Celebrated a birthday with dinner on a Wednesday for 2. Got there for 530 since we always see it fill up. Seated quick and inside attentive waiter and ordered martinis to start. Fish did was salmon for appetizer and ordered their blackened gulf and regular gulf fish. Tried their bread pudding for dessert. Cocktails were great prices compared to other restaurants and didnt miss on the alcohol. Fish was cooked perfectly and dont short on portions. Adding some older pictures of their peanut butter cake and old fashioned.
I wanted to grab a bite to eat before the parade of homes tour. We decided to try Station 6. My little sister had the lamb burger which was so juicy; that caused her bun to be soggy. I ordered the American red snapper. The prices are a little on the higher side but we enjoyed our food.
Quaint and snug restaurant with all the courses you'd expect from a fine New Orleans restaurant. A nice cocktail menu, somewhat average on execution. Delicious and creative takes on salads. Raw oysters at their freshest and cleanest - the oysters are really impressive. The spinach Madeline is scrumptious. Mains have plentiful food and the meats and seafoods are cooked on point. Sauces, soups and purées fairly New Orleans heavy.... Excellent wait staff - friendly, interested, knowledgeable and they give you the space to enjoy the meal. A bit of an inconsistent dining experience, but overall worth the visit!
How was this weekend the first time I've been to Station 6?! It's a small restaurant with lots of charm. But the food is the real star. My mom and I went here to celebrate my birthday on Saturday evening. We started off with the smoked salmon dip and it was delicious. I've only had it with crackers or crostini at other restaurants so I was a little let down when it came out with pita chips and tortilla chips. However, the tortilla chips were made fresh and were perfect with it. I could have eaten a basket of just the chips. We shared the special which was fried soft-shell crab topped with jumbo lump crabmeat and a lemon beurre blanc. It was the best crab I've ever eaten! It was lightly breaded so you can really taste the crab which was super fresh. There was a generous amount of lump crabmeat on top with the perfect finish, a rich lemon beurre blanc. I can't wait to go back and have this dish again. 10 stars for this crab. We ended by each getting a dessert, peach/blueberry cobbler and butterscotch bread pudding. The bread pudding is made from donuts and was a little crunchy on the outside and light in the inside. Very good. The cobbler was also good with really fresh peaches that were still a little crisp. I would have preferred if it had more time in the oven to crisp up the streusel topping. My mom seemed to enjoy it just as it was. Altogether this was the best meal I've had in a while. The server was fantastic and the food was delicious. I will be returning for sure.

Finally got a chance to stop in and really enjoyed. Lots of fish options for mains. Next time we'd try to sit on the patio as the inside was very loud in my opinion. Started off with 1/2 dozen oysters. They were decent in size and not a bad price. Also had the kale salad which was really good. I could see myself grabbing it for a quick, healthy lunch in the future. BF had the red snapper and I had pompeno. Both were good size portions for the money. We didn't technically need a side but didn't know that at first so ordered the burbant potatoes. They were ok but nothing amazing. Server was very friendly.

