[[HIGHLIGHT]]In the famous Antoines restaurant, they have a beautiful bar with a fabulous happy hour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wouldn't miss a stop here while in town. Prices are reasonable and service is quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love looking at all the Mardi Gras mementos...they are home to the top rated Rex.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you haven't been here yet, you need to make it part of you upcoming plans. You will thank me later!

We ate at Antoine's last time we were in NOLA, but didn't have time for a meal here this trip. We were luckily able to stop in at their bar for a quick afternoon drink and were not disappointed. Great service and great drinks, would definitely go back.

Came here for drinks and got completely blown away! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We absolutely looooove this bar - it's a MUST every time we visit now.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got classic cocktails (dirty gin martini and old fashioned) and they were delicious. We also decided to grab the Oysters Bay Ronquille and my god, they were phenomenal. The bartender (I think his name was Christian?) was amazing! Super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and patient! During the busy hours we were there, he made a few Ramos Gin Fizzes (which takes a LONG time) for a couple folks and we thought that was really nice of him, considering how busy it was.

This review is about the service-or rather, lack there of on Friday, September 12th 2025. I wanted a nice meal so my daughter and I went to Antoine's where the hostess walked us to the Hermes Bar section, since we weren't dressed for the fine dining room and that was totally fine with us. A waitress brought us waters, she didn't say a word or look at us and just dropped them at our table. A little odd but still fine. We didn't see her for a minute so my daughter ordered a drink at the bar from the bartender. I decided to order a mocktail a few minutes later and also placed my order w the bartender. The waitress delivers my drink, and again no words were spoken nor acknowledgment was given. At this point, it's definitely weird especially as she walked past us so many times and has greeted other diners and taken their orders. I wait a few minutes and ask the bartender if he could take our food order and he let us know we have a server who is handling those tables. Ok, fine. At this point it is what it is and we decide we don't want to eat here anymore. The bartender takes care of our bill and at this time, he is also taking the orders for a new group that just sat down at a table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]To be clear, the bar was not busy at all. There were 2 tables with people when I first sat down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also noticed another couple who weren't greeted leave after a few minutes of waiting. We were at this bar for a total of 30 minutes, just to give you a time frame. Way too long to not have your server greet you. The dinner menu looked promising but I can't comment on that. Our drinks were yummy and the bartender was great - 5 stars for him.

Went here for dessert and coffee after stuffing ourselves at another establishment. Love that about The Big Easy where you can restaurant/ bar hop all you want because they have late hours and are always friendly. (Makes it very easy to gain weight and get tipsy.) My cousin likes this place because unlike its fancy older brother Antoine which is just next door, Hermes does not require a dinner jacket or long pants. He wanted us to experience one of the big 3 French restaurants so we gladly obliged! We went for the bread pudding. I'm not even that big of a bread pudding fan, but I'm definitely a fan of theirs! It had a nice presentation and consistency, firm and smooth so your fork glides through, not like soggy bread in cream sauce that flops around. The baked Alaska was pretty good and comes with a generous cup of chocolate sauce so you can decide whether to drizzle or drown it but didn't wow me like the bread pudding. Actually the chocolate sauce was good on the bread pudding! Darn I forgot our server's name but he was young and friendly and gave us great leads on where to listen to jazz. Another great NOLA experience!

The Pim's Cup is the best I've had in New Orleans. My family enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller and the Oysters Ronquille. Not liking oysters myself, I had the cordon bleu sliders which were DELICIOUS. The service was fantastic, especially with Shy. She was so friendly. We will definitely be back here!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Classy, elegant, and gourmet bar that offers a great selection of oysters![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the 2-2-2 oysters which included the Oysters Rockefeller, the Charbroiled Oysters, and Oysters Bay Ronquille- I'd recommend this as it offers a diverse taste of their selection. Our server& bartender Alexis was incredibly sweet and welcoming, we leaned on her recommendations and they were the best choices, such as the La Vie en Rose and Pimm's Cup. Great experience.

Tried out the happy hour here on a recent trip to NOLA. We arrived just after 4 pm, when happy hour started, and the bar was packed. Luckily, we found a couple seats available at the bar. Service was great, despite the packed bar. Drinks were good and the appetizers were on point. Loved all appetizers we had, which included: shrimp remoulade, onion petals, andouille sausage, and one chicken cordon bleu slider. The food was well seasoned and delicious. We were also served complimentary bread/a baguette, that was delicious. Definitely made this into a nice meal for us, and a less expensive option than dining at Antoine's. Recommend the happy hour for your NOLA adventures!

Love stopping by Hermès Bar. Bartender is lovely and service was excellent. We had a glass of champagne and a vieux carré cocktail - both were delicious. Bartender recommended we order the 2-2-2 oysters off the menu and include 2 Rockefeller, 2 Chargrilled and 2 Bienville. Such a great way to try 3 different kinds! Always happy to stop by Hermès Bar!

Have been here on many occasions as I work nearby. Stopped in recently for a cocktail and quick bite. Had the Mardi Martini and the cheese gougeres. The cocktails are okay, the food is a bit pricey. Service can be a bit uneven. The real draw of this place is the location and cool Mardi Gras memorabilia everywhere. When the weather cooperates and they can have the doors to the street open, the people watching is fantastic.

    French75

Everything went well. The food and the cocktails were superb. You have to go here. Their version of the Frencb75 is wonderful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What an historical adventurous experience to be at this astonishing place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You have to go!! You just have to.

    Charbroiled oysters
    Safia S.

The food was ok, the ambiance was meh and the service was not great. The neighboring restaurant is touted as a must visit in the French quarter. I visited Antoine's but they weren't accepting walk ins. Hermes bar has much of the same menu. I walked in and was promptly seated at the bar. The bar was consistently wet with water the entire duration of my trip (don't know why the staff didn't dry up the water!). I ordered the charbroiled oysters, the gumbo, and the pompano. The oysters were too salty, the gumbo was good, and the pompano was cooked well but very under seasoned. Most importantly the servers were just scurrying around and not attentive at all. It was Monday evening, the place wasn't even too crowded.

    oysters bay ronquille

[[HIGHLIGHT]]very pricey and a little crowded during the happy hour we went to[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (first time standing the entire time), but they have very good bread pudding, espresso martinis, and of course oysters. tried the original rockefeller and bay ronquille - both were very good

The space is absolutely stunning--flooded with natural light from massive windows that offer breathtaking views of the French Quarter and the mighty Mississippi River. The vibe is relaxed and inviting, with smooth Neo soul music playing in the background that made it easy to settle in and get some work done. I kept it simple with soda water while plugging away on my laptop, but my wife enjoyed a fresh salad along with a burger and fries, which she said hit the spot. The real standout was the service; our hostess Barbara greeted us with such a warm smile and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The best place to stop, along with the Black Penny, on Rampart if you want a good cocktail. We stopped in on a hot Sunday late afternoon. What a refuge! The bar had plenty of seats, and the people in there were a nice mix of locals and cool tourists that don't want to spend their drinking day on Bourbon Street. Drinks are so fairly priced. In a time when cocktails are upwards of 20 bucks even in NOLA, it's nice to see theirs cost considerably less and they have a solid HH with $8 cocktails (rotating specials).
