This place was so awesome, we came twice during my birthday trip to NOLA! I love the red decor even the ceilings are red. If you enter through the hotel lobby, you can go through the bookcase. Drinks are delicious. The bartenders and servers are great.

Intimate, romantic, and upscale. Perfect for date night, with great drinks and a beautiful ambiance. We love Salon Salon and the service is wonderful as well.

You'd never find it with the naked eye but Salon Salon is tucked deep into the back of an alleyway off Carondelet Street. The entrance is nice with an overhead and plants lining the walk down into the lounge. Once you're in you're greeted by a hostess, who was actually a bit snarky and rude when seating us for our reservation (also said by another guest we spoke to). The actual space itself is moody, dimly lit with red accents throughout. It has a polished feel and the environment is incredibly intimate. Our waitress was very nice and made ordering with a party of 10 seamless. For our order we got a banana Negroni and a glass of white wine. The wine was great, crisp and sweet. The Negroni was strong and bold with the banana peeking through the drink with flavor. They also offer a few bites off their menu but we opted not to grab one there. The whole experience was fun and everyone liked their drinks. It's a great place to relax and get some drinks but the experience with the hostess was a bit off-putting. A great option if you're looking for a quiet, more refined cocktail lounge to enjoy a drink in NOLA.

I was staying close by to Salon Salon and was looking for a cocktail bar. Glad I came by! You can make reservations or walk in. It's a lovely cocktail bar with really nice lighting and decor. Impressive cocktail menu. Sat at the bar and ordered a glass of sparkling wine and my partner ordered a cocktail. It was a bit busy so it was a chaotic time to sit at the bar but still enjoyed my time there. Prices are a little high but worth it for the nice ambiance.

A French-inflected library bar in the CBD, it's the kind of place you might stroll past without realizing a hidden gem is sitting right in plain sight. The ambiance was absolutely stunning. We arrived at night, and even in the dim lighting, the charm of the space--from the books lining the walls to the velvet chairs and lush animal-print accents--created the perfect Saturday night vibe. It was also quieter than a typical bar, which made it feel refined and intimate; you can actually enjoy a real conversation while soaking in the beauty of the space. The drink menu is short but tasteful, with a wide range of profiles. With an exceptionally skilled bartender (sad I did not catch his name), every cocktail was perfectly balanced and beautifully executed. He was also happy to craft off-menu drinks by request. The host was also warm, funny, and attentive. We didn't get to try the food this time, but we're already looking forward to it on our next visit!

Came in after dinner with a large group to celebrate my 42nd birthday on the night of 10/30 with a 10pm reservation. Overall, my party had a great time. The atmosphere was lively, the drinks were great, and the music set the perfect vibe. We reserved a large section for 13 people Our main server, a gentleman, was very friendly and attentive. However, we did have an unpleasant interaction with a second server, a woman who was quite rude when we were taking photos and videos. Instead of politely asking us to turn off the flash, she shouted across the area, which was unnecessary. Later, when bringing drinks, she accused us of recording her, even though the focus was clearly on the drinks. She could've easily ruined the night, but I chose to overlook it and continue celebrating. I'd definitely come back because we had a great time overall but I'd just prefer not to have her as our server again.

What a cute speakeasy! We walked by and were able to find it easily from the outside, but the secret is to go through the hotel and get in through the bookcase. The vibes are super sexy & sleek inside. We got seated quickly and ordered a round of cocktails. My martini was perfect. Our waiter gave us some great reccs.

New Orleans wasn't shy about drinking during the prohibition of alcohol, so speakeasys aren't common here. But this place is a solid one - push the shelf to enter and enjoy the dark lit bar and lounge area with a velvety theme walls and curtains. Go into the bathroom for some French jokes. The staff was friendly enough to take my drink back and redo it to how I liked it - thank you! The pink demon was my favorite, I will for sure come back for this drink. The unexpected had a strong citrus-like bitterness so I sent it back and had a version with whiskey sour, which worked out so well. Come here for a nice dim-lit evening escapeed when even if you're with a friend, it somehow feels like a date.

Ambiance was nice. Food was mediocre. Everything was a bit overpriced. Service was very slow & inattentive. Hostess was unwelcoming. Location was hard to find. Wasn't a fan or the food or experience.

