One of the best bars in the uptown area and dare I say New Orleans, low key and far enough away from colleges that would prevent a large crowd from coming in. Bartenders are superb and make some of the best cocktails around.

St. Joes is BACK OPEN AGAIN! It re-opened after being closed for Covid and then closed again for quite a long time. A couple of weeks ago, it reopened from Wednesday-Sunday starting at 4pm (check Google or their Instagram for their most updated hours). So happy!! Blueberry mojitos are as refreshing as ever and they still have Guinness on draft. Love this place so much! A true neighborhood gem.

    I love this religious decor.

This bar is in my top five list. They are known for their mojitos and is probably one of the first craft cocktail bars in the city before craft cocktail bars were popular. You walk in and it is a hole in the wall, but keep going till you reach the back patio. The ambience is great and filled with religious decor everywhere. It is fitting for a New Orleans bar. The service here is always great. They do not have food, but you are on Magazine Street, come here for a fresh mojito or two after dinner.

Sooo... I've been wanting to try the mojito here for sometime now. I'm always reading about how good they are. Well. I finally go here today and order the "famous blueberry mojito" and it was disappointing! It literally tasted like a soda with a hint of blueberry. I've made better. I won't returning.

Came here for the Mojito, stayed for the religiosity. If you like Mojitos . . . and floating crosses, cherubs and depictions of the Christ Child, then this pace is for you! To be fair, there are also some asian influenced religious artifacts outside in the patio - and what a Great patio it is! This is another very cool place to hang out with friends in the afternoon and enjoy some conversation and a cocktail. Dark and quiet inside at the bar and light and airy outside in the patio. Something for everyone. Service is fast and friendly. A nice stop during any visit to NOLA.

SMOKE-FREE: On a quest to cool off after shopping Magazine Street, we were in search of a smoke-free bar and found St. Joe's. Thank you fellow yelpers! BLUEBERRY MOJITO: Even if you aren't a mojito fan, this signature drink deserves a try. It is by far the best mojito I've ever had with a crisp and refreshing taste. I watched the bartender use a muddler to crush the mint leaves and blueberries together so that they marinated in harmony. It was amazing how meticulous the bartender was - he seems to have a talent that many mixologists are lacking these days. Another couple at the bar saw our amazing drinks and decided they wanted blueberry mojitos too! FRESH: After speaking with the bartender, I learned that they use fresh juices for their drinks. This can transform a drink from average to superior. It's the extra steps that St. Joe's takes that makes them stand out. PATIO: The back patio is a nice place to chill out and is a good escape when the bar gets crowded. The decor on the patio is funky and eclectic with Chinese lanterns hanging above a church-like setting. I guess I can always go to confession after I sin with too many blueberry mojitos!

I don't get why this is classified as a dive bar; it's not super classy, but it's definitely not dive-y either. It's in between, a regular bar. The blueberry mojitos are good, no questions asked. I love the church decor but I'm not a religious person so they don't offend me. The bartenders are okay, it can be a PITA to get their attention sometimes. I prefer this place earlier rather than later and during the week because the crowd can become a bit hipster-y. I do like this place but I just wanna sit down, have a drink, and chat. When this place is crowded that can be difficult. So, great blueberry mojitos, great decor, NON-SMOKING (LOVE IT!!!), so-so service, hipster-y crowds later at night and on weekends. I'll definitely be going back here but I won't say a lot of that has to do with the fact that I live within walking distance. They do have 1 TV so it's a good place to watch Saints games if you want more low-key and non-smoking.

    Terrible service

Absolutely terrible Serivce, the bar tender didn't want to serve us and was more concerned about playing pool with his friends, Avoid at all cost, management please inquire immediately. They locked the door to prevent "certain people" from entering

Quiet, cozy bar with great drinks.

I have probably been a dozen or more times, and they are always changing things up. New IPA's, Pilsners, stouts, and sours about every time I go. This last time I went they had a habanero-pickle sour, but I was too big of a chicken to try it. Their Soft Focus DIPA was phenomenal, however. The inside is small, but the courtyard is a really cool place to sit even on a July afternoon as it is shaded with plants and umbrellas. They have different food vendors all the time and crawfish every spring. On our last visit, we had a really good Detroit style pizza. I will keep going because they are always trying to brew new beers and because it's my girlfriend's favorite brewery in Nola. If they still have the habanero pickle sour, I may even try it.

We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated almost immediately. As we passed the bar I noticed they had a huge bourbon selection which is always cool. I ordered a "Well She Starts Monday" which is a cocktail made with Buffalo Trace, Cynar liqueur, and Fig Syrup. I was not a fan of this one, so I ordered an Old Fashioned for my second drink, and it was a little better. I got a Burrata for an appetizer which seemed like a caprese salad served with crispy bread triangles. This was really good. For an entree, I got Beef Wellington which until then I had never had. Mansplained, this is a steak cooked medium rare inside of a puff pastry with 2 different sauces on it. Phenomenally good! The atmosphere is really dark with low lighting, dark cherry wood everywhere. The music was bad and loud. If it was one or the other it would have been fine, but this was like if someone gave Yoko Ono glowsticks and said start and EDM band. The Husky is meant for a younger crowd. The food was 5 stars; the atmosphere and experience were probably more like 3 stars.
