I did not realize that I've never written a review for a bar that's been one of my favorites for years now. I'm disappointed in myself. The drinks are always deelishis! Creative cocktails with good names to boot (sometimes the name alone decides what I will order). I have seriously never had a bad drink (and I've been going literally since they opened in January of 2022). I've never had a bad bartender either. The service is always top tier. The vibe is always on point. I enjoy the music there (and sometimes sing some R&B hits like I wrote them myself). The food is good as well. A visit or two ago, I had a crab roll that I haven't been able to get off my mind. This place is always one I recommend to people if they're looking for a bar because I know they won't embarrass me lol.

I received an email advertising lobster roll night at the Bower, and had to check it out. My daughter is a teen, so getting her to go anywhere with us takes an act of congress. Since we promised lobster rolls, she acquiesced. My husband, daughter and I all loved the space. Dark, mysterious walls, wide open floor to ceiling windows, lush foliage everywhere, and an inside/outside feel. We all ordered lobster rolls and are impressed with what we received. The lobster itself was fresh and perfectly cooked, and was seasoned very nicely. Even though we came specifically for the lobster rolls, I'll be back to try some of their other dishes. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen gave me FOMO. I can't neglect to mention that our server was wonderful, as was the host.

After six long hours of driving, we finally checked into our Airbnb and were desperate for two things: a stiff drink and something snacky to tide us over. Lucky for us, this place was walkable AND had a happy hour--a winning combo! I went for the happy hour martini, which, fair warning, comes in a slightly smaller glass than a full-sized martini, but hey--it was still beautiful and did the job. Our bartender, Brianna, was an absolute cutie and made us feel right at home. For food, we ordered the whipped feta appetizer, which was shockingly large for an HH special. It came with bread, two types of pickled veggies, and a big scoop of creamy, salty feta goodness. Speaking of salt--yes, the feta was a tad on the salty side, but when paired with a cocktail? Perfect. All in all, a solid first stop to kick off the trip. And after hours in a car, that martini (small glass or not) hit just right.

Before its current iteration as The Bower Bar, I knew this place strictly as Claret. Beyond the rebranding, not much has changed as they still offer quality cocktails, a nice indoor / outdoor ambiance, some halfway decent food, and a killer happy hour. In NOLA where good drinks and good company is life, this is one of the betterment establishments without the hustle or bustle. The inside is modern and clean. I appreciate their extensive outdoor seating and very clean bathrooms. Packing can be a challenge, practically everything is limited to street parking. When in doubt ride sharing is key. (#1) Happy Hour is usually my golden hour here, since some of their signature cocktails that normally cost $13-16 are now suddenly $7-8. (#2) They're all potent, well-crafted, and the presentation is on point. The house punch, paloma, and old fashioned are great options to start. From the regular cocktail menu, I really like the magazine margarita ($13), mood ring ($14), and 51 problems ($14). The chef's selection charcuterie ($35) is really good. That Spanish goat cheese and truffle oil chicken liver mousse is particularly excellent. The pappardelle bolognese ($28), basil spaghetti ($23), porcini conchiglie ($28, scallops ($38) are quite nice. When the prices are at a certain point, I expect the service to be stellar. They've always done a good job at taking care of everyone with me and I've always left here feeling good. Consider The Bower Bar for an ideal group gathering and a fun date. __________ (#1) Drinking and driving is a little too easy in the Big Easy. (#2) Welcome to 2022 where $7 cocktails are now considered a deal.

This is such a cute space! I love the dinning area, the bar and the outdoor space. It's so cute. The service was really good too! We had drinks and apps. I tried a few different drinks that all tasted really good, and most of the appetizers were delish! I thought the arancini was kind of bland in comparison, and we all agreed that the tuna tartar had an unpleasant floral note from the rose vinegar. I would order the whipped feta and the truffle parm bread over and over again though!

The food was excellent but we had a terrible waitress that would make us consider twice if we could go again. After ordering drinks from waitress 1 no one asked us what we wanted to order to eat for 37 minutes and I only think we were acknowledged because I flagged down the waitress. She was by our table multiple times bouncing between a table of 4 and table of 6 and kept ignoring us.

Wonderful happy hour at The Bower. Food and drinks came out quickly and service was great. We had Palomas and Apricot daiquiris which were both delicious. Truffle bread, Spicy Scallop Arancini, cheese and meat plates which were great as well. Lovely space and ambience. Will be back again!

I was excited to try another outdoor venue for food and drinks. My friend and I tried this place mainly bc it had outdoor seating and we hadnt been here before. We got there pretty early so it was a bit empty..the time change has really F'd us up so it always feels later than it is..anywho..I liked the feel of the place..felt serene and trendy. I had a glass of wine and the chefs selection charcuterie plate which was absolutely delicious. It came with so many accompaniments. I did think it was a tad overpriced though. While every business owner has the right to do things the way they want..I was VERY turned off with a cat hanging around. The cat ran across my feet and was jumping into chairs next to patrons..i dont know abt you but I dont like my food/wine with a side of Cat. The waitress was great! Very attentive and explained some of the menu options really well. Overall it was a good experience..

