Duck Confit
Natasha B.

Very cute little place and a nice surprise. Had the duck confit and lobster roll. The duck was really good and came with rice and a sauce. Really good and very well seasoned. Also had the lobster Roll. Although it was good, it was about the size of the palm of your hand with about a heaping teaspoon of lobster. Not neessarily not worth the cost unless you are okay with spending a lot for a little. Overall, very cute and copy and the drinks were good.

We stumbled into C&J for after dinner drinks in a their beautiful roof top bar. I wish I could remember the bartender name but it's kinda his fault my brain is in a fog today. I told him I was a gin drinker, he said I got you. A shaky shake later I had the most fragrant cocktail in front of me. The aroma and beauty of this drink served in a vintage vibe crystal glass made me feel like a New Orleans belle from the twenties era. So pretty. The name did not fit the aesthetic of this drink. Army Navy? The bartender said it was a classic old time cocktail which was a perfect fit for this beautiful environment. Definitely Check out Charles and Julia for a cocktail!

We came for happy hour on the rooftop. It was pretty hot but we snagged the last shady table and chairs. The bartender was very attentive despite it being quite busy. We tried the smoked trout dip and it was spicy and delicious. Next time we'll opt for the indoor downstairs bar for glassware and to try more of their food.

Charles and Julia is fairly new place. I found them on Instagram before my birthday trip. Jayden was our bartender and he was great to chat with and made good drinks. I did notice they had bar bites too but I was saving room for dinner. We were there around sunset and had a view from the roof. There is also a pool which I believe you can get a day pass for.

I might've already did a review but it wanted me to add pictures and here's more it asked me to do more review. The place was great. The surface was great. Food was delicious. The ambience is good. It was a cool little hangout place. Highly recommend recommended. My only thing is the meat plate. Should say that it's a pork pate I thought it would be different salami or other type of Italian hams some type of prosciutto so I had salami and the pate. I'm not a big pate guy. The dinner was fun. We enjoyed the food and they remembered my wife's birthday. She got a little nappy a small glass of sparkling rosé but she enjoyed and gave her a smile. Thank you. Great job Charles and Julia.

My new fave for sure! I am in love with the rooftop terrace bar. It is super cute & has a nice little pool. The music is good and I found my new favorite bartender, Brooklyn. Hey girl! She was super sweet & had great suggestions for me after finding out I'm a gin girlie. I came for a quick happy hour drink and bite but ended up staying for hours on end. A friend met me and the staff probably thought we had tapeworms or the munchies because once we tried the dates, which is specifically what I came for, we ordered them again. Then, after we tried the escargot style lobster/crawfish (they were low on lobster so they mixed it & lowered the price), we ordered it TWO more times lol. It was that good. Mind you we also had the crab claws AND the tuna and watermelon crudo. We were truly in big back heaven lol. The crudo was so fresh and delicious. The watermelon was perfectly sweet & I loved the crushed red pepper flakes. The crab claws were yummy. The dates were just perfect. I would like another date with the dates. The saltiness of the bacon, the smooth goat cheese, the sweetness of the dates, and that delicious balsamic hot honey...just *chef's kiss*. The baked lobster escargot style with the dreamy butter & breadcrumbs is just unmatched. And we had some bread with it to sop up that delicious butter. The drinks were on point too. Brooklyn made me a fantastic Army & Navy that I will have to spin the block for. I had the two frozen drinks (like a pomegranate marg & frozen Paloma) mixed too and it was delicious. Definitely would get that again on a warm day. I really can't wait to come back!

We planned to have dinner here and was seated in a casual area with lower tables. While nice to sit for a casual drink was not up to par for parties who planned to dine in. Our first server we asked to move had declined our request. Stating there wasn't any room to accommodate. Which to be fair is fair when it's a Saturday night. However, we had made reservations and was astonished this wasn't an accommodation for a party they knew was coming in ahead of time. Thankfully, my friend went up to the host to request a table change, and was eventually accommodated with a booth. Booth can sit 6 people comfortably and 7 was a tad squish so they immediately offered an ottoman for someone to sit in the end. Food was delicious, most of us ordered the steak and frites.

However, a few of our drinks took longer than expected to arrive, which temporarily paused the fun and conversation while we wondered where they were. That aside, the staff were all very pleasant. You'll find street parking and there were some parking garages within walking distance.

Great cocktails and light dinner!…read more We dined on the super cute patio space out back and had such a nice time. The cocktail menu was unique and had so many options to choose from. The food menu was semi limited, but we had no trouble finding some things we were excited to try. The highest for us was the red bean dish - so flavorful! The service was also exceptional. I'd recommend as a fun date night!

They seated us indoors (we had a reservation) and we were pumped because the indoors looks very inviting. Jumped into cocktails, I first had the honeydew spritz, then the Negroni. Drinks are so delicious. What stands out is the food! We had a few dishes to try. Starting with the Calas, which had 4 pieces and came with one of the most delicious butters. Tried it and didn't think it needed it but then when I put it on you would get your hand stabbed if you tried to take it away. We also got the crawfish bread which was absolutely spectacular. I can't stop thinking about it. It also came with a spicy butter that really make the dish stand out. I also wanted to hoard the butter here. We stayed long enough to where the snack menu came out. We had each one fresh tuna tartelette, and a crab tartelette each, which was outstanding. Since we wanted to move on and try other foods, we left. However, I must say that the service was outstanding and the food and drinks worth the trip! Support small businesses! This place is highly regarded for a reason.

The place is beautifully decorated, food was a bit pricey but worth the experience, and the star of the show was definitely our amazing server Charlie! Charlie gave us a tour of the upstairs area known for its spirits and told us fun ghost stories and sightings about the place as well as its history! It was the only place I felt in the French Quarter that I really felt the presence of ghosts. Upstairs in the dark blue room with the chandelier my friend and I kept catching green blobs in all of our pictures both on my digital camera and her iphone. Highly recommend if you are looking for a lunch spot with great spooky ambience and rich history!

To be clear, I don't care about the money, but I value the good energy I receive in NOLA. The oysters and the other item I got were mediocre. But then when I left, I saw a sign outside saying a dozen oysters were on special during the Happy Hour period I was there in for $12. So they looked me in the eye and decided to rob me (not of money, of human decency) instead of letting me know about the special. Stay away from this crappy place, there are countless cool people and joints in this wonderful town.
