Had an absolutely delicious meal at Domenica over the weekend. Started with bread, the shrimp and meatballs for apps and had the Carne pizza and Rigatoni for mains. So dang good! Their cocktails were top notch. So fun ending our evening at the Sazerac bar! Our server was lovely! Very attentive and great energy
A beautiful Italian restaurant with good food. Highlight of the meal? Our waitress Heather. She was spunky, warm, and absolutely made our evening more enjoyable, sharing great vibes with the whole restaurant!
The ambience here is great and the service was really nice, however when it came to the actual meal we were pretty disappointed. For almost $30 this was a letdown with flavor and texture. The sauce is extremely fishy and had almost no flavor otherwise. We had to add salt and pepper to make it better. We both didn't finish our meals and would've sent it back if we didn't come in starving. Maybe there's something better on the menu but this was not it
Attached to The Roosevelt Hotel. I ordered a Bacardi and Coke. What they gave me was colored water. I couldn't even drink it. The ribeye and potatoes were cooked well and tasty. Not the best ever but good, I then had a Banana parfait style dessert that was a beautiful presentation. It was very sweet but it was good. The service was quick but not friendly at all. I will try it again to see if I have a different experience on my next visit.
Very upscale Italian restaurant FOOD: Delicious but very rich and filling. I had their lasagna and it was very unique, it wasn't your traditional lasagna as the pasta noodles were green and it had some other unique flavors going on but we liked it. AMBIANCE: The perfect ambience really. I can't stand going to a restaurant for dinner and it is bright lighting but this was absolutely perfect. Not too light and not dark. The perfect in between. Music was nice and appropriate and the interior decor was very upscale. Like if I was to ever to open a restaurant this decor would be my inspiration. ENTERTAINMENT: N/A SERVICE: Great service from our waiter and other staff floating in the area. The receptionist/hostess are is nice but the hostesses themselves could be a bit more welcoming. DRESS CODE: Business casual to smart casual. Having eaten at this restaurant many times over many years, as a local, I've sat at the bar and I've sat in groups at the dinner table. The service is always excellent and last night was no exception, or maybe it was an exception because our service was outstanding. Leah was our server and she was just absolutely phenomenal. Two of the members of my dinner party actually recommended that she should be training other servers because of her professional demeanor. Everybody enjoyed their food. The roasted cauliflower with the whipped feta is still all it is, which is absolutely outstanding. My pasta was delicious. Everybody enjoyed their pizzas and other pasta dishes. It was just a lovely night made more special by Leah. Thank you!
Came here for their pizza happy hour. Even though it doesn't say it anywhere, it truly is half off pizzas and drinks. Came here as a solo diner and the pizza is definitely big enough to share for two people but at that price, might as well get one each. They were flavorful and delicious. The servers were so nice and friendly. The place would be awesome to come with a few friends or a date. Great service and would come back!
This was definitely a disappointing dinner due to the food. Service is wonderful and no fault to them, but an overly salted chicken and inedible fishy shrimp was terrible. The appetizer cauliflower was tasty, but super awkward to cut since it is served whole. A salad looked brown and I didn't eat it. With all of the choices in the area I definitely would not dine here again.
I had a special dinner here to conclude a group trip to New Orleans and it was a fantastic dinning experience. Let me start by saying that I'm not a big Italian food person. Mostly since there aren't usually a lot of vegan options, but there were enough here that I had options! I ended up having the rigatoni without cheese and although it's simple, it was delicious and quite similar to pasta that I had in Florence, Italy! It paired nicely with the French Pinot noir we had for the table. Our server was so classy and attentive and made sure everything was perfect. We always had fresh water and he poured the wine for us. He even surprised the birthday girl with a delicious dessert! The ambiance is one of the best parts too. It's beautifully decorated with dim lights, art and a super fancy bathroom. This is the perfect place for a special occasion dinner! The only thing I can think to recommend would be bread for the table.
The service was excellent and we were seated right away in a packed out restaurant. The pizza was good! Salads were fresh! I enjoyed the dim lights and atmosphere which is perfect for a date night! Yes, I recommend this place, cheers!
The ambiance of this restaurant is beautiful. I try to make it a point to go during the holidays because of the beautiful display in the connected Roosevelt hotel. The happy hour is the time to go. It's half off pizzas, wine, spritzes, etc. Definitely worth the money. My daughter says their Margherita pizza is her favorite ever! The drinks were delicious. We had the Margherita, tutto carne, and white pizza. All were good but the white was my favorite. The charcuterie was not worth the $30. Everything else was great! Service is always good. Will definitely be back!
After a long day, my wife and I wanted to stop somewhere before we headed to our room. This place looked interesting earlier in the day while we were exploring so this was our stop. They are not association with the Roosevelt hotel in anyway. They have a fairly simple menu with a good wine list. We decided on the Calabrase pizza along with a Negroni. My wife enjoyed their iced tea. We also had their bread service. Sitting at the bar, we enjoyed ourselves chatting with our bartender. All in all two thumbs up!
Really great upscale Italian restaurant in downtown New Orleans. It's located adjacent to the Roosevelt hotel. Great spot for a girls dinner or a date night. Because it's busy, I will say our service was a bit slow at first. However, once we ordered the food came out relatively quickly! I loved the cocktail I ordered, and the whole table loved the roasted cauliflower and whipped feta appetizer. I had the tagliatelle for my entree and it was amazing as well. Prices were a bit high, but to be expected for a nicer restaurant in downtown New Orleans. Overall great place for a fancy Italian meal!

