I had the beet salad, a GF pizza and a GF pasta and everything was delicious and well cooked. Highly recommend the short rib pasta dish!

Arriving late into NoLa on a cold Sunday night and my buddy and I wanted to grab a quick dinner but most of the NoLa resturants I had marked were closing at 9pm. Sofia was open til 10pm so we popped in there around 8:30pm. Glad we did, as we were one of the last parties taken as they decided to close a little early. We split a pizza called The Spicy ($24) which was absolutely great. We almost got the marghareta and I wish we would have since the crust and cheese were perfect it really didn't even need any toppings. We wanted a protein so split the short rib pasta ($30) which we were a little less than impressed with. Again, the noodles were excellent but the dish just seemed to be a saucy mess overall. Didn't love the unexpected 4% kitchen appreciation fee on my check but I will say the service was good and I'd come back here regardless.

Shrimp Toast

I only gave this place a 4-star review because the pasta was bland for my taste and the complimentary birthday dessert was soooo dry, I could've been eating chalk with icing for less sugar :/ anyways, everything else that hit the table was firrrrreeeee! That shrimp toast is an absolute must! The bread was sooooo soft and delicious! The shrimp was so perfect, and ghe little garnishment on the top was a nice touch. It was great and I will be back for that appetizer specifically! The pizza was also really good! It does have a bunch of crust, but it's soft and not tough like some dough can be. Unfortunately, they pesto pasta was missing something (other than protein lol). It was missing a flavor (other than pesto). I couldn't eat much of it. Also, they gave me a complimentary birthday cake and lit the candle! It was such a nice gesture! I hate to admit it, but that cake wasn't good at all. But hey, it was free! They have ice cream from Creole Creamery on their dessert menu, and you get two scoops. The ice cream, of course, was really good. As for decor, this place is a beautiful spot to celebrate any occasion or to have a nice dinner. I'll definitely be back! Especially because they waiter was super attentive and friendly! My glass of water barely got low before she brought me another glass. She went above and beyond! I can't remember her name though...smh

Solid Italian spot. Visited this place once when it opened years ago, and again this week. It has definitely improved! Everything we had tasted well, from the kale salad to the mushroom pizza (sub red sauce base!) to the two plates of pasta we sampled. Everything is served family style, so be prepared to share!

The food and service are perfection! We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sofia. We had a pizza and pasta dish and it was plenty for 2 to share.

Outstanding service! I came here with a large party during Mardi Gras and our waiter was super attentive with excellent communication. Our riders were taken and received very promptly. The food was good, I would recommend the Bianca pizza. The touch of rosemary is outstanding and definitely makes the pizza. All the other was good was just okay to me. The focaccia that comes with the ricotta is outstanding but the ricotta itself was bland in my opinion. A few people at my table ordered the vodka pasta and gave it a 10/10 though.

Sophia's was by FAR my favorite restaurant in my trip to New Orleans. It's a nice break from the classic creole foods! We ordered 3 dishes for 2 and still had some left overs! Ambiance and decor are great especially with the large pizza oven in the corner! What we ordered: - Margarita Pizza (5/5) - a thin crust simple but well done pizza! It was great but just not a stand out compared to the other items. - Kale Beet Salad (6/5) - INSANELY GOOD salad oh my goodness!! I don't even love beets but I think I do now? The kale was soft, shredded well, cheese was shaved thin and beets were soft. The apple dressing was also DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. - Pesto Pasta (6/5) - ALSO DELICIOUS! I love a good pesto and this did NOT disappoint! It's nutty, rich, and herby. The pasta shape is fun and carries all that cheese and sauce so well. I will 100% recommend my friends to come to Sophia and will return when I'm back in NOLA.

Really enjoyed the food and vibes here. My only regret is not having time to eat here again during my visity to New Orleans! Next time. Note that it's walking distance from the convention center on a street with cool establishments to peek in to on the way. Also note, a seat at the bar in the back allows you a view of the chefs making pizza from scratch. The restaurant has a Sofia Lauren theme although I forget what connection the owners have to her. Anyway, try the shrimp! (See pic.)

These were two apps that were delicious. The beet salad was refreshing with a vinaigrette and salty from the walnuts. Service was a little slow but it was peak hours. Ambiance was romantic and cozy. Definitely would return.

Hours of operation clearly stated on their webpage.

