Great vibe from the moment we walked in. Steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the Brussels sprouts and salad were fire too. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

I'll admit Doris Metropolitan was not on my list of places to try in New Orleans, but now that I've been there I can't stop talking about it! My good friends and I went here for a Holiday Meal and reservations were a must have as they were super popular! We were sat outside in their patio area, where it was quite spacious. They were careful to not overfill the tables so everyone can have the best experience. Our waitress was absolutely fabulous with so much personality and knowledge. She quite literally knew everything about the menu, how everything was prepared, and could accommodate all your requests! Top notch for sure! Then there was the food! We got a couple of appetizers to start, the Eggplant and the Tuna Tartare. Both were very shareable and combined with the complimentary bread were perfect! At that point we were already getting full but went forward with the main courses anyways! I got the Hangar Steak with Mushroom Ragu, Medium well. And for someone who doesn't eat a lot of meat, I was very impressed by the flavors! For sides we got the brussel sprouts and truffle fries. The truffle fries did it for me with the perfect crisp texture and good amount of truffle. For dessert, we went with the Tiramisu. Now that was an experience! Other places have their Banana Foster, Doris Metropolitan has their Tiramisu! It was a presentation coming out as a chocolate dome and then melting away in to the Tiramisu beneath. 100% recommend trying this place out at least once!

    Classified cut with root purée

My wife loved her steak! I am probably wrong about this, but I kinda think steak is a guy thing. Let me at least say it is in my house. I like steak, my wife likes me, we go eat steak at restaurants. When we go my wife will typically not order steak. This night however, was different. I was nervous. She ordered the classified cut. What is it? Well, I could tell you, but then I would have to, well you know. I ordered the dry aged bone in strip my usual. Here is the thing, when the food came, and I watched as she took her first bite with bated breath, she looked over and said "well it's about time I got a really good steak."Holy crap! Mikey likes it. Wow, was she right. My steak was good, hers was great. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. I have noticed at these nicer steak restaurants you might want to order your temp one level more done, especially, if you don't like steaks on the more red side. We do like ours a bit more red so we are usually happy with the temp. We also ordered a dessert called a Bonaparte that was delicious. It was a kinda like a napoleon. It was phyllo dough, a whipped cream interior that was very tasty and had a raspberry sauce. We didn't know this but when you sit down they bring a bread plate and fancy butters. We especially liked the onion bread with za'atar butter, but all of them were good and there is a lot of it. We sat in the courtyard, and it was hot that day, but we were comfortable. I will say the music was a bit loud, and our waiter offered to turn it down because he and us were having trouble hearing each other. He did turn it down, that lasted about 5 minutes but then someone set it back to stun. A minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things. That brings us to our waiter. What a fine fellow. He was super accommodating. He was very down to earth and even though this place was on the higher end of places to eat he was never snooty or uptight. I mean this is the French quarter after all in the big easy. Everyone relax and let it flow. What a great night. My wife finally ate a steak she enjoyed. I think we are coming back next month and I am getting the classified cut.

We had an amazing time here! Came for a nice dinner during our friend's bachelorette trip. This place is pricey but worth it - you get what you pay for. The entire space is beautiful - I love that you can see the dry aged meats when you walk in. We were seated in the courtyard, which was lovely. The service was top tier. Our server Bobby was phenomenal and gave us some treats on the house to celebrate our friend. He let us take our time but we never had to look for him. My friend also decided to try a different temperature of steak for the first time and didn't like it -- they didn't hesitate to cook her meat a little more for her. The food and drinks were delicious and fresh. Even the complimentary bread was great! Our cocktails were flavorful with good liquor content - the espresso martini was especially yummy. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were great too. The only thing we didn't love was the tiramisu - the whiskey glaze was a little too strong and overpowered the taste of the dessert. Will absolutely be back the next time I'm in the city!

    The best Carpaccio EVER!!
    Jamie B.

