Stuff catfish

This place was so elegant and Cozy. We were greeted at the door and seated as soon as we walked in. Our waiters Bert was very attentive to our table. With each meal Bert changed out our utensils and kept our water glasses filled. The food was delicious, mouthwatering also with the perfect glass of wine with each course. I had the grit-cakes then stuff catfish dessert peach pie!!! 10 out of 10 on this place Bert wins the best waiter of all time

The food here is good but not over the top. The restaurant is very loud so it's hard to carry on a conversation without yelling. We had the mussels, scallop special and pork chop. My scallops looked like they had water spilled on them while my friends did not. It was odd.

I wish I could take credit for finding this place. Thanks to "Alexx_Robinson" from Instagram post. Decided to try it for restaurant week. A few of the items on the menu weren't on the regular menu so I had to try it. We had to make an early reservation so that was a good sign meaning all the good times were already booked. From the time we walked in we knew this restaurant screamed elegance and quality. I never order gumbo at restaurants but it was an option and wanted to try everything. So my girls got the gritcake with shrimp heaven on a plate and I got the gumbo. That dark roux and sausage oh my God! We were the only black ppl in there the entire time but was never uncomfortable or felt unwelcome. Bert our waiter was wonderful! Our tab was pretty expensive because we also got the wine pairing but it was worth every penny!

I live nearby but haven't been here for a long time. Went for brunch recently and it was as delicious as I remembered! We had the puff pastry, a fried oyster special, the much-touted gnocchi, and the Cuban madame. Everything was excellent including the fries with the sandwich. The gnocchi lived up to the hype and was very decadent. The puff pastry insides had a great flavor- the outer shell was a smidge burnt for my taste. Service was lovely and the rooms are sunny and cheerful.

Smoked chicken and sausage gumbo

Such a hidden jewel. My husband and I often say we could live in New Orleans 100 years and still could not try every restaurant. This quiet, quaint restaurant is located uptown right across the street from the Ft Laurel sign. It's a must you make a reservation. Our waiter, Bert, was simply amazing: friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu. We chose to try the restaurant week menu with the wine paring. First course we had the shrimp and grit cake and the smoked chicken and sausage gumbo. The flavors of the sausage, shrimp and roux were simply divine. The grit cake came with shrimp and succotash which was such a savory combination. Paired with the Prosecco was the perfect touch. Second course we had the stuffed fish and the lamb chops. The fish was stuffed with an andouille dressing and was served with asparagus. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, served with a charred eggplant puree, Wild rice and crispy chick peas: chefs kiss. The fish was paired with a chardonnay and a priorat with the lamb chops: both complimentary to its entrée. Dessert was a peach upside down cake with ice cream and served with a Nieeport White Port that was the cherry ontop a phenomenal meal. We're definitely planning to dine again.

Pecan encrusted black drum.

Love this place! A group of four of us were in town visiting for the weekend doing the food tour. We came across writing to this place and it sounded great. It certainly lived up to expectations. The pecan encrusted drum was excellent. I had the beef short ribs. they were, cubed with a light smattering of a macaroni style pasta in when I think it is a a beer and red wine reduction sauce. I'm eating it was tender and extraordinary! Our group, I'll give this place a resounding thumbs up! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice and comfortable. We will definitely come back here next time.

We went here for brunch a few years ago which was delicious. So we decided to have a dinner date night. It's a perfect place for a date night. We sat by the window which was very nice. I had a Pinot Grigio wine which was very good. We started the meal with the delicious bread basket. I would recommend that if you like bread. Our entrees were the paneed pork chop and crusted redfish. These entrees were amazing. We will definitely be back. Our waiter, Kaiden, was so nice and helpful when we were deciding on our entrees.

How is the food?

Personally I think it's one of the best restaurants in the city with regard to the food. I always try to take out-of-town guests there to show off New Orleans cuisine.

The food was fantastic, and I have to recognize the staff that really looked out for my mom while we waited. The hostess was so kind in allowing my mom to sit inside and have coffee until our table was ready. I didn't mind at all waiting outside because it was such a beautiful day, and it was just great being in New Orleans. I will say the food was astronomically delicious. If I could provide a 10 rating, I definitely would. From the French toast made with the po' boy bread to the shrimp and grits and the crab omelette, my taste buds were so happy. This place is a true gem. I can't wait to come back and try more. Such a great experience.

Nice to be able to order a side of avocado to go with the eggs. Not the best place to come with larger groups. Great for parties of 2 or 4. I am always eying the shrimp dishes but gotta pick and choose the battles with stomach sensitivity and all that dairy first thing in the morning before lots of walking. I always enjoy looking at the artwork on the wall. The sidewalk is narrow outside and usually almost always a wait when I go. Its never too long but a cozy atmosphere.

The staff kept things moving and were attentive throughout our meal. Taste: The menu is concise, which I liked, and there's truly something for everyone. I ordered the BBQ shrimp and grits, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. It was savory, flavorful, and very filling. My friend had the grits and egg bowl, which was also really good. The fresh juices were delicious and paired perfectly with brunch. Ambiance: The café has a lively brunch vibe and feels like a staple spot. It's casual, welcoming, and perfect for catching up with friends while enjoying a great meal. Overall Review: Two Chicks Café is affordable and absolutely worth the visit. Between the flavorful dishes and great brunch energy, it's a must-stop on your NOLA trip. I would definitely go back!!!

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!
