Fun Gus Pizza
Florence T.

Nighthawk Napoletana is a great pizza place to have so close to me! It's also right next to the ferry so if you're making a trip on the ferry it's easy to get to! My friends and I tried the Fun Gus and the Salsiccia Pizzas both of which had the poblano cream which added some really good flavors. I'm a huge mushroom fan, so the Fun Gus pizza hit all of the right notes for me! The crust was a good balance of thickness and crispiness. Yum! I did try the breadsticks on a later trip and they seemed to have the same flavor as the pizza crust. So if you get the pizza, you probably don't need the breadsticks. The space was limited, but they did pretty good with the space that they had. The prices were also pretty good for pizza. Both pizzas mentioned above were $15 each. Drinks: We got water, but it seemed there were other drink options at the bar in the back. Parking: A few spots in the front and plenty of street Parking. Dog Friendly: There is a table in the front that you can enjoy your pizza while with your dog. Outdoor Seating: Yes, there are a couple of tables in the front.

This pizza joint situated at the edge of Algiers Point is truly one of a kind. After receiving a recommendation the night before, we decided to give it a try. And might I add, we were not disappointed. This casual/cozy spot offers both indoor and outdoor seating. With both New Haven style and Napoletana style. There's a pizza for everyone. We opted for the Fun guy and LeBlanc. Both pizzas were delicious and perfect for two people.

I don't know why I have waited so long to try this! I love pizza and this place is up there with the best in the New Orleans area. It's right off the ferry in Algiers point. We were concerned about the wait time since it was the night before Thanksgiving, but we got seated and served immediately. The menu is pretty small, but fantastic. Two of us split a Caesar salad, arancini, and a pepperoni pizza. The salad was terrific, very lemony dressing and the croutons were warm, which was awesome. The arancini were an order of three and they were the size of tennis balls. Crunchy on the outside and gooey. Personally I could have used more sauce but there was plenty and I'm just greedy. Apparently the kitchen was slammed with to go orders, and our server apologized for the delay, which was weird because I didn't think it was taking very long, but good to know they're normally lightning fast! The pizza was fantastic. It had the kind of pepperoni that curls and cups when it gets warm, which I love. The dough was delicious, with that little bit of char from the pizza oven. I always try pepperoni when I go to a place for the first time, and while it was amazing, I will definitely try the other types because they looked great. Can't wait to go back!!!

Very good pizza and cocktails. Relaxing atmosphere, and we had a very nice waitress. Definitely our new go to spot!

Dined here on a Monday evening with my spouse. Parking was easy and we were greeted by many employees upon entering. Joelle was our server; she was very knowledgeable and sweet. She told us that all the toppings such as the sausage were made in-house. We ordered the arancini, Salsiccia pizza, and the chocolate budino for dessert. The arancini was great. As for the pizza; I hate to burst you all's bubbles, but the pizza here was not all that! I was not impressed. Perhaps it was because of my recent trip to Illinois? The salsiccia was very light but we felt as if it was missing something. Being our greedy selves, we still ate it though! lol. The budino was a chocolate pudding topped with whipped cream; I enjoyed it.

My family ate there last night for dinner, and let me tell you it was nothing short of amazing. When you walk in and have that big wood fired oven churning out delicious pizzas right in front of you, you eat with your eyes before you ever even take a seat. The staff was incredible last night, made my 4 year old feel like a rockstar and equally as important as anyone in their restaurant. We ordered the arancini and meatballs for apps. Both incredible with that insanely delicious and savory red sauce. For pizzas we got the Pepperoni and the Fun Gus. Charred poblano cream sauce on a pizza, SIGN ME UP. The pizza was soft and chewy, while still being firm and i swear on everything i hold dear that i could eat a pizza of just crust because the dough is that incredible. Dont sleep on getting a side of caesar dressing to dip! Chef Adrian has this place as a staple in Algiers and it's only been open a few months!

The andouille was so good! I would definitely bring some home if I could. The Cajun fried ribs were out of this world. They come with a dipping sauce and they are highly recommended! Super flavorful and crispy, no fat or grease. The pig mac was a Big Mac on steroids...so much more flavor and their special sauce and pickles were unbelievable. The pork patties were cooked perfectly and were very good. Great twist on the Big Mac...just way better! Ordered the unsweetened tea and there were endless refills with great service.

I got the Muffuletta (per amazing recommendation of the cashier at the front) which was a sandwich I had never tasted before. Also the vibe of this place was truly a butcher style location which was so cool. I travelled from Las Vegas to New Orleans and it was so cool to see the difference in the butchers and deli shops from back home. I wish I could have one of these every week! The olive spread as well as the sesame toasted bun mixed with the deli selection of meats, absolutely fantastic!

We got the garlic knots, which were fresh and good, but they had a little too much basil for my taste. The house salad, though, was AMAZING. I honestly wasn't expecting to be so impressed by a salad, but it was seriously that good. Then we got the Bianca pizza and added olives, and OMG. It was probably one of the best pizzas I've had in YEARS. The sourdough crust was brick-oven cooked and had the most beautiful blistering and char. It was SO good. For drinks, I had a Bee's Knees and absolutely loved the lemon and honey combination. We also got a spicy margarita, and when they say spicy, they mean SPICY but it was still really good. The staff was friendly and attentive, everything was clean (including the bathrooms), and we just had a really great experience overall. I would definitely recommend Margot's, especially if you're a pizza person. That Bianca pizza was worth the visit all by itself!

Was a very busy night and we walked in for a party of 7. I understand that it's crowded and busy,…read moreso we were very patient and respectful. We saw on the menu that checks could not be split, which was fine even though split would be preferable to us. So, when our server told us the check can't be split but she can "take multiple cards" I was a bit confused and asked if she could explain more since that's what we might do, since she said it was possible. Already there she gave attitude and said I don't know how else to explain it to you in a rude tone. After we finished our food, we asked her to take multiple cards for the check and she told us to write on the back what to charge each card. I apologize that I did misunderstand what she meant, and put the items rather than the exact amount to charge each card. She came back and said, "you did exactly what I said not to do." So I said sorry and was in the midst of redoing it by calculating when she just snatched it from me and said she'll just do it. I had no problem doing it nor did we complain even once. After a while, understandably, she came back and basically scolded us, saying what if she was busy she wouldn't have been able to do this....but she said she could do it in the first place! We understood from the get go no split checks but then she gave the option of multiple cards so obviously we took it. The food was good and the ambience was nice. I enjoyed the open kitchen concept and seeing the pizza oven. But the service ruined it for me. I work the food industry and would have never acted this way. Nevertheless, I would come again but would not want that server.
