We celebrated my birthday and our anniversary here and were very happy with our experience. There was a good wine list and fun cocktails available. We LOVED the squid ink spaghetti and shared it for our starter. We also shared a pizza and pappardelle and loved both. We sat upstairs and had a great time viewing the drinks and food being made and seeing what other parties were ordering. The service was great and we would definitely go back!

Yum! We we're lucky enough to get a few spots at the bar without having a reservation. These spots come with dinner and a show. The show is that the kitchen is right there and you watch them making every delicious thing you're about to eat. I was with two friends and we shared five appetizers and a dessert. This was a perfect strategy. We had the squid ink pasta, which was with shrimp and phenomenal. For veggies, we have the local lettuce salad, carmelized radishes, and the carrots, which had these candied hazelnuts that I'm still dreaming about. The arancini has short rib and cheese in it, a giant ball of delight. And we had the brownie for dessert that had incredible coconut crunch ice cream with toffee chips. The cocktails and the wine were enjoyable as well. Shout out to Otto for taking great care of us!

A plus Sunday brunch. A plus service. A plus atmosphere, only downside being a cacophony of diner voices off the hardwood ceiling creates a din of noise which, if you're 40 or younger, is not a problem for conversation. I'm 62 and I could still hear my friend so it's not overwhelming. And we were upstairs so it was likely louder up there. Acoustic baffles would eliminate this problem. The standout feature here is that the sinks are outside the restrooms. That peer pressure (talking men, here) has to promote handwashing and more thorough handwashing among staff and diners better than a sign that says "all staff must wash hands when leaving restroom."

Paladar 511 continues to live up to the hype, and the pappardelle is a standout dish that keeps me coming back. The pasta was perfectly cooked! Every bite felt intentional and balanced. I love the atmosphere. It's warm, intimate and cozy. Perfect for a date night! If you're dining at Paladar 511 and love pasta, the pappardelle is a must-order.

Service was great and the food was delicious. I tried a couple of their signature cocktails and enjoyed them both. I liked the Bad Mr Jive more than the Swarm and Sting. The pasta was perfectly cooked and everything had exceptional flavor.

Oh I just love this place so much. Coming here after a wine tasting at Grand Krewe next door is my favorite. Their pasta is so delicious but honestly everything is. Their pizzas are great for a sharing app with the table. I kinda want to order the arrincini every single time. Last time we had slow service which was unusual. The ambiance is really nice too!

Though I've had the opportunity to visit Paladar 511 many times for dinner (excellent!)... I finally had the chance to attend brunch for my birthday :) The food at brunch definitely didn't disappoint. The service was good as always & the ambiance is always such a vibe. Love the open kitchen concept, the windows, the art & books-- it's very cozy in there! I'd definitely be back for brunch. Every entrée was honestly good (had a try of them all!)

Oh the food here was really great, the squash is an incredible dish and the crispy chickpeas add so much to it. The squid ink pasta does NOT stain your tongue and was delicious. The mushroom pizza was pretty good too, but not the standout. Only complaint is that I was the portions were bigger, if you're going to share meals then be prepared to only have a bite or two of each thing.

Get the squid ink spaghetti, get the squid ink spaghetti, get the squid ink spaghetti...and the pizza! Dispute a rocky start, everything...and I mean everything we experienced here was worth every penny! We arrived after walking in the pouring rain (it was just a few blocks we said...it'll be easy we said *eye rolls*) to be met with a few strange passing glances, and an usher to get us seated quickly. Once seated, our waiter was fabulous. They truly knew the menu, and their knowledge alone helped us understand how we could craft the perfect birthday experience for my mother. I ended up with a Ponchatoula Plane, the seasonal watermelon starter, the squid ink pasta, and a chocolate cake. My mother indulged in the same, but opted for pizza instead of pasta. Described as the best thing on the menu by our waiter, I highly encourage trying the squid ink pasta as an entree (as opposed to a starter). Trust me, you won't want to share. Additionally, it's been a month, and my mother still references their chocolate cake. They frost the cake when warm, so although it doesn't look like much, it's a decadent take on a traditional treat. Whatever you choose, it's hard to go wrong here. It's certainly a stop I'll be adding to my permanent NOLA rotation!

The restaurant interior feels like vacation. Gorgeous brick walls and beautiful wood, high ceilings and tasteful lighting and colors. The ambiance is excellent and the wait staff attentive and helpful. The cocktails are refreshing and beautiful The ensalada tre colorí has potential, but must have been low on the anchovi as flavor was mellow The Hamachi crudo was phenomenal. So fresh, cut perfectly and the sauce... just wow Pappardelle had potential if only the seemingly house made noodles had been drained properly The seared snapper seemed deep fried. The sauce was good. The peach angel food cake was fresh and delicious. The mascarpone ice cream was 5/5

I've been here twice and it's been good to great! The spaghetti was a 13/10. I dream about this spaghetti. The lamb pizza is out of this world good and the char on the crust is to die for, not pictured because we inhaled it. The squash pasta was good. I was not a highlight, but it was good. The dessert was the star the cinnamon ice cream is like nothing I've ever tried. I'd come back again and again for the pizza, spaghetti, and the dessert!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint!! Make a reservation pretty far in advance as they book up fast. We had a reservation at 5:30pm on a Friday and it was packed from the moment we walked in until we left. The restaurant is in the Marigny and the atmoshere inside is great. Our server was very sweet. We had a lot of questions about the menu and she was super helpful to answer all of them. We tried alot of different things, and honestly didn't have any complaints about a single thing we ordered. If anything, GET THE SQUID INK PASTA. It was incredible. Only thing to note is the portions aren't huge. However, we loved trying everything and were so satisfied.

The food was very good, it has a very nice atmosphere. The host was dismissive. The waitress was ok but not super friendly either. Would get 5* if service measures up.

Do they allow walk-ins for parties of two or do they always require a reservation?

I haven't tried it, but I can't imagine they wouldn't accept 2 people walking in if there was space.

    What to wear?

Hoodies and sweats to ball gowns and feathers. This super trendy eclectic surrounding screams “be yourself and enjoy our great food!”

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

The tables are spaced well apart for noise and a possible romantic dinner/Breakfast. :-) Once seated, the server was working very hard but found us. (They may have been short since the jazz festival was in town) She took our drink orders, which arrived quickly. She explained the menu and let us think about our choice. The drinks were Flaura and Fauna, and Ballad Inventory. Both were unique and tasty. When our server returned, we ordered all of our items. We ordered Chicken under a brick and Braised Short Ribs for entrees. We ordered Roasted Mushrooms, Charred Broccoli, and Dinner Rolls. No willingness to problem solve whatsoever. She repeatedly said she was "sorry," but her actions showed the opposite. I was simply trying to work together to find some reasonable solution instead of continuing to watch everyone else get seated while our family, including small children, kept waiting.
