everything was hot & fresh. The only complaint I really have is that there was too little shrimp inside and that it was a little overpriced for the size. Also, parking can be a little tight. Aside from that, Big EZ's a decent seafood spot in Gretna. I might try out their actual seafood next time.
Oh my gosh, the best tasting seafood boil I have EVER had. That sauce was absolutely delicious. I wanted to drink it!! I've never experienced a seafood boil with a hint of sweetness in the sauce. It was incredible. I'm bummed it's so far away from me! Hopefully one day I'll get to return.
There was an itch for crawfish and this location was highly recommended. It didn't disappoint, its a great dive location with a handful of tables, set of drink coolers lining the walls, and a large set of counters to order from. Family ordered several pounds of crawfish, couple large gumbos, and a couple fried baskets. The large gumbos are no joke - 32 ounces with rice on the side. Of the gumbos we ordered the chicken sausage and the seafood gumbo. The seafood gumbo was superior but its likely the seafood seasoning thats mixed in there. The crawfish was a win, it came out fresh in a large tray. Family enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.
First visit and picked up a takeout of a fried shrimp basket (came with shrimp fried rice and hush puppies), fried crawfish tail poor boy (specify 6 or 12 inch), and onion rings. Place was busy with dine in and take out. Food was well seasoned and fried. There's enough for a big meal or leftovers. There's a large dining area across from the counter where you order along with seating near the entrance. Walls have lovely murals painted with bayou scenes. Service was quick and friendly. I will return to try the flavored crawfish.
I tried calling in a phone order many times over a span of 10 minutes but the line was always busy so I ended up ordering online. Website kinda sucks for ordering. I got 2 lbs crawfish ez blend, 1 lb crawfish viet Cajun blend and mix-in's (two corn, potatoes and sausage). I only wanted one order of the seafood boil mix-ins, but if you add it to the bag with 2 lbs of crawfish, it makes it so that you have 2 orders of the mix-in's. If you only want one order of the mix-ins, then you'd have to order it with 1 lb. Essentially the number of add on's will match the number of pounds you buy. Ex: If you want 3 lbs of crawfish but only one sausage, place 2 lbs crawfish then 1 lb crawfish with mix-in's Flavor wise, SO GOOOOD. The ez blend and Cajun butter were delicious, the perfect amount of garlicky buttery goodness. I love viet Cajun crawfish and this hit the spot. Both flavors were good but I liked the viet Cajun a liiiiittle more, although I ended up mixing both flavors together in the same bag lol. I appreciate that they actually weigh out the pounds of crawfish so you know you're getting what you paid for. Service.. slow and not the most welcoming. 40ish min for an online order, and there weren't many diners inside - didn't seem busy at all but perhaps it was a lot of online orders. The food ended up being ready 20+ min past the original estimated time. If you're going to order online, I'd recommend placing the order 45 min to an hour ahead. It was $5.99/lb for traditional crawfish and 7.50/lb for viet Cajun crawfish. I think it's worth it given the flavors, butter ain't cheap in this economy hahah. I'd come back but for sure plan to place my order an hour in advance.

Great service, the servers were very polite and helpful to me and my large party with questions about the menu. We ordered several seafood platters and a few poboys and some garlic fries. Everything was delicious and fairly priced. Drinks are self serve from the wall in the back which I felt was an interesting concept. High quality seafood, the traditional seasoning had a decent spice level, I just wish the flavor profile was a little more complex as it just tasted "spicy" with no other distinguishable flavors. Would definitely visit again!

This time we drove out of NOLA and into Algiers specifically to try this seafood place. Sometimes finding the outbid way spots are so much better. This is not fancy by any means and qualifies as a mom n pop. So we were excited. The smells are unbelievable as soon as you walk in. We loved the smell of fresh seafood and it's a market as well. Fresh crabs sitting in bins ok top of the counter. The two young men behind the counter were so helpful and friendly. Decided on the special. It was very reasonable at $45. Came with shrimp, soft shell crab, sausage, two ears of corn, hard boiled eggs AND snow crab legs. Then we can pick out our cold beers from the cooler. I would have given them 5 all day long, except the shrimp were way overcooked. The sauce is spicy but full of so many awesome flavors! We would come back again next time we're in NOLA!
A friend recommended this place to check out whilst in NOLA. The location was a tad out of town so I got an uber there which wasn't so bad. Got to see the city en route. The restaurant does not take reservations and there was no queue when I got there. Ordered a mixture of their combos with different seasonings. All were very delicious and reasonably priced. Friendly service at what I would describe as a local neighbourhood restaurant. I would recommend the fried rice. Also ordered the garlic butter noodles. I wasn't too much of a fan. Bring your own water as they don't have any available unless you buy it. read more

we came near the end of the day coming straight from the airport. Reviews were high and we were starving. We did charboiled oysters, the seafood boil viet cajun style, some garlic noodles..... Overall it was okay, not sure if it was because it was the end of the day but coming from the bay area, it wasn't anything special or different. Service was really nice though! read more