Came in with my 7-year-old for a dad-daughter dinner and sat at the bar. The pepperoni pizza came out of the wood oven with a perfect charred crust, and the roasted cauliflower with whipped feta was the surprise star of the night for me. She finished with the mint chocolate chip gelato and was thrilled. Michael handled the bar and took great care of us. Attentive without hovering, and great with a kid at the table. My wife and I stayed at The Roosevelt Hotel for five nights in early September, and we had the pleasure of visiting Domenica, conveniently located in the main hotel foyer, on three different occasions. Twice for happy hour and once for a full dinner. Every visit was a wonderful experience. The food was consistently delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was exceptional. We sat at the bar each time and were taken care of by Conner and Michael during our visits. Both were incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and they made some excellent recommendations that really added to our experience. The pizzas and housemade charcuterie were particular standouts and are definitely a must-order. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared, and both made for great choices whether you're stopping in for happy hour or having a full dinner. What stood out most was how genuinely welcoming the entire team was. Everyone seemed to truly enjoy what they were doing and took pride in making sure guests were well taken care of. That kind of genuine hospitality can make a big difference, especially when you're staying at a hotel and looking for a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. The happy hour at Domenica is also a fantastic value, with great food and drinks at very reasonable prices. If you're staying at The Roosevelt or simply in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping in and taking advantage of it. Overall, Domenica became one of our favorite spots during our stay. Between the excellent service, great food, welcoming atmosphere, and terrific happy hour, we had a consistently enjoyable experience every time we visited. Service didn't disappoint on par of what i was expecting. The food was a mixed bag of good or bad. The bad, pizza and speghetti . My 7 year old had one piece and didn't want to eat it. Just cheese pizza. Of course we already ordered one for us and yea agree. No sauce, super thin crust and just a lack of good pizza flavor. Had the white and added prosciutto. Won't be going for pizza here. Speghetti also had an odd flavor which the kids not I enjoyed. Kind of like vinegar. The tagliatelle though was amazing. The sauce was spot on just a little too frugal with it. The truffle was a great mix and just the whole dish was a balance of savory umami. Would love to see a protein with it though. Tried the meat and cheeses which were fantastic as well with the accompaniments and fried bread. I really enjoyed the chicken patte. The prosciutto was good nothing exciting. The bresaola was ok. The matru, bocconcino, and Harbison were all good. Of all the desserts tried the lemon sorbet was best but thats from brocatos. One of my fav places. The banana cake was not bad. Liked how it wasn't that sweet if you don't eat the brittle. The chocolate coconut didn't care for because of the hazelnuts. Will have to try another pasta to see if they match the deliciousness of the tagliatelle. read more

I stopped in while I was in town for Jazz Fest and needless to say it was very busy. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and still somewhat casual. I sat at the bar and I believe that they have the friendliest bartender around, really everyone was great and that's a huge compliment considering how slammed he was! I ordered the Squid Ink Tagliolini with the Blue Crab in herb butter sauce and I had an Aperol Spritz. My pasta was delicious the only thing that could've made it better was More. Crab. The Aperol Spritz was delicious and refreshing. I don't know what's taken so long for me to try this place out but I will certainly be back because there are a lot of things I want to try! read more

