Rene took great care of us. Dinner starts off with loafs of freshly baked bread and butter. The restaurant is a refreshing spot to runaway from bourbon street. Lovely decor and beautiful chandelier. The petit steak was great. The truffle Mac & cheese was hands down my favorite.

Blitzens Holiday Pop Up not typical rib room material here: We noticed the gorgeous holiday décor the night before from our balcony table at Royal House Oyster Bar and decided to pop in before our Mr. B's Bistro reservation on Thanksgiving Day around 5pm for a quick Christmas happy hour treat. We lucked out and snagged the last two seats at what turned out to be Blitzen's Christmas pop up bar! The host was incredibly kind and proactive, she even asked a gentleman if he was using a nearby stool so we could sit. You don't always see that level of care for bar guests, and she did the same for the couple after us, which really impressed us. Charlotte was our server, and she was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of the festive menu. She handed us the elaborate Blitzen drink list, and she made what my boyfriend said was the best Old Fashioned he has ever had, they called it The Blitzen. My drink was beautiful, and even our waters came with Christmas straws, which I loved. Next time, I think I'll go for the Va Va Vixen instead of the Sleigh Ride, but everything was wonderfully themed. We actually tried to return after dinner, but they had already wrapped up last call before 10pm. Still, our first visit was such a fun and cozy holiday surprise. Highly recommend if you're looking for festive cocktails and warm, attentive service!

Lovely time at the Rib Room in the beautiful Omni Royal Hotel. I really enjoyed the ambience and the architecture of the entire building. The food was fabulous. The service was great and it was just a fabulous meal all around. We really wanted prime rib and we definitely got our craving satisfied.

We decided to give Blitzens Bar another chance this Holiday season as our experience last year wasn't the best. This time, the bar seemed to be running a lot more smoothly even with a big crowd. The drinks were expertly crafted and I am going back for that martini before the holiday menu ends on Jan 4th. Holiday vibes were great!

I am local and in new orleans for 8 years, been to many great restaurants, local, forbes star, michelin star restaurant even steak house always with my friends and got accomodated with my vegetarian diet since i am vegetarian and i understand i don't have too many choices but expect 1 entree as vegetarian. Since as a casual/fine dinning restaurant that is a standard which every restaurant must have or should offer. I have been in hospitality industry for too long worked with some high end restaurants and hotels. Went on friday 12th around 9:15 as a walkin it was my friends birthday and he was hungry and he does eat steak got greated by Hostess and they even sang happy birthday for my friend and that was very impressive and i thought we are having a very good start. Got sat and greeted by a lady waiter and i asked her about the menu revillion if they have any vegetarian choice she said no and did not have enough knowledge about menu as she was reading the menu infront of us. I asked her if i can order a la carte vegetarian any appetizer+ soup/salad+ maincourse she was lost and tells me which i have never heard in my life waitress said to me" IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO COME TO RIB ROOM" me and my friend was shocked that she just said that. I ignored and we ordered two cocktails my friend ordered turtle soup and i ordered fried green tomato as a veg appetizer it came out on time but served with pork belly when it arrived the waitress said " i'm sorry i forgot to tell you that it comes with meat" sent back came out later after my friend finished his turtle soup and came out plain no sauce nothing, worst fried green tomato ever had as i am from here and i had it in many place. She din't even bother to check with kitchen if they can make any sauted veggies or any entree while i can see they have side pasta, veg and cream spinach and for me money is never a issue i can even pay $50 if any restaurant can make any maincourse for me. My friend ordered NY STRIP and i ordered broccolini and side truffle mac and cheese. Food was amazing i liked the sides my friend enjoyed the steak but it does not come with any sides. . At 10:15 i asked for dessert menu she said "we do not have much to offer on dessert we only have cheese cake and kitchen is close anyways" while i can see other tables are getting all fancy dessert and i have seen dessert menu online too before i came. Our experience was horrible and my friend was upset too he felt bad for me that i couldn't eat anything i always order 4 round of drinks with my app, salad/soup, mains and dessert but decided not to order anything from here anymore as it clearly shows waitress don't care about her job neither the sales of the restaurant. I meet lot of people specially foodies and i would never recommend anyone to come to this restaurant.

