The Husky is easily one of my absolute favorite go-to spots in the city for amazing food and cocktails! The interior has an incredible, upscale "Gatsby mountain lodge" atmosphere with gorgeous dark wood, low lighting, and a stunning marble bar that completely sets the mood. It is a total vibe. You absolutely cannot beat their daily happy hour special. For $20, you get a massive, mouth-watering burger served with a classic pickle pinned on top, a side of hot french fries, and an Old Fashioned. It is a steal! I actually gave my Old Fashioned to a friend this time so I could try their Espresso Martini instead, and it did not disappoint--perfectly frothed and delicious. The burger itself is incredibly juicy and always hits the spot.The food and drinks are top-tier, the ambiance is immaculate, and the service is always fantastic. Also, do yourself a favor and check out the bathroom while you are there--the design is amazing and it's a whole experience in itself! I've been hearing a lot about this place so when I had some free time this weekend I decided to give it try. I was by myself so I sat at the bar, was immediately greeted by bar staff and given a glass of water and a menu. I decided to try the Lilac lover which is a gin-based drink. It was so good I eventually ordered a second one. I wasn't really hungry, was there just for vibes and a nice drink before I started my Saturday evening but I did decide to try their lamb lollipops appetizer. They were tasty but I wish they weren't breaded. This place has a great vibe for a girl's night, date, or group get togethers. Very pretty ambiance and great service. The Husky is the Regina George's mom of steakhouses, it's not like a regular steakhouse, it's a cool steakhouse. Probably too cool for my 50-year-old ass. We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated almost immediately. As we passed the bar I noticed they had a huge bourbon selection which is always cool. I ordered a "Well She Starts Monday" which is a cocktail made with Buffalo Trace, Cynar liqueur, and Fig Syrup. I was not a fan of this one, so I ordered an Old Fashioned for my second drink, and it was a little better. I got a Burrata for an appetizer which seemed like a caprese salad served with crispy bread triangles. This was really good. For an entree, I got Beef Wellington which until then I had never had. Mansplained, this is a steak cooked medium rare inside of a puff pastry with 2 different sauces on it. Phenomenally good! The atmosphere is really dark with low lighting, dark cherry wood everywhere. The music was bad and loud. If it was one or the other it would have been fine, but this was like if someone gave Yoko Ono glowsticks and said start and EDM band. Wow! We've been wanting to try The Husky for a while and finally made it there. The restaurant and bar area are absolutely gorgeous! We were quickly seated for our reservation. I had a cocktail that had fig in it that was very balanced and wasn't overly sweet. We decided to start off with crispy oyster mushrooms and their special mozzarella sticks. The oyster mushrooms were out of this world! I could have eaten a plate of those. The mozzarella sticks were really good as well. They're topped with caviar and some gold. For my main course I got the beef Wellington and it was very large and could have easily been split between 2 people. The lamb lollipop chops had a great crust, paired with a feta salad (cucumber, onion, feta) was super light and refreshing. Had a great time at The Husky! This one has been on my list since January! Top to bottom, inside and out they nailed it. Clean, tiled entrance into an ambient waiting area where the white tile behind the bar beams light onto all of the accents of brass and warm wood throughout. Pops of green foliage soften the hard edges of an art deco decor. 4 of us nestled into a cozy booth where people watching was within reach, but reading light-not so much. Candles on tables, maybe? Gabriel our server did a good job and think he'll open up more, the more comfortable he gets. We went ape on the food-captions in my food pics attached. Steak tartare, bone marrow, lamb lollipops, rigatoni, grilled romaine, cheese and caviar-followed by wellingtons and short ribs. Never trust women that don't eat. We are definitely not those women! For appetizers, we ordered the Crispy Oysters and Roasted Bone Marrow. The Crispy Oysters were really good, I would definitely get it again. This was my first time trying Roasted Bone Marrow so I wasnt sure what to expect but it was okay, not a perferred dish for me but still really good. I ordered the Rigatoni A La Vodka and it was really yummy. Theres these crunchy bits they add on top that adds to the texture of the pasta and the pasta was perfectly cooked. There is a bathroom that has mirrors from the floor to the ceiling and its definitely a good photo op! The service was honestly amazing, did not hesitate to give recommendations when asked or assist us with anything. The Husky was a wonderful surprise! I didn't even know about this restaurant until I discovered it on Yelp when I was looking for a new place to try in the Freret area. The reviews were pretty good