Found this place from "One Bite" and Dave's review. 5th places I've tried based on Dave's review. I only had time for a slice as I had dinner plans later on. I'd probably rate it a 7.8 reheated out of the oven. I could tell a fresh pie would live up to the 8.3 it got. Great little bar attached. Awesome place to grab lunch or a quick slice between bars.
Super friendly staff. Amazing pizza. The slices are huge and so crisp and fresh. This was for two people, we shared. And we're stuffed!! So good and creative.
Yummy! You have to try the She Thicc and Forbidden Fruit. The walk-up counter service is always friendly, but if you'd like to sit for a spell, they also have a cool restaurant area and bar with refreshing frozen drinks and standard alcohol as well.
Ive been waiting to visit forbidden pizza ever since they went viral a while ago - happy to say I got the chance to do so and enjoyed my time there! I ordered the forbidden fruit, which has fig jam bacon, mozzerlla, and riccotta cheese. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! If you like a sweet and savory slice, i would 100000% recommend. Its comparable to new york slice pizza since its thin, sold by the slice, and quick to grab and go. My friend and I also bought the dough bites to try (not pictured) and i didnt necessarrily love them. There is an outer shell from the dough that makes it tough to bite and the marinaria sauce that came with it is a little too sweet for my liking, but my friend loved it. There is outdoor and indoor seating so choose whatever you prefer! We opted to sit outside at the provided tables because there was nice weather outside. There is also a speaker outside that plays music so it creates a lively atmosphere. I would definitely recommend and would go back again!
We ordered for pick up and they were super busy so we came to pick up and there was a line of 5 people waiting, then a few came to pick up their orders on the side without the register (I assumed they ordered takeout while they were there so I didn't go to that side, just continued waiting at the register). The service seemed really nice. I think a guy dropped his pizza slice and came back and the staff seemingly said they would make him another? Super packed and connected to a bar so not a place I would go to sit and eat at all. At $35 a pizza, yes they're huge, but they're not worth that price. The upper half of the pizza was still crispy and held form but the bottom half was sloppy and droopy (we only live 10 min away so it didn't sit long). We got the Italian stallion which says it has basil, but it did not have the leaves...not sure what it meant. It was super salty as well. Fine to try and probably better retoasted so they're crispy.

We were looking for a place to have a quick dinner before the Banana Ball game and found Forbidden Pizza was a few blocks away. They've been popping up on my social media for a while so we decided to give it a try. Word of advice: know what you want in advance and have a back up choice. We walked up and it was the most rushed and strange interaction ever. They didn't have the she's thicc so I pick up a menu to try to decide on another slice and the guy kept saying "you want the pepperoni" so I gave in and got that even though I would have liked something else if he gave me 30 seconds to look at the menu. There's hardly any seating so we were wedged into some seats along the window and waited a while. It's definitely over hyped. The pizza was burned on the bottom and it just wasn't good. Definitely won't be going here again.
Needed someplace close to the dome to grab dinner before the Savannah Bananas. Had seen a lot of post recently and some good reviews so gave it a try. It's a small place with limited seating. They do have a full bar and some inside tables on the side. But it seemed for the most part this place is a grab and go or grab and eat quick there. They have some very interesting flavor combos for their pizzas. For my first time I went with the Italian stallion and forbidden fruit. The Italian stallion is more traditional nothing too crazy going on there, but very good. The forbidden fruit sounded interesting less common flavor profile, but had potential. It ended up being as good as I thought those flavors coming together might. The sweet and savory with the fig jam and bacon amazing. Next time I'm in the area will be trying the other slices.
Not my favorite -- I ordered the pan style 'She Thicc' and I felt the sauce was overpowering and the crust was too thick (aptly named I guess). Plus, the basil was missing. I also had the dough bites, which needed a bit more flavor or different dipping options. Similar to the pizza crust, too bready for my taste. I would be willing to try a different style and flavor pizza here again, though. Cute inside spot in the CBD.
Nice little place of the beaten path. I was looking for something quick and good. I had eaten my through New Orleans and couldn't eat one more big meal. I found this place, not too far from my hotel. I walked over and almost missed it because it was unassuming. I walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome. She helped me pick a great pizza. There were many to choose from. I selected the Sicilian (square) pizza. I can't turn down a square. As a pizza snob from NY, I think I know good pizza. I took my first bite and I must say, it was pretty good. The sauce was tasty. The dough was good. Big slices. I was quite surprised. I would recommend this place.
I absolutely love this pizza place! I've been here twice and both times I have been I have left happy. The last time I was there I had pesto pizza with sausage! It was sooo good. Also the cookie was delicious as well. Not too soft, not too crunchy. Customer service was great! I love how they have the outdoor seating (just a few tables) but they have a bar inside and additional seating. If you're looking for a good pizza spot this is a must try! You can get individual slices too! Worth it!