Mascarade and old fashion

My husband and I enjoyed a perfect night out for our anniversary at this intimate speakeasy in New Orleans. From the moment you enter the venue you are inspired by the quiet seclusion, darker decor, library themed space with dimly lit candles, wall sconces, plush textured furniture in velvets, satins and leather chairs, sofas and chaise lounges with two, four and six top tables available for couple or group seating. Such a cool and perfect space for an intimate night out. The menu of food and cocktails is designed to please and we enjoyed the beef tartare, burrata, old fashioned, and mascarade. The food and drinks were both deliciously prepared and presentation was spot on. You can enter through the alley lights or through the hotel lobby bookshelf entrance. No matter how you arrive, you will be sad to leave, especially if Kendyl is your server for the evening. She took such great care attending to us. Timing was perfectly planned. Live music is available certain nights and the background music is played at the perfect volume for conversations to quietly flow. Fantastic experience, terrific ambience, great service and we will certainly return!

If you're coming here, make sure it's for vibes. The aesthetic is incredible, but the service is a bit lacking. My partner found the Old Fashion to be a bit lacking in the punch he's used to. Our favorite drink was actually the nonalcoholic option, The Girl in the Corner. It had a great poppy flavor without being too sweet.

One of those hidden-in-plain-sight spots that feels like stepping into a more refined version of New Orleans nightlife. It's the perfect place to catch a trendy cocktail -- think craft ingredients, elegant glassware, and bartenders who actually care -- all while soaking in the sounds of live jazz. Whether you're starting your evening or looking for a nightcap, the vibe is chill, upscale, and just a little bit glam. The kind of place where locals bring out-of-towners to impress them without the chaos of Bourbon Street. If you're looking to sip, sway, and unwind, Salon Salon delivers.

This is a dark, comfy, richly appointed speakeasy with delicious espresso martinis and other cocktails! The couches devour you in soft luxury and the service is very good. We had a nice time here.

I think this was the pink demon. It was good but wouldn't order again. A little too sweet.

I'm not sure about parking as I walked to the brewery on my recent visit. This brewery has a great feel that hearkens back to a cozy neighborhood pub - eclectic seating divided between a couple of rooms with a small bar and a simple setup including around 9-10 taps. I felt right at home. Flights included four 5 ounce pours for $19. Food is mostly supplied by Shift Kitchen but you're basically invited to bring in anything you want. I tried the following: * 90s Women's Power Ballads - IPA - New England / Hazy 6.6% ABV - Pretty decent hazy NEIPA, Guiyang body with notes of citrus, finishes hoppy and a touch floral. 4/5 * Tenant - Bitter/Best 4.1% ABV - Very nice sweet malty bitter, notes of toasted bread, slightly toasted peanut, finishes appropriately dry and somewhat mildly bitter. 4/5 * Mr. Words Is A Monster - Pilsner/Other 5.5% - Interesting XPA, crisp body, hint of orange peel finishing hoppy, hint of pine and black pepper. 4/5 * I Am A Donut - Sour - Berliner Weisse 4.2% - Light bodied sour, fruity body with notes of sweet mango. 4/5 * Notice Me Senpai - Porter - Imperial / Double 8.1% - Tasty porter with notes of dark chocolate, English toffee and roasty coffee, almost creamy body finishing dry. 4/5 In general all the beer I indulged in were good, I think this is probably the best brewery I tried in my recent trip to New Orleans. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable, able to answer all my questions. I could tell this was a local spot - I engage in conversation with a few of the patrons and they mostly lived nearby. This is a top-notch hangout with a great local vibe.

This building predates the United States, some saying it being built in the early 1770s. Some say it's the oldest bar in America but that's more legend than based on historical fact. This bar probably has the coolest story on the ghost tours as Jean Lafitte was a true character in New Orleans lore dating back to the 1700s. As far as what it's like today, you walk in and it's dark and eerie and is mostly illuminated by candlelight. This is a full service bar with both a pretty good sized bar area and also a section with tabletops and tables for patrons to enjoy along with countertops outside the bar for those who want to enjoy their drinks outside. Also in the back of this bar is a piano area where a piano player plays live music for the patrons multiple times a week in the evenings. As far as drinks go this place is definitely a tourist attraction and the drink prices do reflect that. They are famous for their "purple drink" and their "hurricanes". I ended up just having another local beer and I was just about tapped out on drinks by the end of this ghost tour.