This is the perfect place to come anytime but especially before a show at the Saenger or Orpheum Theatres. Their happy hour (3-5 pm half off pizza and glasses of wine) is so good. I love all their pizzas, but I think the clam one is my new favorite. You can never go wrong with their pastas either. read more

Domenica lives up to the hype. Even though it's technically attached to a hotel (The famous Roosevelt), I don't consider it a hotel restaurant because it's just far better and has a classier more upscale vibe than the typical hotel restaurant. My friends and I came here during the holidays without a reservation on a fairly busy evening and were seated immediately. It took us a while to order but our server was continually attentive until we made up our mind. We ordered a margherita pizza, some Brussels and the squid ink pasta. Everything was great and perfect sizes for sharing amongst the three of us. The pizza was so good- simple ingredients that struck the perfect balance between crispy, saucy cheesy and basil(y). So yum. I don't recall ever being disappointed with Domenica. Kudos to that place for keeping me hooked! read more
My wife and I had a date night and decided to eat here since it was near the Orpheum Theater where we were going to see a comedian. We weren't disappointed. We started off with their brussel sprouts. They were delicious. They were topped with feta cheese and the sauce was amazing. We then shared a crawfish pizza. This was great as well. Like a crawfish boil on a pizza. The only thing I didn't care for on it were the potatoes. We finished with the molten lave chocolate cake with ice cream. We also had some drinks with dinner. My old fashioned was perfect. My wife loved her belini. I want to say the waitress was really great. She was attentive and knew the menu. This was an overall great experience. read more

The menu and portion sizes have changed since we last ate here. The Lasagne is still great but a smaller portion. Pastas aren't offered in 2 sizes anymore. The Agnolotti is excellent. We had Tiramisu (ok) and the Molten Chocolate Torte (excellent) for dessert. We wouldn't order the Tiramisu again. Service was good but they were very busy. read more
My coworkers and I dined at Domenica on a whim after a late night in the office. We made a quick reservation and were able to be seated right away. I've heard many positive reviews about Domenica so I was excited to dine here! The ambiance of the restaurant is warm, welcoming, and lively - it was packed when we arrived at 8:30 for our reservation. The four of us were seated towards the front of the restaurant near the windows. My first qualm is we were seated at a ridiculously small table. The table could barely accommodate our drinks and bread, and we were literally shuffling things around, balancing plates, and holding things in our hands to place everything on the table. I even used the windowsill to place our drinks so we could make extra room. This was incredibly annoying. Secondly, a pizza was attempted to be delivered to our table and when we told the food runner that the pizza did not belong to us, she argued for a few exchanges and insisted that the pizza should have been ours. Our server, seeing this from a distance, ran over to correct her, and the food runner admitted she looked at the receipt incorrectly. I've never been in a situation where I have been forced to accept something I didn't even order, and that level of back-and-forth was just so unnecessary. Anyway, on to the food! Here's what we ordered: - ROASTED CAULIFLOWER: sea salt, whipped feta - TUTTO CARNE: tomato, mozzarella, spicy salami, bacon, fennel sausage, Chisesi ham - TONNARELLI CACIO E PEPE: pecorino romano, black pepper - LASAGNE: pasta verde, bechamel, mozzarella, pork ragu My colleague who has been here many times raved about two items: the roasted cauliflower and the lasagna. The cauliflower was good but nothing special. I thought the cauliflower + whipped feta turned out to be very salty. Also, at $23 for a head of cauliflower, is it worth it? Absolutely not! The lasagna wasn't great either; the cheese felt too heavy, not enough sauce, and so basically it felt like eating a big blob. The most disappointing dish we ordered was the pizza - the tutto carne was very, very salty and the crust was an absolute miss. It was very wet and soggy on the bottom and felt like it needed to be cooked longer. After a bite or two, I ended up picking at the meat and totally trashed the rest of my one slice- and I HATE wasting food. Quite possibly one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. On the bright side, the one major redeeming factor was our server - she was so lively, perceptive, and full of energy. We enjoyed truly stellar service throughout our meal. I'd probably try Domenica again just to give this famous restaurant another chance but it's definitely not in my top pick! read more

