Came here with a group on a Friday night. The Dj had the 90s early 2000 R&B music going and it really set the stage for a nice, relaxed environment. The bar setup is nice too, being right in the center of everything. We sat at the bar but there are some tables around the perimeter of the place, plus additional seating in the rear of the building. The drink menu offered some nice selections. I ordered the Miss Vanjie cocktail and it's so refreshing! It tastes hearbal and fruity, and you'd think you're drinking one of those healthy green juice shots, but that's exactly how it sneaks up on you! Night Bloom is so cute and comfy. This was my first time here so I would need to return to make sure. They had a DJ that night, he was awesome and able to keep the crowd going. As I understand it this place was started by owners of Bacchanal Wine Bar they source a lot of their products from women and BIPOC owned businesses. Got a chance to get out and come here for the first time for a friend's birthday party and a lot of my friends came out so it was a good time!! First thing I noticed here is how well thought out the mood lighting and vibe is here. The bar lights are really a standout here and it's dark and just gives a sexy vibe. Neon and blue lights along with the DJ they have here just puts you in the right mood! This is strictly a specialty cocktail bar with signature drinks - you can order basic drinks but they focus on what's on their menu. Service was good it got busy as the hours passed and the bartenders were keeping up with the crowd. I got the $15 Miss Vanjie which is a tequila specialty cocktail that has cilantro, jalapeños and mint along with Lime and Pineapple juice. I ended up with two of those. They were tasty!!! The dim lighting and deep jeweled-colored decor make for that speakeasy type feel that's paired with the perfect cocktail. And speaking of, s/o to Kathy for her artistry with the mixer! How could I not like a bar named Night Bloom? I knew this place prides itself on being a late night spot and in the lower St. Claude area, it is part of a renaissance in the neighborhood, so kudos to that! Night Blooms has atmosphere in droves with its sultry dark interior, plants creating coziness and a large circular bar in the middle. I would have happily sat at the bar, which I don't always do, but we grabbed a highboy by a window. I loved the music, a lot of it 80s dance hits on the night we were there. The second room is even darker-- love this because it feels like you're in some secret club. Can't wait to go back and sit in this area. It's owned by some of the Bacchanal folks, so the wine list is highly curated and I loved my icy cold glass of sparkling. This isn't a beer drinkers paradise (I don't care but if someone in your party is sticking to beer, they have a limited selection). They also make a fine Aperol Spritz. We were in town for a conference and wanted to patronize a nice place with good music (to avoid the "grittiness" of Bourbon Street). Instead, we received gritty attitudes from a few of the bartenders (perhaps they were ready to close early for the night). If you don't want to take business on after midnight, don't indicate your hours are till 2am. I've managed, Dj'd, and bounced at several clubs and lounges (NYC, DC, SF, Montreal) over the years and have never experienced this level of poor service. Think twice before you patronize or spend money at this place. We brought nothing short of 25-30 well paying people to your venue and we got treated like the plague. read more

I visited this bar twice. The first time my bartender was fine. I decided to bring my family here to celebrate a birthday about two weeks later. My second experience was drastically different from the first. The bartender was a white male wearing a biker hat. The bar was getting pretty crowded and he was the only bartender serving. Despite being the only bartender waiting to serve many people, he took care to have a full conversation with one particular guest while everyone waited. When he finally attended to me, I politely ordered a drink off menu and an espresso martini which was off menu . He RUDELY said, "do you see an espresso machine here?, I CAN NOT MAKE THAT" He continued to berate me in front of basically the entire bar. He went on and on about how silly it was to ask for an espresso martini . He listed everything required to make the drink, and condescendingly asked if I saw any of it there. As if I was responsible for the bar's inventory! It was like he was utterly disgusted that I would order that, and he seemed to want to get a laugh from the lady he was focused on talking to before taking my order. I was so embarrassed even though I had done nothing wrong! God forbid I order a cocktail at a cocktail bar!! His nastiness was so outright that another person waiting at the bar when I tried to order came up to me after and acknowledged how rude the bartender had been. Espresso martinis are a popular drink and a pretty common thing to order at a cocktail bar. If he wasn't equipped to make it, he could have communicated that in a much better manner. My politeness was met with utter rudeness. The bar is allegedly black owned in an area of New Orleans that was once predominantly black, yet no one in the bar was black, but everyone in the bar received MUCH better service than I did. I don't believe this bar is black owned, there is no way based on the workers, the vibe, and the crowd. My entire family left and visited Minted lounge about a ten minute walk from here. Espresso martinis were not on the menu there, but they HAPPILY made the cocktail with no issue. Minted is truly a black owned New Orleans bar that respects and values their people. I would direct anyone reading this visit to Minted instead. read more