    Fried oyster deviled eggs

We returned to see what was new at the Rib Room. We sat at the bar, and after taking a quick glance at the appetizers, I immediately decided on the fried oyster deviled eggs and a glass of chardonnay to go along with it. I understand that I can get pretty excited over food, but I cannot stop thinking about these deviled eggs. The cajun fried oysters had the perfect crunch with a tender center, neatly packed on top of the deviled eggs with pickled peppers. A nice surprise was the band playing near the bar. The gentleman on the upright double bass goes by Sugar Bear! Eric Robinson was on the electric and acoustic guitar. All of their instruments were beautifully crafted. I am sorry that I didn't get the drummer's name. Rib Room is located on the main level of Omni Royal. As a guest of Omni, you will benefit from free drink tickets to use at Rib Room which is nice. We have yet to dine in for an entree and unsure why not, especially since the menu has yet to disappoint. Next time.

From the time that we walked in the service was superior. The hostess remembered us from when we walked by to look at the menu earlier in the day. The staff was very attentive and kept the drinks and water filled and checked in on us regularly. The food... amazing... the had fresh bread warm and so soft and we settled on a Caesar salad prime rib end cut, loaded baked potato and the garlic broccoli. Everything was cooked perfectly, great flavor, and presentation was spot on. I recommend this place if looking for a non New Orleans traditional meal.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

Now I'm sure the hostess is accustom to people bringing in their pets and lying that they're service dogs, so she told me that we had to sit outside. That's obviously illegal, we got the manager involved, the manager quickly understood that we weren't bringing a pet and got us sat inside. We ordered drinks, they took a long time to come out. I asked the grade of the Wagyu on the Manhattan steak, and the server told me it was "6 or 12 or something" Wagyu obviously comes A1-A5, so I asked him to go check. He came back and said it was A5. Not knowing Wagyu grades, and the drinks taking a while was the only place the service was lacking, he was otherwise delightful. $70 bucks seemed kind inexpensive for an A5, but I had never actually had one before so I ordered it medium rare. We ordered the seafood platter, that was fine, the breading on the shrimp was kinda soggy. Main courses comes out, and my medium rare steak was literally back black and blue. It was still cold in the center. I'm not one to send food back, but I couldn't eat it. Sent it back. It comes back quickly... too quickly, still way under cooked. Sent it back a 3rd time. At that point the rest of my family was done eating and I asked for it to just be removed instead. Which they did, and they boxed it up for me anyway in addition to comping all of our drinks, which was of course very nice. I ended up eating that steak for lunch the next day, and IF it was Wagyu, it was A1, there is a 0% chance that had the marbling to be an A5, I've had prime New York's from CostCo that had better marbling. So I give them 2 stars, the server had some learning to do, been there, but was very nice. They made up for their errors on the bill, I appreciate that, but we still went there with higher expectations. 2 stars is kind.

From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. A thoroughly satisfying experience from start to finish.

That's clearly communicated when you're greeted, so naturally it sets the expectation for shareable portions. We started with the ricotta and meatballs. Overall, portions felt on the smaller side, but the ricotta, especially at $18, was honestly a bit shocking in size. When we asked about it, a server jokingly said "inflation." I get it, but still. The two guys I dined with come here often and were actually the ones pointing out that portions have seemed to shrink. For mains, we each ordered a pasta. One was a server recommended agnolotti with crab, corn, and roe. It was decent, but the broth felt a bit too loose and could've used more depth and richness. That said, the crab portion was generous, the pesto was great, and the red sauce pasta was solid. We also ordered two pizzas, hands down the highlight of the meal. Easily the best thing we had. One small but off putting detail, the red pepper flakes were served in an open jar rather than a shaker. It made me question how many hands had been in it, especially since it appeared to have been reused from another table. Not the most sanitary presentation. Dessert was a strong finish. Panna cotta, tiramisu, and olive oil cake were all fresh and delicious. Drinks included a cocktail for me and beers plus an espresso martini for the table, all fine. Service wise, things started okay but felt rushed toward the end. We even mentioned we were still picking at food and what seemed to be a manager still cleared plates from the table. The tables themselves are also very small, which doesn't help when you're doing family style dining. Our server appeared to be training someone but never introduced them, which made things feel a bit awkward. Also, when resetting silverware, it felt rushed and a little careless, almost tossed onto the table rather than placed. Overall, the experience was good but not great. The food had its highlights, but portion sizes versus price and some service missteps held it back. 6/10, and honestly it reminded me why I hadn't felt the urge to come back before.

As for recommendations that you must try when you go, the crab au gratin was one of the best dishes I've ever had!!! I shared a bite with those at my table and every person just had that look of pure bliss on their face (like the food critic in Ratatouille after he took the first bite).