and The Husky did not disappoint. Outside is super simple and if you didn't know you could easily walk right by and not realize that it was a restaurant. Once you step in though it's a completely different world with an ambiance and setting of a different era. Everything looked so cool, even the bathroom was worth taking a picture of! I came for happy hour so sat at the bar to get a burger and Old Fashioned special for $20. The happy hour was clearly very popular because the entire bar was filled by the time I left. The burger was good, not my favorite in the city, but satisfying. The fries and aioli were my favorite. And the Old Fashioned was made perfectly for my taste. And the price was pretty good! The dining pluses: My burger was delicious. The burrata appetizer is a must do. Our server was attentive and friendly. The minuses: My daughter's steak was very salty. Our Mac and cheese came out after we had finished eating so we requested that it be boxed up to go. The lady who delivered it to our table seemed moderately upset that we needed it boxed up. They give a complimentary champagne for birthdays. Everything on the menu looked great. We ordered the Burrata appetizer, French onion soup, beef wellington and lamb lollipops. I thought I had previously reviewed them and added a ton of photos which I have now deleted but we recently went back so I'll add the new ones I have. I do recommend a reservation because they get busy. My preference is to go during Happy Hour when you can get their well Martini for $9. You can also get a burger, fries and Old Fashioned for $20, but this time I went with the small steak called the wennie and some of the most delicious Mac and cheese I've ever eaten, so creamy and cheesy with a little crunch of top. I have not see a dress code but I consider the place to be on the business casual side. Last time I did wear jeans but with a dressy top. Service is spot on too! read more

The walk up it very cute yet old timey. Definitely a great gatsby feel. Interior is intimate with low lighting but somehow still very lively. Service was friendly with great recommendations as we were between a few things in the menu. For drinks we had a passion fruit lemon drop (delicious) and a glass of Pinot. Appetizers came next with our choice of the crispy oysters which were amazing my only wish is that it should have had a touch of spice. Oh my gosh, I need to hire the interior designer here! I adore the decor!! That is the title of this review, fyi. This place does give off that rustic, early 1900's mountain lodgey feel. So, onto our dinner. We ordered steak tartare for an app. The steak and the egg had amazing flavor. There was a sauce underneath that almost ruined the dish though. I didn't care for it at all, in fact none of us did. I think that dish would be perfect without the sauce. I loved that it was served with won tons too. Just needed a bit more hehe I ordered the beef wellington which I loved. People are always asking for beef wellington and no one has it. I guess Chef Ramsey put it on the map and now everyone wants to try it but I know its a tricky dish to cook and perfect so not many places will do. What I love about The Husky is the consistency. They were really sweet to accommodate two more guests for a birthday dinner. Not going to lie, I was feeling it after receiving our drinks haha. My visits have yet to disappoint. The drinks are always amazing and the speakeasy vibe is my favorite part of this restaurant/bar. Rigatoni a la pasta was my favorite dish of the night and my favorite appetizer was the oyster mushrooms! I have tried the bone marrow before and I will say it is delicious but can be very rich for some people. I've been wanting to try The Husky after seeing friends post about it on instagram! Plus, love a new food spot. First, they do have a happy hour, which includes $9 select cocktails, and house wines. I thought the old-fashion was very good, esp for $9! Also they have a $20 deal for a burger & old fashion. However, we had the a la vodka rigatoni pasta, which was excellent. I would honestly recommend this dish and get it again in the future because the flavor of the sauce was really outstanding. We also had a side of asparagus and creamed spinach. They were both good as well. We were served the sautéed spinach first on accident and I did have one bite and I would honestly give those just as high of a rating to be honest. Lastly, we ended with the Key lime pie, which is more of a tart with meringue. I thought the meringue was made very good... tasty!! It wasn't my favorite dessert, but I would still say that it was good. Overall, I think it was a fair price point for what we got. Our waitress was also very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was lively and they seemed to have things pretty organized even as people waited for their table or a spot at the bar. One of the daily specials was the venison on a bed of potatoes skins, with fried jalapenos and tomatoes. I really liked this meal but if you want something more hefty I'd suggest substituting the potato skins for a different side. Now back to the ambience. This is a very photo worthy restaurant.
