Had Blood Viking Wedding Gifts Cocktails were fine/ average. But the environment was amazing! Definitely a place to try when visiting Nola.

Super fun speak easy only open a few nights a week! The bartenders were great and the drinks too notch. Each room has a totally different vibe. We missed the live music both times we were there but I imagine it's great!

I have been hearing of this place for 2 years . A coworker said ,you know there is an underground bar in New Orleans and I was thinking no way the way it floods here. Lol. Who would think it's under the Orpheum. I Finally made it here and fell in love from the speakeasy vibes, the vintage burlesque outfits surrounding the space. It felt like a very intimate setting. The bar was nice and bartender was friendly . I had a delicious mojito. We were there right at 7 so no other guest had arrived. We met some friends later and they enjoyed their drinks as well. We left before the live band came but we had a great time . Will definitely be back!

Ok wow! We randomly found out about this place by the bartender across the street. It wasn't so much a speak easy as a bar unless you know. But now you know and you need to go! The best cocktails you will have here. Very chill. Very atmospheric and very what you need.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this tucked away gem. When you walk down the stairs, you take an unspoken oath to journey a new world. I felt like an artifact of history when I arrived. This is the spot you go to when you don't want to go home after dinner. There is a space for everyone here. Whether you are alone, on a date, or with friends. They have a dedicated seating area for everyone to enjoy! Make sure you walk around and explore. Behind the bar, there are intimate, two person booth seating and you order your beverage through a small window. Privacy guaranteed. Needless to say, I adored this place!!

Excellent ambiance in a hidden speakeasy format under the Orpheum Theatre, across the street from the historic Roosevelt Hotel. We stopped in right at dusk on an August Friday evening for a drink before dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our craft cocktails in the dramatic surrounds. We sat at the bar to watch the bartenders do their work, but there were also several other types of seating available including private booths with heavy velvet curtains. A stage in the front offered many 2-and 4-top cocktail tables with waiter service, too. Our bartender wasn't exactly friendly, but he made a fine drink. I'd definitely come back if staying within walking distance during the Thu-Sat evenings when it's open.

I randomly saw a sign with the Double Dealer logo as we walked out of the Roosevelt hotel, and decided to duck in. The bar in under the Orpheum theatre, and we ended up having such a good time we came back the next night! The bar had live music and both nights were female singers, and both singers were incredible. The bar is nice and has plenty of seating, both in the area with the performers and in the bar area. They have vintage burlesque outfits hanging around the space and as a costume designer, I loved seeing them. You order at the bar, and we ended up just sitting up there, and the service was quick and great. They have a classic cocktail menu and some housemade cocktails, and we had some of both. The cocktails were delicious and very decently priced, with 3 drinks being less than $50 before tip. I'd definitely suggest anyone who appreciates a good cocktail or theatre history visit here.

Wow!! So when I found out that we have a speakeasy in New Orleans I HAD to go and I'm so glad I did. We walked up to a really inconspicuous entry door. There was a guy at a booth guarding the entry. He asked if we had reservations I said yes and gave the name. He checked the list and opened the velvet rope. He told us to walk downstairs and he would meet us. We walked down these stairs that looked like a really sketchy basement and followed him. When we got inside the bar I was amazed. It was really nice. He directed us to a private seating area where we had a 2 person booth. On one side was a wall that had a window you could open to receive drink service. The bartenders can't see inside but you can see outside. There's also heavy dark curtains you can close to make your booth completely private. To order a drink you press a button and a waiter promptly arrives to take your order. I ordered the side car. And it was really well made. I really liked it. For my 2nd drink I ordered a drink called LOOKING AT THE MOON AND THINKING OF ONE FAR AWAY it had Pomegranate syrup, sparkling wine, lemon juice, Chambord. That was also really good. There was also a burlesque dancer that went around entertaining all of the patrons. That was a pretty cool touch to the whole experience. Overall the service was great, the Cocktails were great, and the experience was one of a kind. I almost didn't want to review this place because I want to keep it all to myself. Lol

Great spot! Located under the Orpheum Theater. Make a reservation on their website ahead of time. A variety of seating is available. Our favorite was the snug booth. There is a curtain you can close for privacy. Whenever you want a drink, hit the button. A light goes on and your server comes. Pretty fun idea. Service was great. Our waitress was very friendly. Bartenders were not that friendly. So we don't sit at the bar. Bad vibes coming from that direction. Drinks were good. Overall great experience.

Unfortunately hubs and I have become cocktail snobs... while there are. Lot of places in Nola to get lit ... we were looking for a place where we could really savor our experiences. Double dealer fit the f$&@"in bill! This speakeasy is so legit. Great live music, amazing ambience and ridiculously reasonable and complex craft cocktails. So glad to find this hidden Nola gem.

A (literally) hidden gem in a city of really cool bars, which says a lot! You'll feel like an old-timey movie star descending the stairs and walking into the ice pit. The old Hollywood, regal decor is a conversation piece in and of itself. The band was great and added perfectly to the ambiance: not too loud to hear and carry conversations. And, the drinks are great!

To begin with , its very tricky to find, as you have to ask someone in black outside a bar the instructions, instructed to you, its def fun if/when you're tipsy.. There also is a very persistant tarot reader which puts off the entire mood, especially when you're continously asked to have your tarot read... i must give it to the drinks, I tried 2 and they were amazing, the Love Potion comes with a souvinier glass mini bottle, to take home and the bottles def are amazing. The couches are very mystic and the decorations have an vampy aura around it, which is pretty awesome.. Minus the tarot reader and the non pic policy and the cover charge, its pretty awesome...

I LOVE that there is no recording/picture taking allowed (unless the artists strictly tell you otherwise). It helps keep their art intact but helps immerse yourselves with them into their craft. The Apothecary was the cure. We grabbed seats mid bar and before we even finished settling in, there were waters waiting on the bar. That simple move already separated this place from the chaos outside. It's hospitality in its cleanest form: welcome in, take a breath, we got you. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on. Alchemist Elixir: pea flower gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon. It shows up pale violet with an orchid on the rim and yes it's pretty, but it's also disciplined. Floral without tasting like perfume. Bright without being sour. A drink that makes you slow down. Plus a magic chemists surprise. Corpse Reviver #2: local gin, Lillet Blanc, Grand Marnier, absinthe, fresh lemon. Cold, crisp, citrus first, then the herbal edge and just enough absinthe to remind you what city you're in. Served in a textured coupe with a cherry skewer, details handled like they actually matter. Outside, the streets were selling amnesia in plastic souvenir cups.