Believe the hype, this place is the best steakhouse in the city. Followed closely by Chop House and Dickie Brennans. They start you off with a bread trio and a butter trio. The sesame seed bread was probably my least favorite of the 3 but we did inhale all of it, it does not mean it was not good, just less good. That butter was amazing, I liked the garlic butter best. Then there was an olive oil dip on the table as well. This carb and olive oil girl was certainly in heaven with this to start and it was all technically complimentary! For apps we ordered the Carpaccio. This was really the greatest Carpaccio I have ever had. Prior to this, my #1 was at Chop House. This one is so much more than just raw meat. They add an array of amazing flavors that I am still thinking about 2 months later. They had cheese on top, a Parmigiano-Reggiano and then they add balsamic vinegar balls. I was digging around this dish to figure out what it was, I had to ask the waiter. He explained they make the balsamic balls in house and it just adds bursting flavors to the dish. The dish also had baby arugula as well as jalapeno. It didn't really need those last two ingredients but this is something I will have to order the next time I go here. Then for entrees, steaks of course. I got the tenderloin; it comes with bone marrow which it a nice value. I did give it to my hubby since he loves bone marrow more than me. Service was incredible. They have a cute outdoor courtyard like more NOLA restaurants have. It's located in the French Quarter so off-street parking. There is a meat section, hanging meat, you can purchase if you don't want to dine in. And they have a HH Mon to Thur.

First class service! Beautiful old school steakhouse in NOLO. Wine excellent, cocktails delicious. The bread & flavored butters could have been our meal. We ordered mussels. Steaks, Brussel sprouts. Everything was perfect . I would return in a second. There is a dress code.

We had the best time at Doris Metropolitan for my friends 40th bday dinner. The service was a 10 out of 10. We had a late reservation so the vibes and music were a little up beat, which we loved. No party, just nice music, good wine, good food, and great service. Please try the octopus appetizer, I've never had anything like it in my life! It was amazing!

    Falls off the bone
    Angie D.

We had an enjoyable meal at Doris. They are extremely expensive so certainly not something we can do often, but for special occasions it's worth it. The inside is lovely, I'm pretty sure we sat in the courtyard but it was hard to tell for sure because I think it's covered for winter, very comfortable regardless. The wine selection is very large although we opted for Dirty Martinis which were on point. We had the charcuterie board plus cheese, it was a large amount of meats and cheeses and delicious. Oh I must talk about the bread! Three flavors one with onion that was decadent. For dinner I had Falls off the bone, so very tender and full of flavor, I actually ate the whole thing. Service was very good too.

Everything here is high end but if you are out celebrating something, it's the place to be. The service is over the top - never wanted for anything. The food is BEYOND AMAZING. You will pay for this experience but if you are in NOLA, it is worth every cent. Judge for yourself w/ my pics.

I've been coming in a lot more recently! The staff treat my friends and I with respect and kindness. They are always sure to make each trip special. As you can see in the video of the Prawns and Polenta they bring extra flare and flavor to the table! The atmosphere is lively but with intimate seating. Also Mai is awesome!!

Great service, 10/10! The food was so great. It was our first time and definitely will not be our last! The wagyu was cooked to perfection. Ambiance was romantic but "chill"!

In town for the essence festival, my friends insisted that we go to the Doris Metropolitan and I have never heard of it before and I've been to New Orleans more times than I can count. It was amazing evening, the restaurant is laid out and way that feels spacious and almost feels like private dining rooms. The service was phenomenal the owner the weight staff were all attentive and engaged. Our server pointed out the specials answered all of our questions.. I had the spring moon cocktail which was a satisfying combination of citrus, lychee, rose, elderflower, and vodka. For dinner, I had truffle fries and the classified cut with the root purée and grilled asparagus. My steak was cooked, medium and It was delicious. It was mouthwatering the right touch of seasoned and grilled just right with a touch of char on the outside It was cooked to perfection.

Needless to say, this wouldn't be suitable for anyone who isn't comfortable with that kind of artwork. This place advertises burlesque shows and "Shibari", however I did not see any of that during my visit. I do not dock points though because I'm certain there's a schedule that shows when these events occur. If you're interested in seeing one, best to make sure when they're taking place. There are security cameras all over the bar so this location can remain sex-positive and safe for guests. After ordering myself a drink, I chose to relax in their bright pink room with the large bean bag and teddy bear. This was my favorite spot for its light-hearted and playful atmosphere, although the room next to it was pretty exciting as well--with its black-and-white paintings of kinky exhibitionists. During my visit, I noticed that there was a collection of leftover glasses from previous guests. Since it was a slow Sunday night, I thought there would've been ample time for an employee to clean up that area beforehand. There was one barista that night, and while she was kind and made excellent cocktails, her voice was really low--making it difficult to hear her over the music. I'm glad the bar was empty, or else I may have not been able to hear her properly. Aside from those minor concerns with cleanliness and communication, I'd still say to give Fetiche Nola a shot if you're looking for a unique place to start off a long night of partying. We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed.