So far I can only speak for my drink selection. I did the LGD cocktail. Reposado Tequila, hibiscus and orange flower, orgeat and mole bitters are the ingredients to this such sweet cocktail. I really enjoy this cocktail a lot!it's really refreshing you guys and light weight for.

    Happy Hour on Saturday!!!
    Re H.

Impromptu Happy Hour on a Saturday.....now that's my kinda Saturday. What a location! Beautifully nestled at the back of the complex and buttered up against an astro turf lawn sprinkled with families who appear to be dropped straight from the pages of Garden & Gun Magazine. After a laxidazical day of Estate shopping we wondered over to Claret at Jen's (Infamous Yelper Jen L.) suggestion. A hip open vibe meant I was instantly hooked. We were seated at one of the small tables that overlook the courtyard, where as I mentioned several people were already enjoying glasses of wine and charcuterie. Our one armed server, Sara went over the drink menu and answered all our questions. Let's be clear. Sara doesn't really have one arm, she's temporarily in recovery from a shoulder injury. She also brought over a sampling of the current frozen bevie which was worthy of an Ibiza weekend getaway. I knew immediately that I wanted the Beet Hummus and we chose a cheese plate since our journey for ice cream earlier was squashed. As the plates were served there was the distinct sound of oohs and aahs. Beautiful food. Oh I love you already. As we chatted amongst ourselves, Jen shared with us that Claret is sister to Bar Frances on Freret. Well then....we loved it all. There's nothing better than a delightful sip of a nice something, a bite of a delicious everything and a varied conversation to end the perfect day. Since it was Happy Hour, what?! Oh hurrah! We'll have the whipped feta too please. Sara mentioned it was her favorite thing as she present our 3rd choice. It was delicious. I watched the staff buzz around in a playful dance as the tables began to quickly fill. Can I say, for a server with one mobile arm, Sara she can move, whoa. I feel sorry for other places, when I think about a dining experience after my first visit. So much so that I mention it to friends via texts at 1:42am in the morning and plan my next visit as soon as possible, that I think about it for 2 days now...Claret has captured my heart. I'll be back, much sooner than later and will shout it out.....Happy Hour! oh how delightful you are at Claret!

What a great find and and favorite new spot for me. We couldn't not have made a better choice than Claret's weekend happy hour on the first day of decent weather in New Orleans. The beautiful wine bar opens to a great patio across from other visually appealing restaurant/shops. Excited to have them and excited for a Saturday/Sunday Happy Hour (2pm-6pm). The food is wonderful and fresh and so is the service. We tried the daily punch, a bourbon sangria like cocktail that was light and easy to enjoy. Whipped Feta, Whipped Carrots (personal favorite), Charcouterie board and Smoked Tuna were also all fantastic. So good, we returned the next day and were pleased to find they rolled out a TV for the Saints Game. Doesn't get much better!

Great new spot in the LGD! Look for the new build building and they are in the back on the left as you face the courtyard. I say this because the door is inset a little. Thanks goodness for their triangle floor sign... that's not their name but you know what I'm talking about. I've been 2x already and had an assortment of cocktails. On one of the preview nights, I had a lovely glass of bubbles and sampled a Boulevardier. The other night with the fabulous Shercole, I tried a Rosy Disposition, at first I though the Pernod might be too much for me, but that was just the first sip. Refreshing and delicious. Second I had the Wrong Way Home, so tasty and citrusy. I also tried the pimento cheese on a saltine which is stupidly delicious and the carrot puree which pops with ginger. Service was great. And the atmosphere is well designed and fun. The outdoor courtyard is great... when it's not 80bajillion degrees.

I'm in love, I'm in love! I love EVERYTHING about this spot. Its soooo cute and lively. It gives me LA vibes which I can truly appreciate. The drinks were everything. I ordered the HENNYTHING Can Happen and my friend ordered the TDC. Man, I wanted to order more and more lol. It was delicious. The HENNYTHING tasted like a pinnaple upside down cake. I can't wait to go back and try the food. The menu had really great options. Will be back!

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

Went during their brunch time and it was pretty busy but we were able to get a table easily at…read moretheir indoor seating. Looking around, the place was so pretty and green, with a lot of natural lighting due to there being many windows and open doors. Once we sat our waiter came and once he heard it was our first time there, he instantly offered recommendations to us and gave us plenty of time to order. I ordered the Cubano sandwhich, crawfish beignets, and regular beignets. Everything was so good! The sandwhich came with fries as part of the order and they were crispy to perfection. The crawfish beignets are more like hush puppies though so keep that in mind! The regular beignets had a good flasky crust to them and were so pillowy. I would definitely come back to try their dinner menu!

Lots of seating indoor and out! It has a relaxed but hip atmosphere! I forgot to get pictures but we had cocktails, appetizers and entrees. Everything was very good! Our server was very attentive and hustling to keep all her tables happy! Mission accomplished ma'am The truffle fries were outstanding along with the red fish amandine, shrimp risotto, short ribs, and fig and goat cheese flat bread! Not sure of the parking because we walked. If you go make a reservation, it's a must!! Drinks Apps Entrees Staff Location I definitely recommend and will be back! Cheers