Before we dive into the eats, let's talk location. Nestled near the New Orleans lakefront, this casual gem is perfectly positioned for a little pre-dinner adventure. I arrived early, so I climbed the birding observation tower at the park next door, and took in a breathtaking sunset. Nature's amuse-bouche, if you will. Now, onto the main event. Station 6 doesn't put on airs--it's relaxed, unfussy, and has a lovely patio for those who prefer their seafood with a side of fresh air. Our server was an absolute star, cracking jokes, keeping the vibes fun, and even throwing in a little celebratory hug when he announced the crab-on-crab special--which I had been not-so-patiently waiting to hear. And oh, was it worth the suspense: a beautifully fried soft-shell crab smothered in lump crabmeat, draped in a velvety beurre blanc, cozied up to perfectly roasted potatoes and asparagus spears standing at attention. A dish so divine it made me briefly consider taking out a second mortgage to order it again. We also kicked things off with a couple of appetizers--a creamy, dreamy crawfish dip with tortilla chips and a dozen of the plumpest, saltiest-to-the-gods oysters you could hope for. If those oysters were any fresher, they'd be filling out a restraining order against me. Drink-wise, I sipped on a couple of glasses of Cabernet while the rest of the table wisely split bottles. Because here's the thing: no happy hour means each glass of wine or cocktail hovers in the $13-$15 range, which makes splitting a bottle the strategic (read: less painful) choice. Now, let's address the usual elephant in the dining room: pricing. While most of the menu aligns with similar spots in town, that crab-on-crab special came in at a gasp-worthy $49.50. Toss in tax and tip, and you're looking at a $60+ entrée. Worth it? Maybe. But I'd need an extra special occasion (or a financial advisor's blessing) before I order it again. That said, Station 6 remains one of my top picks for consistently excellent food and service--it's just that my wallet and I may need to negotiate terms before my next visit. Will I return? Absolutely. But I may be pulling up with a BYO bottle of wine and a financial plan in place. Choo-choo, Station 6--I'll be back on the platform soon.
I can't believe it's been seven years since my last review of Station 6. Time sure does fly. I'm very happy to report that this is still one of our favorite weekend dinner spots. We're there at least once a month and the food and service are still phenomenal. :)
When my friend swooped me up and told me we were going on an adult field trip to Bucktown, I had no idea how lucky I would be. We sat outside which was very delightful. The outdoor dining area is surrounded by curtains, so we don't have to look at the parking lot. Thank you!! The food was delicious, all the seafood tasted fresh and clean. The crab cake is not to be missed, the remoulade was so good we asked for extra and the crab cake was more crab than cake! Very important to note, as I do not enjoy bready crab cakes. The highlight of our dining experience was definitely our server Phillip. Phillip was prompt, helpful and attentive, what more can three friends on an adult field trip ask for but Philip as our server? I would recommend a trip to station 6 any time you are in Bucktown, USA.
Don't let the casual name fool you. At first glance, one may think this is a sport's bar that sells wings and sliders. However, you'll quickly realize that this place serves up what would be close to fine dining in a small, quaint setting. They also offer outdoor seating with large heaters! Onward to food... I ordered the sizzling garlic shrimp for my appetizer. This was delicious. It arrived at our table still bubbling hot and sizzling per the name. The shrimp were so decadent and plump. The flavor profile was light but buttery and savory. I'm not even a shrimp lover but I would 100% get this again. For my entree, I had the special of the day, which was flounder with mashed potatoes, Brussels, crawfish sauce, and onion strings. Honestly, the waiter had a better description than what I am writing. Nonetheless, it was delicious!!!! It was so easy to eat and everything paired well with a glass of white wine. The seafood was so fresh tasting, which made for an even greater experience. My best friend also enjoyed her food! Overall, I highly recommend. Super cute for a date night and/or just a chill, quality dinner. The service was great and actually pretty fast. The menu is on the shorter side and mostly consists of seafood. Prices are $$-$$$.
Wonderful, friendly service with well crafted cocktails and good food. I don't eat seafood, but what I saw come out looked fresh from the Gulf. The chicken sandwich was an entire breast and lightly breaded with a just the right amount of blue cheese dressing, hot sauce and a few pickles. Flavors were fantastic. The fries were crisp and ready to enjoy. The space is clean and inviting. It's worth a stop for some drinks and some tasty food.

Really late lunch so it wasn't too busy. Ate on the patio and it was so comfortable. Our server, Vince, came right over and took our drink order. He told us about the specials and my mouth was drooling when he said soft shell crab. We started with the smoked salmon dip which was so creamy and delicious. For entrees the hubby had the blackened drum topped with blackened shrimp over Brabant potatoes. He was kind enough to give me a bite and oh boy it was so good. I, of course, had the fried soft shell crab special over smoky asparagus. The crab was topped with more crabmeat and a beurre blanc sauce. The crab was cleaned so well and then lightly fried. It was a very fat crab and every bite was a culinary delight. This was by far the best soft shell crab dish I have ever had. I certainly don't say that lightly because I eat soft shell crabs from the start of the season right up to the end. We were so full that there would be no need to eat dinner. Then Vince of course mentioned the desserts and we chose the chocolate peanut butter doberge cake with chocolate ganache. We told him to make it to go and do not open the box when he brought it to the table! Overall, Station 6 treated us to one of the best meals we have ever had. We're locals and our favorite pastime is eating out at locally owned restaurants. Station 6 is definitely ranked in our top 3!! read more

