Once the closest bar to my home, I now live on the opposite end of town, yet I'm compelled to make a stop here whenever we're having an Uptown night. Especially on a Friday late afternoon/early evening because the bartender is a really cool lady and I've seen her masterfully handle a HH crowd. We were also in a slow summer evening it was fun chatting with her. They have a perfectly cold and bubbly Prosecco, which is really all I need but should I ever been in the mood for a blueberry mojito, they are legendary here. I also appreciate the back bar area although the last couple times it was a zillion degrees and sitting in an open air courtyard wasn't happening for us. It's incredibly nice out there when the weather is less brutal. In the meantime, I'm perfectly happy inside where it's a perpetual Sunday mass. I got the surf and turf poboy, fully dressed, with gravy and all the fixings. And fries. Had a nice local ale on tap in a frosty mug at the counter while I waited. Po-boy was excellent; fries were surprisingly good. Only thing is that the po-boy needed, for my spicy palette, the kick it got from the hot sauce I drizzled on top with most bites. It was flavorful and filled, and bread was nice and crusty and help up well in the car. This spot is definitely a gem for a reason.

I have probably been a dozen or more times, and they are always changing things up. New IPA's, Pilsners, stouts, and sours about every time I go. This last time I went they had a habanero-pickle sour, but I was too big of a chicken to try it. Their Soft Focus DIPA was phenomenal, however. The inside is small, but the courtyard is a really cool place to sit even on a July afternoon as it is shaded with plants and umbrellas. They have different food vendors all the time and crawfish every spring. On our last visit, we had a really good Detroit style pizza. I will keep going because they are always trying to brew new beers and because it's my girlfriend's favorite brewery in Nola. If they still have the habanero pickle sour, I may even try it.

It's simple, fresh, and perfectly done. I also tried a flight of beers and loved every single one. Primo Morso and 'Nacular Misbelief really stood out and were both incredibly flavorful in their own ways. The bartender made the experience even better. He was funny, interesting to talk to, and clearly knew his stuff when it came to beer. His enthusiasm and knowledge added so much to the overall vibe. Great food, excellent beer, and genuinely great service. I'll absolutely be back.