I've experienced repeatedly horrible customer service with a condescending attitude - details below . . . . I arrived for lunch 20 minutes before their advertised (on the door) 3 PM closing-time (to prepare for dinner) - waiters were still taking orders from tables (some recently seated) - so, I clearly was in time to be seated. After waiting over 5 minutes at the abandoned hostess stand, a lady walked up to me and said that they were still serving, but I would have to sit at the bar, which I said I could not because I needed a chair with a back and noted there were lots of empty tables and, again, waiters were still taking orders from recently seated diners and, according to the clock, they were still open as advertised - I said I knew what I wanted and could order immediately upon being seated or, if needed, right there and then -- she said she'd have to ask the manager about not sitting at the bar and then left. The manager appeared five minutes later (pushing us closer to 3:00 PM through no fault of mine) and told me (before I could utter a word) that the restaurant "was closed to prepare for dinner" (it was still before 3PM mind you) with a wildly condescending smile on her face while wholly avoiding eye contact with me (she was putting up menus) - I told her (actually, mostly to the back of her head) that I was confused because I not only arrived in time as advertised on their door and had waited now for almost 10 minutes, but it was still before 3PM -- I'd been made to wait, waiters were still taking orders, and her employee had just told me they were open - I tried to explain that I could order quickly, but I was told I had to sit at the bar, which I could not do because I needed a chair with a back -- she continued the condescending smile while avoiding eye contact, refused to speak to me, and walked away. I note that this is not the first wildly bad customer-service experience (full of apparent lies) I have had there. The first was over Mardi Gras a couple of months ago. We were seated outside, because we were told nothing was available inside despite seeing a couple of empty tables --- after the third person harrassed us by walking up to our outside table (immediately next to the door mind you) begging for food and/or money, I asked the waiter if it would be okay to sit at one of the empty tables I saw inside. He said he would ask - then, about 20 minutes (and more harrassment) later when he did/had not responded (though having visited the table since), I asked again and was told (after he again asked the same manager), that there were "no tables." Hot on the heels of that obvious lie, two separate sets of diners walked in off of the street and said to the same hostess (within earshot of me) that they "had no reservations" and wanted to be seated and then were seated at the empty tables I'd just requested. I then asked the hostess why we had been refused one of those tables when I indicated that I would gladly pay and tip the waiter outside and then they could just bring the food we had ordered to the new table inside and I also gladly would pay and tip the waiter inside - to avoid being harassed multiple times by people begging for food and money in front of their front door mind you. I got the same condescending smile with no eye contact. So, I will never darken the door of this place again. I suggest you do not either based on my experiences. And, if you do, I hope you are treated better than I was - TWICE. This place has good food, but it's not cheap, and there are lots of places with good food that hopefully will not treat you like they treated me on more than one occasion for simply asking for something not out of the ordinary and apparently available.

What a gem of a find! My coworker and I stumbled upon Sofia after reading the positive reviews while we were craving pizza. I'm so glad I found this restaurant as we've come back a couple of times since and it's quickly becoming a local favorite of mine. PRO TIP: When at all possible, make a reservation! If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait any day of the week. The atmosphere of Sophia is always busy and bustling without being incredibly overwhelming. I love the cool, casual feel of the restaurant and the larger group tables are perfect for catching up with friends over some delicious Italian food. My first experience here there were only bar seats available and that was a great experience as well. Here are some of the dishes I've tried: - Polpette: pork | brisket | pancetta | amatriciana | parmesan - Arancini: taleggio | truffle | black pepper | pecorino fonduta - Piccante: san marzano tomato | pepperoni | hot peppers | ricotta | crispy kale | honey | pecorino - Ragu: tagliatelle | duck | white wine | thyme | lemon zest - Bruxelles: brussel sprouts | caesar | pecorino | black pepper - Kale: beets | parmesan | hazelnuts | apple shrub vinaigrette My absolute favorite, favorite thing here and the reason why you MUST dine here is the Piccante pizza. It is phenomenal. However, I will warn you that I've had this pizza when it was cooked perfectly and also when it was not the best -- perhaps based on your luck? It will be either the best thing you've ever eaten or you will think I'm a bit crazy for rating this pizza so high. The combination of flavors, the roasted kale, the contrast of spicy, tart, sweet --- to die for! A close second favorite is the duck Ragu. It is such a unique medley of flavors in a pasta dish you would not expect. Definitely worth a try! Service here seems to be a hit-or-miss and I've not once been blown away by the service. However, the food is worth it. Definitely worth a visit!

This was THE best place my friends and I tried while visiting NOLA from Los Angeles. The food and appetizers were fabulous. The toast and cheese was so good, my friends and I joked how we hope we can find something even close in LA. The salad was also so well dressed and zesty. All our mains were fire as well. Waitstaff were sweet and attentive. Would absolutely recommend this place, especially if you're visiting from out of town!

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! Sofia is a modern Italian that never disappoints. I'd recommend getting reservations because it is usually busy. My favorite dish is the alla vodka, but the pesto pasta is amazing too! I need to try their pizza as well. I sat next to the kitchen and witnessed for myself the fresh and quality ingredients they use. The restaurant is pretty open with plenty of seating. They also have sidewalk seating outside. The service is always excellent, helpful, and friendly! Will be back!

I didn’t see any tables outside. No one was being waited on outside the night I went.

What kind of gluten free crust do they use? It is dairy free also?

Do I need to book a table for 6 or could we walk in?

You should definitely book a reservation or go very early. They fill up quickly!

