Went to Hot Tin on my first visit to NoLa and this bar is a must see. The view of the city and the skyline is gorgeous. Drinks area really good and the service is honestly very quick. They also have a pitcher of water for you to fill up.

One of the best ways to get a breathtaking view of the city! While the outside patio was small with two tables and limited seating, it was a nice way to escape the heat! There is inside seating as well I ordered the Very Demure drink. It was soooo refreshing! I even had a second one. It was a nice way to cool off and enjoy a beautiful afternoon in a different area that the French Quarter.

Dropped in for a drink before dinner in the area. Hot tin came at high praise and know to have delicious drinks and a great rooftop view. Smaller menu- we opted to try to High Violet and the Rita Hayworth. High violet was refreshing and full of flavor, Rita Hayworth had just the right amount of spice. Bartenders weren't very chatty but quick for service. Came at a good time before the rush and able to grab a seat outside overlooking the city. Cool spot to check out, would love to return and see it in full swing at night.

Cocktail bar perfection. Met some friends here on a warm summer evening. I took the stairs and the journey was fun. I loved the signs of encouragement at every landing. The space is unique and offers everything from rooftop views, intimate seating options, or a front row seat at the bar where the magic happens. The cocktails are crafted with care and they are delicious. Staff are very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed my experience and hope to return soon!

Obsessed with this place. I always take visitors from out of town here to make sure they see more than just the Quarter. I always suggest it as a spot for after dinner drinks. I LOVE this bar. They are pricey yes but the bartenders are nice and knowledgeable and make great tasting gorgeous drinks. I love their espresso martini. It's smooth, creamy and you can taste the cocoa and it's CONSISTENT! Doesn't matter who's making it, it's going to be delicious and what you expected/wanted. My favorite view of the New Orleans skyline. It CAN get crowded up here but just chat and make friends and eventually you'll get a spot to sit and take in the dazzling lights of the Big Easy

Absolutely awesome view of the city. Fantastic cocktails, good service. The place was really thumping. This was definitely for a younger crowd however, based on the music being played. The music was loud and it was hard to have a conversation. If that's your scene, you're gonna love it. There's a small deck on the opposite side for a small group of maybe six or eight people. There can be a queue in the lobby for the elevator based on the occupancy upstairs. It gets really busy at about 9 PM.

What initially was supposed to be a quick restroom break during the parade ending up being a place to hang out and decompress with our group of girls. It was perfect for us as there were comfortable seats for us to relax all while taking in the NOLA skyline. This rooftop bar is located inside the Ponchitarian hotel. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area looking for good views and drinks.

We stopped here off the St. Charles streetcar. Delicious cocktails, friendly bartender and outrageous views. Try the Rita Hayworth!!

Hot Tin arguably has the best view of the city. It's always good vibes and great drinks here no matter the day or time. The aesthetic is also pretty cool. Bonus points for a picturesque bathroom -- that always gets me.

Great view of the city of NOLA, the bridge and the taller buildings side. You'll take the elevator up from the hotel and walk right into the rooftop, more of a terrace. There is an inside which is nice if it rains. Cocktails were delicious.

View from lounge to railing ...

This was a very nice little rooftop bar/lounge on top of the Pontchartrain Hotel on the edge of the Garden District. The trolley drives right down the midway in front of it, so there are lots of ways to get here. For places to dine, the hotel has a chichi restaurant called the Jack Rose and this rooftop bar ... this review is for the latter. Taking the elevator up, you exit right into the covered lounge part of the rooftop bar. When weather is bad you can recline and savor a drink inside, and when weather complies you can sit at the outside railing that provides unparalleled views of New Orleans. Facing out from the railing, the Caesar's Superdome would be on your left and the Huey Long Bridge just off center in your sightline. The view excels at night when everything ... especially the bridge ... is lit. Drinks were excellent, either from their cocktail list or anything you'd like them to make ... they were up to the challenge. While there is someone going around taking orders, the fastest way to get a drink is to belly up to the bar yourself and bring it back to your seat. When this place is busy, it is busy. All to say, this was a wonderful spot to start your New Orleans adventure. Nice cocktails, great views, and a laid back ambiance. Try it ...

Beautiful view!!!! Amazing ambiance. Loved it! You should definitely check it out if you're in NOLA

A total vibe! A rooftop bar with views of the New Orleans Skyline. Great music and great drinks. Seating was limited due to 2 college graduations on the same weekend but we made it work.

Ask the Community - Hot Tin

How is the vibe on Monday nights?

Is there ever live music in the evenings here? If so, what nights usually?

Hi Eileen! Hot Tin does not have live music; however, our sister bar, Bayou Bar, does! It's located on the ground floor of the Pontchartrain Hotel and has live music Tuesday - Saturday!

Are teenagers allowed to dine here?

Since covid, this establishment is operating as a restaurant. We had a 17 year old with us and no one questioned her. I feel it would be fine. An ID is required for alcohol purchases, of course.

Small plates coming soon? That's what the link in the IG bio for The Ponchartrain says. Please share the menu and details when available!

    Do they serve beer?

Yes! They have traditional beers on tap as well as a couple NOLA made beers.

Is there an entry fee to get in?

There was not one when I had went, but there will most certainly be a bit of a line if you're going on a weekend

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed.