It feels weird getting pizza while on vacation in New Orleans but we wanted a quick, good and low key night. I am so happy we stopped in- it was so good we might stop and grab another slice before vacation is over!
Forbidden Pizza is one of the big three in New Orleans and very well could be the best pizza shop in the entire city. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is crispy, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the portions are plenty. The staff is always super friendly, and the pizza always come out relatively quickly (especially considering how busy they are). I don't make my way to the area too often but when I do I always try to stop by. 10/10
Why has it taken me so long to go here??? Easily in the top 5 of pizza in New Orleans (and I say that as respect to the other pizza chefs doing great work in the city, not anything against Forbidden Pizza). There were three in our group, and we decided to go with a Garden of Eatin' whole pie, plus slices of the Italian Stallion, Pepperoni Pleaser, and the Burrata Bliss. I only had the Italian Stallion and the pepperoni, so I'll keep it to that for now. The pepperoni was delicious. It's the kind of pepperoni that cups and chars just a little on the edges and that's my love language. The sausage on the other was phenomenal and I would eat it off the floor if it fell! I'm told that the Burrata was delicious and so was the whole pie. There were so many green peppers on it! Not my thing, but they didn't skimp on the ingredients. The location is cool but kind of small, so make plans accordingly. They have the pies by the slice in cases at the front so you can see everything, which was really cool. There is also a nice bar area and the bartender was very friendly and fast, even on a busy night. I'm sad that I couldn't get the Some Like It Hot as a slice but that's good incentive to go back! It looked amazing. Last thing, I read some reviews that mentioned it being expensive. It's a little more pricey than a few of the other places I've been, but well below anything else in that neighborhood. Definitely not the most expensive pizza around and worth every penny! read more

I've been here several times and wanted to wait until I'd tried the pizza on a few occasions before writing a review. The pizza is traditional New York style, which I enjoy, and it's a great spot if you're looking to grab a slice with plenty of options to choose from. That said, I found the slices to be a little lacking in flavor. Since they're reheated before serving, that may affect the overall taste and texture. The pizza is still good, but I was hoping for a bit more seasoning and flavor. Overall, it's a solid place to stop if you're craving New York style pizza or want to try a variety of slices. read more

Visited Forbidden Pizza while in New Orleans. The atmosphere was cool and casual, and the service was friendly and efficient. They serve up New York-style pizza, and it hit the spot -- crispy crust, well-balanced toppings, and very satisfying overall. We ordered directly from the back-end pizzeria and then grabbed seats in the resto/bar area, and they brought the pies right out to us, which worked smoothly. My friends and I came here to get pizza after hearing so much about it. In my opinion it's not the best pizza I've had, and I do think it's overhyped. The area itself and ambience were quite nice and casual. Staff were straightforward and helpful. I think I was just disappointed after hearing so much about their pizza. In terms of taste, I think other places such as Pizza Luna is better. I probably wouldn't come back for the pizza, but it's worth a try if you're in the area. The place is also quite aesthetic. read more

Stopped by after a conference for lunch. Had the Forbidden Fruit pizza, which was a really interesting take. This is a white sauce pizza, which I love as I'm usually not a fan of tomato sauce. It had dollops of ricotta, fig jam, and bacon. It was a perfect mix of sweet, salty, and creamy. Thin and crispy crust. Also shared a bit of the pepperoni pizza and it was great, nice and spicy with lovely crisp and oil. The restaurant is small, with a small amount of table sitting and bar seats. Overall, awesome! Will definitely need to try other things next time! read more
Satisfying pizza, but not amazing. I enjoy the fact that you can get most pizzas by the slice, but unfortunately not the truffle one which I was most excited for! Pretty big slices for a reasonable price. You order at the front and then bus your own table. Everyone is super friendly, but 18% tip being the lowest automatic option for no service? Hmmm. The seating is cute. You can sit in nice booths or by a well stocked bar! Also love how they were playing amazing throwbacks. I'd try somewhere new over coming back, but worth a visit. read more