YUM! the south has made me love seafood boil. I loved how big the crawfish were. The girl working the counter was so nice and i love how real she was. She told us which seafood were good and which ones were small or not worth it. BOMB DOT COM! We did 2 lbs of snow crab, 1lb of blue crab, with corn and potatoes and it was so delicious! We choose the garlic butter sauce for some of it and the blend of sauces for the rest! SO MUCH FOOD! 10/10 recommend. read more

Oh my, this was my first time having crawfish. I was taught the proper way to eat it and, have to say, they were delicious. I got 2 pounds of the Cajun flavoured with corn and it was delightful- especially for my first time. I loved the communal tables and readily available paper towel everywhere. I usually can't handle spice so I was surprised how well I lasted! Strong recommendation, I'd go back the next time I'm in NOLA read more

Place was pretty packed on a weekday but we found a table. Seafood is decent. We ordered a boil bag of some sort, mussels, and then snow crab leg boil bag. We got the original for the boil. Looks like their seafood generally is sauced in a butter garlic type sauce which we weren't use to. But it had a nice kick without being too spicy. Potatoes had no flavor though so they must not soak them. Good took a while but it was worth it. I also ordered garlic fries which I would not recommend. Nothing fancy but worth the try. Okay, so hear me out. The area around here isn't the best and the restaurant itself isn't anything crazy special, but their crawfish was hands down incredible. We were looking for Viet-Cajun style crawfish and we stumbled on this place. First things first, you have to order at the counter. They also have an AYCE option too. Anyway, there were 5 of us, and we ordered 17 pounds of crawfish. Normally, I wouldn't be able to tackle that much even if we were sharing, but the crawfish was so dang good... we couldn't stop eating. I definitely recommend getting their EZ house blend for their crawfish. So buttery and slightly sweet with their citrus flavoring. The heat is perfect, as well. The heat adds up and it definitely gets progressively spicier. But it's not unbearable where you can't handle it since it's balanced with the buttery garlic and citrus. Probably the only downside to this place was the fact that they didn't serve any alcohol. Beer and crawfish is a great combination, so it was unfortunate that they didn't have any alcohol. Otherwise; everything about the food here was just 10/10. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for some amazing crawfish. read more
Wow I had such low expectations for this place because I had no idea what to expect of this place... but oh man was this place bomb! We went on a Sunday afternoon, there was no crowd, and I'm typically used to SoCal boil, but wow the EZ blend seasoning and flavoring on the crawfish was incredible! It was well salted, flavorful, and the crawfish were big and juicy. For a place that looked like a casual convenience store, this place knows how to make a great seafood boil. Will be making it back here when I visit again! read more
We were looking for restaurant that serves crawfish in New Orleans, We should of call first because its not the season so they don't have it. They only serve fresh seafood. We ordered some shrimp instead the flavor was yummy with combination of viet sauce and house sauce, it was yummy and tasty The service was fast and usually pay after eating. Large party and we were able to be seated together without having to wait. You order and sit down, they bring the food to you and you pay when you're done with the meal. I think they aren't used to serving a large party though because they definitely gave our order to our friends even though we were the first to order. Didn't really get much besides a "sorry 'bout it" even when we followed up on order and they told us to just wait. Got gumbo, garlic noodles, and crawfish etouffee. The gumbo and garlic noodles were okay and the crawfish etouffee definitely was a lot better. It was creamy and rich and had a good amount of crawfish tails inside. We got 3 lbs crawfish and 2 lbs of shrimp since it came in the deal with extra add on items. You can't adjust the spice level and I felt it was a mild, would've liked the option to make it spicier. The food itself was quite amazing and felt like a true New Orleans experience. The yakamein was recommended to us, as this is a twist on pho with a hint of New Orleans (had chicken, shrimp, veggies, boiled egg, and the broth was flavorful). The seafood boil was incredible, and I liked how they had options of what sauces it could come in. What I did not like about this place was the service and ambiance. For starters, you don't pay for your bill until after your meal is done (but you aren't served really like with a waiter or waitress to come check on you). When we were asking the workers questions about what to get, they weren't very helpful so make sure you know what you want ahead of time. After you order, you just find an open table and wait for your food. However, there were a few tables that were not cleaned off to sit at. Finally, toward the end of our meal, my boyfriend and I kept hearing a snapping noise. We didn't realize that this was some sort of fly or bug trap until we almost finished the meal completely. It appeared to have just been by the back door and not in the kitchen so maybe it was okay... It definitely would turn me off from ever going there again, but I am glad we experienced it once. read more
