This restaurant exceeded my expectations. It was so good. I ordered the chicken, which comes on a bed of mashed potatoes with this incredible sauce. I honestly don't even know what the sauce is, but it's so good. The broccolini was great, and the chicken was perfectly crispy. The ambiance was amazing and very different from a regular restaurant. The tables are a little small, but that's because it has a cozy vibe, dim lighting, couches for seating, and low tables. All the tables and chairs are different, which makes it feel really unique. There's also a bar inside, and the whole place just has a very cool, laid-back vibe. Customer service was amazing. I also tried the deviled eggs and highly recommend them. Everything was just delicious. Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've been to in New Orleans. read more

Tried the Bread Service with Chili Butter and Fig Compote, Pesto Orecchiette, and Steak Frites. The fig compote and chili butter went so well together, salty, sweet and spicy. The Pesto sauce was well seasoned and uniquely delicious. However, I did not like the chicken in the pasta, it had a taste almost like the chicken in chicken noodle soup. The steak was very well seasoned but the fries were nothing special. The espresso martini comes as a double and is extremely good strong, we shared it. Such a vibey spot!! Came on a Thursday for happy hour (they do it every day from 4-6) but on thursdays they also have live music!! How many things can we cram into a weekend? Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day, All Star Weekend, Presidents' Day, ‍. I tried to keep up with all of it which is why I chose Sunday for a Valentine's moment for the hubbins and I. I went through my lists of places to checkout and Jolie kept from the page. Cozy, distinct, intimate, with a vibe firmly set on the romantic axis. I hadn't noticed that Jolie was directly on a parade route and began to fret when my Uber driver said she would get us as close as possible (1.5 mile walk). I called to let the venue know we would be 10 minutes late for our reservation. I left a message. When we arrived 3:15 the hostess must have seen the slight distress on my face as I began to explain my miscalculation. She smiled gently, saw my reservation in the system and said follow me. I breathed a sigh of relief as I began to take in the atmosphere. It feels like velvet with rich deep colors adorning the walls and furniture. We were sat by a large window facing the street that revelers were setting up for the parade. The window let in enough light to see the menus and eat without disturbing other areas. The bartender and our attendant were great offering suggestions based on our preferences. They did not miss. The food was yummy and I had more drinks than usual. We had a series of appetizers including the deviled eggs which were divine, duck poutine, and parm fries. This is a great spot for an intimate first date or solid relationship. Located on Julia it makes for a great date, visit before exploring the galleries on Julia. It's also good for an outing with friends offering chill vibes and decor. Jolie is definitely a place to go and enjoy. read more

Went for drag/burlesque brunch. The show and performances were a 10/10. Awesome! The decor Jolie is beautiful such a pretty, glamorous space. Our server was not attentive. She took our order and we never saw her again. She didn't even come to check in after our food arrived and therefore couldn't be told our order was wrong. After flagging someone down the mix up was taken care of. The other supporting staff including the manager were great. I get a limited brunch menu but for the price point the options and quality of brunch prices could be better. Enjoyed the creative brunch cocktails. First, the ambiance is very mellow, chic and chill. It is a bit dark but it sets the mood. Perfect for a girls night out or date night. The bartender asked if he could make me another drink and asked what I liked. I can't recall what he said he made but it was so good. A citrusy, not too sweet cocktail with a sugared rim. It was perfect! We ordered the escargot, foie gras, potato croquettes and gnocchi. I had never had escargot and was nervous to try but did anyways. It was pretty good, not going to lie. The sauce was so lovely. I found the foie gras too rich but it wasn't bad. The gnocchi and croquettes were delicious. I would definitely stop in again if I ever make it back to New Orleans! We came in looking forward to a great dinner, but right off the bat, they had no oysters available after we already put in our order. Things only went downhill from there. We were told the fish of the evening was yellowtail bass, but when the dish arrived, it was clearly tuna. When we raised legitimate concerns about being served entirely the wrong fish, Briene(sp?), who was assisting with service, became outright rude and incredibly unprofessional. To make matters worse, she openly showed disrespect to her own coworkers, at one point referring to a colleague as a "little girl" right in front of us. She was just terrible. The saving grace of the entire evening was our actual server, Olivia. She was absolutely wonderful, completely professional, and did a great job managing our table as well as trying to rectify the issues with the order and make alternative suggestions for meal options. Unfortunately, despite Olivia's best efforts, the lack of basic seafood staples, being misled about the fish of the day, and mostly Briene's toxic behavior ruined the night. Management seriously needs to address Briene's conduct and how she treats both customers and her team. read more

My most recent visit to Jolie was a step up from the first! This is definitely the place to be for good drinks and classy vibes on a Saturday night. I was there with a group of 5 and seven though we walked in at a crowded time, the host was so gracious to let us hang at the bar for about 15 minutes before our table was ready. Nothing really stood out. But all the sides and the mains came out room temp or cold. Steaks all seemed over done. Potatoes were literally colder than room temp. I know all too well how difficult it is to cater to large groups, but this is why you have a limited menu. It a conference town, it's a a chance to showcase your restaurant to a wide audience, and a lot rides on getting it right. Jonni the bartender let me know that she is a Margarita maker expert and let me just say she was not lying. I got a simple Margarita that was not in the menu and she handcrafted that bad boy as if it was. It has simple ingredients but yet it packs such a powerful punch. When we were ready to order, the server disappeared for quite a while. Once we finally ordered, we didn't see our waiter again until after the food, water, and wine was gone and a bus boy stopped by to ask why my friend hadn't eaten the gnocchi and if he could box anything up. It wasn't busy, and I saw our waiter at other tables. I'm honestly not sure what happened. The gnocchi was creamy, but not super flavorful. The oyster mushroom steak was pretty good.