This pizza spot has become my go to! It's so easy to grab pizza by the slice and it's some of the best I've ever had. They also have an awesome lounge area with open seating and a bar. My fave slices have been the Forbidden Fruit and Italian Stallion. It's perfect for thin crust New York style lovers. The staff are always friendly as well. read more
This pizza is an out of body experience. I am a St. Pizza fan. I didn't think I would find anything I love more than St. Pizza. I may have found it....or at least tied for my top spot. Pizza order takers are smiling and friendly. Pizza comes out pretty quick. Slices are huge, really good dough, significant amount of toppings. You can also get a whole pie, or do like we did and order 4 different slices and then order more slices of your favorites because you are hyper fixated on how perfect the truffle pizza is and proceed to be so full that walking home feels impossible but you do it anyway. I thought their cocktail and wine options were good and I liked the feel of their bar area. Very hip but still feels casual. You need to go. Get a margarita at the bar. Get a cookie. Enjoy and be ruined for every other pizza you try because it's just going to be less amazing. I'm writing this 3 months later and I can still vividly imagine how perfect this pizza was... read more
I ordered a Pepperoni Pleaser whole pie ($32) take-out here on Saturday 1/17/26. I waited about 20 minutes for it. Once I got home I dug in & I was in Aww of it..... It is by far the best New York style pizza I've had in NOLA....It was a 20 inch size pie with the right amount of cheese, sauce, & pepperoni. The ingredients were fresh & of quality. My mother hates cheap processed pepperoni but she ate all the meat on her slice. I was satisfied after one slice. The slices are equivalent to two slices from other places. An individual slice of my pie retails for $5.50.... There are other flavors I cannot wait to try. They are in my rotation of restaurants & in my opinion they are the best pizzeria in New Orleans. read more
I've been waiting to try this pizza for almost a year. It did NOT disappoint. The BASIC and the pepperoni pizzas were completely off the chart. Definitely deserving of the hype. The price for a large pizza is like $33, and not too shabby! It's a big pizza and again, packed with great pizza flavor. The restaurant was nice and quaint. It wasn't too noisy, but it was a tight fit. I think they'll have another location soon based off the pizza alone! Service was great. I love pizzas and I will try new pizzas if they are good. I want to say that the flavor of the forbidden fruit pizza was delicious. I think that given how thin and light are the toppings I would get 2 slices per person to satisfy your hunger, one pizza slice is just going to make you hangry. The service was nice, you wait your own tables, so clean up after yourself, order pizza at the counter or at the bar where you can get a delicious drink. Ambiance is very poppy and modern. Simple and elegant. Ac is blasting and seats are comfortable if you are walking alot in downtown, they do have cold free water! This is like New York style pizza so large and thin. read more

Lives up to the hype! Tried a slice of Original Sin and Pepperoni Pleaser. Both excellent- really appreciated the fresh basil on both. Thin and crispy crust, with a little bit of chew. Great flavor on the sauce. My friend got the one with fig and raved about it, as well as the one with pepperoni and sausage. I also bought a cookie which I wasn't expecting to be impressed by but WOW. It was fantastic. Service was fast and friendly. Full bar on the inside, pretty impressive. It's a really beautiful seating area. Can't wait to come back and try more slices or a whole pie! The only negative was the dough ball - compared to the garlic knots of Zee's and Pizza D, these pale in comparison. read more

Crispy. Thin. Amazing flavor. Got a slice of the forbidden fruit and a slice of burrata bliss. Both were great. The forbidden fruit got a little tough, I'm assuming from the sugars of the jam... but I should have just eaten faster. Lol. Also tried a slice of the some like it hot (can only get this as a whole pie). This was good, but not as good as the others. It was more floppy and I'm assuming it's bc of the fat from the meats? Banana soft serve was delicious. Was good. Would return. read more

Forbidden pizza has the best in town ! The slices are huge , fresh , & flavorful. The staff are also always friendly. The prices are very affordable and they offer in an array of different flavors each day. They also have a bar. Cute little cozy spot to grab a quick slice of pizza! read more

So when I saw Barstool's Dave Portnoy hit New Orleans and this spot, you know I had to pull up and see what the hype was about. The pizza? Yeah, it's good. Really good. I'll admit that I really wanted to try the pizza here because of Dave Portnoy's top rating when he was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl. Before then I hadn't even know about this restaurant. We came on a really busy day, but the service was quick and we had no problem finding a place to sit. They have a full display of all of their pizzas which helps you make a decision with your eyes vs the menu. We tried a couple of pizzas and they were pretty good. I wouldn't say it's my most favorite pizza, but definitely a good place to visit when you're in the area!
