I think this location used to be a Burger King. Anyhow, it is now Sam's. Dined here as a party of 4 on a Saturday afternoon. There was a good crowd. One orders at the register, and the same guy that one places the order with is the same guy that brings the food out and the same guy that checks to see if one has any issues with the food. His service was 5/5! Food is cooked to order and came out hot so there was a bit of a wait. Their biscuits were good. Hush puppies were a little spicy but full of flavor. Chicken tenders and fried fish were just ok. I did NOT like the batter on the shrimp. Their menu has a generous selection of fried items if that is what you are in the mood for.

The sandwich was perfect -- just the right amount of bread, generously filled with large, juicy shrimp, and paired with crispy, golden French fries.

The restaurant had a nice environment and good hospitality. For appetizers, I tried the sizzling jumbo gulf shrimp and char-grilled oysters. Those shrimp were absolutely amazing, the grill added such a great flavor and that garlic butter sauce was drinkable!!! My only complaint was that you only get 4 shrimp that were not jumbo in my eyes, so i'd say this dish was overpriced. While I didn't order the char-grilled oysters I went ahead and tried one. I was hesitant but I was pleasantly surprised, the texture reminded me of a mushroom and the parmesan crust was really good on it. All entrees came with a salad that I wasn't expecting and while the dressing isn't my usual go-to it was really good!!! I couldn't even tell you what it was but it was sweet, garlicky, herbaceous and had a lot of parmesan in it! For my main I ordered the Salmon Lafitte which was grilled salmon with a side of orzo. The salmon had great flavor but was more on the well done side rather than medium well as requested but it was very fresh. The creamy orzo with mushrooms and spinach stole the show. It was delicious and so flavorful, you may need to add salt to it but all the ingredients complemented each other so well and made a very good dish. My sister ordered the Herb Roasted Chicken with Broccolini and Mashed Potatoes which was also a very good dish. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well throughout, again maybe slightly overcooked but the flavor was delicious and the garlic butter sauce that came with it was divine!! Overall, I will definitely be dining here again! I had a memorable time and look forward to making my next visit here!

We were seated in the front where there are huge windows, TVs, and overhead fans. Emma was our server. She was very sweet and attentive. It was a Friday lunch but we decided to order too much! We started with a perfectly balanced chilled Aviation cocktail (the best one my husband has ever had) and a La Bon Vie. Then a half dozen chargrilled oysters (which were hot and buttery). Complimentary warmed French loaf was served to us in a paper bag. Our main entrees were chicken and andouille sausage gumbo (not the best I've had in NOLA) and a French Dip sandwich (delicious sliced beef and a satisfying cheese pull but too much bread).

As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must. My friends ordered the filet and the gulf fish, and I had the charred cabbage entree, with a French gerwurztraminer blend. The mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce were so rich and delicious! Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. It's an honest, no BS creole inspired cuisine. 100% coming back soon!

And yet again, I am so thankful for Yelp steering me in the right direction yet again! A short Uber from the French Quarter brought us to what I believe is such a special hidden gem! The moment you step into Atchafalaya, you realize it. Ambience is amazing, quirky, cool, homey and cozy. Staff is amazing. We sat in our own private room and were treated to a very special delight of a dinner. I tried the incredible fried green tomatoes, the seafood soup (?) and the incredible steak...wow, everything was amazing. And not only did Chef Christopher Lynch come out to say hello to my Autistic son but the owner Tony Tocco did as well and it made his day! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It was super close to where we were staying, and since I didn't catch a seafood boil in the Quarter or anywhere else in town, I had to try this spot. My friend and I had our eyes on it, but once our Uber driver confirmed it was a bomb spot, we were all in and it did not disappoint. I even met a lady who drives 45 minutes just to get here, so if she makes that trek, you know this is the spot. I will be dreaming of this place! Being takeout-only gave it that authentic, local vibe, and I loved every bite. Unlike the typical mixed seafood boils, they bag everything separately, and I mixed it all together once I got back to my place. They have some garlic butter you can add, and I got it spicy! It definitely had a kick, and I loved it. I had a pound of shrimp, added sausage, two boiled eggs, the BOMBEST potatoes and corn, all tossed with the spicy garlic butter and I devoured it. Let me just brag on that shrimp and those potatoes for a second: both were amazing. The potatoes were cooked to perfection! Soft, not mushy, and seasoned just right. And the shrimp? Wow. I can still taste it. If you're in NOLA, you have to check this spot out! I will say one more thing though I wish I had room to try the gumbo! I would have loved to taste it here. Lastly, I didn't get to grab a po' boy in town, so we came back the next morning to try one. Sadly, the seafood section wasn't ready yet (we went around 10:30am), but the roast beef po' boy with gravy, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and maybe few other ingredients in it was incredible. I loved it! You'll definitely catch me here again next time I'm in town. 10,000/10. Thank you, cooks! A few practical things: if you're driving, there's parking. The service was friendly, prices were great, and while there isn't indoor seating, the waiting area is decent-sized. Just know it can get busy!

It was filled with nice chunks of beef, shrimps, and chicken. The broth was perfect (some places make it way too salty) and definitely satisfied my palate. Seafood Gumbo - Like most New Orleanians like me, we don't eat just anyone's gumbo. This hit the spot in every way gumbo should hit the spot! Service: Impeccable! Everyone I've come in contact with at Cajun's on Broad Street have been nothing short of wonderful. My experience has been amazing because they will address you with a smile as soon as they see you. They take your order and engage you in conversation treating you like a human being and not $$$. The staff is courteous and efficient. Ambiance: Fun family vibe and personal attention. If you're ever in the New Orleans area, come and give this business a try. You can only order takeout because there's no seating area to enjoy your meal there which is the reason I rated it 4 stars. Nonetheless, staff is everything and the food is soooooo delicious.

We also appreciated the options they had for vegetarians - my mom got the veggie burger and sweet potato fries and enjoyed both.