The margherita pizza and lasagna were elevated, unique and delicious, made with high quality ingredients! The wood roasted shrimp was delicious too! The service was kind, welcoming and pleasant. In the midst of Cajun Mecca I was thrilled to find Italian food that was as good as Italy! read more

Visited this pretty restaurant inside The Roosevelt Hotel where we are staying for lunch. Ambience was elegant and restaurant was very clean. Of course there's a full bar and extensive wine list. Absolutely loved the lasagna. The shrimp pasta dish was delicious. The squid ink tagliatelle was not good. It lacked flavor and had barely any crab in it. I almost went down to a 3 star because the restaurant was far from packed yet the service was very slow. Took a long time to be greeted and we were constantly looking for our server and you'd expect more from a restaurant inside the famous Waldorf Astoria. I do recommend and would return. read more

I finally got the chance to post my review of Domenica. I attended a private birthday dinner at The Cellar an exclusive dining space you can only access by walking through the kitchen. It's such a luxurious and unforgettable experience. Every time you enter, the entire kitchen bursts into applause, making you feel like the guest of honor. If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate privately, The Cellar is perfect. The dry aged tagliata (ribeye) was incredibly juicy, served alongside crispy roasted potatoes & a freshly dressed Caesar salad. The service and treatment were absolutely top-notch. read more

Not as good as it used to be, after their separation with Chef Shaya. Menu is simplified, dishes not as poppin (ex even the roasted cauliflower is prepared differently). It's fine, but no longer amazing. And now they're doing the BS service fees thing, to nickel & dime customers rather than use honest pricing. read more

A weekend in NOLA with late dinners at the bar, I personally enjoy a nice bar with comfy chairs to chat with the bartenders. It's the beauty of traveling & getting juicy details from the locals while eating dessert. Let's get into it, I love a good thin pizza that's not overly saucy or greasy. Tasted fresh, light & not heavy, which makes it perfect to indulge in your sweet tooth. I can't quite remember what dessert this was. But it was definitely good. Usually I would stick with your classic tiramisu, when I'm at any Italian restaurant. This night I was persuade by the bartender to have something else & it was totally worth it. As for the location it's giving Italian Mafia, black interior with low lighting, dark ambiance in a modern way. Could be sexy for date night or just a random late night like I had for myself. read more

For starters this is a more upscale Italian restaurant. Its next-door to the Roosevelt hotel. The service was amazing, our waiter was very attentive!!! I would call ahead to set reservations. If you have never been here, ask for the waiter to explain the menu. For appetizers we got the ciabatta bread with oil and the meatballs. The bread and oil were very good. The meatballs were generous and had spicy kick. For entrées, we tried the lasagna. Don't be alarmed because the noodles are colored green! The lasagna was ok.. 5/10. If you like orange soda, they have blood orange soda imported from Italy, which is a must try! They box and bag your leftovers for you. All in all the food was ok.. not my fav. We had a lovely lunch here on a Monday recently during Mardi Gras. We had pizza and we had a meatball appetizer. The wine list is spectacular. All the food was delicious and the server was great. The nicest part was we didn't realize that it was happy hour, so the pizza was half price and so was the wine! We highly recommend it. read more

One of the bigger letdowns I had in New Orleans, but not the biggest was Domenica. I was told there late night happy hour is something you cannot miss so we went there after a Saints game. Service was slow our order was incorrect and the service just flat out stunk! It was almost as if they wanted to get us out of the restaurant versus have us there for late night happy hour. Overall, the food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Oh and did I mention, the food did not come as we had ordered it. 100% over priced for what we got and won't be back. read more

We wanted something different after eating fried shrimp and gumbo for the last couple days, so we reserved Domenica which was a 5 minute walk from the Ritz where we stayed. The first thing we tried was the unique Brussels sprouts with house cured pancetta, cane mignonette and feta cheese. My wife had traditional spaghetti and bolognese sauce while I ordered the Agnolotti made with local Louisiana shrimp, hand stuffed with Calabrian chili and the sauce was light and buttery. The wine list is great. Paired our meal with the Borgo Scopeto Toscana '20. Perfecto! Don't miss this little gem just a short distance from the French quarter and you won't be disappointed. What is the parking like? Is valet available?
You can valet through the Roosevelt hotel (which, it's located in)..things are really busy right now with the Christmas display inside so, it may be worth it to call the Roosevelt and inquire about valet costs.