The historic space is beautiful and provided excellent flow at my daughter's wedding. The food was exquisite. And I simply can't say enough about Rylan, Millie, Hana and the rest of the staff at Latrobe's. Their professionalism, their attention to detail, their care and patience - all are unmatched. We did not hire a wedding planner and now, knowing just how much work is involved in planning a wedding, I think we simply couldn't have done it without their guidance and tips, which they provided even for events beyond the wedding and their scope of work. The whole event ran so smoothly that I was worry-free and thoroughly able to enjoy the wedding myself. And the rave reviews from the guests (as well as from participating vendors!) prove just how exceptional Latrobe's is.

Giving our guests a real taste of New Orleans was incredibly important. If our guests did nothing else during their trip, we wanted them to feel like they had an experience unique to the city. Latrobe's definitely helped us achieve that. From the beautiful courtyard complete with burning gas lamps, to the grand banking room, to the wonderful food selection of delicious regional delicacies. Many of our guests told us that they felt they had been transported back in time. That it was the best, most unique wedding they had ever attended - and with the best food! Lastly, the team at Latrobe's is incredible - I actually miss talking to them every week! (LOL) Rylan, Hana, and Millie are the best. Wedding at Marché - Outstanding Experience As the mother of…read morethe bride and overall wedding planner, I highly recommend this venue. My daughter and her fiancé did a detailed search for just the right wedding venue to meet their needs. We booked Marché about six months in advance after visiting multiple venues, and it quickly stood out. The planning process can be tedious and tricky, but their Special Events Operations Manager, Wallace, was truly exceptional. He is the primary reason we chose Marché and, ultimately, the reason our wedding day was such a success. Why we chose Marché: * Excellent French Quarter location * Beautiful views from multiple balconies * Great layout for ceremony, dining, and dancing * Incredible, authentic New Orleans food * Excellent value for the price * Wallace's professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond What impressed us most after the wedding: * The tasting was extremely helpful in finalizing food and drink selections * We were able to customize ceremony and dining layouts to fit our vision * Time allotted for both ceremony and reception was more than adequate * Food was outstanding and widely praised by guests * Bartenders made great drinks and happily accommodated requests * Wine, liquor, and beer selections were very good * The "flip" from ceremony to dance space was executed flawlessly--fast, organized, and exactly as planned Guest feedback: * The staff welcomed our guests with enthusiasm and excitement. They made everyone feel welcome. * We received countless compliments, with many saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended * Guests loved the food, drinks, and smooth flow from dining to dancing Helpful recommendations: * Take full advantage of the balconies--we threw beads to guests waiting in Dutch Alley before the second line, which was a highlight * Have champagne passed as guests arrive to set a celebratory tone * Do not overdecorate the ceremony room--the chandeliers, floors, windows, and lighting are already stunning * Encourage guests to use the balconies at night; the views are amazing (our cigar bar was a big hit) * Highly recommend a second line--it creates a fantastic guest experience and allows time for reception setup * A separate "day-of" coordinator is unnecessary if you are organized--Wallace and his team handle everything seamlessly One small negative (for transparency): Our assigned salesperson was slow to respond to emails, and her in-person communication style was abrupt. However, this did not impact the success of our wedding and should not discourage anyone from choosing Marché. Overall, Creole Cuisine Company and its employees are consistently professional and hospitable at all levels of leadership and staff. Planning tip: Carefully review the food and beverage brochure and ask detailed pricing questions. We created a spreadsheet to track costs and maximize value. Be sure to ask about reduced pricing for minors and vendors. Final note: Wallace is a true gem--kind, positive, respectful, and incredibly attentive. Because of his leadership, the entire team operates at the highest level. Not a single guest needed anything all night, and the bride and groom were truly taken care of. Marché delivered an unforgettable wedding experience, and we recommend it without hesitation.

This venue held special meaning for us, as my wife and I had our rehearsal dinner here in 1994 when it was known as Bella Luna. We were excited about the possibility of celebrating another milestone here during French Quarter Fest weekend next year. During the tour, Monica informed us that the couple who had previously booked that date had just released it due to the festival conflict -- and that we were now first in line. She stated clearly, in front of all four of us, that we would have a 48-hour right of first refusal if anyone else inquired about the date. She also said the venue had held weddings during FQF in the past, and although they didn't host one this year (2025), there was no indication that it wouldn't be possible for 2026. We asked follow-up questions about vendor access (band and florist) that day and have a three-week email chain (including phone and voicemail records) showing our ongoing communications. Despite that, and after repeated attempts to get confirmation, we finally received an email on Monday, July 14 -- more than three weeks later -- informing us the date was no longer available. Monica had apparently allowed someone else to book it. When we called her, her response was, "You don't have anything in writing that I promised you that date," a line she repeated more than once. The real disappointment isn't just losing the venue -- it's the lack of professionalism and courtesy in how the situation was handled. Had Monica communicated more openly or honestly, we wouldn't have lost three critical weeks during peak wedding season. We are now struggling to find an acceptable alternative under significant time pressure. This experience has left us deeply frustrated and disheartened, especially given our personal history with this location. We hope Management, Steven Lewy, at Creole Cuisine takes steps to improve transparency and communication with future clients -- no couple planning a wedding deserves to be treated this way.

Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.
