So Tommy and I stopped by here on a Wednesday morning to use the facilities and to get our morning drink on. This is a legit dive with 12 ounce beers being $5. When I came to NOLA in 2024 Harry's was closed and I was heart broken. I came to NOLA again for Halloween Week 2025 and it was open! I love this little hole in the wall. My group of four, with a little more time on our hands than we expected to have (we did some walking tours earlier) wanted to sorta wing it and burn our time hopping from one bar to the next until we hit a finish line of some sort. Got off a trolley ride and walked. this was the first spot we hit, so eh. Why not! Like most bars in the general French Quarter area, it's a no-frills kinda place. You come in, grab a drink to have there or take out, and you're done. Good selection of music. Bartender was pretty quick getting to us, although they were slightly busy. She must have been tired, though, because she gave me too much change back when I paid for our round. I made sure to give to correct this, though, because I would have for her to get in trouble if she came out short. We probably spent about 15 minutes and bounced to the next. Dusty little dive bar in the French Quarter bartending by a couple of old farts, but they're amazing dudes. The service was good. I liked how fast I got my drink even though it was quite busy. I don't think they had any food but if they did, I'm sure it's awesome. I look like they do live music in there. Maybe I think I saw a stage. While in NOLA with my friends for our friends 40th, Harry's Corner became a kind of home base bar. It was recommended by a FB group for reasonably priced drinks. On the second night in NOLA this was also the rest stop place for our ghost tour which is where I discovered the "Ghostbuster", one of their signature cocktails that is topped with a boozy ghost shaped Jello-Jiggler. OBSESSED. I can't exactly place the cocktail...but it tastes like a Mai Tai meets a Pinâ Colada without being too sweet, but strong, refreshing and tropical. My friends and I kept going back to grab a drink to go, use the restrooms, take a load off before continuing on our way. On our last day there which was my besties bday, we met Paul. He made my friend a special birthday cocktail with a Candle in it and the whole bar sang happy birthday to her. It made her feel SO special. Paul was a doll and if I lived here, Harry's would be the spot I'd come to after a long day for a tasty drink without extortion. Be aware though, this is a cash only bar. An ATM IS located inside however. It's divey, it's vibey, it's affordable and the bartenders are not putting on airs with their kindness, humor and vibe. Every single bartender here we encountered in our numerous stops here were your neighborhood bar type of friendly, fun and ge This is the kind of bar you want to go to when you're not looking for pretentious tourist traps, where you can feel that sense of community even in a tourist heavy city. Cash only locals bar on Chartres. Since it's cash only, the crowds are usually light. The bartenders are really nice, possibly a little chatty and easily distracted. We were in NOLA the weekend of Feb 2nd, 2024. We were looking forward to spending Saturday exploring the French Quarter but unfortunately, the day started with a gentle rain and proceeded to become a raging downpour throughout the day. Fortunately, we found Harry's and we couldn't have landed at a better place. It's a true neighborhood bar. Unpretentious with an overdose of friendly bartenders, patrons, and even a self-described witch. The vibe was perfect. The atmosphere is low-key and welcoming. They have a fantastic old-school jukebox in the corner and the liquor offering is everything I'd expect. We loved spending the day in our new favorite bar away from home. They may not know your name, but they're glad you came. Protect this gem of a place. It beats anything Bourbon St has to offer. read more

I am just not sure how to rate this place.......at first I thought that this is the place to go if you want to get away from the tourists....it's just a quiet place to watch ball games and drink. However in hindsight, hubby and I had two Bloody Mary's in rather small plastic cups. We think we were drugged with something like a date rape drug. We lost memory of our next 6-7 hours. Luckily for us we were staying with friends who live a few doors door from Harry's and they showed up and basically babysat us for the remainder of the day. I have my suspicions that the bar tender was working with some one else and we were targets for something bad to happen but I can't prove that. I only know that after drinking two Bloody Mary's I had memory loss for 8-10 hours and that has never happened to me before. I am no stranger to vodka and regularly have two martinis with no problem. Harry's is a New Orleans style dive bar. What does that mean to someone not familiar with that style of dive bar? Sorry bro. You'll just have to figure that out on your own. Actually, if you frequently use the word bro in conversation, you probably want to avoid this place. No bros allowed. No woo girls either. Stick to Bourbon Street. I guess woo girls and bros are technically allowed din a Nola dive bar, but I suspect all the reasons they don't like it, are reasons I do like it. I would have never found Harry's were it not for being led here by another Yelper. This was our post event hang out spot and all the cool kids were there. Here is what I liked about Harry's. The windows were open to the street. That meant random could ask our group for food recommendations while we sat comfortably at our table. There were video poker machines where kids could sit while their parents bought drinks. There was a jukebox that had the Rolling Stones. The Stones are always a good idea when in a dive bar. There was a lot of funny graffiti above the urinal trough. There was not ice in the urinal trough which was kind of dissapointing. Drinks seemed like they were pretty reasonable, especially for the FQ. I had water which was no charge except when I got a bottled water and it was $2. Nothing wrong with cheap drinks. Service was fast and friendly. There were several ghost tours that stopped in to use the bathroom and fuel up on booze. I guess Harry's is supposed to be haunted or something. We did have a ghost shake, then toss, my empty water bottle on the floor. I guess whoever it was took umbrage to me only drinking water. Sorry ghosty, a boy has to drive. If you find yourself in the FQ and want a nice dive bar experience, Harry's should be on your list. read more

Very inexpensive drinks. We had a long Island, Mimosa and 2 shots of tequila. The waitress free pours the shots, love her, no 4 count pours for us, lol. I really enjoyed this bar. It's a local's bar and I felt that it was an accomplishment when I got the bartender to "like" me. Okay, that may be silly but I used to live in touristy towns and you really do get tired of tourists and their neediness and silly questions. Therefore, when I got here, wearing my Charger's jersey, I knew what to expect and I could tell the bartender wasn't really going to spend much energy on me. "Challenge Accepted!" First off, I don't ask "dumb" questions, I don't demand his attention, and when I do ask a question, it's when he's available. He is running a bar. I never had to ask for refills, he checked on me in his own way and by the end of my short stay, we had talked. Granted, it was about football and where to go, etc. as well as other things. Every time my husband and I come to New Orleans, we make it a point of coming here for a drink or two. We call it The Dog Bar because every time we are there, one or two of the locals have their dogs there. Chewie, doing his best impression of Eminem in 9 Mile wearing a hoodie was there the first time. The last time we were there (June 2009) it was two beautiful huskies. The prices for beer (draft and bottle) are amazingly affordable. Harry's is exactly as Zachary said "a quiet little neighborhood bar in the French Quarter". Lots of the French Quarter tour guides bring their tours in but they are usually in and out and it is good for business. The only complaint I have about Harry's is that every time I've been there I've been passed over for up to 15 minutes while the bartender(s) have waited on numerous locals and regulars before me and then turned their back on me to clean the back counter, etc. I guess you need to build a relationship with them before getting the service of a regular. read more
