    Crispy Shrimp & Grits
    Jihye B.

I had a hotel credit I could use on this restaurant, so I popped into the Peacock Room for a solo early dinner. The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!

Good vibes abound in the Peacock Room, as it seemed to be the place to be. My colleague picked our cocktail and dining destination on a whim, as it was convenient to our hotel. The random choice was a hit. While my pic was limited to my cocktail (Old Fashioned), I also had the Peacock Smash Burger that came w fries. Quite tasty, although heavy on the salt. We had the Curry Cashews as a snack prior. The bar area was professionally handled by Joshua. He also briefed us on local knowledge for future visits.

The Peacock Room was the perfect brunch find. The Bayou Benedict was delish! The decor made for a nice ambiance. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. This would be a great spot for groups, the brunch tower and boozy social starters would be fun to share with friends.

The Peacock Room brunch was phenomenal! The decor is amazing and the environment is so fun and lively. Hector was fantastic and took such great care of our large group with patience and attentiveness. The food was delicious across the board. We ordered the brunch tower and loved it. It's a lot of food, so it's perfect for sharing. You might add a salad, but you really don't need more than one shared dish for the table. They also have espresso martini towers, which are definitely on my list to try next time. I absolutely love the vibes here--it's such a fun place to brunch and take some cute photos!

This is a beautiful place to have a cocktail and chill out. They have live music some nights and that makes it especially nice for a date night. Due to the holidays they have a Holiday Cocktail Menu you can choose from. I got the Blackberry Magpie and Truffle Fries and it was indeed delicious. They were restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating during my visit. I would certainly recommend this place. It is Beautiful!

Lounge Area. Comfortable, casual place to sit

Located in the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, it is actually a nice restaurant that has a lot of charm. Located away from the nose and bustle of Bourbon Street, we had a peaceful dinner that is not fried or wholly unhealthy (i.e. greasy). The presentation of the food came was amazing. We ordered the linguine and added meatballs, which was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp & grits, which included Brussels sprouts. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. It is a little on the pricey side, but after several days of eating in the touristy area of the French Quarter, this was truly a welcome change. Service was polite and attentive. I always appreciate the staff's efforts by making simply making eye contact and smiling (which they did). Seems trivial but I think those small things says a lot about a business. I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not a guest of the hotel.

Gorgeous space, mediocre over priced food, but great service (although we were running late and they told us they couldn't move our reservation, but during our entire service there were 7+ open tables).

You have to try this place! The ambiance is top notch! My hubby and I had our first Sazerac and it was art! Jonah made it incredible to watch and smell and taste! I had the High Priestess (2) and they were both out of this world - we also had chocolate bread pudding and it blew our mind! HIGHLY SUGGEST!

This place was a vibe!!! Came here for my mother's bday dinner with my little sisters. The food was reasonably priced for the portion received and tasted incredible. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would def recommend! Need to go back and try their happy hour specials

We had reservations for Mother's Day. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess. She was friendly and inviting. The Mothers were told that we could make our own bouquets of flowers. Nice touch! We were seated right away. The place is beautiful. I love the decor. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The Peacock Brunch Tower was simply delicious. The caviar and potato cakes were my favorite. I also tried the crispy Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. For my entree, I ordered the crispy shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy and pretty tasty. I felt though that the dish needed that New Orleans kick. That's what I was missing.

Service was good, food was good! The appetizers were just okay, had the sticky buns and deviled eggs (didn't taste very truffleish)

Beautiful bar inside the Kimpton Hotel with sumptuous velvet lounge chairs and couches. The daily happy hour is from 4-6pm. I really enjoyed the Wheel of Fortune cocktail which was bartender's choice of what you drink. The Peacock fries and vermouth marinated olives were delicious snacks that filled me up. My server was friendly and attentive.

The Peacock room a is a lovely space. We visited for dinner and probably should have just gone for drinks. The drinks were lovely, the service was good. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food however was problematic. We started with the focaccia which was toasted with melted butter but also had a side of butter, never thought I would say too much better but it was. The curry cashews however were nice. We ordered the blue crab bucatini, there was no crab to be found and the seasoning was non existent. It sounded promising but even adding salt could not fix the dish. The next dish that fell flat was the spicy shrimp, the shrimp was over cooked, dry and stale. The burger was delicious and the parmesan fries were good. If you want ambience and tasty drinks I would say definitely visit, I am not sure about the food, maybe it was a bad day.

We ordered a few different small plates to share around the table. The Scotch Egg was spectacular--perfectly crispy and savory on the outside with a gorgeous, rich jammy yolk inside, served right alongside house-made piccalilli relish. We also tried the Zucchini and Horseradish plate, which was incredibly unique and flavorful. It features a perfectly charred zucchini base loaded with a zesty horseradish cream and topped with beautifully shingles of crisp, fresh zucchini slices. While I didn't get a chance to snap photos of everything else we ate, every single bite was inventive, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