Great food, great service. We had the LA crawfish spinach dip; it was amazing!! My husband had the trout special and I had the blackened gulf fish. I had a jalapeño margarita, it was ok, a little too hot for me but tasty nonetheless. We will be back. read more

The soft shell crab was hands down the best I've ever had -- perfectly crisp, flavorful, and unforgettable. The potatoes were just as impressive, a true 10/10. Together, they made for an outstanding meal. read more
Phenomenal Everything you've heard plus more My husband said it was the best fish plate he has had (redfish on the half shell add oysters $30, +$11) and I had the American redfish on the crawfish rice pilaf (plus added crab on top! $30) I don't usually enjoy bread pudding but everyone on Yelp said to order it and they were not wrong! We were stuffed but we finished it They had a cocktail special that was similar to egg nog but lighter- very good- ask about cocktail specials tho I'm certain you'll be presented with those right away- service is perfect: waiter was very dialed in and a manager stood by the tables as well NO reservations but plenty of space outside to wait (bar is very small so bad weather could hinder the wait) or you could go for a walk read more

I love everything about this place. From the moment you walk in youre greeted with love! The servers are punctual and informative!! The oysters are ice cold and shucked to perfection! The Crab on Crab special is so worth it. Maybe the best softshell crab dish in the city. Always a different soup and salad!! read more
I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. The hours are limited, so it was hard to get here. My friend and I typically go to lunch on Sundays. As they are not open on Sundays, we had to adjust our lunch to a Saturday. Note that it is a tiny place and gets crowded quick. We came right at noon when they open on Saturday. There were already 8-10 people waiting at the door to get in. We chose to eat inside as the covered outdoors portion seemed appealing, but the fans were on high for the heat and it was kind of like a wind tunnel in there. Inside was super noisy still though. A large table near us was drinking quite a bit and as the hour progressed, they got louder and louder. It was a tad annoying, as we could hardly hear our waitress go over the specials with us. Also, as time passed, the bar there filled up with every seat. We split an order of Salmon Tacos and one of the specials that day - a grilled chicken caesar salad. I think the Salmon Tacos should have come with a side, but they don't. They were excellent though. I think they are the best Salmon Tacos I have ever had. They put a whole large chunk of Salmon in each taco. It was delicious! The salad was tasty, and it was quite large. Note that the prices are on the higher side here. Amazing food. Customer service is excellent. TheAmerican red snapper over crawfish Pilaf was perfectly cooked. I sat at the bar and my meal was very quick My servor, Dillon, recommended the snapper and checked to ensure I was satisfied. The pleasure on his face to know that I was enjoying was an added touch of good service They serve the best soft shell I have had. Went with co-workers for lunch. Casual place with outside seating. We sat outside as the weather was nice. Good service and the wait staff were friendly. Chicken sandwich was decent. It was cooked a little too long being that the chicken was somewhat dry. More of like a seafood spot. read more

Location is easily accessible to Nola and Jefferson parish on the lake in buck town. My party was seated immediately and the service was quick, yet almost a bit too aggressive. Food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. The tuna cracker was sublime. The sizzling shrimp was delicious and tender.... No rubber or overcooked shrimp here. My fish dish was beautifully balanced too. My cocktail was spot on too. read more

I was told that this place was a must visit so we decided to go today since the weather was beautiful. There was a wait, but it wasn't that ba, especially since the had comfortable seating under a tent. The restaurant is small and quaint, but it was really clean. The hostess was great and the staff was on point, especially our server. He was very attentive and friendly. Also knowledgeable about the menu. The food represented 5 star and the taste was really delicious. Definitely enjoyed everything that was served. The tacos were very tasty. I really enjoyed them. They were salmon tacos and they put a whole strip of salmon on it. My husband had the fish, forgot what kind, but he definitely enjoyed it. We both tried the bourbon sweet mash. Not what we expected, but definitely good. The restroom was clean, one toilet restroom. They have the really nice napkins and meyers soap. I would definitely recommend this spot read more
