Boil & Barrel is a great new spot in Lakeview, so of course I had to try it out! The seafood options are delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and seasoned just right. I especially loved the boil selections. Service was great. Will have to try it again soon to see how they have improved since opening. Love the outdoor seating. While I wouldn't mind slightly larger portions, everything definitely hit the spot and left me wanting to come back for more. A solid addition to the neighborhood for seafood lovers!

I'm so glad I chose this spot right when I landed in New Orleans. Came here with 3 of my buddies. We started things off with two drinks the "so fresh" and "Leche you later". My friends got the bourbon and loved it ! My first time having char boiled oysters, and I fell in love 10/10. Got some crab cluster, and it was some good tasting crab. I love shrimp so I decided we wanted to share the two different kind of shrimps. We got the Gulf shrimp and the red royal shrimp. Both amazing but I like the red royal shrimp. Then I got myself their seafood pasta called De mer pasta. We got two desserts. Bread pudding and their lemon icebox cake. Their lemon icebox cake with some of the best dessert I ever had must try. All the desserts are made and baked in house ! Our server was nice and the restaurant was clean ! Would definitely come back if I come back to the big easy.

We were one of a few people that just arrived and the ambience was beautiful. Nice wooden tables and the golden pig was a cute touch to view upon entering. We sat at the bar and ordered an old fashion. They have several bourbons to choose from and their well happens to be Buffalo Trace. Not bad for a well. The ice cube had "B" engraved to add sophistication to the cocktails. For our meal, we had the catfish platter that consists of 2lb of fish, coleslaw, hush puppies and fries. There is an up charge (like most places) to substitute but why do that when everything was delicious. The service was decent and if we needed anything all of the team members behind the bar helped out. I will come back to this location again during happy hour!

We had given them a month to settle down from their opening. It was worth the wait. We arrived just before Happy Hour ended. My wife ordered a glass of wine and I had the house old fashion. We ordered our meals and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant while we waited. The food was great. My wife had the chicken sandwich she said had a great taste. I had the fried Gulf shrimp platter. They nailed it. Service was good and friendly. Definitely a hit.

What a change in atmosphere; groovy music & mumbly conversations to pure quietness and hearing everybody's voices. It was still a great experience. After about 15 minutes indoors with no a/c (IYKYK), the New Orleans heat caused us to head to the outdoor beer garden. It had rained a little bit, so it was a little cooler. FORTUNATELY, beer was still able to be poured, and the power was back on by the time the second beer was half gone. Aside from all that excitement, the focus is on the tasty beer created here. The two beers I had were great: Malcolm in the Mittlefruh and Helles Knows I'm Miserable Now (which I'm positive Morrissey would love - or would he just cry in it?). Kudos to the clever people that come up with the names! There is also a kitchen, but a belly still full from lunch, and no power meant no orders from us. Next time!

This brewery is right on Decatur with a couple of tables in front good for watching the traffic coming through. There's also a patio in the back with plenty more seating options. I sat inside where there was plenty of space. There were a good selection of beers on the menu. And the options differed from other breweries with units of Liters. I, of course, had to have an IPA and I got in as a 0.5L (closest to a pint). The flavor was good with a good hoppy taste to it. This is a great place to chill with friends and enjoy some nice beers. There's also a menu but it's only available on certain days of the week.
