To be fair, I'm not much of a brewery person, but this place is okay. Lots of outdoor seating. Menu is limited both in time and offerings but there are different pop ups that set up there. There's a frozen pina colada, and a bunch of other offerings. Service seemed ambivalent. One friend ordered food and wasn't even told they cancelled the order because of some random reason. Seems to be a popular place for book clubs and meet ups, based on the random clientele while I was there. If the weather is nice, it seems to be a nice place, but I can't imagine it being comfortable during the hot months. read more

Never mind I'm about done with the place. They advertise themselves as dog friendly but the allow the ONE dog, a golden retriever named Beau, owned by a client that's been convinced he's special, to go off leash. Then you aren't pet friendly. People are going to come in with THEIR pets, who are just as important to them as Beau is to his owner, and Beau is going to be allowed to taunt the puppy and make it bark, which then is going to get on everyone's nerves, and it'll somehow be YOUR fault. Two YEARS I've been patronizing and helping to grow this place, and it has become apparent to me that my business isn't as important as other business. Shame on the owners that have allowed this culture to take hold. 7/10 if you don't have a pet, 0/10 if you do. read more

I was given the responsibility of throwing a party for several teachers and volunteers that support them in New Orleans. I spoke with Ashley to set up this party who was a pleasure to work with. She explained everything clearly and the service was top notch. The day of the event I arrived 30-minutes ahead of time. On site I had the wonderful Erica and Josh helping me. We ended up having a wonderful turnout of teachers and volunteers. The venue itself lends itself to conversation and relaxing. I had the opportunity to taste several different beers too. Second Line has great brews, a great atmosphere, and great service. I'm always happy to work with organizations that invest in their communities. Second line is my favorite neighborhood brewery. It is also my first neighborhood brewery, but I have since been to many and none are like second line. The atmosphere feels exactly like it should. When you go you see your neighbors and their family and friends. You can feel it in the air. They have a large outdoor space that has only grown with new picnic tables so people can spread out more. As far as the beer I don't think they've ever had a swing and a miss. I like a little bit of everything so I'm always trying their new batches and it's always on point. On top of that they have a different food pop up every day of the week. They host everything from, burgers, to banh mi, to crawfish, to fried chicken. It's great to go to a place you love and have new things to try. Keeps it interesting. I haven't experienced it yet, but they just started a trivia night I'm dying to go to. Good little brewery in NOLA. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was a good amount of people drinking beer and watching the NFL playoff game in the beer garden. My friends and I were on a mini brewery tour of NOLA so I got a flight. Good selection of different types of beer. All were very good. My favorite was the Juicy IPA (Nectaron Collider). Service was very quick and the bartender was knowledgeable about the beer. Let my friends try a few samples before they ordered a pint. Our favorite neighborhood hangout spot! It's located in a large warehouse that has a ton of seating outside as well as inside. We frequently bring our dog with us and there are usually a few other pups hanging out there as well. For those with children, they often have a bounce house set up inside as well as an outdoor play area with toys. Coming from a former non-beer drinker, the beer is phenomenal (just took me coming here and doing some tasting to figure out what I like and don't like). I tend to favor the dark beers and some of my favorites are the Ka-Kow and Sweet Reverence. They have a rotation of beers they keep on tap and they always have new offerings. While they don't serve food, most days they have a food truck or pop-up restaurant onsite. Southerns is usually there on Thursdays serving their amazing fried chicken sandwiches. Overall, this is our favorite place in the neighborhood to go enjoy good weather, cold beers, and a rotation of food trucks/pop-ups. read more

We used to go here to relax and unwind. Now this place is like a Chuck E. Cheese with alcohol. 4 legged friends, ok. But infants, toddlers, young kids should not be here. It's a BAR people. One guy asked his kid which beer he should get. Seriously, are you setting these kids up to be alcoholics and participate in underage drinking? There is a bouncy house with screaming and yelling. Kids bouncing balls in the courtyard knocking over drinks. Not a good place to relax. Did I mention that they get in their cars and drive drunk with children in tow? We walk or cycle here. It's a casual hangout place in Metairie. Lots of beer options and I guess their name derived from the famous Second Line dancing. They have an awesome outdoor patio. They do not have severs or I guess they did not have service that day. I was here around 6pm and as I entered I noticed a small food truck right next to this brewery. Since this place does not have food, the truck is a great option for food. Since they do not have servers, you have to go to the bar tender and order your drinks. I really like medley beer. It's a local lager style light beer. Since I was very hungry I also ordered aioli fries from the food truck. I also heard from my friends that they have crawfish on some weekends. Great place to hangout with friends or if your alone you can use their free WiFi to browse the internet. They also have one TV where you can request for any channel you want only if most of the other customers do not care about it. read more

It is convenient to get to when you are already in Mid City and you get to check out some unique food options from places like Southern's, Remixed NOLA, etc. This brewery comes out with some unique beer options and you can try them all with 3 ounce pours if you are feeling adventurous. The staff are very friendly and is more than willing to help you out with your beer choices! Coming here during Saints games are especially fun to watch on the big screen and experience with your fellow Saints fans. I do wish there was more to offer in terms of things to do like corn hole or shuffleboard and their board/card game collection leaves a lot to be desired. They also have some great food pop ups including southern's fried chicken sandwich. Some favorite beers of mine include the saison named desire which is one of my favorite saisons ever and queen of New England which is a hazy IPA. I do wish they had more sours! Friday afternoons seem to be a good time for me to visit the local breweries. On this Friday I arrived 4:30ish. Drove past the La Cocinita food truck and found a parking space across the street from the brewery. Parking isn't a problem as they have an agreement with the place next door to use their parking lot after 5 pm. Started off my exploration with their Cease to Love, a bourbon barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout. Awesome! Couldn't have asked for a better beer to start my afternnon. Unfortunately, it was the only dark beer they had that day, so I moved on to the pale ales. The India Pale Ale was acceptable. I much prefered the Route 47 Red IPA, but it is seasonal. The beer garden area wasn't too crowded when I first arrived, but slowly people showed up. It is a dog friendly, kid friendly environment. One guy pops in to take a break from walking his dog. I think that was water that they put in the drinking bowl for the dog. Several young couple with children appear. The kids knew right where to go for their entertainment. The picnic tables and regular tables (many with umbrellas) provided plenty of seating. Being in an old converted warehouse, there was no AC, but plenty of fans circulating air. read more

I enjoyed my visit to Second Line Brewing. They are a more traditional brewery, in the sense that they are located in more of a warehouse. Although they are not right on a main road, it's a cool neighborhood. Since I was visiting New Orleans, I liked getting out of the French Quarter. Their space is fairly large, and much of the seating is outside. They only have a small bar, but I met a few guys who hang out there often. I liked that they were open on a Monday because many breweries are not. The lighter beers I tried didn't impress me as much. They tasted indistinctive. Then as I tasted others, i started to like them more. The darker beers really did it for me. read more
