I was a regular over 15 years ago when Anna's was Mimi's. Recently, Anna's has hosted my favorite dance party, Idapo, in its last 2 iterations. This has brought me back into the fold. I had a good cocktail, the aqua something which was citrusy with a generous sprig of rosemary. They made a yummy mocktail for my mom (a dancing machine) and my date loved their version of an old fashioned. Plus, the bartenders were courteous and cool.

Fr: Tropicalia: Yuca fries ($9), meat pies ($13), and chicken & cheese tapioca ($16) All very good

I was drunk and came to Anna's by accident. I was supposed to end the night here. I'm glad they were serving Brazilian snack food from Tropicalia. I had the yuca fries ($9), meat pies ($13), and tapioca (similar to a quesadilla) w/ chicken & cheese ($16). All of food was really good. The fries were GBD, the meat pies had a nice amount of meat, and the tapioca was packed with meat. The ladies in the kitchen were very nice, and my food came out quickly. The place is old skool, and neighborhoody. There is a bar on each floor and a pool table downstairs. I would have stayed for a drink, but the place was dead on Sat night of St Patty's Day weekend. However, I felt lucky to score some good food b4 I went off to the next place.

This is like an upscale trendy dive bar, a perfect vibe for its location in the New Orleans Bywater. The cocktails are experimental and delicious, and the kitchen attached has perfect dive bar grill food. The bartender was perfectly attentive and pleasant to do business with. Can't wait for next time!

I wish I could remember my bartender name .. you were amazing and I hope you do well in life !! We walked from jam.nola a few blocks away -- and found this little bar and decided to grab a drink! Tequila daisy was the suggestion and when I tell you it was delicious!! There was music playing , they have a pool table & you can order some snacks upstairs ! They have cute little tables set up outside for use . 10/10 beautiful bar I will be back

Carda-Marg! This is an excellent drink.

I love this neighborhood spot! The bar is on a corner and has a good size bar and plenty of seating. The bartender was really nice and helped us pick out a variety of cocktails. All of the special cocktails we had were delicious The stand out for me was the frozen Cardamon Tea Margarita drink. Not sweet and a wonderful subtle flavor. I must get back for more of those.

The upstairs bar is slowly becoming my favorite hiding spot. There's a pretty dope cocktail menu and the ambiance is just right. I stumbled upon an open mic night and it was a really great time listening to people tell their stories with full expression! The bartenders are nice and accommodating. I'm a fan! The food pop up from Tacos para la vida is the absolute icing on the cake!

New Orleans. If cities were bars, New Orleans would be America's dive bar. Old, beautiful, a precarious balance of decay and rebirth and you never know which way it will tilt towards on a given day. This city is full of characters blended with the affluent, the young, the business folks and the workers. A beautiful mix of cultures and experiences coming together. Anna's is dyed in the wool New Orleans. Through a sad ending to Mimi's in the Marigny which was the previously beloved institution that resides here, Anna's is the new caretaker, making small changes to the place, without stripping it of what made it charming to begin with. The staff here was so typically friendly on their opening night, with Anna herself checking on guests and delivering food and drinks, that one could easily forget that they hadn't been doing this for years. Fun fact- they have, at many other institutions throughout the city. The level of skill and hospitality shouldn't exists in a dive bar, which is why this place will be so special. The small plates of food are fantastic, and pair perfectly with the well crafted and mostly $9 cocktails ($6 at happy hour). I expect that tourists and locals will adore this space. From the young to the old, the straight to the LGBTQ+, and people of all shapes sizes and colors will come to Anna's to be a part of the gumbo of a city.

On a previous trip we had seen an evening show at Snug Harbor and wanted to experience something else. We had read good things about the Spotted Cat and their sets run all afternoon. We were a little confused about price because one of our guidebooks said there is no cover but you're supposed to order drinks. There was a doorman who charged us something like $5 each (still cheap!) and we ordered beer and a N/A drink at the bar and listened to a great jazz group playing old-time jazz. Interior is tiny and you're pretty close to the performers. We were standing at first but eventually found some seats as people left. There is even a back courtyard if you want to be outside, although I don't know if you can hear the music or not. We bought a CD from the band and enjoyed it when we got back home. All in all, a great New Orleans experience.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!
